I really enjoyed this book . There was shifters, (of course there was), love, sex menage, evil, intrigue, some happiness & sadness, and love. It was a little on the slow side, & there wasn't much verbal communication. It was more of a thought process. But all in all, it was a gr8 story.

The book was interesting but the pace was a little rushed and the story was to long. In short there was a lot of words but not enough story.

SPOILER ALERT!
A new take on the paranormal genre, this book was interesting and moved at a good pace. It had a good balance of intrigue and excitement, as well as well rounded characters. Loved the fact that there was a menage here, not so much that it ended. A good level of hot, sexy scenes. An easy pace to follow and characters to love and hate, this made a great "rainy day" read!

What a different story than most. And it's a series, which is even better! I started with book 3 unfortunately, but I loved it and looked up the rest. It can be a little convoluted at times, but it's well worth the read.

Definitely Different

This story is very different from the usual theme of shifter romance. I enjoyed the unique story. Although I had the plot & outcome figured out very early on.

I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book and I loved both Eric and Liz. This book had everything, romance, humor, sadness, life threatening danger, hot hot hot mating and last but not least an HEA.

The author created a whole new world in the form of an island a supernatural island at that. Then she inhabited it with several different types of supernatural beings. This is the first story like this that I have ever read and in is unbelievably fantastic.

The romance was fantastic and the villains were just as amazing. Eric is the alpha werewolf and leader of the Clearwater clan. The Island also has a clan of bear shifters as well as a Dragon shifter clean. Eric went to New York looking to find help for the females of his clan to solve the problem of infertility. There he finds Liz a fertility specialist, who has just list everything due to a dishonest business partner. She is ready for a new beginning so she agrees to go to the island for a few months to see if she can help with their problem.

Once they get to the island the action never stops, I could not put the book down until I had read all the way through to the end. I HAD to know what was going to happen next. I was totally captivated by this story and it was fantastic all threats through to the HEA.

I higher recommend this book and this series and this author to everyone I know you will love it as much as I did. Be sure to pick up a copy for yourself you will be very very glad that you did.

Island of Alphas had it good points and it's bad points. First the bad points. There were situations that happened that would Never happen. The main one being: Eric, the island alpha, wants Liz to stay on the island. He's interested in her and wants her to be his mate. She tells him, the alpha, that she'll only stay if they can share their bed, one time, with Nate, another shifter. OK, maybe one time, but I really doubt that would happen with an alpha. I'd say he'd allow another woman to join them but I can't see an alpha allowing another male to have sex with his chosen mate. Then Liz insists that they keep the arrangement. Eric agrees again, Never gonna happen. There's a part where Liz's ex-fiancé suddenly appears on the island and asks Liz to betray Eric to help him. This was after experiencing the grey forms that come from Black Lake and thinks nothing of it. Not gonna happen. One more thing, how they got to the island. 'I face East and turn a special rock from the island to open a portal.' WHAT?
So, what did I like about this book. The writing is very good and the characters fleshed out. I could feel the scenery as it's described. Although, there were a time or two that the men's names got mixed up, but then again, there were a lot of them. LOL The love scenes were erotic and fun and the story did flow well. I also loved the fact that Liz was a strong intelligent woman that cared deeply for those she called friends and lovers. She put herself in danger more that once to protect the ones she cared about.

Wow! This one is non stop action. I could not put it down. There just isn't a slow moment throughout the entire book. Just when her life is at the lowest, lost love, lost business, betrayed by the men in both, Dr. Liz Fowler is given an unbelievable offer. She can still practice her profession as fertility specialist, she just has to come to a private island to help the people who live there. It is an offer she really can't refuse, the fact that the offer is made by the hottest man she has ever seen has nothing to do with her decision—well maybe a little.

A beautiful tropical island, working in the field she loves, great people, steamy boss, what more could she want? What she doesn't want is danger from so many sources, no romance, too many temptations, and so many questions.

Eric, her hot boss, wants more, but will he have to reveal all, his secrets and the island's?

This book has, hot alpha shifter men, supernatural interference, strong stubborn women and good people for friends. Oh yeah, there is plenty of danger and heroism both male and female.

Do yourself a favor and get this one—just make sure you have time to read it all, because you probably won't be able to put it down either.

I was given a ARC for an honest review.

I was given a complimentary copy by author AMIRA RAIN.

Doctor Liz Fowler had started a fertility clinic with her then fiance but after 2 years she finds herself out of work, IRS breathing down her neck and in debt. Eric James is looking for a doctor to help with a fertility problem of the women on an island where he lives so he comes to Dr. Liz Fowler in hope that she can help. Little does Liz know what she is getting herself into with this alpha.

The characters in this story mesh together and the interacting of all the characters is great. You can see the action and drama almost come to life as you read the pages of the story. Smooth flowing story line from start to finish in this book and I can't say anything bad about it.

This is for any mature paranormal romance book lover out there who like a little more in their romance stories.

A case of read this one, read them all

I like it quite a bit. The storyline was in interesting and flowed well. With that being said, I've read a few stories from this author and they all have the same basic outline. Fertility issues, some news bought, sold or convinced to have a baby, and this person is the only one that can do it. That isn't the biggest problem is that I t appears that whole pages and chapters are identical in the 4 books I read. And a particular pet peeve of mine is the use of ridiculous euphemisms, like "my most sensitive spot" or "his pole", entire chapter of sex using those words over and over a n a ménage a trois.

Not as good as some of the other books that I have read by this author but still a pleasant read. I thought that some elements of the story were very contrived and I was also frustrated with some of the characters. I liked the idea that the government had been secretly experimenting with shifters to create their own personnel. This was not overly developed though, and much more was made of the mysterious creatures from the lake that no-one explained. There were questions that were not answered by the end of the book, and the rest of the story was somewhat predictable.

An island of what

I thought the book was quite enjoyable and I'm glad the main characters received their happily ever after. The heroine was interesting even though I wanted to strangle her at times. Eric seemed preoccupied during most of the story and that's why she had problems developing a relationship with him in the beginning. Overall it was quite the story I enjoyed reading.

The Island of Alphas by Amira Rain

Interesting things happening with the inhabitants of the island and mysterious happenings that get revealed. She's down on her luck even though she's wonderful doctor who cares about helping people with having children. He's come when she needs help even though he's there for helping his own people on an island full of mystery. Their passion blooms but not without complications. I'm recommending that you check it out for yourself!

Island of strange
This story is about a female fertility doctor who had just lost everything is giving a job prospect on a Island. But as she finds out, this is not a normal island or are all the inhabitants on the island. We have a love story mixed in as well. Well written and enjoyable to read.

Not a street smart heroine

Liz got on my nerves when Jason showed up. What's the difference between not telling some something and not telling the truth? Especially when you don't know a lot about the Island you are on, and lives are at stake. It would have been nice if she was book and street smart.

Not bad but long winded

The plot was good and the characters likable. The story was long and drawn out. The internal dialogue and emotional descriptions were dragged out to the point I had to roll my eyes and grit my teeth. My heart hurt for Nate and he was not treated fairly. This story would have been better if it were more to the point.

Fast read

As far as erotic stories go, it was ok. Like all smut, its about physical moments, but the story seriously lacks. There are unanswered questions and the ending is rather abrupt and disappointing. Also, it's a pet peeve when I am reading and find several typos and grammatical errors, so that was a bother as well.

Fair

This was entertaining. It was certainly worth reading. I just didn't think it had enough character development. It seemed a little rushed without detail toward the end to make it a really good read. In fact it spent too much time meeting ex when it could have explained more about the lake.

Bad

I didn't like this book. It was long and unbelievable. It didn't have any really good parts and I ended up skipping over the last chapters just to finish it. Repeating the same thing over and over till you just skipped to a paged that was different. Not one I'll keep one my kindle to reread.
