Secrets and lies—the legacy of Dylan Walker’s existence. Ashamed of his status as a bastard son, Dylan found solace and a sense of identity as the lead bass guitarist for Truckstop Pickup. But with one phone call, his world is shaken to its core. Summoned to Kansas after the death of his father, Dylan discovers he has three brothers he knew nothing about. Reeling from that earth-shattering revelation, he figures life can’t throw him a bigger curveball. Until fate puts him face-to-face with the woman his heart refuses to forget...and her little boy. Who just happens to bear a striking resemblance to Dylan.

Never love a musician. That’s always been Zoe Chapman’s number one motto. Daughter of a legendary country star, she knew that truth better than anyone. Then she’d met Dylan. He’d stripped her of her defenses, and she’d fallen. Hard. Now he’s back in her world. A living, breathing, too-sinful-for-words personification of everything she’s ever wanted. And can never have. Only Dylan is dead set on becoming a permanent fixture in their son's life. Determined to make her part of the package deal, he works at breaking down her walls again, and her resistance is slipping faster than her panties.

But there’s another secret Zoe’s hiding. And it could end up pushing Dylan away from her forever.

Having an absentee father has left a deep impression on Dylan. When he learns that he has three brothers, all from different mothers, he’s not sure how to process it all. Following the terms of the will, he is required to spend the next week in not only his father’s home, but his business and the small town of Red Creek. He’s trying to handle it the best that he can. But when a run in at the local pharmacy brings him face to face with the woman he hasn’t been able to forget the last four years, things are definitely looking up.

description

Zoe has hidden her past from everyone around her. With a drunk as a father she has learned not to count on anyone to stick around or to ever trust they’re going to be there for you. They won’t. And while reuniting with Dylan and picking up where they left off is amazing, she knows that one day he’ll be gone as well. While Dylan tries to reassure her that he’ll be there for her and their son, he’s only here for a week and then he’ll be gone and her heart, if allowed to hope, will be broken again.

I loved the fact that both Zoe and Dylan, even while both having grown up with absent fathers, looked at life differently. I understood why it was difficult for her to believe him when he said he would be there for her and Hunter. But holy heck! With his charming country drawl and his complete adoration of her, I just wanted her to grab hold and not let go. He was one delicious hero.

description

This is a fast paced read with so much steamy chemistry I’m sure my Kindle was sizzling. The secondary characters were exactly what they needed to be and added to the story by supporting the hero and heroine rather than taking it over. This was what I would consider medium angst and only because of the inner struggle the heroine has and not due to relationship issues or outside forces. There is one huge twist in the story that skyrocketed this book into the stratosphere in my opinion. I love when an author can take me by surprise like that.

description

This book was absolutely perfect! There wasn’t one thing in this story that I didn’t love. I’m not sure what I was expecting but this so far outweighed anything I could have imagined. I am totally hopelessly in love with Dylan and even Zoe. This couple, together, make me happy.

The Sons of Dusty Walker is a series of four books, one about each son, writen by four award winning authors.
There will be mature themes and (I promise) HOT cowboys along with interestng secondary characters and strong plots. Each book can be read as a stand alone.

Dylan Walker is the youngest son, at age 25, but the first to have his story told.
Raised mainly by his mother, as his father had a job requiring extensive travel, Dylan longs for a sense of family and joins a band in Nashville, TN, Truckstop Pickup, that adopts him and gives him the family feeling he longed for - along with the family fights we all know.
It isn't until his father's death that Dylan learns he has three half brothers, each born to a different mother, scattered around the United States. Their father, owner of a Mineral Rights company, is wealthier beyond their imagining.
Oh - and he was also married to yet another woman, without children, who died in the accident with Dusty.

Zoe moved to Red Creek after the birth of her son. Her own family life was less than ideal with her father being a drunken singer in a touring band.
When he did show up in her life, situations never ended well.
As an act of teenage rebellion she did have a fling with a well known guitar player accepting that she would never see him again.
This is a theme that we see repeated throughout the series.

This is a story about accepting family for who they are and however they arrive in one's life.
It is about choosing one's own path and future goals.
On several levels this is a love story.

This is the first closer look at one of the Walker brothers, whose physical similarities are astonishing to a town that did not know of their existence.
Will they be able to bond as brothers and continue their father's work or do they have dreams of their own?
Dylan and Zoe's story is one of second chances and a love that wants to beat the odds. It hhas it's HOT moments, but overall is a very sweet love.

I am willing to bet after reading this first book in the series you will want to return to Red Creek and continue reading. I did receive an advance copy of the four books in exchange for my honest review.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads

This is the first of four books, written by different authors, and I love the premise of the stories. Dusty Walker has just died and four men, of a very similar age find themselves in a lawyer's office together for the first time, being told they are half brothers. Dusty left instructions for their meeting and a requirement that they spend a week in town. Each book deals with a brother.

Dylan is a famous country singer, and really doesn't fancy learning about his father's business, any more than he wanted to discover he was one of four. But a chance meeting with someone from his past changes everything. Amazing what can happen in a week! I will not reveal more, as this is a story which evolves beautifully and without sign posting, which really works.

There is a degree of scenario building, but it is done in context and leads us to the next clue ... as it were! There is clearly a lot of mystery around a man who hides four 'other' families from his community, and most especially his wife. And layers are starting to be peeled away.

Can't wait to see how the other brothers get on - as the epilogue hints at some very interesting weeks, both for the brothers and the locals.

This is the first book in The Sons of Dusty Walker series and each of the four books in this series is written by a different author. This story centers on Dylan the youngest of Dusty’s sons. Dylan is surprised and hurt when he discovers there are many things his father kept hidden from him and he doesn’t understand why he never was told he had three half brothers.  Dylan’s whole world is turned upside down with the news and it takes him a while to adjust.  As he spends a week in his father’s small town, he starts to reevaluate his attitude about his father and his own life.  While Dylan is staying at father’s house to meet the requirements of the will, he runs into Zoe, a girl he knew four years ago.  Dylan can’t believe his good luck at seeing Zoe again.  He has thought of her often in the last few years and is glad to have a chance to spend time with her.  Zoe is surprised to see Dylan and nervous because she has secrets she hasn’t shared with him.  Zoe loves spending time with Dylan, but she also worries he will break her heart if she lets down her guard.  She has been hurt before and is afraid to trust anyone.  Dylan and Zoe have a deep connection and they find it impossible to resist each other.  They have an explosive chemistry and things get steamy whenever they are together.  Dylan stole my heart with the way he treats Zoe. He isn’t afraid to show her he cares about her and is thoughtful and romantic.  This is an engaging story about a second chance at love and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this seriesThis book was reviewed by a member of the review staff at Cocktails and Books. I just finished reading Dylan: The Sons of Dusty Walker by author Jodi Redford and I absolutely fell in love with it. I loved the concept of this series and how the four half-brothers found out about each other and the stipulation their father included in his will regarding the Walker legacy. The author did a great job capturing my attention with the introduction of Dylan, Zoe and their young son, Hunter. Dylan and Zoe had amazing chemistry and the air sizzled whenever they were in the same room. Dylan's interaction with Hunter just melted my heart and his devotion to Zoe and his newfound family had me swooning big time along with his dirty talking. I loved the friendship between Zoe and Callie and their bantering had me chuckling. The author had me glued to this story from page one as we see both Dylan and Zoe struggle with the consequences of an absentee father and watching their relationship flourish. I cannot wait to read the next story in this multi-author series.

'Dylan: The Sons of Dusty Walker' by Jodi Redford is a great read. I was hooked from page one. The Sons of Dusty Walker is a collection from four amazing authors about four brothers that first learn of the others after the death of their father. This is Dylan's story. I loved getting to know Dylan, Zoe and Hunter. This story is smoking hot, with some humor and touching moments thrown in. I highly recommend this entire set to all fans of romance and hot cowboys. Looking forward to seeing what happens with the other Walker boys in 'Jackson' by Randi Alexander, 'Killian' by Desiree Holt, and 'Rogue' by Sable Hunter.

The first book in a series of four, each guy with his own book by a different writer, genious!!! book one Dylan's story, sets the scene, four boys pulled together by sharing a father, knowing nothing about each other. Their fathers death introduces them at the lawyers office, sharing the will that leads them to Red Creek and their personal demons and loves. Dylan runs into an old flame he couldn't get off his mind and the rest as they say is.......read this it's amazing, I laughed, scowled, laughed some more, gasped and shed real tears, two tissues worth, love a book that evokes all the emotions and this doesn't disappoint.

A small town has a whole lot of love in the air.
An OK read, but her single books are much hotter.
A nice happy story.

* The epilogue gives away the ending of several sequels. DO NOT read it if you want to be surprised. *

*** Note *** If you like the couple, their story continues in Book 05 of the series, Zoe & Dylan

This book was good. This is about Dylan Walker, who has been called to his fathers place after he passes away and is left something in his will. There is plenty of surprises in store for Dylan and he is not quite certain he wants to know anymore. He meets up with an old flame and what she has a secret she has been hiding from him. This kept me reading and on edge late into the night. Plenty of action and passion between the two. Highly recommend.

HIGHLY ENTERTAINING ROMANCE

Great characters and an amazing storyline. Four brothers finally meet after their father's passing. They actually meet at the reading of their father's will. This story is about Dylan who takes the first week to learn the family business and meet the town's residents. He is in for many surprises.

Father issues

Both Zoe and Dylan were deserted by their fathers and have issues because of it. Four years ago they hooked up and she got pregnant but didn't tell him. Now he's in town and they run into each other. The attraction is instant but she doesn't trust him to create a future. They both have issues to overcome first.

Steamy with an HEA and two people who deserve it.

This is the first in a series of four highly erotic romantic books about the four Walker Brothers. These books aren’t erotica. Erotica is almost exclusively about hot sex. These books have a lot of hot sex, but it isn’t gratuitous, and is appropriate for the stories. The first book’s Dylan’s, by Jodi Redford. The second book is Jackson’s, written by Randi Alexander. The third’s Killian’s, written by Desiree Holt. And the fourth is Rogue’s written by Sable Hunter. In case you’re unfamiliar with these writers, they’re four of the very best erotic romance writers anywhere!
Each book can be read as a standalone; however, I highly recommend they be read in order. Each is a very fast read and are between 120 and 235 pages, mostly around 150.

So far I’ve only read Dylan’s book, but knowing the authors, I’m sure the others will be equally great-- my wife’s told me so, and she’s always right! Read the preview on the book pages for the background stories. Dusty Walker’s wife refused to have children, and Dusty was desperate to have sons. He went to the four corners of the country and had a son with four different women. He loved these women, and supported them completely, as well as his four sons.

Dusty and his wife are killed in an automobile accident. The four brothers, who know nothing of the other’s existence, are brought together for the reading of his will. He’s divided his $500 million company equally between the sons, but only if they spend a month together and decide to become a part of his company. Anyone who decides not to participate can sell his share to the others at $.50 on the dollar!

Dylan, who is a country music star, takes the first week. His first day on the job, he stops by the pharmacy and sees a young woman bent over showing the cutest butt he’s ever seen in his life. And as she stands up and turns around he immediately recognizes the rest of her as being most beautiful, sexy woman he’s ever seen--literally!

She is with her three-year-old son, and when he looks into Hunter’s face, Dylan is immediately shocked. Has he perhaps met her on one of his music tours? Dylan hates his father because he only saw him about a week each month, and he certainly did not know about the other three brothers. Zoe knows who Dylan is and she has a deep secret that she is unwilling to share with him-- something having nothing to do with her son Hunter.

She also harbors a deep hatred for her father who abandoned her, mainly because of his drinking. Zoe and Dylan both have a complicated love-hate relationship with their fathers. Will they be able to overcome the hate part of their feelings for their fathers, and be able to move on with their lives, letting go of all the past resentments?

Will Dylan and Zoe perhaps find a life together? And where does Hunter fit into this picture? Will the four brothers get to know each other and bond together, letting go of their joint hatred for their father? Or will they abandon the business that Dusty has built over the years just for them?
Will Zoe’s big secret be revealed? There is a tremendous unforeseen twist near the end of the story! Read this wonderful story and find out! (Oh, did I mention there’s a lot of really erotic, hot sex!)

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is the first in a four pack written by different authors. It follows one of four brothers that finds out after his dad dies that he has three other half brothers. His dad, Dusty, was married to a woman that didn't want kids and he ended up having four different affairs siring four boys. This story is about Dylan. Some spoilers below...

Dylan finds out about his half brothers in his father's lawyer's office during the reading of his will. They find out that they all need to stay at the family house for at least 1 week before the end of that month and work for their dad's company to receive their inheritance. Dylan decides to go first as he is on the outs with his band at that moment.

As he is running an errand for the housekeeper, he runs into the woman that haunts his dreams for the past 4 years, Zoe. As a bigger surprise, a tiny duplicate of himself runs up to her calling her mom. What goes on is Dylan trying to prove that he is a better dad than Dusty was to him. Along the way, he finds out that he has to forgive a man that he really knew nothing about except that he only saw him once every month or so. Add to that Zoe's father issues that come to a head when Dylan's lead singer and band come to mend fences, you have an interesting story.

I am not always a fan of series written by different people but I am willing to over look that to see how the other boys do, I know per the epilogue that they all find their happy endings but not with who they find that particular ending with.

 A Must Read

Dusty Walker had 4 sons but none of them knew about each other until he dies and they are called into his attorney's office for the reading of his will. Imagine their surprise when they first see each other and the surprises just keep coming. They have equally inherited his business but to get their inheritance they have to spend one week learning the business and live in his house in the next 30 days. His original intention was for the four of them spend that time together but they found a loophole and each agree to take one week out of the next month. Dylan takes the first week.
Dylan is not happy about having to spend a week learning a business he has no interest in, in a town he never even heard of, in a house that his father had lived in with his wife. He will do his week and get the heck out of there. In walks Zoe a woman from his past that he has not been able to forget, and then he looks down and sees a miniature version of himself. If there is one thing Dylan had always known it was he would never be the same kind of father was, he would be around for his child. Zoe has her own demons and she doesn't trust any guy to stick around for her or her son. Dylan was going have to prove to her he was the guy that could stick around and be there for both of them.
I actually read Jackson's story first, but that is fine since you can read each as a stand-alone book but it is going to be fun to read all four brother's stories since they each have their own story and all written by a great author.

Dylan and Zoe. I thought about DNFing this in the first 30%. I didn't like Zoe and well, liking the heroine is kinda crucial for me. But I'm glad I stuck it out, cause the 2nd half was better and the ending had a twist I did not see coming. In the end I still don't agree with Zoe's excuses, but I did grow to like her character. In many ways, she was as fallible as her good for nothing father.
The premise of this book and the next 3 (+novellas) is that Dusty Walker was a pseudo bigamist having 4 other families not including the woman he did marry for her money. Each of the other women he would visit had a son and they are all in their mid to late 20's and resemble their father. Dusty and his snotty wife die in a car accident and in order for the 4 half brothers to inherit, they are required to spend a week living in his house and learning the family business.
Dylan is the youngest and a country western 'rock star'. Several years ago he had a one night stand with a woman whose last name he never got. But fated coincidence, he runs into her in the small town where his father lived, with a small boy who looks a lot like him...
The rest is pretty much as you'd expect, but sweet and an easy read. Then there's a big twist and all of Zoe's dirty laundry comes out. Dylan is a pretty upstanding guy to put up with all her baggage and mistrust. But it's a sweet HEA. Really it's a 3 star read, but the extra star was for the twist and the ending.
I would have gotten the little novella about their wedding, but $5.35 is a bit steep for under 100 pages!

This is the first book of four about Dusty Walker's sons. Each book can be read as a stand alone though and each book gives you more information about what kind of man Dusty Walker really is. The story opens in each of the books with the sons finding out about each other at the reading of their father's will. It then goes on to tell about each one's week learning about Dusty and the company he has built.

First up is Dylan, who is the youngest. He lives in Nashville and is a member of a band. He had a one night stand with a girl seven years ago that he can never seem to forget. He only has his memories and the name Zoe. Zoe has her own secrets and the biggest one is Hunter. Dylan's son, who knows nothing abt Hunter.

Dylan meets Zoe for the second time in Red Creek and meets his son, Hunter for the first time. The sexual chemistry between Dylan and Zoe is off the charts. But can they make a relationship with all the hurt and secrets between them.

Her next secret comes to life when the lead singer shows up in Red Creek to make up with Dylan and try to get the band back on track. Dylan is shocked to learn thar Luke is Zoe's estranged father. Boy do things heat up then!

Dylan has some big decisions ahead about Zoe, the band, his brothers and where his life leads him? Read the book to find out!

Dylan: The Sons of Dusty Walker was a really captivating story. Dylan has come to the reading of his father’s will to find more surprises than he expected. It was heart rending to know that Dylan didn’t have Dusty as a full time dad growing up and to see how it affected him. Now to have the bombshell of finding out that he has brothers to boot. There is the sense of Dylan being overwhelmed by what he’s currently dealing with from his band and now this news of his brothers and his dad’s final request. I really liked Dylan for how brash he appeared on the outside while getting sneak peaks of who he really was.

Dylan is daydreaming when he runs into Zoe. Zoe is a blast from his past and never expected to be found by anyone in this small town. I found myself rooting for Zoe. She had a huge heart while trying to protect her past and not really let anyone in. When she and Dylan cross paths again, it just feels like that pair of comfortable jeans that you keep for lounging in, they were just right together. Now if they can just work everything else out, they might have a chance at a great future.

The Sons of Dusty Walker is a set of books where each son is written by a different author and can be read in any order. Dylan is the first in the set. This is a fabulous start to a great series.

I received this book free from the author for an honest review. A good book for me starts with the cover and this book cover is eye catching. A great cover choose. I love a book where you have the surprise your a daddy element. There is several things going on in this book. Dylan has to deal with the death of his father and the news that his dad had three other family's. Also is the news that he is a father and dealing with his feelings for Zoe. Zoe has a few secrets of her own that she is hiding. Dylan and Zoe have great chemistry. Dylan has to deal with the anger he was for his father before he can see the love his father had for him. Dusty (Dylan's father) really loved each of his boys but was stuck in a loveless marriage. Dusty did what he could for his sons which was build his company to leave them. Dylan has a lot going on and you can't help but feel for him. Zoe knows what musicians are like and wants no part of the life Dylan has. Dylan has to break down the walls Zoe has spent a lifetime building. I will definitely be reading the other books in this series that feature each of the other brothers. I loved seeing how the brothers relationship develops from the start to the end.

4 star

This is book 1 in a 4 book series that should be read together. Below are the list of books in this series and the authors who wrote the books:
Dylan (The Sons of Dusty Walker, #1) by Jodi Redford
Jackson (The Sons of Dusty Walker, #2) by Randi Alexander
Killian (The Sons of Dusty Walker Book 3) by Desiree Holt
Rogue (The Sons of Dusty Walker, #4) by Sable Hunter

At the beginning of this series Dusty has just died. Four men who are around the same age as each other are half-brothers but didn’t know it find themselves in a lawyer’s office. There are things the brothers must all must do in order to fulfill a requirement that was requested by Dusty. Each of the books in this series deals with one brother.

Dylan who is a country singer really wanted nothing to do with this arrangement but what happens when his past comes walking into his present. Will he stick around to find out how a week will change his life or will he bail?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

Dylan

***ARC provided in exchange for honest review***

The Walker Brother's world is turned upside down after the passing of their father and when they go to their father's lawyer for the reading of the will and finds out that they he had families across the country. Furthermore, there's also a stipulation in the will that they must spend time in their father's home (a week) and learn the family business to receive their inheritance.

I love the premise of this series and that the first of the four books which are written by different authors starts off with the youngest Walker. Zoe's main motto was to never love a musician unfortunately she spent a night with Dylan and neither has never forgot the other. So imagine how the sparks fly when they literally run into each and the chemistry is still their along with a surprise that Dylan would have never imagined. I loved this second chance romance that had layers of romance along with a storyline that I desperately wish for more of.

After learning of his father's death, Dylan flies to Kansas for Dusty Walker's will reading. Finding out he now has a quarter of the billion dollar company wasn't the only shock Dylan received. Learning he also had 3 half brothers from 3 different mothers was the biggest shock of all. Required to spend a week in his father's home and work in the business Dylan is just doing what's necessary to earn his part of the company to sell.

Four years ago Zoe had an amazing one night with Dylan. It was suppose to be the end there, but 9 months later came the biggest surprise left by Dylan. Zoe's had experience with musicians. She knows first hand the life of a rockstar and has no intention of putting her son through the same thing.

One twist of fate and now these two are brought back together. They must put aside their past hurts and look towards a new future without the hate of their fathers if they wish to start again together, as a family.

Dusty Walker made awesome babies

I was ecstatic when I found out four of my favorite authors were collaborating on a series & couldn't wait to see how they pulled it off. Dylan by Jodi Redford is book 1 and I can't wait to read the others.
Zoe & Dylan are both awesome characters with daddy issues that could destroy their relationship if they don't resolve them. Jodi did an a great job portraying the emotions both characters felt for their fathers and for each other. The chemistry was so hot between them, that I was a little scared my Kindle might melt. All of the characters were so real, that I felt like I knew them personally. Overall this was a great story and I can't wait to find out how things go for the rest of Dusty's sons. I'd recommend this story to anyone that loves a good HEA with a few minor bumps on the way there.

Dylan is the first book in the four book series. Finding out the father he disliked has three other sons and leaves a will that rocks them all was just the beginning. Fining the one woman who holds you dreams in her hands is the batter. The son you never knew is the cake but baby the reveal before the punch is the icing.

Dylan and Zoe are HOT, emotional, and oh so similar. Past that they need to put to rest is what makes their love that more dynamic.

I enjoyed this completeness of letting go of past hurts and disappointment and writing a new future ending. You never know when it may be too late.
