It focused on six different Mutants, and each story was essentially self-contained. The miniseries was supposed to show the day-to-day sufferings of mutants, not just those that managed to find their way to the X-Men and Charles Xavier. It was written chiefly by Karl Bollers with different artists doing different issues.

This is book 6 of a series of 6 called Muties. The title is "The Patriot Game". This one is based in Ireland during skirmishes. I cannot talk too much about this one without giving spoilers so I will simply talk about the layout of the book. The artwork is messy, wording is all over the place in talk bubbles that are scribbly and hard to follow. The storyline is rather silly. Because of the haphazard layout of the artwork, it makes it difficult to follow along and match things up. It feels very rushed. I became extremely frustrated. I do not recommend this book. Very disappointed in the series.
This plays into the notion that MOST mutants do not make it to adulthood. It's sometimes a little too on the nose about discrimination; one issue is about Norther Ireland, one is racism, one is sexual identity, etc.
While Karl Bollers is the sole writer, most of the artists are independent artists (or at least outside the mainstream).
