“Perhaps something has changed in me.”
This one line from Seeing is Living by Anurag Sharma captures what this book is about. It's just 67 pages, which one can easily finish in a few hours. The author here explores the idea of "seeing", not just looking at things but also observing one's emotions, thoughts, fear, guilt and attachments without trying to fix or escape from them.

What I appreciate about this book is that it is not a self-help guide to life, but a series of stories that encourages one to think, pause, question, and observe themselves. The author shares his very personal experiences with guilt, anxiety, grief, and the constant anger he felt, which makes the book feel relatable and makes you think.

One idea that stayed with me from this book is how humans are conditioned to see situations as problems we need to solve, and how we've been trained for this since school through tests. The author presents that sometimes simply seeing something is enough.

This book made me want to pause and slow down while I notice my surroundings. If you enjoy philosophical and reflective books that make you pause and think, then Seeing is Living is worth picking up. It's short and a peaceful read.
