Melissa Toselli is a wild child with a troubled past. Having been on her own since she was fifteen she is desperate to find the one who will take her into his arms, heart, and control. She has a tendency to pick all the wrong men for all the wrong reasons.
Unbeknownst to Melissa she has caught Corbin’s Bend newbie, Jason Donovan’s, attention. The wild spitfire stirred something inside of him that he could not let go. He could see right through Melissa’s devil may care attitude to the vulnerable child within who just needed someone to care for and watch out for her. She was crying out for some guidance; both the kind that would tuck her in at night and the kind that would take her over a knee for some much needed discipline and structure.
Can Jason give Melissa what she needs and tame the wild child that she is? Can he show her the way a true gentleman treats the woman he has feelings for? Will Melissa turn out to be too much for Jason to handle? Will she fall back into her old ways? Or will Jason and Melissa find exactly what their looking for in each other?
Corinne Alexander is an erotic spanking romance writer who loves nothing more than to snuggle up with a cup of coffee, a warm blanket, and a steaming hot erotic romance. She enjoys strong alphas, feisty heroines, and a good old fashioned spanking romance. A Brush of Violet (Corbin’s Bend) is her debut novella, now up for the Golden Flogger Award. Corinne’s favorite kind of day is when she can slip away into nature to get lost in her daydreams, spinning her fantasies, with the forest floor under her feet, the wind rustling through her hair, and sunbeams kissing her face.
I can't express enough, how much I loved this story!
Melissa's PTSD and triggered flashbacks were showcased very realistically and beautifully, but always done between lighter moments to keep the story from getting dark.
I loved her young energy and heart; how she let herself be vulnerable with Jason, how she made mistakes that showed her true need for help and guidance. I laughed at her fun side, cried along during her hurt times.
And oh, wow, when it was time to put on some big girl panties, and act like a mature adult- crotchless panties and HOT sex. Yum!
Melissa was one of those characters, you fall in love with right away, and you can't help but root for. I loved her!
I also adored Jason. Besides being, sexy, dominant, and a spanker, he was also very grounded, and exactly what Melissa needed. He became her safety net, and protected her from herself.
He also punished her, with her consent- once, pretty harshly. But you could see that he did all of this out of love, and did not enjoy punishing her. I liked that.
My favorite part of this couple was that they snuck in some elements of Age Play. He snuggled with her, tucked her in at night; made her warm milk; comforted and nurtured her; and protected her, but most of all, showed her that she could let him see all of her- even the broken, hurting side of her.
This was different than any Corbin's Bend book I have read.
I love this community, and all the stories. But this one will have a special place in my heart.
Congratulations to Corinne Alexander on another superb performance.
~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads Review Team~ When reading the blurb for this book it sounds like a really good story. For me the blurb was the best part of the book. I just couldn’t feel a connection to either character and the story just didn’t do it for me. I didn’t think Melissa was really a wild child, she was acting her age really and young adults do the exact same things she did. Yes, she had a traumatic childhood with her parent’s death and she had flashbacks and PTSD from it, but her acting out was just part of being a young adult, fake ID, drinking, lying, that is what a lot of young kids do. I also am not a fan of age play and that was in the book as well.I just didn’t really see the whole point of the book, seemed like a filler book just to have another addition to the series. I love this series and will continue to read it, this one wasn’t for me though. Characters: well written and believable Sex: yes Religious: no Would I recommend to others: yes More than one book in the series: yes Genre: Spanking/Romance Would I read more by this author: yes ~Wicked Reads Review Team~

Another installment from Corbin's Bend - and this one focuses tightly on the couple in question. Jason and Melissa have been friends for a while, but after close call with danger from which Jason saves her, things change.
This book certainly has plenty of the traditional spanking for which CB is so renowned, a lot of it deservedly hard, but it also introduces a new kink. It is done quite well, I think, even if it is one which is both innocent and not! I will be interested to read reviews in days to come and see other readers' thoughts.
I hate to say it, but I don’t like age play books – they’re just not my cup of tea. I really didn’t read the blurb before I started Melissa’s Saving Grace, but even if I had I’m not sure I would have picked up on the subtle suggestion within it that points to age play. Truth be told, I’m glad I didn’t because if I had this probably would have been the first Corbin’s Bend book I opted not to read and I would have missed out on a really great book otherwise.
Ms. Alexander throws the reader in the deep end as we watch Melissa have what appears to be a bit of a breakdown in the middle of a night club – this scene was both sad and terrifying as I felt Melissa’s pain as well as the danger she faced when she passed out in the club while she was alone. Fortunately, Melissa owns a rather distinct vehicle and her friend Jason sees it in the club’s parking lot, goes in to check on her, and comes to her rescue. While still new to Corbin’s Bend, Jason has developed a close friendship with Melissa and the danger she put herself in upset him a lot, so when she mouths off about him spanking her he picks up the gauntlet – or should I say paddle – and proceeds to show her that he’s not afraid punishing her will ruin their friendship. The next day Jason does something I did not expect – he actually initiates the conversation with Melissa about how the spanking made him realize he wanted more from their relationship.
I have to say that I really liked how the author approached the age play aspect. When it first appeared in the book, it occurred so subtly that neither I nor Melissa realized it was occurring. But when the subject is purposefully introduced, it occurs initially through Melissa’s researching the subject and primarily as conversations between her and Jason and not until about 75% into the book. Because the focus of the novella is on Melissa, her PTSD and related issues, and the Domestic Discipline relationship she is building with Jason, the age play is actually a very small element within the story and this made it easier for me to read. I loved the chemistry between Jason and Melissa and found their sex scenes to be very steamy. What really fascinated me was Melissa’s PTSD and how it affected her life. Despite the serious nature of this book, Ms. Alexander did manage to make me laugh in the scene when Melissa comes to the realization that there is nothing sexy about having one’s mouth washed out with soap. Although I did not enjoy all aspects of the book, I found Melissa’s Saving Grace to be a really good read and a great addition to Corbin’s Bend Season Three.

SAFE AND SECURE AT LAST I loved this addition to the Corbin's Bend series where each book reads as a standalone. Jason Donovan is dominant, take charge, easy-going blue-collar worker, and single. Melissa Toselli is fighting demons and losing control trying to cope with the flashbacks and nightmares from the night her parents were killed when she was a teenager. Her reckless ways of underage drinking are taking her in a downward spiral of self-destruction. Jason and Melissa have developed a platonic friendship, but when he rescues her from being drunk and passed out, he knows she must be taken in hand, and he is just the man to do that job. The plot kept me captivated as we learn more about the PTSD Melissa is dealing with and the development of the relationship growing between Melissa and Jason. I found the dialog heartwarming, compassionate, but stern with love and understanding. It's always great to see the places and mention of Corbin Bend's residence in these books. We have the beginnings of an ageplay relationship that they decide to explore, but nothing really expounded on....but that is a great lead up to another story with this couple and their growing relationship and dynamics.
I enjoyed this story. We meet Melissa and Jason in a previous story. Melissa has PTSD from surviving the accident that killed her parents. She has never really moved past their deaths. I don’t think Melissa was so much a wild child as she was a young adult. If she had been in college, this behavior would have been considered normal. But, because she was in Corbin’s Bend, she was out of control. Jason has been friends with Melissa for a long time when he realizes that he loves her. Because of that love, he decides to take her in hand. The book is well written and is wonderful addition to the Corbin’s Bend series. I give this 5 stars.
This book had me intrigued from page one! It's written very well with a believable plot and memorable characters. Melissa pulled on my heartstrings and I really just wanted to hug her, seriously. Jason had such compassion for Melissa along with a firm hand when necessary. Their journey to love was wonderful. Very nicely done!!
I really enjoyed this one. I've only read a few of the Corbins bend series and I've enjoyed them. I hope there's gonna be more of Jason and Melissa's story as they explore ageplay.
