I loved this book so much! I can't believe how into it I was, I couldn't put it down. I usually don't read a lot of romance but this was different. It had many levels and will appeal to a wide variety of readers. I'ts certainly a tear jerker though so have the tissues ready. Other readers have said this would make a good movie and I agree 100%. I would love to see it on the big screen. I can't wait to read Lisa's other books now!
Without going into spoilers, the emotions of characters are conveyed excellently and you bond with them instantly. The plot is amazing, detailing the ups and downs of life and will take you on a journey with the protagonist, Kiera.
The atmosphere and setting really made this book. I seriously love gothic, shadowy stories with some ghostly elements, and this one fit the bill. Warning: tissue alert! Not many books can make me cry but this one did. I was right there with Kiera as she struggled to fit in and deal with grief and loss. Overall it was beautiful, engaging, and thought-provoking.
One of the cheesiest books I have ever read. The character development is awful and the timeline jumps around with no regularity or flow. I get what the author was going for, but I could blow my nose and get better dialogue. I read everything, from classics to shampoo bottles, and barely made it through half of this absolute drivel before calling it a day.
