I'm D. Camille and I am an avid reader and author. I started reading romance books when I was thirteen and since then I've read hundreds. I wanted to write a series that contained the culture and history of the African and African American people.
I like to utilize historical information, science and ancient beliefs. I write for people to enjoy, think, analyze and learn; not only about the characters but hopefully also about themselves. I love to hear from my readers. Write me and tell me about your favorite characters and what you love about them. Me, I love all of them...they came from my heart.
If I described Lily and Sean's story in one word I would say it was sweet , but this book is more than Sean and Sasha's story. I got carried away by Trent he is going to be something else I can see it., I love the way the author wrote him his personality was so big he took over the whole book and I can't wait to see , what happens to him next. Sean is more dangerous than he seems and he is so much more than an assistant. I liked that he as he said "made his flower bloom" I mean he and Lily were definitely made for one another. The story was a little over the top and some of the dialogue was a little too sweet but I did enjoy this story. I am patiently waiting for the next book in this series, I really want to see Ray and Izzy's story and please please more Trent.
This was my second book by this author, and it just so happens to be Book 2 in the Black Diamond series. The series just got better. This was a fast paced nonstop joyride, that I truly enjoyed. I loved the return of the original characters from Book 1, as well as the introduction of new characters. The mixture of suspense, romance, humor and banter between the characters was on point. Jordan Black, Jordan Black, Jordan Black...what a piece of work. Jordan had me LMAO, love, love, love this character. A must read.
Part 2 of the Diamond series is focused on Jordan Black's "Assistant" and bestie Sean Jackson. Sean and Lily are definitely a couple and he seals the deal on a fantastic date. He demonstrates to her that he is her Warrior in so many ways. Sean's mother Carolyn rears her ugly head to continue her vendetta against Jordan and Sean. Trent , who has just found his mother, is adorable in his quest to be apart of his new found family. His brothers protect him from the venom his mother is trying to plant in him. Trent shows his brothers he has mad skills outside of the computer.
Ray gets to spend time with Isabella and finds he is being drawn in the deep end of the pool with her. Isabella is finding out some interesting things about Ray. I think she may be taking up "pole dancing" in her future.
Sean displays his illusionist talents in many areas, however, Lily repeats the benefits of all his talents. Great read, some typos that could be corrected. Not a cliffhanger but it ends with good things and questions on how the series will continue.
How will Ray quench his thirst for Isabella? Will Trent win his Tamale? Will Jordan and Sage create a new Black to further the empire he has? I don't know about you, but I need the next installment . Thanks Ms. Camille..
This addition to what is shaping up to be wonderful series is just wonderful. The chemistry between Sean and Lilly is so off the charts. There is such a sexy vibe you get when you know a scene between the the two is going to be explosive. The overall development of these two is an inside glimpse of a man getting his woman and a woman excepting she has just that a man.The overall plot is worthy of this series and these mysterious people, who just want to live and love.I love the overall adult romance, you get that Sean knows he is going to have to stay a step ahead of this lady.So so so good that you will not put it down until it's finished and you.want to.start again.I will not call myself a new fan of this writer of I don't mention that along with Sean's and Lilly 's story you get to see the attraction between Ray and Isabelle and it is so sexy!!Also we get to add a new member to the family that you will have to read.
This book like the first in the series kept your attention and you hands turning the page. Each of the story lines were very interesting and I am looking for book 3. I'm hooked on this series!!
Sean Jackson and Lily Masters, when a Illusionist meets a Goddess...
Sean Jackson is the Assistant/right hand man to CEO Jordan Black of Black Diamond Holdings. Well that is what is written on paper but who he really is, is the Master of Illusions. Sean spins scenes and scenarios that are so believable to others that they don't even realize they have been ensnared in his web which is not a good thing because if your caught up in his illusion, the end result usually ends in death for the individual or individuals. Sean is a master but he also needs shelter from the storms and not many people understand that but as he walked into Sage's gallery and sees Lily for the first time, he immediately realizes he has found home.
Lily Masters is fine artist painter, she has painted all over the world, she has studied abroad, worked in museums worldwide and she is the best friend to Sage Black (Jordan Black wife from Book 1). Lily makes the move to come to LA to start afresh and reconnect with her best friend and also work with Sage in her gallery. Lily doesn't do commitments, she likes to have a good time and when its over, its over but when her eyes connect with Sean she doesn't realize just how swept up she is about to become.
Sean and Lily embark on a whirlwind of a good time but Sean has other plans for his Lily. Lily on the other hand has a devastating secret that she has seen not only herself almost pay with her life for but have seen others lose their lives after getting close to her. Sean will protect Lily with his life because she is his heart and whom ever is threatening his Lily will have the Illusionist to deal with but before he can weave his spells, he need for Lily to trust him and for her to believe that whatever she has done, he will still love her and want to spend the rest of his life with her.
Sean and Jordan realize that they have a younger brother name Trent, a brother who was born in secret and placed in foster care. The sins of their parents have fallen on Sean and Jordan to do right by their brother and they make it their goal and purpose to make sure that Trent will never want for another thing for the rest of his life. Sean's mother Carolyn has been descending into mental madness, Sean not understand why? Carolyn has done so much dirt that her deeds are tormenting her day and night and her hold on reality is slipping through her fingers. Once Sean and Jordan discovers that she has been conspiring against them, Sean has her placed in a hospital to get help.
Sean and Lily will fight for their love and against anybody else who tries to come against them. Sean will don the Master Illusionist mantle to slay those who have come against Lily and across his family, Jordan, Trent and Ray.
This was such a great story and I absolutely love Sean, he is so great and Lily is amazing too, their chemistry is hot like fire. Their story is definitely a re-read for sure.
This is a good series and I hate that am just now discovering it, but I’m also glad that I don’t have to wait for the next installment! I love the development of the characters, their poetic expressions of love for one another and just their overall interactions with each other.
Ok D. Camille is the bomb .com. I can't wait to dive into the next book, these brothers are an inspiration to all up and coming black brothers, sharing and taking care of one another the way they do is cool.
D. Camille, I have great admiration for your stories. I love the flow of your words and how they create a movie inside my head. Again I loved the romance, the drama, and the storyline. Most of all the many lessons that are learned in life. Great Read!
Sean is the master of illusions😍. They always say watch out for the quiet ones...silent, but deadly...etc. That’s Sean! Great read Ms. Camille. I love how these men will do ANYTHING to protect their women, regardless of what they have done. I need one 😩
Love the storyline. Being involved with foster children I sadly know how bad it can get like Trents story. Great foster parents need to be acknowledged more.
I continue to be impressed by D. Camille and The Black Diamond Series. Masters of Illusions was a great follow-up to Black Magic and I thought that was going to be hard to pull off.
I knew there was a lot more to Sean than what we saw in Black Magic. We were given hints here and there that he had a beast hidden behind his calm and non-confrontational demeanor. In this book we got to see that he truly is a master of illusions.
Although I thoroughly enjoyed the book, I must admit that the romance between Sean & Lily was disappointing. Their relationship just didn't resonate with me. I love everything about Sean, but Sean with Lily - not so much. There really wasn’t anything about Lily that struck me as overwhelmingly intriguing, as was the case with Sage in Black Diamond.
Lily has a questionable past and has a sweet temperament but that’s about it. We know she’s beautiful and Sean is immediately taken with her. We know she’s suffered a great loss and has been through a terrible ordeal with some very menacing characters. But what else is there to her? What really attracted Sean to her from the first? It's not that I don't like her, I just don't find her very interesting.
I was honestly hoping for something to pop off with Sean & Isabelle but I eventually understood why Ray would work better for Isabelle. Ray is definitely a force to be reckoned with and Isabelle is his total opposite, which is what he will need to settle him down.
What saved this story for me were the introduction of Trent and Ray and Isabelle's burgeoning romance.
Every scene involving Trent was hilarious, heartwarming or both at once. I absolutely loved the addition of Trent to the clan. It was beautiful seeing how quickly and easily Sean and Jordan loved him. Trent has lived a hard life, growing up in foster homes. He's extremely intelligent - a genius computer whiz - but he's not angry or destructive as one would think with his background. He's also loving and immediately protective of his brothers and their women.
I loved getting to see Ray & Isabelle interact. Although Isabelle is beautiful, intelligent and wealthy, she has been through a traumatic experience that has left her scarred and untrusting of men. Ray has a strong, almost overwhelming personality. And though she’s shy and reserved around him at first, she eventually becomes comfortable with him. I can’t wait to see how this plays out as I move on to the next books in the series.
I was also quite pleased to see more of Sage and Jordan. Jordan’s love and protection of his daughter is the cutest thing ever. I love this couple and hope to continue to see more of them in the books to come.
Again, this is definitely a good follow-up. I would suggest reading Black Magic first though.
D. Camille has quickly jumped right onto my favorite author’s list.
This is the second in a series of books and so far both books 1 and 2 have been winners.
The series is about a group of 4 strong, wealthy, handsome and determined African American men (Jordan, Sean, Ray and young Trent) and the African American women of all shades and sizes that they love and protect. All the guys have secrets, but so do the women who are just as strong and mysterious as their men. The author has a nice style and the stories are well done balancing suspense and romance well. I prefer darker romance and erotica but this was more sweet than dark. Nonetheless, the books held my interest.
Nice to read African American romance that isn't about a baby mama drama, drug abuse and poverty, or sleeping with the boss. These African American women were making their own way and decisions, and doing so with class and grace. They are true partners with their men in every way. Can you say spy, how about cat burglar? Museum curator?
Book 1 is about Jordan and Sage (the spy), and book 2 is about Sean and Lily (the burglar). Both Jordan and Sean are billionaires that made money as assassins, along with Ray, but are now legitimate businessmen. However, when forced to protect their business and women, all three can and do handle their business using any means necessary. Trent, at a 17, is a recent addition to the original threesome of mid to late 30 years. He is the young brother of Jordan and Sean that, unknown to them both, was abandoned by his parents.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one better than the first one. Trent was my absolute favorite! Definitely a character to continue to look for. Also, I enjoyed the character's relationships with little Diamond, even though Jordan was doing the most, and Sage just irritates me. I adored Sean and Lily's relationship; the whole "blossoming" thing was very touching, and I certainly grew to like Sean more and more. The sweet-talking got a little "diabetic" at some points, then again, I'm not really a fluffy person. And Isabelle... my heart went out to her every time she popped up. I love her and I have no idea why yet, but I do. Ray, on the other hand, is still crazy and childish, but in the funniest way possible. I can't wait to see how Isabelle mellows him out.
I've fallen in love with them all. Ray, Sean, Jordan and Trent.. The storyline is one that will have you wishing you were a part of their family... The way the took him in after proving he was in fact their brother warmed my heart and restored my faith in FAMILY. I love the fact that you wrote about successful men who can thug it if necessary, but for the most part they conduct themselves with love and respect for one another as well as the ones they love.... We truly need more big brothers like them
I can honestly say I love book 2.... Sean and Lily have chemistry for days. I love their word play that they have with each other. this book focuses on Jordan Black assistant.... ha what a joke... Sean is sooooo much more. then there is the book surprise scene Stealer.... Trent... I loved him from by the moment he exploded on the pages. I saw tremendous growth from book 1 and I'm looking forward to reading more of D.Camille 's work.
I love this series!!! After reading book one I couldn't wait to continue on this journey. I love how all the characters are strong yet broken in some way. Loved the new addition of Trent love him. I love all the characters but RAY AKA SUN GOD is my absolute favorite. If your looking to laugh smile uncover secrets and enjoy black love and principles of hermetic woven in to a story than this is the book for you!!! Can't wait for book 4.
This books was so funny. Jay & Ray had me laughing the whole book. I love the bond Ray, jay, & Sean have. The way they all just took to trent was cool. I love how Trent information is always accurate...lol...Fixing to read book 3 now. D. Camille, I apologize for sleeping on these good pass books you have been publishing, playing catch up, now.
I'm loving this series. I love Sean, Jordan, Ray and now Trent. Can't wait to see ho w Trent develops. I know he's going to break some hearts. Was a little surprised when Sean turned out to be such a bad ass. Jordan and Ray are funny as hell. Can't wait to read the next book.
Great story line I enjoyed the the characters, the were a few errors and confusing lines at times but it was a good read I'm looking forward too finishing the series .
The second book to the series was even better then the first. I loved hour the story is unfolding and more characters are being introduced. Can't wait to see what happens next
Almost same storyline but with a few twist and turns. Love the character development of Sean and Lily. I enjoyed this just like the first book. Looking forward to book 3.
