I enjoyed this one just as much (a little more) as the first one. I’m so glad the author didn’t drag everything out like she did in book one. This one moved and flowed as it should. I can’t wait to read book three.
Part 2 was highly anticipated and very good! I like that Devyn stood on business (for the most part) until she was ready. I don't like how Devyn and Azani were lied to for most of their lives for the soul purpose of a contract, I hope when they have kids, they decide to break that line because everyone, except Devyn's parents are unhappy. Something is truly wrong with Asad and I can wait until Azani puts BTA.
Lawddddddddd the way my heart dropped at the ending !!! Why him?! Just Why?! The devastation 😩😭I need part 3 ASAP!! Omg the way that I was with Dev and how she was standing on business at first but she was dragingggggg it!! I get he spoiled her so much she became a brat but thas only wit him.I wanted to shake her so bad!! Zani is bae !!! That man is literally Ciara’s prayer. He is so intentional with her and how he handles her. G did such a good job. He love Dev and do not play about her in anyway and ain’t gon let nobody else play with her . Big Zani wit the BDE all day everuday and beyond!! All I wanna say is I knew it..Nanna and G wasn’t slick!!!umhm😉 I would like for Asad to take the deepest dirt nap!!He gives me the ick🙄he gives bitter babymama and I’m sick of it!! Chileee I am too invested and don’t wanna get out ! I really enjoyed this book ! 10/10 highly recommend
However Devyn got on my nerves the whole book, she doesn't listen at all. She kept trying to go outside when she should have stayed inside, I think Zara and Savannah are both in on it because they both were texting when Devyn arrived and things got real shortly after both times. Then Devyn believing Asad and not hearing Azani out when and saying such hateful things to him right before he protects her at end is crazy work. I hope Azani doesn't remember her after and she has to live with him no longer loving her or something because she was dead wrong for how she behaved at the end. I had to take two stars off for her behavior throughout the book but especially at the end!
Baby this book was so anticipated and it delivered because WTF ! Devyn good job standing on busy babes but damn you pissed me off at the end because girl was the close scares not enough for you?
The fact that they lied to them all these years is crazy . Secrets, lies and more secrets because the grandparents? A baby ? They really just unaliving ppl because they felt like it ?
Ciara you definitely kept me interested the whole time now let me run and see what Duke and Duchess hitting on ✌🏽until next time !!!
You know a book is good when it genuinely pisses you off.
Devyn worked my nerves throughout this story, but at the same time, her feelings were completely valid. Everybody lied to her, every single person, and I know I wouldn’t know if I can trust any of them.
What really stood out to me was the cycle of trauma. Three generations kept passing the same pain down to the next generation. Instead of breaking the pattern, everyone just continued hurting each other because they couldn’t be with the people they truly loved. Not one person stopped and said, “Maybe there’s a better way than torturing ourselves and everyone around us.” It was frustrating to watch.
And the father? He operated from such a deep place of hurt that it created an incredible villain origin story. It doesn’t excuse his actions, but it definitely helped me understand how things got so out of control.
I cannot wait for Part 3. More than anything, I need Azani to know that we see him. So much of the story focused on Devyn’s emotions, her pain, and everything she endured that Azani’s suffering sometimes felt overlooked. He was carrying his own wounds while also knowing that his father was responsible for so much of the damage in his life. That’s a heavy burden. I’m hoping Book 3 gives Azani the love, care, and attention he deserves because he matters too.
I did have to knock my rating down a bit because of one of my biggest pet peeves. If you know someone is actively trying to kill you, why are you still outside roaming around like everything is normal? At some point, common sense has to enter the chat.
Overall, this book had me frustrated, emotional, invested, and desperate for the next installment, and that’s usually a sign of a story that did its job.
All I really have to say is I need the third book immediately! I instantly fell in love with book 1, and book 2 did not disappoint at all. Devyn and Azani went through it this book. While Devyn does love Azani and her family, I'm glad she took some time away from them to focus on herself. While they may not been near each other all the time, I loved that Azani made sure she was safe and had everything that she needed. I loved learning about Vivian and Alonzo, and their story made me happy Azani pursued Devyn the way he did. Should they have told her the truth? Of course, but at least they got to learn how to genuinely love each other. Asad was getting on my nerves this book, and I hate that Devyn didn't try to listen to Azani at the end. I understand her because she has already been through so much, and her trust was already broken before. That cliffhanger hurt me, but I am so excited for the next book.
4.5⭐️ Wow! All the tea was coming out in this one. I loved that we got more of the backstory behind both families, giving more insight into why some of the characters acted the way they did. The pining and yearning pulled at my heartstrings.
But Devyn? She ran me hot. 🙄 Like, I understand how frustrating the situation was, but COME ON NOW!!! It's one thing when a man is saying all the right things and not backing them up with his actions, but Azani was on a whole different level. Top-tier, honey!
I'm still so deeply invested in this series and can't wait for Book 3. Lawd...I need to see the aftermath. I need answers! 😭
Devyn tested every ounce of my patience in this book. Sis was working my last nerve! Meanwhile, Azani was doing everything he knew to protect her, and she was so hardheaded she couldn't see what was right in front of her.
The biggest strength of this book was the reveals. Secret after secret came to light, and more than one had me staring at the page because I did not see it coming. Every answer seemed to open the door to an even bigger question.
This was an excellent follow-up to Book 1. The stakes were higher, the twists kept coming, and by the time I reached the last page, I was already ready to start Book 3. Give me the next book immediately!
When those secrets starting fly out they were moving faster than Mexican music chile 😭😭😭… like neither one of them couldn’t catch a dag on break! Devin needed a minute to herself and she deserve that! Althought it was hard fot Azani he loves her enough to give her that! They really do deserve each other the love they share is something real. I can’t wait until they are able to just enjoy each other without all of the chaos. Asad NEEDS TO GO AND I MEAN IMMEDIATELY! I put two and two together as bad as I wanted to be wrong 😩… Azani really didn’t know and this might be what breaks him and Dev I need book 3 by midnight 😭😭😭😭
Devyn had me read to slap her so many times in this book. Now he told you he didn’t know and we all know Asad is crazy and doesn’t want his own son to have love like him. Azani said he didn’t know now listen to him. Don’t yell his name now when you were not listening to him. He said get your ass in the car or back in the building.
Ciara why you got me talking like this.
Book 1 was excellent. 📖👀🔥 Book 2 was even better. 📖👀🔥 Book 3 I know Devyn will be the brat she is but I know it will all come together and end on a good note.

4.2 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book was so hard to get through for me. We spent 85% of this book, enduring her being angry at him. Even when she knew what happened and the circumstances, she was still mad and blamed him for everything. He graveled and bought her things and did the most to get her back and I hate that. I would have loved to see them be on each other side more. Even after she knew they had a huge adversary out there, she still put him in danger and that’s dumb as hell. Am I still gonna read book 3, absolutely! It has to be better than this book.
I’m going to need Dev to get back to being baddie .. just a married baddie of course. I don’t like how her character shifted from the first book. Like gurl everyoneeee have lost something, not just you. I also have a soft spot for her and giving her grace a little because she’s been in the dark for so long. I mean she didn’t even know what her family really does. I’m also disappointed about this CLIFFHANGER because why couldn’t everything be in this book. I hate when authors drag things out. The first book was longer than this second book. Everything could have ended with this second book.
Ok, so I’m invested and want to know how it all ends, but I’ve lost my patience with Devyn. It’s takes to much energy to like her at this point, she is just giving off spoiled brat and I can’t. I mean bad bit** where?!? Azani real talk deserves better than her!
This book was fantastic it kept me on my toes I couldn’t put it down I could relate to all the characters except Azani dad that man was the worst I loved all the twist and turns I can’t wait for part three I read 1 and 2 in 2 days this series was one for the books and I recommend this series to all I think dad did way more but only part three will tell
I guess you can say misery loves company and that dam Assad was truly that and how does Zaria play in this world and I’m hoping bratty baby is already pregnant and I hope they get rid of the blood oath after this and nanna and lonni can be together I can’t wait to see this plays out see you soon
This has all the feels you can think of. I was feeling so emotions while reading this . But Devyn pissed me off at the end . This book was so good can’t wait till part 3
I was patiently waiting on this book, only to be very disappointed. The entire book was Devyn whining and no real storyline. I can’t possibly imagine what more need to be said outside of what happened on the last page. Definitely not reading part 3!
At this point I dont I ow what to do with myself. This book has so many twists and turns, and NOW I STILL HAVE TO WAIT. This story is so good. I am going to suggest it to anyone looking for a book. GREAT JOB
I almost didn’t give it five stars because of the damn cliffhanger but that wouldn’t be fair 🤣 I’m ready for some people to die, without giving any spoilers up.
As much as Azani and Dev love each other they can’t shake the past. Dev’s emotions are always on 1,000 when she gets angry at Azani and fails to listen to reason at times. This is dangerous for Azani because it leaves him emotionally vulnerable about Dev.
This is my first series with this author and definitely not my last. Both books 1 & 2 are great reads, grabbed me from the beginning and now I can’t wait for book 3 to be released! Good job Ciara!
Ciara know damn well she wrong fir that cliffhanger! Azani and Devyn are both reeling from revelations book 2 gives us si many back stories but then leaves us with bated breath
