More Like a Work Trip Than a Vacation—But Well Worth the Read! Shaky Start with a Powerful, Thought-Provoking Ending
So I started this book very late at night. I fell asleep after the start of Chapter 3, and then I woke up early, refreshed around 2:50 in the morning, and thought, why not start reading? I decided not to completely waste my sleeping opportunity, but I spent the morning dabbling with the story a bit and was done before lunchtime.
If beachy contemporary novels read like being on vacation, this one reads more like a work trip—although there was a vacation hosting thrown in. Although the usual start was a bit shaky because it felt like work, by the end I was enlightened and had a lot to reflect on. I think this is a good book; this story left me with a lot to think about toward the end. It is sad that it's going to slow down on releasing, but it is understandable. The last couple of books have read a lot like a handbook, so I'll appreciate the delayed release if it means a better story.
Recommend to others: Yes. As the author's note states: "If you are currently sitting in the uncomfortable space of not knowing what comes next, this book is for you." You can certainly read this book even if it does not apply to you—it doesn't apply to me, and I enjoyed it.

My thoughts: 📒 Before I start this book, I just want to complain one more time about the wait! It is September and July's book is just now being released! This is why I prefer when they write the entire series and then do scheduled releases. Now that's off my chest, I can start.

So glad to see the progression of our main character. When I first googled the timeline for the rest of the series, it said it was finished after this one, but upon reading the authors note, im glad to see its not over but will release at a slower pace.
