Where I got the book: Kindle freebie.
I’ve been following Nick Loper’s Side Hustle Nation podcasts for a few months, as part of my effort to fully embrace entrepreneurship, marketing and all the non-writing stuff that goes into being a serious indie writer. Writing a non-fiction book is seen as a solid passive income generation idea by entrepreneurs, and I have to say that the ones I follow, including Nick, write well enough that they’re not being totally fatuous in believing that they can sell books. In addition, they know how to market so as long as they have something reasonably useful to say, they CAN sell books.
So this book is, basically, a compendium of side hustle ideas gathered from Nick’s interviews on his podcast. I should explain for the uninitiated that a side hustle is an income-generating pursuit that exists independently of your day job, and that successful side hustlers often aim at quitting the day job altogether. At the very least, having a side hustle (or two, or three) means that you’re diversifying your income and not relying wholly on your day job in an age where employees = headcount and you may be certain of your next paycheck, but perhaps not the one after that.
Unfortunately (and no doubt in order to maximize the value of the Kindle sample) this book opens with the first side hustle story rather than starting with the introduction, so you’ll need to back up a bit to discover the basic ideas about side hustling that, if you’ve never done this before, you probably need to know. The most important of these is that a side hustle with real potential isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme—in fact, you’ll be working harder than you ever have before. But you’re doing it with your freedom in mind, so it’s worth it.
The meat of the book is divided into four sections, with at least two examples in each section. It covers how people have turned sharing platforms such as Lyft or Craigslist to serious advantage; how they’ve hustled their own skills into a solid side income; how they’ve used online teaching platforms to help other people and make money at the same time; and how they’ve leveraged the Amazon marketplace. At the time of writing, these are all fairly hot areas where hard work and a smart attitude can still bring in the big bucks. Over time, of course, the marketplaces get flooded, people begin to game them or scam them and the ROI starts dropping, so advice of this kind has an overall expiration date—but they’re sound examples of the digital marketplace in action seeded with real live success stories.
If you follow the podcasts, this book won’t be new to you. But to someone trying to grasp what this whole side hustle business is about, this is a short, entertaining primer that might give you some ideas of your own.

A timely resource amid the Covid 19 virus by which many are either laid off or have become unemployed, and have time on their hands to generate extra income. Loper’s book, if nothing else, will ignite creativity and inspiration for those trying to figure out what they may be able to offer the marketplace to make extra money. From products and services, to everything in between Loper provides literally hundreds of examples and stories of those who have succeeded in earning income from side gigs. Many of these people turned their gigs into full time high income one generating livelihoods. Lover has a website and you can sign up for a newsletter to stoke your inspiration and start earning income immediately!

I think the author must've revamped this book recently. The edition I read had a different cover, slightly different title, and I believe the version I read was much longer. Pretty sure it's the same book, though, as the author doesn't have all that many.
I loved this book! I was reading a different book entirely, a print book, a real page turner...and I took a break from it to read this book. Pretty rare for me. I also read this entire book in one day. Also pretty rare for me.I found it to be packed with useful information and enlightening success stories.

This book had absolutely nothing new to offer me but it could be a tremendous resource for someone who knew absolutely nothing about working side jobs on and off the web. Almost everything mentioned in the book could be discovered using basic web search routines. Please keep in mind that I'm very experienced with using the Information Superhighway so don't judge this book or its author by what I have said. Like I said, this book would be a goos resource for the absolute neophyte.

Nice work, this is quick, no nonsense read on starting side hustles
Nick writes in a very simple easy to understand format. The book contains lots of helpful advice and even provides a framework for thinking about ways to monetize. In addition to the advice he also interviews people and provides links to other information sources. I recommend this book to someone thinking about getting started with a side hustle. Definitely worth the time.

Great read for anyone seeking ideas for a side hustle
The book is free but could be sold for a price because the information is that good. Real case studies of side hustlers. The best part is they explain how they got started and what worked well. Tips and links to resources are offered. It's written as if a friend were giving you advice. I also recommend the podcast.

Very Informative
I really learned alot in this read. I wanted to learn about the best ways to identify and develop ways of making more money. This book is full of ideas and examples of others who have done just that. The strategies and helpful in getting started. I don't feel so much out on a limb anymore.

Little Nuggets Not Read Elsewhere
I got this free and was expecting it to be like most freebies - a rehash of ideas commonly on Google. But I have found ideas directly from this book that I intend to apply with no further embellishment. Also, by thinking on what I read, I found it very rewarding to start to create my own business planning ideas. A+++

I really liked this little book! Our society does a good job of over-complicating everything, especially when it comes to work. This book provides a simple structure and gives numerous examples of how to make money on the side very easily, with minimal effort. I appreciate the willingness of the authors and business owners to share their stories and their secrets, as simple as they are.

Absolutely worth the time invested.
I used the Alexa app to read this book to me with Kindle assist while at work. It took me a while to complete this book; however, time well spent with the information I learned.

This book is aimed more towards those who have never done side hustles. If you can overlook the amount of self-promotion in the book, it is still an ok read to get a new idea you may have not considered before. It’s not a 4 or 5 star because it felt more of an ad for his own digital content.
