The Blob...in my shoes

Rate this book
If you found a substance that no one in the world knew about and would absolutely guarantee you success and a bright future, would you use it? Is it legal? Would it be cheating if you used it in a track meet? No one really knows--and no one can know. It`s an experimental synthetic substance, a blob, and close enough to magic for two high school boys. Eldon sees his shot at an Olympic dream, while Tom seeks revenge on the school's reigning track star. They step into a minefield of ethics as they try to keep the substance a secret. Things are not what they seem as the substance is deteriorating. The boys are under the gun as the 'best before' date rapidly approaches. So does the final track meet. Big risk, big reward.

High school senior, Eldon, needs a win.
His father’s life-changing accident and the family’s subsequent slide into poverty have left him with only one chance at a university education. A scholarship.
But one thing stands in the way. Stu. The schools reigning track champion and all-round bad guy.
When Eldon’s scientific friend, Tom, discovers a substance that just might mean the difference between a life spent pumping gas or a university fuelled career, Eldon is faced with a decision.
The Blob in my Shoes is a fun, headlong race with a pair of normal, Canadian teenagers. Teenagers faced with the challenges and complications of a totally abnormal situation.
Fast-paced and exciting, from the uncertainly and agony of competition through to the defence of honour and with just a little bit of first love thrown in, the action never stops.
Teens and adults alike will enjoy this fun and just a bit freaky trip around the school track.
