Known for his outlaw ways, Lee Mattingly has hopes of changing his reputation when he becomes one of the owners of a new hotel. Business is good until Ike Nash, a man with money and power, takes all that Lee has.
Lee only knows one way to respond, and that’s with violence. Along the way, Lee gets caught up in a robbery, a poker game, relationships, Huntsville prison, and revenge.
I have read a lot of books and this one ranks near the top. A superb novel and one that all western fans will enjoy. I could go on with glowing adjectives but, there is really no need. Get this book and enjoy a few hours of genuine entertainment. So, (Giddy Up.)
This is supposed to be a stand alone book but it's not. Too many characters show up that you have no background on. It leaves you with holes in the story. No real background on the main characters. Why are Lee and Brian partners? Brian is 55. That's 20 years older then Lee. Yet he follows him blindly into gunfights . Into prison. Into bad decisions. Why this devotion? Wake up Brian. Lee is an asshole and going to get you killed.
The romance was a flop also. Lee and April stare at each other like a couple of 13 year olds and you're supposed to think there is a deep connection. He didn't even ask her to dinner. Also April's mothering skills are a little off. You really shouldn't let strange men you've just met take your 10 year old daughter to the bathroom. Frankly I don't know of too many men who would do it. Not if there was any woman around. April's not too bright either. Suffice it to say the rest of this series is safe from me.

A TC. Landon Saga (6)/A New Hotel/Gambling/Murder/Gunfightd/Outlaws Again
TC. Had penned the sixth Landon Saga Western novel. Lee and Ross finish the hotel and their arch enemy plans to own it. A plan is set in motion to cheat the owners out of their hotel. Involved are a gambler and the crooked Ike. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
Tell, knows how to write a story. This was a compilation of the first five books in the Landon Saga except it was written through Lee Mattingly's point of view. If you haven't read the first five don't bother now. I was disappointed as I wanted something from Lee. I never got it. Excellent book as always. Sorry, Mr. Cotten.
