A conflicted incubus...
Laurant knows sex. As an incubus, he needs it to live. What he doesn’t need or understand are all those sticky and obnoxious ooey gooey emotions that humans intertwine with the physical act of enjoyment. So he’s less than pleased with his firsthand introduction to those feelings in reference to his last meal…they’re actually driving him insane. Crazy enough that he’ll face off against the baddest of his kind to keep his delectable morsel safe and sound and hopefully on his menu.

Sure, in a moment of duress, Gun fed Laurant. The demon lay on the floor, bleeding from a wound meant for him—what else could he do but enjoy the ride the sex demon needed to heal. Unfortunately, the dangerous conclusion and surprising aftermath of their coupling only cements Gun’s need to know who he is and where he comes from…and to keep his distance from the enticing and deadly incubus.
So it really sucks when the incubus may be the only one that can keep him alive.

Ah, Laurant, you are the sexiest demon around. As you should be, since you're an incubus. Last I saw you, you had suffered an injury meant for Gun, and Gun had to feed you so you wouldn't die. Talk about a seriously hot scene. But you thought you'd killed Gun during the feeding it was so powerful. Except you didn't. So, Laurant, the next question we're all wondering about is… Who or what is Gun?
That was two months ago, and Laurant still has no clue. Unfortunately, the ruling body of incubi, The Others, are looking for him, believing he killed Gun and performed a "true feeding", something which their kind are forbidden to do. Laurant has no way of explaining what happened, and since he hasn't seen Gun since that night… Hmmm. What to do? What to do? Gun is still trying to figure out who he is and where he came from, with little luck. It's not until Jet brings Nico to visit that certain secrets are revealed.
As usual, Havan has left me stumbling, with no real answers in sight. I still don't know what kind of supe Gun is, and I have no clue whether he and Laurant are going to make it. But Havan has definitely left me yearning for more.

Laurant is in deep trouble, the ruling council of the incubus believe he has killed someone when feeding,punishable by death. What else would account for his surge in power. Gun, in the meantime, is not sure he is human. Something/someone is blocking his memories. Gun wants Laurant gone, but there is some thing that draws Laurant to him. Is Laurant falling in love. Oh perish the thought!
Wowie, zowie, this is so much fun. I can tell that Havan is having a great time with these characters. Pulp Friction is really rocking this series.

I think I remember that I flipped out reading Blind Stud, Book 1 in this Havan Fellows entry to the newest Pulp Friction Series. I think my review kept echoing Wow just Wow! So here I sit just finishing the second installment Stud Player, and still wish to say Wow just Wow!
All who have followed Laura Harner and Tom Webb with their sensational series Altered States find this continuation into the Pulp Fiction Series a wonderful idea. Bringing the four Pulp Friction authors to NOLA . They will have a rotation of 20 paranormal stories, each rotating until its final conclusion; this is going to be a huge success as I see it.
Havan has began her series with Laurant a sexy, sexy incubus finding a man appearing dazed in the middle of the street, not knowing who he is or how he got there. Havan has a way of keeping the reader guessing as she did in her Pulp 2014 series with me mumbling over and over ‘Who is Rowen Smithe?’ Remember that?
Everyone coming into contact with Gun, get a ‘strange feeling’ yet each species feels Gun is human. So when Laurant has these human warm and squishy feelings about Gun after feeding from him, we are all asking ‘What Is Gun????’ and Gun is asking this as well.
Great show down as Laurant and his Dad have their moment when the enforcement council called ‘The Others’ come to take Laurant to his death since they see his powers have spiked significantly and the only reason for this would be he had a ‘true feeding’. (This would mean the killing of a human.) While Gun is defending himself and Laurant from The Others some really interesting things occur. The story is fresh and tantalizing as we all wonder aloud…..What is Gun????

This book two of Havan’s series and they must be read in order. It also helps to read the others in this collection as well and I have listed them below my review.
Laurant’s father pays him a visit that he is being hunted by The Others and urges him to leave and go to his sisters. He is reluctant wanting to know more about Gun.
Gun wants to know more about himself as well. All he seems to know as he thought he was an investigator and all of a sudden supernatural beings he didn’t know existed are hunting humor helping him.
I like this story a lot. There is so much intrigue and mystery. Maybe too much. I found myself a bit confused at times as to who The Others were and I have read the first book.
I love Gun and how he is trying to find himself. I love Laurant with his humor and being an incubus how he uses a lot of sexual innuendos. Be prepared for a bit of a chuckle as well as nail biting suspense.
If you like unusual supernatural beings, mystery, suspense, vampires and connected stories you will love this !

Original Blog Post: Review Request: Pulp Friction 2015 Series Round Two Whooooeee! x2
Laurant is in a whole lot of trouble and Gun is as mysterious as ever. There is something working against his every move, especially with his long lost memories. Who it is? What it is? This is not revealed. We are left with more mysteries and just placed me at a point where I groaned in frustration. Again, this is round two, so if I get the plan of this arc right, I won't know anything until book three. Which is in round three. Which I still have to wait out for. Which leaves me wanting to cuddle Laurant and tell him: all will be well.
So yes, I am falling in love with Laurant. Well, he is a incubus.

Four and a half stars!
By far my favorite line in this book was about Uncle Hugh. It’s a hysterical reference that was so perfectly placed. I cracked up far longer than was necessary. There are so many more clues about who Gun is in this book. I’ve got some guesses but not because there’s any real hints that I’ve deciphered from context. I found Laurant’s dad quite interesting. He’s also not exactly as he appears either. I’m hoping there will be more about him as the series progresses. The Others were interesting. I didn’t see those events happening. However there are still questions left unanswered. I can’t wait to read more.

I'm loving this series again!!!!! Laurant, the sexy sexy man, I love him, he's smart ass comments Crack me up. And Gun, hmmmm? Love the interaction between these 2. Loved how Laurant stood his ground with his father. And of course you just keep me guessing LOL

Laurant almost killed Gun during a true feed but couldn't. The question now even for Gun is what kind of supe is he? It's great to see all the recurring characters n each book.
