The eagerly awaited fourth part (book three) of the Hidden Secrets Saga, Compelled continues the journey into the deliciously unique take on werewolves, witches and the living dead!

The secrets of her past have been revealed, but Rouge’s life is still shrouded in mystery. She has learned more and still feels like she had merely scratched the surface as more questions arise that she must find answers to.

The Grollics want her dead, she’s forbidden to be with the boy she loves, and her brother – who is the enemy – may be the only one she can trust. The deeper she digs into the past, the more trouble awaits.

Can she find answers in the ancient journal she carries, or is she opening Pandora’s box?

Wanita May grew up in the fruit belt of Ontario - St.Catharines. Crazy-happy childhood, she always has had a vivid imagination and loads of energy.

The youngest of six -- four older brothers, and a sister -- taught her at a young age to be competitive in all aspects of life.

At sixteen, she began competing in athletics (track and field) and before she turned seventeen, she was representing Canada in high jump. She continued to compete, breaking Canada's JR High Jump record (1.92m - 6' 3 1/2" for those metric-ly challenged). She attented University of Toronto, and Kansas State University - winning CIAU's and becoming All-American 6x - NCAA Indoors Runner Up + more.

But you're not interested in her athletic career - unless of course you're curious to know she stands 1.70m (5'7") and has jumped 20cm over her head on more than one occassion. She's represented Canada at the World Championships, World Jrs., won Francophone Games, and loved every minute of every competition. From the grueling workouts, the crazy weights she lifted on her back, the days she thought her lungs were going to spit out of her mouth for lack of oxygen, the travelling around the world and the opportunity to read - her favourite past time.

Life continued with her husband (a distance runner from Liverpool, UK, who she met at KSU) and then their first, then second and finally third child. Their house became full of more imagination and stories.

Wanita and her husband run an online business, dealing in antiques and collectables - particularly jewelry and porcelain (one of the business' website: www.wadeincanada.com ).

After her father passed away in 2009, from a six-year battle with cancer (which she still believes he won the fight against), she began to write again. A passion she'd loved for years, but realized life was too short to keep putting it off.

Her first book, Rae of Hope - from the Chronicles of Kerrigan - will be available October 2011 by kNight Romance Publishing.

She is currently represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency. Wanita is a writer of Young Adult, Fantasy Fiction and where ever else her little muses take her.

This was very short and didn't change much of what was going on. I absolutely hated the ending I was in tears. She added a new male to Rouges life and it's interfering with her and Michael. I am not happy about the addition of Joshua. We have seen a little more into the Grolic book. we also got to her about her brother. Also a little more of the power Rouge hold within herself. the end of the book was just heart breaking. I can't tell you all the secrets still an excellent read. I cannot wait for the next book!

So if you haven't figured out by now this is the fourth book in this series. If you read my last review on book three in this series I really felt that book three was much more of a filler-ish book and probably not needed. Though in book three we do get to learn more about Rouge and meet her long lost brother Rob. A brother that she had no idea that she had.

So now on to book four, this book is much longer than book three and thankfully picks up basically where book three left off...... Rouge, Micheal, and Rob are all the run from Rob's former Grollic pack, after he killed one of his pack members. When that Grollic member was going to kill Rouge (and if you haven't read any of these books I'm sorry if this is a spoiler for you)!!!!!!

I have to say though I did become a little bit frustrated with Rouge and Micheal in this book. Rouge had a bit of a chip on her shoulder in this book and was throwing attitude around left and right. Though I could understand where she was coming from since it was obvious that secrets were being kept from her and she was learning more about herself.....

And Micheal...... I'm not sure what was up with him in this book. It was obvious it had an attitude in this book also and that he was hiding thing's from Rouge. That he knew more than what he was letting on and he didn't like the fact that Rob was calling him out on it.

I did like the fact that Rob and Rouge seemed to bond a little bit in this book and both seemed to want to build a brother/sister relationship with each other. And Mrs. May does introduce us to a new character into this book and I'm not quite sure what to make of him yet.

I'm giving this book 4 Star's out of 5 and on to the next one!!!!

Another book that doesn't complete a story.

Things get complicated. More key characters are added to the story, yet we don't get to know them.

Rouge and Michael further their romance, but it still seems to be based on nothing more than "I love you." Conflict grows amongst the group around Rouge

More war fighting and several references to sex and one sex scene with little description beyond removing clothes.

The action is fast-paced and the plot unfolding. More mysteries surface and Rouge has to make some hard decisions. Very enjoyable.

Oh my

Have your tissues ready, this one might break your heart. Complications and more questions come with the answers Rouge was looking for.

Too Short but fantastic writing

I like the way the writer travels along with her other books that are in the series. There are many out there that would caution reading fictional books like these, but they are romantic and as this book reads_---- would really wish every one could just get along. And as in compelled, no, there are male pissing contests, jealousy, and heartache for those that just can't get passed their own egos and wind up hurting people that have tender hearts. Kind of leaves us hanging, but this was a serious book and can't hardly wait till I can read the next one. Hopefully it will have more humorous stuff and matters of the hearts will unfold. Happy Reading

I received a copy of this book from Hurricane Readers Review group.
I love reading WJ May's stories. They are inventive and keep me reading way past my bedtime. I can't wait to find out what happens next with Joshua and Rouge! Major plot twists in this book that I loved and was not expecting!
I do wish they were longer or at least cheaper, I think more people would buy them if the price matched the length and lack of editing. If I didn't receive them in exchange for a review I would be hesitant to purchase since there are so many books in her series. Box sets with one price of 5 or 6 dollars would be great for her books.

I'm glad that I have continued on past book 1 of this series. Now that Rouge has learned the secrets of her birth, found her true brother, and meet her future mate one must ask...where does this leave Micheal and his sister Grace.

Once the secrets of "the book" have been revealed; Rouge knows that her father's reign must end. Still in search of some much needed answers, she makes a plan but before everything has a chance to come into play...it changes.

It's a quick easy read...roughly 2 hours straight through.

I loved this series but Compelled was very short, it almost felt like more of a novella. Not much happened either, it seemed to be more of a 'filler' story to stretch the plot out over more books. It also felt like the addition of Joshua was rushed, especially with Rouge admitting so quickly that they were mates.
