Following an accident injuring her dad, twenty-four year old Leigh Storm returns home to the town she was once so desperate to escape.
It is only a matter of hours before she runs into Max ‘Manwhore’ Morgan. Dark eyed and dangerous to her heart, he is the very last person she wants to see. It might have been four years since she saw him last, but there’s no denying the chemistry between them is as potent as ever. Max makes it clear he isn't about to let her run again, even if he is the one thing Leigh vowed to herself she would never date: a street racer.
After racing tore apart her own family and left a path of destruction in its wake, Leigh decided long ago that it is not the life she wants for herself. But when a wager gone wrong threatens her dad’s livelihood, Leigh must go against everything she believes in.
This time there's more at stake on the quarter mile than just the family business—she’s risking her heart as well.
Jenny writes new adult romance. When she's not writing (or entertaining two little terrors)Jenny is glued to her Kindle, or plotting or daydreaming about hot tattooed heroes that will sweep a girl off her feet.
Leigh Storm comes from a small American town whose main source of entertainment is racing cars at the Quarter Mile strip. Muscle cars are a favourite, and Leigh is no stranger to an engine as she is the daughter of an ex-racer and garage owner, and niece to man who lost his life doing what he loved best.
Her vow is to never get involved with a racing driver, she's seen to much heartache. Not only did her Uncle die, but her mother left her father because racing got in the way of their relationship.
When her dad has an accident, she is forced to return to her home town that she tried to escape from 4 years prior.
Max Morgan is a racer with a reputation for loving the ladies, and other than a one night stand between them the night before she left, they have a tense relationship which involves lots of banter and insults flying between the two.
Max was gutted when she left, and despite never thinking he was good enough for her, he decides to persuade her to stay - he's doesn't want to let this second chance pass him by.
When a high stake bet goes wrong, Leigh has to race again to save her dad's garage and she is reminded of why she loved racing in the first place. _ _ _ _
This was an OK story, and I feel that with a bit more character development and more detail, it could have been a lot more gripping. For instance, I never really knew what had happened to Leigh in the four years she'd been away, what did she do with her time, how had she grown as a person? Why did Max think she was out of his league? I had a lot of unanswered questions whilst reading.
I think the premise was great, but it slightly missed the mark for me and the lack of depth resulted in it being just an OK read for me. If you are looking for a light NA read then this might be your bag.
This is a standalone, New Adult Romance, told in Leigh's POV.

Leigh Stone is one badass chick. She loves American Muscle cars, motorcycles and even knows how to fix them. The fact that she can pretty much out race any man, just makes her that much cooler.
After street racing basically left her family tattered and torn she vows never to date a racer. She moves away to live a mundane safe boring life. One phone call from the hospital has Leigh rushing back to her hometown to help her father.
Leigh was running from more than just racing. She was running from Max.
Through the years she has managed to avoid this sexy as hell racer but not this time. This time he's everywhere. He helps run her dad's shop, is friends with her friends and still holds the key to Leighs heart.
I love American muscle cars and the men who know how to treat them. This book brought me back to the days spent tooling in the garage on my brothers 68' Chevelle SS Malibu daydreaming about the next high school drag race.
This was a fun read. Leigh is sassy and sarcastic. Max is sexy and knows how to drive anything.... including Leigh. From the start I couldn't put this book down and look forward to reading more from this author.
This book started out really great…I loved the connection and chemistry between Max and Leigh, I loved the history of racing in her family and why she left town…but, somewhere along the way, things just started to lag, secondary characters became annoying and I just wasn’t invested in the HEA anymore.
Don’t get me wrong, I really liked Leigh and Max (and if I’m honest, which I am, I kind of loved Max)…but there was something missing. Maybe it was the fact that the book was entirely from Leigh’s POV. I just never fully felt like I knew what Max was thinking of feeling and I kept wishing for his POV. But, I did love them together. They had wicked chemistry and sexual tension. I loved how they fought, yet got along and understood each other. I couldn’t get enough of them together. (and yes, I totally pictured Brian and Mia as I read ;) )
My biggest issue was actually Leigh’s cousin and best friend…Aaron and Beth. Initially, I enjoyed them. I loved them together, and their relationships with Leigh. But after Leigh came back to town, neither of them seemed the least bit concerned that her father had been in an accident and was in the hospital with serious injuries. They were racing like they didn’t have a care in the world. And even working under the assumption that they didn’t yet know that he’d been in an accident and was in the hospital, once they found out, I expected more sympathy and or caring on their parts. But there was nothing. All Beth cared about was her upcoming wedding and getting on Leigh’s case about how she’s an adrenaline junkie and needs to get over herself and hook up with Max. Beth and Aaron were so self involved in each other, themselves and racing years ago, that they didn’t know that Leigh had had feelings for Max, let alone that she’d hooked up with him, so it was really hard for me to believe that they knew anything now. Especially since A) Leigh hadn’t told them; and B) Max doesn’t come off as a guy likely to spill his guts about the one that got away. I just got so frustrated with Beth and Aaron that I started cringing every time they came onto the scene.
Overall, the book was (mostly) enjoyable. I would definitely read more from the author…just not about Beth and Aaron.
Tall, dark, sexy, tattoos and drives fast cars, what's not to love about Max? Well that fact that he is a man whore. Leigh grew up surrounded by cars and racing. The racing tore her family apart when she was young, leaving her to raised by her dad. She swears she will never be a racer and will not date one either. She leaves her home town to peruse a "normal" life. Four years later a accident brings her back to care for father.
Leigh and Max had a love/hate relationship growing up. While Max was cocky and always had a girl on each arm, Leigh was shy and quite. The two are always fighting with each other. Max sees her as a challenge and Leigh hates that he races and is a whore. When they can finally stop bickering, the chemistry is off the charts! Four years ago when Leigh ran, it wasn't only the town she was running from. She try's to avoid Max when she returns, but the fates have different thoughts. When she finally lets down her defenses she discovers that Max is not what she thought at all. He actually has a sensitive side. And can work magic with his amazingly hot body.
I loved this book! Like I said earlier, fast cars and hot men? Sold! The side characters in the book were amazing and deserve their own books. The story line was well developed and flowed smoothly throughout the book, it wasn't rushed. Everyone should read - Max is well worth it!
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review, this does not influence my review in any shape or form. NOTE: This review should have been up Monday but my internet was giving me issues. Sorry for the delay.
To be honest the title is what really drew me into wanting to read Quarter Mile Hearts. I am a huge Fast and the Furious fan and the term Quarter Mile definitely had me thinking of Fast and the Furious. I have never read a book with racers and after finishing up Quarter Mile Hearts I can honestly say this won’t be the last.
If Jenny Siegel plans on continuing the series, I plan on reading on it.
Our story Quarter Mile Hearts is fast paced, sexy and oh did I mention hot racers? This book is enjoyable even if you don’t anything about the racing world.
Jenny gives you a bit of background so if you don’t know anything about cars you’ll understand the book which is really awesome.
The story is told in Leigh’s point of view but I would have definitely loved to have read Max’s point of view because I would have liked to see how he was feeling and thinking. It would’ve made the story so much more for me.
I also loved the message that is being made throughout the story, the importance of taking a risk. We’re all scared of something and it is important not to let that stop us because we probably are missing out something amazing. Like love.
Our Characters Leigh was tough. I loved that she wasn’t your typical weak girl the girl could handle her own. She didn’t really need anyone because she always stood on her own two feet. I loved seeing her go from this rough around the edges to a sweet loving character. I thought she grew from the first page to last.
Max sometimes would frustrate me because I wasn’t sure what he wanted but then I really fell for him. I did feel like there was so much left unknown about Max that I hope we do get a book from his perspective. He’s definitely romantic and seriously an amazing guy.
The Romance The sexual tension between Leigh and Max makes you want throw a bucket of water on them just to cool them down a bit.
I personally loved the way they would make each other angry, tease each other and challenge each other. For me it was a realistic relationship and I really loved Max and Leigh as a couple.
Max is totally swoonworthy and he isn’t your typical jerk that is so common in books now at days that you end up rolling your eyes. He is truly different. When it comes to proving he’s different he seriously is.
Overall, I personally enjoyed this book and if this is a series I plan on continuing it. It was different, it was fun and sexy. It had it’s moments where your heart would stop for a couple seconds because I was so nervous about the events going on. I was drawn to the story from the beginning to end. Even if you know nothing about cars, you will love this.
I got this for free at least a year ago and FINALLY I decided to read it since someone recommended it to me. I really enjoyed it especially because it was free. I don't know how much it is now but check it out if you like NA and are looking for something easy to read. I appreciated the fact these characters didn't annoy me whatsoever and I loved seeing two characters progress.

We enjoyed this book it was great story line well written and great plot line.....
It didn't take us all the way but it was an enjoyable read
Racing has been part of Leigh Storm’s family since before she was born.
It’s how her parents met.
It’s in her blood.
But she’s seen how racing has torn her family apart and she’s convinced herself that she would never get sucked into that world. Yet her love and passion for cars makes it harder, and harder to resist that world. So she decides to leave her hometown who’s sole interest and entertainment is racing.
Her father being in an accident is what forces her to come back home, and the very reasons that had driven her away from her hometown are still very much there. The worst being Max Morgan.
Max Morgan is a racer who loves the ladies, a player if you will, or so everyone thought. But he’s always been hung up on one girl, Leigh Storm. Unfortunately for him, she also sees him as a player and although she finds him mouth watering, she tries to stay away from him. That is until that one night before she leaves town. That one night full of unbelievable, hot passion.
So when Leigh comes back, Max wants his second chance to show Leigh who he really is.
Pretty soon Leigh finds out how high the stakes are, and to help her father out of a 25,000 debt, well there’s only one way she could….. and that’s RACING!
I definitely enjoyed this book. The chemistry between Leigh and Max was pretty intense. A great storyline with a strong plot, just can’t help but feel like there was a little something missing, but overall I did enjoy this read.
This was such a great fresh read! I haven't stumbled upon another racing/romance novel like this so I was very excited to give it a read. I always love a bad boy book and usually am swayed towards bikers, but as I said this was a much needed fresh story. I grew up in the country and around drag racing so I loved this even more. Growing up in a small town Leigh Storm and Max Morgan have known each other many years. Ever since he moved in and every girl fell instantly for him. Leigh stayed away, uninterested in any guys. But then one night she couldn't resist him. One night was all it took for her to fall instantly. So she moved hours away after to purpose her own life. Where she wasn't just a "Storm" or just a girl that hung out at the race track. She didn't want racing in her life, not after she saw how it destroyed her family. When another tragic incident with her dad brings Storm home she runs into Max much before she was ready. But even after all the bullshit they talk and how they treat each other awful, she feels something for him. She cant shake it. And it turns out he does too. This was a great, easy, sexy, fun read! I really enjoyed it and plan to read more books by Jenny Siegel. It had just the right amount of adventure and drama with the racing and family aspects. But also had the perfect amount of sultry sex. Just what a girl needs. Sex and adventure!
"Because there wasn't much to do for entertainment, as soon as you could drive, you went up to the quarter mile." This is the story of Max Morgan and Leigh Storm.
Their relationship was such an amazing roller coaster! The best part of the way the author writes the story is that it is completely believable. I read a lot of books that are like "eh, I guess that I could happen to be in the drive thru of McDonalds and catch the eye of a lawyer across the street, and end up with my fairy tale ending (with amazing sex)" #nothappening. But the evolution of these two is so sweet and believable, and I LOVED that about this book.
Max "Manwhore" Morgan is the six foot, tall, dark and handsome racer with "dangerously" good looks. He has dark eyes and a smile that will make your insides melt! "Fuck, he could give Magic Mike a run for his money."
Leigh Storm has come back to her hometown after her dad is injured and as there is nothing else to do in this town, she goes to the quarter mile to see a race with her friends. Her BFF Beth is also dating her cousin Aaron, and they all have a special bond that could be an amazing story in itself. Leigh has a strict no-racer dating policy, but can't seem to keep that Max scratch itched. #soulmatesforsure
I loved the funny banter between the two, especially before things get too serious with them. Leigh is obviously the queen of hard-to-get, but Max has no problem keeping up.
Everything gets serious when a bet that Leigh's dad placed doesn't get paid, and she has to take matters in to her own hands.
Reading the developments between the relationships of Max & Leigh, Leigh & her dad, Beth & Aaron, Kyle, & Even Hank & the nurse were so fun and well developed! I hope there are some spin-offs in the works! I would love to read more especially about Causey & Sugar.
There are a few twists that keep you on your toes, and I super duper LOVED that #loveagoodtwist.
One thing I would have liked to see was more detail in certain situations. Maybe more description of what people are wearing.
****SPOILER ALERT****
For the wedding, I wanted to envision what Leigh was wearing as a brides maid dress while Beth is getting ready. Instead, it describes her dress later in the chapter. I envision ALOT when I read, so stuff like that is a big deal to me. What happened to her old job???? WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE TOWN???? #notthatbigofadeal #butitkindofis
This book was a wonderful read, thank you to the amazing Jenny Seigel for providing us with an ARC!
From beginning to end, I found this read enjoyable, well written and a story that held my interest. Leigh Storm has to return to her hometown when her father is in a serious racing accident and is currently in hospital. This is the town that Leigh couldn't wait to escape, a town that held memories and people she wanted to forget. Racing has always been a part of Leigh's life, the quarter mile, cars and speed gave her the passion and buzz for racing, but she also knows the hurt, loss and how it can rip a family apart so the older she got, the more she realised that she doesn't want it to mess with her life anymore. Before leaving town years ago, Leigh had a love-hate relationship with the local badboy manwhore Max Morgan. The night before she left town, they connected, body, mind and soul! And memories of that one night have effected Leigh every day. But what she doesn't expect is the chemistry to still be there when she see's him once again. These two lead character have a great connection, the humour, banter and the sexual tension held me to the story. Max is tall, dark, handsome, no....scrap that he is SO FREAKING HOT! He is more mature than when they used to bicker to get a reaction out of each other, he is a racer AND he wants the girl who ran away. Leigh is funny, she is ballsy and the kind of heroine I'd want to be, she swore to herself that she would not get involved or commit to a racer....but will she follow her head or her heart? Jenny Siegal has written a believable novel with great depth. I loved the characters, the roller coaster they took us on, the twists and turns that were delivered and most of all, the authors writing style! I'd love to see further books from the supporting characters who also captured my attention, so will be on the look out for these!!! If you want something fast, with a strong heroine, a HOT AS HELL hero, with humour, heart and passion, one click this book.
This book was great! First, let me say I grew up in a house of car enthusiasts. My father worked for GM and we always had Camaros around that he was fixing up. My husband is a mechanic and he drives the same car as Max does (Subaru WRX). So, this book was right up my alley! That being said, its enjoyable even to non car people, I promise! I loved Leigh. I felt that she was so realistic. Her fear and her emotions were so believable and I really liked the way she handled them-she runs away at first but begins to admit them as the book goes on. It was a great character development. Oh and Max. Swoon. You think he is a manwhore but the things he says to Leigh will melt any frozen heart. Beth, Aaron, Sugar, Causey, and Leigh's dad all were great supporting characters that help Leigh so much. It really is a well written story! Hot cars, hot guys, and a girl mechanic/racer-its all good! My full review can be found at http://www.thebookdisciple.com
This book has it all. Muscle cars, Hot men, sassy women and a small town to boot. From page one I was hooked. Leigh Stone is set on getting out and staying away from her hometown. Street racing tore her family apart and she wants nothing to do with it. She moves away and tries to live a safe life. Everything is going well until she get a call from the hospital saying her father's been in an accident. She races (pun intended) home to help out and reconnect with her friends.she only has one problem...Max. Max is a street racer and works at Leigh's dad's shop. He's totally in love with Leigher who wants nothing to do with his Manwhore ways. This book is fun and sexy and fast. It brought me back to my high school days where muscle cars were cool and low riders drooled. I loved all the characters in this story and look forward to reading more from this author.
MY REVIEW This book ticked all the boxes for me, hot men, feisty female lead, care races, action making for a captivating read. I love the back and forth struggle of the fight for Leigh to stay away from Max even though the chemistry between them pulled them together at every turn. What i totally fell in love with this book was that i was Max pushing for him and Leigh to start a relationship, he is the one convincing Leigh to give them a go, i just found that really sexy. There are some twist and turns and some hold your breath moments to keep you entertained right until the last page. Jenny Siegel does not disappoint her writing is brilliant, her characters are well developed and her story lines are believable. This was such a good story with a wonderful happily ever after.
I loved this story of missed opportunities...it gripped me straight away the banter and will they won't they keep you guessing throughout the story and I cried, which is quite normal for me, but this time was tears of wow.....
The story of one girls fear of loving a racer, after losing her uncle and then subsequently her mum through no fault of her own. Then a boy's fear of showing any emotion to a girl he thinks is out of he's league. When Leigh Storm comes home after her dad has an accident she's also not looking forward to seeing Max Morgan but why?
As I said I loved this story it is a good read for all hopeless romantics.
I was given this book by the author for an honest review. I love racing books and bad boys and this book had both. The book was entertaining watching Max and Leigh go back and forth but at times I wanted to punch Max! All in all it was a good story with a happily ever after. It had everything from racing to jerky guys to action to adventure, and don't forget unknown love. Leigh makes him work for it though. I would definitely recommend this book to others as I enjoyed it and look forward to reading more from Jenny Seigel.
Leigh rushes home after her Dad was in an accident. She left 4 years ago and when she does come home she avoids Max, but this home visit isn't quick, and Max isn't avoidable this time. Leigh is forced to do something she swore she would never do... race! Racing has torn her family apart and taking some loved ones with it. Could she be next or can she win the race of all races, and find love with the one person she has been running from?
This book started out okay until I realised how much unsure h was about her every decision, but then I still continued because the trope seemed interesting. So the h and H had known each other since she was 18 years old and he was new in town. The hot, dangerous bad boy. They first met when she visited the place where all the racing takes place for the first time, which was the H's first race as well. He told her if he wins she'd have to go out with him and they have their very first kiss which was also *drumroll* or maybe *eyeroll* the h's first ever kiss. It was all good until his i don't know what to call it but let's go with dick move.
Here's an excerpt from their first meet-
Max won, and when he stepped out of his car, Josie Collins, the most popular girl in school, made a beeline for him. Her whole face lit up, like she’d won the fucking lottery as she sidled up to him. Not beating around the bush, she wrapped her arms around him, pressing her body against him, and kissed him full on his lips. It was a totally different kiss from the one I just shared with him. A wave of nausea washed over me and my stomach gave a painful twist as I stood rooted to the spot watching them. She had effectively erased my kiss from his lips, and I hated him for letting her do that. She leaned up and whispered something in his ear; a slow grin spread over his face, and he nodded his head. Josie pulled away, a look of satisfaction on her face, and I continued to watch in horror as he held open the passenger door and she climbed inside. So much for him wanting me to go for a ride with him. He rounded the hood to open his door and caught my eye over the roof. I glared at him with narrowed eyes, and he paled before quickly looking away and climbing into the Subaru.
After that night, Max always had a girl or two with him, and I stayed out of his way. After a race, there was always a buzz about how he’d won a race and what girl had ridden in his car, until I was sick hearing about him. I successfully stayed off his radar until that night when he goaded me into racing.
And his reason years later when she asked about this was that he?thought?he?wasn't?good?enough? for?her? He was all fine while kissing her before the race lord knows what changed his mind during the race that he went home with the ow on the very same day he asked the h out.
His reason to keep his distance was a very silly reason imo and idk what changed his mind years later to pursue her🤷🏻
~~~~~~
“You were beautiful. It took my breath away when I laid eyes on you.” “But you went away with another girl.” I frown, remembering the jealousy I felt seeing him with her. It confused the hell out of me, and that’s when I decided I would never let myself fall for Max Morgan. “What the fuck did I know? I told you it’s always been you. Even then. I drove Causey mad after that race asking about you.” “Seriously?” “Yeah, finally he told me to shut the fuck up about you, that I didn’t stand a chance. The more I saw you, the more I realized he was right. You were never with other guys, but then that night when I goaded you into racing… that was the start of our love-hate relationship.” “I avoided you on purpose. Didn’t want to admi-” “Admit what?” “Nothing,” I squeak and realize that I was on the verge of telling Max that I’ve always liked him, past the obvious sexual attraction.
~~~~~~
His answer didn't make any sense to me. I believe that if he really liked her then he should have pursued her instead of sleeping with other women throughout the years only to tell her that ShE wAs AlWaYS iT fOr HiM🤷🏻 Also the h always talked about how much of a manwhore the H is and how much she wishes not to be one of his 'floozies' as she likes to call the college girls who hang out with him at the racing place. Yet she just had 10% control on her body when it came to him because obviously he has a magical dick.

Leigh and Max story was incredible. I just loved how they both basically waited for one another. It was a great read. I seriously couldn't put it down.
Jenny Siegel does not disappoint in this new book. I was very excited to see she had a different book out and jumped on the opportunity to read it. WOW! It grabbed my attention and I loved it. I was counting down the minutes to when I could get back to reading this story. Max and Leigh (also nicknamed "Storm") which she hates, has an electric and hot connection from the very start of their introduction. With his sexy as sin smile and her love of American muscle cars they strike up an odd relationship. They seem to drive each other nuts and bicker and banter back and forth. This book definitely kept my attention. This book has a little bit of it all. Love, joy, betrayal, passion, suspense, anger, and it can make you a little sad. I give it a 5 star rating. Can't wait to see what else she has coming out next.
******Kim's Review!*****
I received an ARC of this book form my honest review.
This is a really great read, it has it all extremely hot men, a kick ass leading lady, fast cars and bikes and lastly racing!
Leigh Storm has to return to her home town to look after her dad, he's been in a car crash racing on the Quarter Mile(a well known racing spot in the town). Leigh hasn't lived in her home town for four years, she loves cars and racing but after seeing how racing has effected her family she has decided she will never live that life. That means not dating racers also! This is where we meet Max a racer who Is hot as sin and the man who Leigh shared a passionate drunken night with before she moved away, he's definitely a huge confusing complication!
Leigh is lucky enough to have a great family, from her Dad who is also a racer to her cousin Aaron who is again a racer and just so happens to be engaged to Leigh's best friend Beth!
The chemistry between Leigh and Max sizzles off the pages, she's so infuriating I want to tell her to just go for it and drop this stupid vow she's made! Anyone can see that Max is besotted with her- Leigh put the poor man out of his misery! This book had me hooked from start to finish an I'm hoping that this isn't the end of Leigh and Max's story!
Brilliantly written this is a great love story and I will definitely be recommending it. Five stars!

This book was different than most books I’ve ever read, and I LOVED it. Leigh Storm is the daughter of garage owner and small town racer. She attracted to bad boy/manwhore Max Morgan who also loves to race. Since racing has caused family tragedy for Leigh, she’s vowed to never be involved with a racer or race herself and moves away from the small town to escape. Due to a family emergency, she’s back in town and has to deal with issues and keep her distance from her UNHOLY ATTRACTION to Max. Can she avoid his manwhoreness? Or will she succumb to his tattooed hotness?
“The only man who can make my panties dampen instantly with a flash of his smile, a tilt of his head, or a crook of his finger. In fact, everything about that man screams wicked and bad but dammit if my body doesn’t react to that. Predictably, there are a number of girls with short ass skirts on stroking his car. Floozies, every single one of them. Just before I can look away, he catches my eye and his widen a fraction before his lips tip up into a lazy smile.”
I never knew how panty melting a muscle car racing book could be. Makes me want to start hanging out with good ol’ boys and watch car races. The flirting and teasing scenes between Leigh and Max were amusing to read, and I enjoyed Leigh playing hard to get. It didn’t take a whole lot for them to piss each other off.
I think I would have liked the relationship with Josh explained a little more in depth. But I guess if it was supposed to be shallow there wasn’t much of a relationship in the first place. Aaron and Beth were the cutest couple and great as her best friends. Overall, this was a wonderful new adult story that I would definitely say was a pleasure to read.
Leigh Storm knows Racing, its been a part of her life forever and its in her blood. But Leigh also knows the downsides to racing, the pain, the fear, and the discontent it can cause. With that knowledge, Leigh leaves home. Then her father is in an accident, and Leigh finds herself not only back home, but also falling right back into the life she had before. Complete with the race driver she's avoided for the past years.
Max hides his true self from everyone because he is also hiding a broken heart. Nobody would guess he's pining for one woman, he hides is so well. That is until said woman comes back to town and he knows he's got one chance at making this work. But Max has an uphill battle to fight to win over Leigh's heart and let her give up her fears.
Leigh and Max are wonderful characters, they are strong willed and have deep convictions, they also have absolutely no control over their feelings for the other. Whether they are trying to annoy, piss off, or love, they put their hearts into it. The banter is delicious and this book shows how love springs hate springs love again.
Quarter Mile Hearts was a quick read, pulling you in with the action and adventure of racing and keeping you there with the passion of two people fighting not to give in, even though that's a lost cause. The fears are real and portrayed in such a way you can totally understand why Leigh acts teh way she does, but also you are rooting for her to get over it as well.
I received an ARC of this book form my honest review.
This is a really great read! It has it all, extremely hot men, a kick ass leading lady, fast cars and bikes and lastly racing!
Leigh wanted to get out of her small town to escape everything, the quarter mile and especially Max Morgan. Leigh returns to town after her dad is in a bad racing accident and is in the hospital. She vowed that she would never date a racer, but that all changes when Max starts breaking down her wall little by little.
I LOVE Max! He knows what he wants and he is going to go for it. He is not letting her get away this time and let's her know that. He is willing to change his life to keep her around and is not wanting to take any risks!
This is a great book and I'm looking forward to see more from this author!
This book had my attention from the start, and kept it throughout. I loved everything about the story-line...especially MAX who is hot, arrogant, protective, and swoon-worthy. This book has action, humor, drama, and romance. Just about anything you could want. I can't wait to read Max's story.
* I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I think that car racing can be handled poorly in the hands of some authors, but this book proved that it can also be a fun subject to read about. I love how The romance developed. I also loved the cars and the amazing characters. I definately want more from this couple!
Quarter Mile Hearts is a new adult novel that centers around racing. Growing up, Leigh's life has always been revolved around racing because of her dad and it has also impacted her significantly. When she meets Max, she feels an instant connection to him but certain events happened that led her to fleeing her town. Four years later, she has returned for a short visit because of her father's accident, and that is when she bumps into Max again.
I'm an adrenaline junkie, and so reading a story that makes my heart race was such a joy. I really love the racing aspect of the story as it made the story so much more enjoyable. It was also interesting to learn more about street racing. The writing was engaging. I've attempted to read this novel before, and I couldn't get past the first paragraph but I believe I wasn't in the mood for a new adult novel. Because reading the story now, I was captivated by the storyline as well as the characters.
Leigh and Max have such great chemistry. Yes, they had an instant connection but it wasn't instant love as they had their fair share of arguments. Actually, a whole lot of arguments. They're always quick with their comebacks. It was nice to see them changing as they started to be more open and honest with each other. Beth and Aaron were really great side characters. They were witty and likable. I would have loved to read their story in another book.
If you're looking for a light and fun new adult novel, I definitely recommend picking this book up. It was so much fun reading through and getting to know the characters. Quarter Mile Hearts was such a lovely read.
AMY C.'S REVIEW 4 STARS
Speed, determination and sheer want claimed this book. Racing the quarter mile meant more than fast cars and American muscle, it meant finding oneself and figuring out how to come back to a life that was trying to be forgotten. Coming back home proves to be more of a challenge than Leigh thinks and suddenly she’s racing for more than just a simple prize. She’s racing for not only herself, she’s racing to repair what was once lost or hidden with others. This could prove to be the biggest win or loss of her life.
Leigh, or Storm as she is referred to by those who know her best, is a complex character who thinks she has life all figured out. She ran from the small town where she grew up looking for “something’ to be different. She wanted adventure beyond what she was living. She had no idea that the people the surrounded her were offering her the adventure her the adventure of a lifetime…she just had to open her eyes to see it. “I’m happy. I smile because, for the first time in a long time, I feel happy and settled, at peace.”
Max… mister sweet, sexy eyes and tossed dark hair waiting to woo the pants off any woman that walks by, or is he?? He’s mystery and muscle and not nearly as dangerous as he seems. He can fix and car that he gets his hands on but the one thing he wants to fix more than anything, is afraid to give him the chance. With a saucy smirk he sets out to win this race and sets out to prove to her that sticking around their small town can be the biggest adventure of their life.
This book was sweet and exciting. The thrill of the race and all kids of American muscle on every turn of every page. Ms. Siegel did a good job of explaining the characters well and making me feel the thrill of the quarter mile as much as each of the racers must have. This book was well written and had minimal angst which flowed and represented well. 4 star read for me!

Have you ever met someone who looked at you and made your insides mush? Leigh Storm has and his name was Max Morgan. Max knew the kind of effect he had a women, including Leigh. One night she learns just how mushy her body could get when it's underneath Max.
Fast forward to a few years later when Leigh comes back to her hometown to take care of her dad. And she runs into the one person she has tried to avoid, Max!
Have you ever met someone who you had crazy chemistry with? One touch is all it took to feel it?? After years of being away could Leigh finally admit what she wanted from Max?
I liked this book. It was hard not to like Leigh. And don't get me started on Max. The author did a good job creating character development which I think was a huge part of why I enjoyed it.
SAM'S REVIEW 4 STARS
A story of two people that misunderstanding and fear of love and relationship drew apart... Now they have a second chance if only they'd fight for them...
"I always knew Max Morgan was dangerous to my heart, and that hasn't changed."
Although the beginning of the story was very promising - you can't get better love story than bad boy, a racer, who falls for a tomboy girl who has never even been kissed till she was 18 - soon it started to get on my nerves that characters clung to their immature games and previous, and wrong, knowledge of the other's character, and especially irritating was Leigh, who can't decide what to do with her life, even though we find out pretty soon she definitely wants Max. So it's a bit confusing. The sex scenes were great, but after some time they've become too repetitive...
The book was simply okay. The story line seemed interesting, but didn't have any real development and the background of characters was pretty bland as well. As I said, the story had potential, but along the way, it lacked something special, something that will make it unique. I stand by my opinion that the characters lacked a bit of strength and decisiveness that would for sure bring some intensity to the story.
Not my favorite, and I wouldn't recommend it if you like angstier, more intense stories; otherwise, it's okay for a weekend read.
