Ruby Dixon is an author of Science Fiction Romance. She likes fated mates, baby-filled epilogues, and cinnamon roll heroes. She also likes to write biographies of herself in the third person, because it feels more important that way.

I had some pretty high hopes that this series would continue get better and better - until I read this one.

I enjoyed Lucky and Solo in Off Limits, but I tolerated them in this installment. Actually, let me rephrase that, I tolerated Lucky in this installment. She was just all over the place. I get that she just found out she's pregnant and is worried how that will affect her position in the gang, but I really just wanted to smack her. Also, if she thought so little of Solo then why is she even with him!? Want to know the final thing she did that done me in? What she did to her sister! I don't care if she was pregnant and hormonal, she was out of line.

Another thing that bothered me was the timeline of this story didn't match up with the previous books. And I'm pretty sure Lucky never mentioned that her and Gem had a sister in Off Limits. While this probably wouldn't annoy most readers, it bothered me. |shrugs|

I'm still giving it 3 stars because it is a continuation of the Bedlam Butcher's story. No matter how wacky the timeline is. It also set up the reader for the most perfect conclusion to this series - Double Dare You. There is always a reason to Ruby's madness. :D

This is "Slow Ride"-- Solo and Lucky's continuing quick read from the Bedlam Butcher's MC series. Lucky still feeling 'unlucky' and in doubt of her role in the MC as co-treasurer with Solo ... and even more so since she's pregnant. Remember she is Solo's co-treasurer but not feeling like his equal since there are rumors of a possible war with a rival MC... and members are coming up MIA and their rides found in chop shops in the area!!!!!!

“Damn it, I outrank you, Epic,” I say, pushing forward. “I have a patch, don’t I?” I tug at Solo’s vest and point at his treasurer patch above his breast. “Mine has the same shit this does. Don’t sit here and exclude me. Either I’m in this club or not.” ~Lucky

“Someone found Handlebar’s bike at a chop shop. Me and a few of the guys are going to go check it out. Ask some questions.” ~ Solo

So she's feeling like: "Why bother to fucking patch me if I’m still just going to be the club’s underpaid secretary? "

and Lucky's inner thoughts are all raging and very hormonal I'm guessing because listen up:

"K, I send, but even as I do, I’m pissed. So now I’m taking notes for my man for business he needs to handle? Should I go home and fix him dinner? Maybe go stand barefoot in the kitchen since I’m pregnant?"

Can Solo persuade his old lady and partner to realize his devotion to her over the MC or not! Or is all of this about double standards? Read this exciting read ... you won't regret it!

4-4.5 promising stars ****.5 !!!!

This is the conclusion to Lucky and Solo's story (who was the couple from the first book in this series). It was honestly okay. I do like how this book set up the last book in the series! I cannot wait to read that one!

Slow Ride was a hectic, funny ride. And hormonal one. I laughed a lot, Lucky was really badass in this story and the rest of characters played the second fiddle to her, even Solo.

I'm enjoying these Bedlam Butcher men and women so much. Lucky and Solo are the odd ones out in this club, Lucky is female and is the first patched female member of the MC club, her partner, Solo are a couple, so their set up is different to the rest of the club members. There is enough drama and action in this short story to set your heart racing and it packs a punch. Lucky has to prove herself as an MC member and being a girl and all, she does an awesome job of that while still holding onto her girl qualities. Loved their story.

Notes: this book was messy, I'm not sure I liked it much. Solo was pushy but Lucky wasn't easy to deal with either. It had an interesting ending, I'm going to read the last book.

This is number eighteen in the Motorcycle Club series and number six in the Bedlam Butchers MC series. Ruby Dixon is a new author to me and to be honest I always saw her Ice Planet books and just skipped over her because they're not my thing. But I am very impressed with this book and her Bear Bites series so I will definitely be reading more of her books. I believe this is the last book in this series and I really enjoyed it so I'm definitely going to read the previous ones. Lucky is the first and only female member of the Bedlam Butchers MC. She is their co-treasurer along with her ride partner and lover, Solo and her older brother, Gemini is their President. She just found out she's pregnant and she's upset about what the club will say and how this will effect her position in the club. She hasn't told Solo yet either because she's not sure if he actually wants a family. Things happen that make her doubt her confidence and she fears the club doesn't really see her as an equal. This was a really quick read but I really enjoyed it and I will definitely be reading the story of how Lucky and Solo became a couple.

I have to say, I've always been partial to gun-toting/sword wielding bad-ass heroines (think The Bride in Kill Bill). So since i'm biased this time, i like this particular episode of the Bedlam Butchers. One is because it features Lucky, the only female patched Bedlam Butchers, two is because she's finally put her big girl panties on, stopped whining about how a girl's going to be a BB and showed those bad guys she meant business - all while being hormonal and preggers. Go girl!

Other than a story about Lucky trying to come to terms with her new position in the club and her pregnancy, this is a short action-packed story that also introduces Becka, Lucky's kid sister who's come in from college. Unfortunately for her, she got tangled up with the drama going on among the clubs - which will be featured more in the next installation probably. Will she end up with 2 BB guys after all? The story ends with a cliffhanger.

God I love me some Solo. His dominant personality mixed with sensitivity, just does it for me. Ruby did an excellent job of exploring what it mean to be the only female patch member. I loved watching Lucky figure that out, and find her place. Their romance hit a rough road, and there were miscommunications that kept them at odds. I related to that. It's a real problem couples go through. The blend of everyday life and the M.C. world is what makes the Bedlam Butchers books so damn addictive, Not to mention the steamy sex. *Fans Face. If you're looking for a quick read to satisfy your needs for action, romance, and an alpha male you can love this is your book.

We are back in New Mexico with the Bedlam Butchers.

When Lucky finds out she is pregnant, she feels as though her whole world is ending. She is the only female patch holder, and a new one at that. How will this pregnancy affect her standing in the club?

Solo has no idea what is up with Lucky, but when she wants something “more traditional”, he assumes she wants to double up like the rest of the Butchers…

Not only is there drama in this book, there is also growth, sexy times at the gun range, and a hotel encounter that Solo may never want to mention again if he wants to live. Did I mention sex? Oh yes, and what HOT, HOT sex it is! ~ Devlynn, 5 stars

I was waiting for us to get another peek at Lucky and Solo though now that he has a partner, shouldn't he change his name? Hmmmm....

So it starts out with Lucky freaking out because she's a girl in an all male MC who feels she isn't being treated like an equal because of this and now she's pregnant and is definitely not going to be treated equal.

I liked Lucky a lot in her first book. I can see growing up around the environment of the club and being just in the fringe but not accepted because she has a vagina and not a penis BUT in this book, this chick pissed me off. She was brash, selfish and let's be honest, stupid as f***. Your man calls and says you and your sister need to get somewhere safe because shit is going down and what does this girl (because lets face it, her actions are that of a bratty girl then a smart woman) do? She leaves her kid sister and just drives off? All because her sister used common sense and showed more maturity by suggesting Lucky tell Solo she's pregnant before making any decisions. So kid sister, Becca, gets kidnapped while Lucky is out proving she has balls and people should take her serious. Though I will say she handled that like a boss. Making the gang members bring her flowers with double their payment? Yes!!!

Anyway, all ends well and she tells Solo and they are happy and the club will magically be fine with it. I actually liked Solo more in this one than the last one. I feel like between the two of them, he may love Lucky more than she loves him. Just the vibe I'm getting. Also, her getting pissed because he tried bringing another guy into the relationship? You told him you wanted traditional and to a Butcher that's traditional, I mean that's what I thought she meant. Ugh! She was frustrating. I also hate when people blame pregnancy hormones. Yes they are real and yes you can get emotional but that's not an excuse to be a crazy bitch, just saying. And this is coming from someone who has been pregnant and has two kids.

Also, lacked on the smut value but it was still a good read.

Honest forgot I was reading this lol.
Not because it's not good, it is. But it's basically just an update on one of the butcher's couples. Not a whole book.
I picked it up really late one night and read it almost to the end before I crashed, woke up the next morning and... forgot it was an individual book that I was reading. Oops.
So, here I was, late at night. Bored, looking for a Ruby book. Realized I forgot about this one, and finished it.

It was fun, cute, if you've read any of the butcher's books, it's just more of that. Nothing special, nothing bad. Just good.

I liked this little check on as to how things were going with The Only Girl Butcher. And it was...

*spoilers*

Not disappointing to find her pregnant, but definitely surprised. It did make for an interesting story about how she's dealing with it. I'm glad to see she didn't just turn into a mommy and stopped being a badass.
Doesn't completely feel like a thing that I wanted to read, but at the same time... it made the characters feel more real, if that makes any sense. Like... yeah, they're badass motorcycle gang people... and they still made an Oopsy and decided to keep it because... it's theirs.
I liked it.

I can see this not being everyone's cup of tea though. Pregnancy tends to get a lot of readers out of the vibe.

Alot of reviews did not like how Lucky acted in this part of her sotry but I thought it was pretty valid. She's been pushed down her whole life when it comes to the club. People didn't want to even be near her because of how unlucky she was. Now that she's patched, she feels like it should mean something. And after years in thankless service balancing the books and emotionally supporting her brothers and the gangs lifestyle, it should mean something. But it doesn't. You'd expect pushback from outsiders, she's a woman after all, and that's not common unless you're in a girl biker gang. But she at least expected acceptance and respect from her family, the Bedlam Butchers as whole. She's not getting it.

On top of that, she just found out she's pregnant, only one month in to her new relationship with her ride partner and lover, Solo. OF COURSE SHE'S GOING TO BE WHINY AS HELL.

Glad everything worked out in the end and she was able to put some people in their place.

Solo, sweet baby Solo. That motel room act you pulled, will forever make me giggle. Men are so clueless.

Seemed a little "drama for drama's sake". Had also completely forgotten that Gemini and Lucky had a younger sister, but whatever.

Also, when Solo is checking out prospects for Lucky, he mentions one who is a former cop whose badge got taken away. If he's a bad cop, I wouldn't want him at my back so why would the Butchers? A simple throw-away line like "his badge got taken from him on a technicality" or something like that would make me feel a lot better about this character's suitability for the club.

Oh man was Lucky so stupid and annoying in this one. All she did was cause a whole bunch of problems.
🙄 welp I'm done with these books. They're just not worth it. So short, barely a story, and now Lucky became an idiot.

2.5 Pregnancy Brain Stars

Solo and Lucky's story continues and my conclusion after reading this book is that: You shouldn't mess with a woman high in pregnancy hormones...
Every single action of Lucky is a result of her being pregnant... so rational...

Went back to Lucky and Solo who were in the first book, knew something was coming. Exciting listen too with a cliffhanger. Can’t wait to listen to the next book which I see is longer than a few hours. Yay.

So… Lucky kept complaining about how everyone treated her like a little girl… yet she acted like a little girl throwing a temper tantrum throughout the entire novella?

She was insufferable in this.

This was a good read, but I didn’t like it as much as the other Butchers books. She made some really dumb decisions and I kept rolling my eyes.

I wasn't expecting to revist Lucky and Solo...and I kind of wish we hadn't. When we last seen them we left them at a good spot and this just felt like unnecessary drama
