"There was once a very clever little boy named Augustine. Now, being clever can be rather fun. Clever little boys always have the right answer in school. Clever little boys always have things to do and things to say. But clever little boys often get into trouble." So begins this delightful story that will introduce your children to the greatest theologian the church has ever known. St. Augustine started life as a rambunctious and frequently naughty little boy. He grew into a wise, virtuous man who loved to teach about God and his Creation. Read on to learn more about this great man and all he has done for the Christian Church.
I was really worried about reading this book. From the cover I thought that it would be something I would not understand. I had no idea who St. Augustine was. This book got me interested in learning more about him and reading his books. It was a beginners glimpse into his journey from a pagan lifestyle to a Christian lifestyle. It was a quick read, but gave you enough to start your own journey. I definitely would recommend for anybody interested in past religion and also for homeschool parents and children. I could see showing the art work along with the story and going further into depth with each chapter. Great job!
A delightful, concise biography of St. Augustine. While it is geared towards the middle school crowd, it is a wonderful brush-up for adults on the details of St. Augustine's life and the impact he made not only on Christendom, but on the world at large.
