Okay, here's how I feel about this book! The story of Nanoc The Gnome Barbarian is one of the funniest books I have read in a very long time! I absolutely loved reading this book! I want to give it five stars. However, the editing and proofreading are atrocious! While this story of the first gnome barbarian is one of the best stories I've read, the editing has to be some of the worst! Under normal circumstances, I would have ditched this book within the first 20 or 30 pages. That's how much poor editing bothers me. But I couldn't help but laugh throughout the whole book. Pay close attention to the names of the characters. Part of the fun is trying to figure out what the author was actually saying. I still highly recommend this book. And plan to read any other books that I can find. I would just say this to Cal, "find a better editor!!!"
Lots of fun! You don't *need* any rpg background to enjoy it, but the more acquainted you are with the games, the funnier it is.
Am waiting for the next one, hope it's not one of those that takes years to write. (I am aware how snarky characters can get when one is trying to get them to stick to the script.)
