Blue Bandits #1

Reaper Unleashed

Rate this book
Reaper Colson has run the Blue Bird Strip Club for the Blue Bandits MC for ten years. He's seen all types of people in and out of his club, but when Sarah Banner walks in he can't seem to find either his balls or his manners. Because she's tying him up in knots and pissing him off to the point when he'd usually say screw it and walk away. Only she's under his skin and walking away might not be an option for him anymore.

Sarah Banner is desperate. She and her son are going to be living in her car if she doesn't find work. Walking into the Blue Bird was the hardest thing she'd ever done, but for her son Josh she'd do anything. Only the owner wasn't what she expected and giving up cardigans for leather skirts is going to be hard. Unleashing Reaper is going to be even harder.

Sarah Banner is struggling with being a single mom, she will do anything in her power to provide for her son. Even waking into the Blue Bird Strip Club for a waitress job. VP of the Blue Bandits MC Reaper Colson knows from the minute he sees Sarah that she is not the type of woman who should be in a strip club. He planned on turning her around and back out the door, but Sarah surprised him and he was hooked.

Reaper was a rough man, everyone in his crew as afraid of him but for whatever reason Sarah doesn't back down ever and it makes him want her more. Reaper decides he is going to be the only man in her and her sons life, but getting Sarah to comply is a bit more strategic then he thought and every time he thinks he has her figured out she surprises him.

This was a bit of a surprise, I didn't realize it was a futuristic story but I enjoyed it whole heartedly. Reaper and Sarah are a cataclysmic couple and Reaper struggles with how intense his feelings are for Sarah which causes a bit of turmoil along the way. Great read, looking forward to more.

What I didn't like?
I didn't like the fact the story takes place in 2075.
I'm not a big fan of "in the future books" I don't like predictions.
It took me a while to understand while they kept saying credits, and then I wondered why rent is a 1000 credits but a licensed day care is 40 credits a week; but a non-licensed is only 10 credits. Pretty cheap compared to rent, right?

Sarah at first was just plain, and a bit annoying... I didn't like how she allowed people to talk to her, and unfortunately she didn't come around until half of the book, where all of a sudden she has these super powers and is the female version of Reaper. What happened to the plain, cardigan wearing, classy girl? She had 12 father figures? That too was a bit extreme!

Then I didn't get the whole thing with her son having elf features. Was there something wrong with him, was he just extra small, or does it have something to do with the feature?

But besides it, it was a quick fun read!

This is an MC story set in the future in the year 2075. A year where the rich stay in a walled community and the rest of society live outside. They don’t use money but instead use credits but still function as a normal world? Reaper is head of the Blue Bandits MC and has a fearsome reputation to uphold. He has a mole in his club and needs to find out who is leaking information to their rival MC club, women are being raped and killed and he needs to get to the bottom of it all to protect his community.

Along comes Sarah with her son Josh who sends Reaper’s head in a spin, especially when she proves to be a feisty little madam. Sarah hasn’t had the best of upbringings and has been left as a single mother trying desperately to find a job. Reaper can’t resist her when she shows up in his strip club looking like a prim and proper lady and totally out of place in amongst the scantily clad women looking for said job but can he resist giving it to her amongst other things?

I really did like this story it was angsty and had a kick ass female lead which is a treat from the normal shy withdrawn woman you normally read about. However I did have a couple of little gripes. The whole futuristic thing I don’t think was needed. It was mentioned briefly in the beginning and apart from money being credits the story read like it was happening today in a normal world. I also wished the author had revisited the storyline from the beginning of the book where Sarah had informed Reaper that someone claiming to be a blue bandit was going around town telling every hiring company not to give her a job. I would liked to have seen an outcome to that. Overall the story was really enjoyable and different to what I had imagined a futuristic story to be.

I really enjoyed this book. Reaper came across as a tough guy but once he met his Sarah he melted. He was your typical gruff biker dude. Total hardcore and Sarah appeared very sweet and innocent. We learn later that there is more to Sarah than we originally thought. I fell in love with Reaper myself. This was a great read and is the writing from this author is improving greatly. I would recommend this book.

Surprised that I liked this book, the Hero is ott alpha jealous, possessive who went mine-mine-mine as soon as he saw the heroine. It took them a few weeks before hopping into bed and the hero did court the heroine in his own way. I liked the progress of the relationship. I just did not like how the woman is suddenly this badass gi jane type who can shoot and kill men easily. Overall, the book is enjoyable and I will be reading the rest of the series

I tried to post my review on my Nook and through B&N three times but it wouldn't take it so here goes for the last time. I FREAKIN LOVED THIS BOOK!! When I first saw it I wasn't sure if I wanted to read it or not. I liked the description but your only option was to buy it. No sample to read and no reviews.( Now I know why.) But I decided to give it a chance and I am so glad I did. When I started reading the prologue it says it takes place in the year 2075 and I thought OH HELL NO! I don't like sci-fi. But once I got into the book it reads just like present day. Okay, short and sweet. I laughed out loud, and cried a little, but the suspense got so intense I didn't want to stop long enough to go to the bathroom and almost peed my pants. Lol. If your looking for a great love story with gorgeous bad ass alpha bikers, a woman who seems sweet and innocent but is really a kick ass spitfire who will protect her family at any cost, a little boy who will melt your heart, and some wet your panties set your crotch on fire sex then I EXTREMELY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE! AND MICHELLE, I would REALLY LOVE to read more about the rest of the Blue Bandits MC PLEASE!!

A good MC book my only complaint is it's futuristic setting it's not mentioned in the blurb if it was I must admit I would have probably giving it a miss. I just thought it wasn't needed to make the story and seemed a little pointless.

Sarah, you are one fucking bad bitch. Female Reaper for sure, she's even scarier. I loved how no non sense she is and was screaming with joy every time she did something badass.

This book was a good read. They only problem I had was when something happens between Reaper and Sarah, you read what was in his head or his version of happened. Then you went to the story being retold with Sarah version. It was annoying. First Sarah is this shy, innocent girl, then she gets with Reaper and now she is a stone cold killer. I think not.

Future MC

To be honest I was not aware this romance was a futuristic one. It was not mentioned in the synapses, but it didn’t have to be. It reads like a regular MC romance . Insta love alpha biker mates kick ass heroine with son who needs father figure. Will be trying book 2.

Definitely recommend

I'm not one for futuristic post apocalyptic stories, but I like this one. There aren't many differences from present day biker romances. Worth the time.

This is one of my favorite MC books. I've read it recently and the further I got in the book the more excited I got. It had everything a book should have- love, courage and some smokey scenes (and a HEA ending :)). But the thing I liked the most (and something I haven't found in a while) is a main heroine that not only grows as the story progresses but who also surprises you in the middle of the story and just keeps on doin' it. It's not just for MC lovers but for all those who want a damn fine book-so, yeah, it's pretty much everyone else LOL.
SPOILER ALERT- So Sarah is trully a female reaper to her one and only Reaper :P I just love have strong she is and not just in mind but the woman knows how to shoot :)
CLIPS FROM A BOOK:
--“Get here, Reaper. I only have seven fucking bullets in this gun and I don’t know how many of them there are,” she told him in a firm voice and he almost died.
--He stared at her in utter disbelief. She was trying to reassure him when she was the one who was shot.
--He was losing it. Him. The man they called the Reaper because when he was in a situation like this one he didn’t panic, he went cold. Only at the moment he wasn’t cold, he was flipping the fuck out.
--I shot him twice, just not a kill shot. He took out my better arm.” Reaper’s mouth hung open as he stared at her.
--“Fucking A, did she just say she couldn’t kill him because he took out her good arm?” Bull asked chuckling, a grudging respect in his voice.
“She did,” Rebel said, laughing warily. “Boss’s woman is lethal. I hope he never pisses her off.”
--“I wasn’t looking. I swear. I didn’t look, don’t kill me!” Bull whined, holding his hands up in a defensive pose.
“Jeez, show some balls, Bull!” Sarah seemed disgusted with the man but Reaper knew Bull was smarter than he looked. He would have killed the man for looking at her and Bull knew it.
(I WAS LAUGHING MY ASS OFF WHEN I READ THIS ONE)

Just so that you know, this book take place in the future after a huge tidal wave "takes back" huge chunks of land. To be honest (this is not a spoiler because it's only mentioned a few times) the only futuristic stuff would be some of the cool hightech medical stuff, but everything else seems to have stayed current. I think that the author tried to interject a new "something " to the highly popular MC genre but she didn't really follow through with it. I'm not complaining because I really liked the book and I got lost in the story, which makes it easier for me to forgive author's mistakes and/or inconsistencies.

The H is the kind of H I love. He's ridiculously possessive, jealous, protective and a serious badass to boot. The h is great! She has not had the easiest life but she doesn't let that geet her down. She loves her son and is willing to do anything, even strip, to provide a better life for him. The son, Josh, is cute and steals every scene he appears in. The supporting characters are funny and interesting.

The story itself is nothing necessarily new but it filled the need I had for an OTT H and a good MC romance. I liked the ending and see a potential for a few more books to come that I will be reading.

First read: May 2015
Although this book is set in the year 2075 in a post apocalyptic world, the story reads as if it could be current. There are few references to the the apocalyptic event and the characters/events could happen in the present. I don't usually read apocalyptic romances because I have few that I really liked. I did like this book and was drawn into the characters and the story. Reaper is a strong alpha bad ass who shys away from commitment. However when Sarah shows up for a job interview in Reaper's club, there is an immediate connection. Sarah has a young son and is out of a job, practically living on the street and is desperately trying to find a job to support herself and her son. Sarah is a strong heroine and doesn't cower from Reaper as most other people do. I loved the relationship between Reaper and Sarah's son. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good MC romance and don't let the fact that it is set in 2075 keep you from reading it. I have moved on to other books in this series. I like the author's writing style and the fact I was totally engaged in the characters and the story.

Reaper Unleashed was a confusing book for me. I kind of liked it, but there were also a lot of parts that i didn't like. This book takes place like 60 years into the future and half the world got destroyed by a huge wave. For the first half of the book Sarah is this shy single mother, but after people come into Reapers house one night to kill her and her son she suddenly becomes this bad ass who shoot like a professional spy type of person. She also speaks her mind all the time now and tells the guys off all the time. It was like in the middle of the book the author decided they wanted to make Sarah a completely different person. I was also disappointed in that they bikers didn't act like actual bikers, half of them acted like little girls when Reaper would talk to them and they just didn't act like actual bikers half the time. I was hoping that this book would've been better.

Good one!

The author kept me interested from the beginning of the book all the way to the end, woohoo! I loved both Reaper and Sarah, as well as Josh and the secondary characters. It is set in the future, but there is nothing to strange, just used credits instead of money, and a couple of other things.

Reaper was mean, but not cruel- another book boyfriend for me! Sarah was strong, had a temper, but was a great mom and a cool chick. There was some conflict between the two main characters, but they handled it without dragging it out for too long. I wish they would've found out the knucklehead who got Sarah fired from her job so that he could get a nice beatdown, though. I can't wait to read the next books in the series; I assume that Sammy and Animal will be next, but I would be interested in all of them since I enjoyed this one so much.

It takes place in the future?hmmm alright...this could have been interesting but the author soon forget everything about it after one or two pages so this is irrelevant.
The personnality of the two main chars is most of the time nothing but ridiculous.
Reaper...well if you like cavemen grabbing girls by the hair (very nearly anyway) saying "mine mine"..you may have a crush on this one.The guy on the cover deeply annoyed me too as the writer hardly descibes the physical appearance of her char and somewhat I tok this cover as a reference and this moustached guy looks more like a village people icon than the real thing...yuck
Sarah was too much like a kind of Wonder Woman and her personnality isn't quite the same from the beginning to the end which annoyed me quite a bit.
So it was barely ok for a fast reading but I don't think I will recommand this book to anyone...

This was a fairly quick mostly enjoyable book. I struggled a bit with it being set in the future mainly because there was no mention in the blurb that this was the case and also that part of the book was not developed at all and because it wasn't what was the point? It would have worked just as well being set in the current time. Also there was an incident at the beginning of the book that caused Sarah to lose her job and I was a little surprised that this issue wasn't addressed later on and the other people involved never reappeared. I liked the relationship between Reaper and Sarah and his growing bond with her son. I also liked Sarah's character development and she really came into her own and took no prisoners! I was disappointed that there wasn't an epilogue

Quite a surprise

I bought this book not knowing that it had a futuristic theme. I most likely would never have bought it if I knew this. So you can imagine my surprise on how great this book is. It started at a disadvantage cause it's just not my type of book. But I really loved it. The author did a great job of setting a futuristic world but still having a regular feel to it. As far as the main characters I couldn't get enough of them. Reaper is all Alpha and not shy of taking anyone who gets in his way out. Sarah is a fighter in her own rights and the perfect match for him. It seems that although this is the first book in this series there'd is another one before it. I will definitely be going back to buy that one.

This is my first book by Ms. Woods and all I have to say is....this is how you write a h that is not TSTL. I loved Sarah. She is right up there with some of my favorite h's. Soft and strong at the same time. Lately in a lot of the books I've read I've liked the H's better then the h's. Not this book. Sarah was the perfect woman for Reaper. Well done story. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Nice start to some interesting characters. Interested to see what happens next.

A little more background on the disaster aftermath and the MC's that rule the world beyond the wall would have been nice. The h changes personality so suddenly I got a little whiplash, but it was a fun non -angst read. Animal and Burner seem like they have stories to tell, along with what happened to Sammy at the club. I'd defiantly try the next book.

Fantastic

I almost didn't read this book after seeing that it was based in the future. I'm so glad I didn't put it down. There are so many characters I want to get to know more about! Sarah is such a bad ass and Reaper is a fantastically stupidly hot man. I just can't wait to get my hands on the next book.

Per several reviews on Amazon, this book is set in the future - year 2075. Why is not mentioned in the book description?

Anyway, I'm not really into the sci-fi/futuristic genre (even if it is an MC book); I prefer to stick with modern/contemporary. So, even though it has been rated well, it looks like I will be skipping this one.

Absolutely amazing!

This was an amazing book that I couldn't put down. Reaper is this sexy, possessive man that grabs your attention from the moment you meet him. And Sarah is this innocent mama bear that you can't help but want to be. The story and love that grows between this two was amazing to read. Definitely going in the favourites column!!

Although this is set in the future I really enjoyed it, loved the fact Sarah is a strong independent woman and loving mother who struggles to provide for her son, Reaper is powerful, arrogant and possessive biker that fights his feelings until he realises he can't any longer loved the whole story looking forward to book 2
