Second Chance Cinderella is story three in the new romance series, Cinderella Body Club. A timeless Cinderella story reimagined where four girlfriends make a wish on a magic locket. They all wish they are beautiful, confident, and able find their Prince Charming.
Raven St. James is a Phlebotomist in a prominent Portland, Oregon hospital. She is petite, with jet-back hair, green eyes, and extremely shy. She dreams of being like the nurses on the daytime hospital shows—perfect. Tall, blond, blue eyed, with big breasts.
Dr. Quinn Taylor admires Raven’s skill, and the caring she shows with her patients, but can’t get her attention. Until the day she winks at him.
Raven only has 24 hours in her Cinderella body. What will she do with it? Will she become the confident, strong, flirty girl she wants to be? Will she get the guy she’s always wanted? Quinn.

I just love reading fairy tales and if I find that a book is even loosely based on a fairy tale, well, I just have to go and read it, even if it means jumping my scheduled reads!
Second Chance Cinderella by Sharon Kleve had me reliving the excitement I feel when I know that the magic of true love is about to happen!
I loved the name which defintely has the keyword that had me accepting to read the book even when I wasn't accepting new books. Then when I saw the cover, I loved it! Beautifully portraying a happily in love pair with the Fairy Godmother's magic pumpkin carriage and famous the glass slippers, it is both eye catching as well as a promise of a magical romance.
The blurb is also interesting and grabbed my attention.
Four girlfriends wish for their own happily-ever-after but are conscious of the flaws in their appearances. Wishing to be just like Cinderella who transformed into a beautiful and confident woman for one night and found her Prince Charming, their wish is granted when they jokingly wish on a magic locket, never thinking that it is truly magical! This story is about Raven, a shy but very talented Phlebotomist in a prominent Portland, Oregon hospital. She likes Dr. Taylor Quinn but is afraid that he, being so handsome, will never notice her plain looks. Quinn admires Raven's expertise in her field but is unable to talk to her because of her shyness. Transformed into a most beautiful and confident woman for 24 hours, will Raven be able to tell Quinn about her true feelings? Will she have a HEA just like Cinderella did? Is being more beautiful the real requirement for finding true love?
This is the first book by Sharon that I have read and I loved her writing style. She was able to carry forward a story that started two books before and that too, by two different authors and never even for a instant did I feel like I was missing something. I loved her simple sentence construction which despite its simplicity was able to hook me and had me eagerly turning the pages.
The characterization is expertly done. I met Raven and was instantly drawn to her. She is someone I could relate to and felt like I already knew her. Her other three friends are just introduced here and still I feel like I know them and am eager to read their stories too. Quinn is a hero reminiscent of the fairy tale Prince Charming and had me smiling contentedly knowing that he was the right choice for Raven. I loved their chemistry and feel that they are made for each other.
Above every other beautiful aspect of this book, the thing I loved the most was the message that the book gives. The lesson Raven learns in the end is a lesson we all should incorporate in our lives.
"I don't worship perfection, I don't even like it very much. Everything is perfect until it breaks. Only in the mending do you know true quality." ~Author Unknown
While this book can be read standalone, it is always recommended that you read the books in order.
Although, I absolutely loved the book but still I feel that it ended too soon. The characters could have been given more depth and the story expanded to add more challenges which definitely would have made this a more entertaining read. However, all this can be attributed to my love for the characters. I just didn't want to leave them and would love to read more about them in the future books.
All in all, Second Chance Cinderella is a feel good romance and a quick read that will leave you with a goofy smile and a heartfelt happiness of witnessing two people get their HEA. 4 out of 5 to it and strongly recommended to all romance and fairy tale lovers. Having read and enjoyed this book, I will surely checkout the other books in this series and more books by Sharon Kleve.
I received the book from the author and I am very thankful to her. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.
Girls’ night – the magical nights of friendship, shared in relaxing surroundings, with delicious food and drinks, that re-energize positive thoughts, ideas become strengthened with hope and confidence, souls are nurtured, and where love always abounds. On one special girls’ night shared by four (4) girlfriends, there is a show-and-tell of a beautiful locket given by a grandmother to her namesake. Cami describes the most fascinating part of the story – at least as much of the story as she knows as Grandma Cami fell asleep during their visit together. Grandma Cami believes the locket is magical. There’s only one catch. If you make a wish with the locket, the magic will only last from midnight to midnight. Could this locket bring a touch of magic to the lives of four (4) girlfriends for 24 hours?
For all reader fans who love good food and can be caught drooling (in the privacy of their own favorite reading space) over deliciously tantalizing recipes served by characters during the course of a story, you will be thrilled to learn that Quinn’s Spaghetti Bolognese and Raven’s favorite Bruschetta with Tomato and Basil are provided at the conclusion of the story.
Preceding Chapter 1 is a powerful quote for reflection: “I don’t worship perfection, I don’t even like it very much. Everything is perfect until it breaks. Only in the mending do you know true quality.” ~Author Unknown. This series of stories is true quality! I have found each of the stories with a charm unique to each author and also the delight that the stories can be read as independent titles (in any order) or as a series. The series takes the most fundamental worry of girls and women everywhere – self-acceptance, self-confidence, and self-worth and with the remembrance of an enduring fairy tale story of Cinderella showers readers with possibilities. Possibilities that begin as negative self-talk ends. Possibilities that begin as attitudes change. Possibilities that begin as self-confidence blooms.
I wish I could gift this series of stories to all adults who are searching for self-acceptance, self-confidence, and self-worth. I’d also like to gift this story to every public library, family member or friend that is searching for a special story to give to a reader that needs a story of hope after being in a verbally abusive relationship or who is being bullied with words of negativity. I am not so naïve to think that all those searching for self-acceptance and self-confidence will have the same experience as Raven in Story 3, or by Cami in Story 1 and Tess in Story 2 but perhaps the stories can be the catalyst and inspiration to initiate a conversation or at the very least the spark of hope that leads to a new beginning.
I am looking forward to the next title in the series with delightful anticipation as I can’t wait to read about Annalise’s magical 24 hours after girls’ night!
Second Chance Cinderella is story three in the new romance series, Cinderella Body Club, This is Raven's story. When Raven gets with her friends for a night of wine and food anything is bound to happen. Cami told the girls about her grandmother and her locket. The locket is set to have a little magic and can turn all your troubles about life and dating into good ones. If wished upon you will be granted 24 hours of the wish. The book was pretty humorous with the ladies wishing they were different looking and could just simply fall in love. This book was great for those who feel down in the dumps at times. It will perk you up and give a confidence boost. This is exactly what happens to Raven she feels so beautiful and confident with her new self that after her 24 hours she didn't think her wish would still be true. A real feel good book. this is the first book I have read by this author and look forward to reading more.
I was given a copy of this book via the author for an honest opinion.
Ms. Kleve has put her spin on the classic Cinderella tale with charming results. Raven, along with three friends has made a wish on a "magic" locket belonging to one of the friend's grandma. Like the others, she doesn't really believe in magic but a girl can hope. All the ladies wish to change their appearance in some way. The next day Raven finds she has changed but according to the locket owning grandma the magic only lasts 24 hours, just like in Cinderella.
I won't go into a spoiler alert to say how the story ends. But--when the doctor Raven works with, and is her secret Prince Charming, the man she's too shy to flirt with suddenly pays attention to her, she begins to believe in magic. She is determined to make the most of her 24 hours with her sexy doctor.
This is a lighthearted story with a modern fairy tale ending. I enjoyed it a lot.
Here's a wonderful updated version on the classic Cinderella story. When 4 friends get the chance to make a wish upon a magical locket they take it, they wish to be more attractive so that the man of their dreams will notice them, the only problem is, their wish will only last for 24 hrs. Raven works as a Phlebotomist, she loves her job is good with her patients but becomes tongue around handsome Dr Quinn Taylor. After her wish the next morning, she goes to work feeling full of confidence, her hair feel silky, her skin looks clear, ?Quinn is sure to notice her, she even gives him a wink, and he does.
Raven and Quinn only have 24 hrs, is that enough time for love, and what will happen she changes back? This was a great short story and I'm looking forward to the next book from the series.
In this one by this author she gives another character's perspective in this story. It has a wonderful flow that if you have read the previous one you pick this one right up and get to it. Believing in the magic of locket, Raven goes for her chance at someone she has craved from afar. Doctor in her dreams becomes reality in her waking. Quinn is a man though that sees more than what is on the surface. She thinks she has only so much time but time will show her she actually had more than she thought. Once again she is her own worst "enemy" because the magic really is what others see is what she will finally see. The good thing about these romances is the fact they do go past the surface and the hope for love is more than that when they are done. Ahhh the magic of love is in full force in this novel. Received a copy for a honest review.
What can happen in 24-hours when wishing upon a locket? When 4 friends do just that, they wake up and see themselves as how they wish to be seen. Better body, hair, height, just like they envisioned. Raven St. James works as a Phlebotomist. She is great with patients but shy around Dr. Quinn Taylor. Raven goes into work with a new confidence, she feels beautiful and sexy and even winks at Quinn. Will she and Quinn find magic together before she changes back. Will her prince finally come for her and will one magical night become a happily-ever-after. Disclosure: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions, and ratings are my own.
This is the third book in the series. 4 BFF's make a wish upon the ring of one of the girls grandmother. The ring grants a wish to be as beautiful as you want for 24 hours. This is Raven's story. This isn't your typical Cinderella story but just like in Cinderella midnight comes sooner than expected. The mc Raven has been carrying a torch for the hot Dr. Quinn. Now that she's beautiful she feels she can pursue the hot doc. After a hot date with the doc, an awesome surprise awaits Raven. This definitely makes me want to read the rest of the series. This is a light little story perfect for when you need a quick read. I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
When friends Cami, Annalise, Tess and Raven wish on a magic locket that belonged to Cami's grandma they each wish for something that they believe will give them the confidence they need in love. The only problem is their wish will only last for 24 hrs.
Raven St. James works as a Phlebotomist. She loves her job and is good with her patients. When it comes to talking to Dr. Quinn Taylor she can't think straight. After her wish, the next morning she goes to work feeling much prettier and full of confidence. Raven finally has the courage to flirt with Quinn. Her night as Cinderella is a night to remember.
A story of how you see yourself as opposed to how others see you. This stiry will pull you in and have you searching for the other books in the series.
When friends Cami, Annalise, Tess and Raven wish on a magic locket that belonged to Cami's grandma they each wish for something that they believe will give them the confidence they need in love.
Raven is attracted to Dr.Quinn Taylor but has never had the courage to talk to him before but will the magic locket give her what she needs to talk to him?
I love the character of Raven and how the book shows us what a little confidence can do for each of us!!
Another fantastic romance by Sharon Kleve! I love these stories about Cinderella! Four women and a locket. Each women are lonely and feel unattractive. They all make a wish on a locket to be beautiful for 24 hours. What they dont realize is they already are beautiful just lack confidence. So for 24 hours they feel that they can get the man thier hearts are set on. Fun, romantic and a bit crazy . I fell in love with these books.
What if you were given the chance to transform for one day? One day to be the beauty and catch the man you have long had a crush on. Raven St. James gets that wish and hopes that once the day is over, the man whose eye she has catches finally will want her after he figures out it was a magical trick.
Very fun quick read. I am a sucker for Cinderella stories. Quickly paced and you feel like you have a full story. In the mood for a light romance, pick this one up.
Second Chance Cinderella is the third part in The Cinderella Body Club series, and this short story romance was released in May 2015. The set-up of this series is that a group of girls make a wish to have their perfect bodies for 24 hours. During that time they feel so much more self-secure and decide to go after what they want? Raven, the star of this one, is a shy petite nurse that dreams of being, basically, a big, blond bimbo nurse. One of the doctors at her hospital is kind of in love with her but because she’s so shy, he’s never been able to get close to her. During the 24 hours in her “Cinderella Body”, she decides to wink at him and even go out with him. But she regrets it the next day, when she’s back in her own body, because she’s realised she really likes him and fears he only liked her blond bimbo body. However, it turns out that only she could see herself in her ideal body, and that doctor Quinn really likes her too. Let’s say it together: oooooooooh! Anyway, they end up together obviously. I liked their relationship, but the focus on the “Cinderella bodies” was a little bit too weird for me. And the clue of the entire thing was also so obvious. But even with that, this was a fun, sweet and romantic love story that’s worth the read.
I choose to read this book, because Cinderella was one of my favourite tale since I was a child, but obviously the romance is only an inspiration. I think is a psychological and sociological contemporary romance, the main character Raven St. James has lost her self-confidence after she was left heartbroken by her previous relationship so her only escape to this was working hard and save money to finish her studies. It could be a mirror of our real society: everyday when we go to work or just go out is easy to come across into a beggar who asks coins for a piece of bread, and for sure at the end of day you would say Raven words: “I’m not handing out quarters anymore. Like I started out doing, or I’d be broke.” You will be hook from the first lines of the book: the four friends meet for a social gathering, chatting, telling stories, drinking wines to warm and cheer themselves and playing with a magic stone for a love purpose. It has a scent of coffee aroma, roasted bread, beef tomato sauce, vine bubbles, hand made cakes, in fact at the end of the tale you’ll find some good recipes ready to taste. The language style is full of figures speech useful for teaching purpose. I found it very relaxing and entertaining with an underneath message. The writer Sharon Kleve has no greater feeling than watching her characters come live in each other’s arms, she loves keeping pets that’s way in each book there is one.
A fun girls' chick lit short read with a subcontext about being comfortable in your own body and being the best person you can become. The girls enjoy getting together on a regular basis. The idea of a magic locket comes up with a story about Cami's grandmother. The four friends decide to make a wish together, with each choosing an ideal body for herself. The myth is that the illusion will last only midnight to midnight.
This is Raven's story. Raven has so much going for herself but she just can not see it. She has a crush on a doctor at the hospital where she works. Her wish is for him to notice her. The morning after the wish, Raven and the other girls see the changes in themselves. How will they make the most of their 24 hourrs? If Dr. Quinn Taylor notices Raven, can she enjo her one day? What will happen when she changes back? Well, just making it through the day being beautiful and confident is a challenge for Raven.
I breezed through this and almost wished it was a little bit longer. It was a fun read with sme tension and I enjoyed the friendship between the girls. I hope I get a chance to read about them. I did have a copy of this novella from the author in exchange for my honest review. I already have another story by Sharon Kleve qued up on my reader.
I won this book from LibraryThing's Early Reviewer program.
I chose this book because I enjoy fairy tales and creative takes on them. Raven, Cami, Annelise, and Tess are four unlucky in love single friends who wish on a magic locket given to Cami by her grandmother. They all desire the same thing, an improved version of themselves. This is actually the third book in the series, each focuses on one of the friends.
I was hooked from the first line. The language style is very readable. Raven, the narrator, is a petite young woman with jet-black hair and green eyes. She was left heartbroken by her previous relationship. Alan, her ex, made her feel plain and unattractive. As a result, her self-esteem plummeted and she had no confidence. She works as a phlebotomist at a local hospital and has a crush on Dr. Quinn Taylor, a doctor she works with. Being shy by nature, she is especially tongue-tied and flustered around him. But the wish she makes on the locket changes her life.
I enjoyed this short and sweet novella. It had a good story with a satisfying ending and an important message.
I liked the concept- a group of friends taking a chance with a 'magic' locket, hoping to find love. This story is the 3rd in a 4 part series that follows the friends through their experience after making a wish on the trinket. This story follows Raven, a shy woman damaged by the words of her ex, who hopes to snag the attention of a sexy doctor she works with. Maybe the magic charm will give her the courage to take a chance.
I haven't read the others yet but I'm sure I will when I have the chance. I enjoy seeing the way these ladies each create a different aspect of the story line.
This one was a little spicier than I've seen with the other books I've read by this author but it still held that sweet-romance vibe. I do wish the story had been a bit longer; I know the time frame within the story facilitates brevity, but I think the story would have been better if it had gone a little more in depth. I also found some consistency errors that distracted from the story but there were only a couple. Overall, I did enjoy the brief escape the book provided.
Second Chance Cinderella is book three in The Cinderella Body Club series. A series where four girlfriends make a wish on a locket, wishing they were beautiful, and looked like the girls they've always wanted to be. But of coarse there was a catch, the magic only lasted 24 hours, midnight to midnight.
Raven was caring and sweet and loved by her patients, but was shy around the Quinn, doctor that caught her eye. When the locket worked she found the nerves to flirt with Quinn which lead to having a lunch date. Raven knew that she needed to jump on the chance, not knowing if she'd get another one. Know since she got Quinn to notice her will she be able to have more than the day? Or when the magic wears off will he go back to the way things were?
Sharon Kleve's book is a quick sweet read, that can be read as a standalone, but better if read with the series. She also throws a bonus in and includes a couple of recipes that are used in her story.
I was given this book for free to read and review. Quite frankly I don't like short stories because they feel rushed and while this story was sweet there were parts that proved the point. Who asks if you want to skip dinner after they hear your stomach demanding sustenance for example? The temple is found at the top of the head and does not typically have a hollow. Though there was no mention made of them ever having left the dining room he somehow "braced" her against the bedroom wall. The story was sweet, cute even but too rushed for my tastes.
I was asked to review this book by Librarything.com
The weather had changed and rained all day and I had a day off so I snuggled down to read this really enchanting book this was almost a fairy tale. This is story three in the romance series, Cinderella Body Club. This is the story of Raven.
It is a girls night in - of food and alcohol and a locket with magical powers.
It is fun and you really do believe there is wonderful love out there for all of us.
A truly lovely read that made me feel lovely inside and forgot about the outside world – and work tomorrow.
This is the 3rd book in the Cinderella Body Club series. I really like how this series was written, by different authors each writing about different characters. This was Raven's story about how she finds her happily ever after when she too makes a wish on a "magical" locket. A very quick read with great characters, only this one has a little different twist to it! The only downside was that it was over too quickly as all good reads are!

For Raven it was a chance to have the love she had been yearning for, and a magical keepsake-locket -held the answer. Feeling a new, improved version of herself—confident, sexy, and boldly-flirty. The object of her affection, Sexy Dr. Quinn, never knew what hit him. But what happens when Raven’s plan of seduction is enacted? Is it a disaster or a connection to envy. Read Sharon Kleve’s, Second Chance Cinderella and find out. It has just enough steam to light-up the senses.
Raven and her friends make a wish on a magic locket. Raven thinks it will make her look like a soap opera star for 24 hours. There is a doctor at the hospital where she works that she hasn't had the nerve to even speak to. Raven doesn't know that Quinn is attracted her for her sweet and caring personality and thinks she has to be different. She winks at him and that is all the encouragement Quinn needs. Is the locket really magic or does it just make Raven see herself differently?
Raven make a wish and is having a great day but in the morning will she still have Quinn? Raven learns to see herself as everyone does. Can be read with out reading rest of the series.
