If you are familiar with William & Mary and Colonial Williamsburg this will be a book to read! The historical and local Williamsburg easter eggs were fun to discover woven throughout the story, including things that are in the W&M archives. If you are fan of a story full of action, drama, conspiracy theories, history and Shakespeare then you need to give this a shot. It is a quick, easy read that is full of suspense and surprises. Taking place over a number of time periods with various characters who leave their mark throughout the entire plot, the main character of the story is a student at W&M in the early 2000s. We follow him as he starts his journey as student and is pulled into something far greater than he could have anticipated when he enrolled. For anyone who has been to Williamsburg and knows the places where the events take place, the description of the surroundings as we follow the story, make it feel like you are right there with the characters. It will keep you guessing and I promise the end, you won’t see coming!

The Temple Keep has the most surprising and disturbing twist I have ever read! The floor just drops out from under you. The book is listed as historical fiction, but it has speculative elements too. It’s filled with QR codes that you scan on your phone that takes you beyond the page and into the real world—maps, tunnels, codes that exist - all real!! - and gives you the terrible sense that everything in the book could actually happen! An incredible read that has you turning every page thinking “what next?” and it never disappoints! FIVE STARS!
