I loved this book. I don't think it is as funny as normal because Darla and Mariska are very quiet for them but it is still an entertaining story and the series at book 28 is still going strong.
The book can be read as a standalone mystery but I am a big fan of this author and would definitely recommend the whole series. I don't think she has written a book that I haven't enjoyed or wanted to get the audible of version too. I love the characters, Darla and Mariska are present to add there own kind of mischief and chaos but in this book there is a new quirky character to add to Charlotte and Declan's woes and of course Uncle Seamus spreads his charm. Actually thinking back on the story there is a number of memorable moments to have you chuckling and most of the characters get in on the act. As for the mystery, it was good with a lot going on. There is no real mystery in the fact that you know who is responsible or at least the family responsible and the mystery is more working out what is actually going on. There is a number of twists and it's just a fun entertaining story in a series that I hope continues for a long time to come.
When Darla and Mariska go kayaking things don't go to plan and they end up in the water more than in the kayak itself. However it's after one of the dips that they discover a jar full of desk junk, this leads to them being on tv and then things really get interesting. A man turns up at there door wanting his stuff back which he recognised from a company pencil but Charlotte thinks he's to eager for just a pencil and there is more to it. Then she plays the tape from the jar and the last thing she wants to do is give him back his things. Instead Declan finds himself helping his wife investigate a missing persons case. In the jar was a pencil, the tape cassette, a key and a photo can they work out the connection between a missing woman, the things in the jar and the shady man and with no client insight how far is he willing to go to find answers in a very cold case? I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This is book twenty-eight in the Pineapple Port Mystery series by Amy Vansant. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was mildly surprised that Darla and Mariska had toned down their antics in this episode and that's not a bad thing!
The jar was the key to finding the mystery that Declan and Charlotte were investigating. They had to bring Frank on board. In the end it was resolved but most readers would not have expected the resolution.
I cannot wait for the next episode, but I'll have to. I was given an e-ARC and these are my opinions.
Mariska finds an old jar in a riverbank, leading to a decades old missing person mystery for Charlotte and Declan to investigate. As they uncover one layer, more secrets come to light. As ever, an entertaining mystery for our sleuths and their associated family members. Quirky, fun and enjoyable.
I love this series. The characters are so fun! In this love Darla and Mariska find a jar with various bits and pieces. When they show it to Charlotte she is suspicious that the bits and pieces are clues which kicks in her detective instincts. Read this book, better yet, if you haven't already, read this series!
Mariska and Darla are kayaking when trouble hits and they find an old jar buried in the silt. A TV news crew interviews them thinking they might be stranded after the storm and the jar brings an interest from an exporter. Charlotte and Declan decide to investigate why the interest and discover missing people. Ever changing great mystery
Such a fun addition to this series. This book really focused in on Charlotte and Declan as they investigate a case with ties to a mysterious disappearance that occurred over twenty years in the past. While other regular characters had only small appearances in the story. Looking forward to their next adventure.
I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.
Always makes me laugh Probably not the title for a series that always has a murder or two, but that's the way it is. The main characters tend to get into fantastical adventures, then Declan and Charlotte have to come to the rescue! Number 28 and still going strong. Highly recommend!
Another in this fun series. Set in and around a Florida retirement home, with a younger detective and her dog, and, lately, her husband. Funny, sometimes tense, full of interesting characters and locales. Relatively short, leaves you wanting more.
An entertaining cozy mystery. Lots of clues & otters and a couple close calls. Charlotte and Declan with the whole gang solve this one. I received an ARC but this is my own honest opinion.
Amy Vansant has done it again. This is an exciting tale of all things scary and keeps you going until you get to the end. She has a wonderful way to get you involved with all the characters and trying to see what happens next. Great Read
Pineapple Diamonds by Amy Vansant is the 28th book in that Pineapple Port Series. This series is a fun cozy mystery. I particularly enjoyed this one. This mystery was really good and while I figured out who did the crime the actual crime kept me guessing. I’ll definitely keep reading this series.
