I was fortunate to read this story as part of a box set in which Julia Kent originally released this book...now that it is out on it's own I have purchased it and re-read it again!. I have read all of her books including all of the Ramdom series and I do love them all! They have some laugh out loud moments...some tears and of course some very sexy moments as does this story which focuses on Amy and Sam. This story does have some familiar faces ..Darla..Joe..Trevor and Liam with the famous blow up doll and not to mention a certain chicken! I promise not to revel any secrets as that will spoil it for those of you who wish to read this yet another great story written by Julia Kent. I highly recommend this book and any and all of Julia Kent's books ...I promise that you will not be disappointed as she is truly and amazing author! Thank you for keeping me entertained and always wanting more! This book is now a part of this boxed set which has 10 other authors in it...Julia Kent's book is part of her Random series and this story is Sam and Amy's story...as I mentioned before you will not be disappointed with any of Julia Kent's books... so why not take a chance on this box set...you will not be sorry that you did!
Fabulous bargain. I loved JC Andrijeski's Revik ( and a fab taster for an incredible series) and also Amber Lin/Shari Slade three nights and have added reviews to both of those below. THese bundles are a terrific bargain and a great way to try out to you you authors. Revik: Early Years, (Allie's War 6.5) , J.C. Andrijeski Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Books in the Allie's War series by JC Andrijeski: Rook: Allie's War Episodes 1-4 Shield: Allie's War Episodes 5-8 Sword: Allie's War Episodes 9-12 Shadow: Allie's War Episodes 13-17 Knight: Allie's War Episodes 18-23 War: Allie's War Episodes 24-27 Bridge: Allie's War Episodes 28-31 Prequel Books New York: Allie's War Early Years Revik: Allie's War Early Years Terian: Allie's War Early Years I've been working my way through this series. Its a genre I never thought I’d enjoy and yet it has me gripped, fixed and desperate to find out where its going next. I think mainly because it focussed well on individual characters, and that's what I love about novels best, those where we get to know people, feel as though they are real and go along with them in the story, feeling as they do at the time they are...Anyway, I read New York: Allie's War Early Years after reading Shield, and it really helped get things in perspective. It's free at the moment too so an excellent way to see the writing style and format without spending! I've just finished Knight and thought I’d read Revik and Terian before starting War...These are shorter than the main books at 132 pages compared to the 450 – 500 or so those are. Great for readers like me who love long novels! So, Revik: this tells us some of his early years, he's 80 in this book, and to be honest I almost didn't recognise him...he's very different to the Revik we know and love. He's a real bad boy here, but caught in the clutches of the Rooks so that’s to be expected, they totally brainwash their people as we see in the main books, so that they can be shaped and used for their needs. He thinks he's doing the right thing, but then meets Kali, the seer who will bear the Bridge later and who is prescient. She wants to meet Revik, tell him he needs to change. She forces him to take a look at himself, and he realizes he doesn't like who and what he's become. What can he do though? A fabulous snippet of some of the experiences that show Revik prior to the person we know – and he undergoes so many changes its great to see some of what shaped him. There's warnings about the content of this book, and if you find sex and some violence offensive take note. To me though this just adds to the whole feel, and is an essential part of the series, to leave it out would emasculate Revik and the novels as a whole. Stars: what else but a five :-) ARC supplied via author
Three Nights with a Rock Star, Amber Lin and Shari Slade Review from jeannie zelos book reviews
well – being an ex Sunday School teacher myself in my teens and like Chloe pregnant and unmarried, this book struck a chord with me. I’ve also a weakness for the Rock Star romance bit too so... Big sister Hailey is determined to make whoever got her little sister pregnant take responsibility – she’s not after him to marry her, just do his part as a dad and be there for Chloe and the child..she’s not thought it through though, travelled on impulse and ends up totally out of her depth. She’s a quiet girl, looked after Chloe since she was 18, took a job with the church to support them both instead of doing college, and has gone out of her way to ensure the sisters aren’t tarred with the same brush as their mother, who everyone knew was a drunk who used men to pay for what she wanted. She feels like she’s been so serious all the while that fun has avoided her, so when Lock comes up with his three day control proposal she can’t resist the chance to let go. She hasn’t told Chloe what she’s doing though, and Chloe is holding another big secret that could have made a huge difference... Hailey and Lock are scorching together, a new experience for her and Lock keeps telling himself its novelty he’s feeling, turning the good girl bad and nothing more. He’s kidding himself though and the heat between them gets hotter and hotter, especially when band member Krist joins them one night! Of course something that hot has to explode – and it does. Well, this is a fun read, and very erotic and sensual. I enjoyed the real “touring” feel to the novel, having read some rock and film star ones recently where the characters lived the part in name only, and filming/touring wasn’t part of the action. I like to feel the whole life of the characters, to be there with them, to live the drama as they do and it worked well here. Stars: Five, a great read. ARC supplied via Netgalley and publishers
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Overall, the Red Hot Bikers, Rock Stars and Bad Boys box set included amazing books by amazing authors. And that shows through their work. I'd already read one of them(Chelle Bliss' Resisting) but that didn't make the box set any less interesting or well put together. The writing of all of the writers was excellent and the plots were intriguing. I was introduced to some new genres that I had previously never wanted to touch.
Forever Yours:
This book includes both Chris and Claire`s perspectives which allows a much more understanding read. You`re able to see both sides of the story and not hate one more so then the other if you hate anyone at all. And that wasn`t the case for this story. Instead you felt bad for both Chris and Claire. They`ve had a difficult time of it and that isn`t resolved in Forever Yours. I`m definitely going to have to find out what happens as soon as possible.
Resisting:
As I`ve mentioned, I`ve already read Resisting but that didn`t stop me from taking this opportunity to reread it. As always Chelle Bliss` writing was perfect or at least as perfect as any human can be. You get invested in the characters, especially Izzy. She`s a firecracker that makes you just want to cackle. I really enjoyed the back and forth between Izzy and James. I know their story is definitely an interesting one.
Randomly Ever After:
Alright so in this book I was a bit lost. It`s part of a series and I`ve never read any of the series before now. This is not a book that can be easily read as a standalone and that affected my enjoyment. But it was clear that both characters loved each other very much. The plot was hilarious, at least after you got past the bad situation that happened and then you could laugh at it.
Stella and Dane
Wow, this was certainly not that fun of a read. Except it was enjoyable because it wasn`t the happiest of stories. It just goes to show that true love is worth waiting for. I couldn`t believe the small town that pretty much condemned these two before they could ever do anything to prove them right or wrong. It was definitely a sad, but also happy story if only because of the ending.
Every Breath You Take:
I`m pretty sure that I`ve read part of this series before and I really really enjoyed it. So reading Xan`s story was certainly eye opening. Mostly because he seems very uptight and hardworking with no time for a break. It was amazing to get to know him better and watch him fall in love. But Georgie was also an interesting female that is doing the best she can to survive. And with very little help. I loved learning her story as well as Xan`s and watching them fall for each other. I definitely want to know more!
Cold Fusion:
This one was certainly heavy but the author did a good job with writing it. While it was heavy you didn`t feel as if it was too crushing that you couldn`t continue reading it. And the end was certainly worth it.
The Storm and The Darkness:
This was an intriguing read. The plot kept things moving along at a nice pace although it starts off really slow with more getting to know the characters then anything. It picks up more towards the end until it`s almost as if it`s a high speed train. Have to say it was very disturbing to think about this actually happening. But overall the author did an amazing job and their writing was really good!
Rock Candy:
It was certainly one of the hotter books in this box set. Like off the charts hot. The dialogue was witty and not forced so the author did well with that. Overall it was a well done book.
Wuther:
Alright so I could never force myself to read Wuthering Heights. I could never get into it for some reason. But that holds true for me for a lot of the classics. And I have to say that if this is similar to it I'm kind of glad I didn't. Both characters were selfish and frustrating. The plot was interesting but very disturbing at the same time. The author did well though. The writing style kept you reading just as much as the plot.
Three Nights With A Rock Star:
Hailey is certainly a refreshing and well written character as was Locke. There were a couple of moments where you were confused but it was simply because the characters had misled or deceived the reader as well as one of the other characters. Three Nights With A Rock Star was told from both Hailey and her sister's perspective which is where some of the confusion could come in.
Revik:
It was an interesting read and the author ensures that you aren't lost in her world. That was nice and the writing certainly kept you reading until the very end.
Cold Fusion by Olivia Rigal WOW, ok so this book takes place over the time span of the first two books in the series. David has been pulled into a deep undercover mission and he is now working with the Motorcycle Club as a bouncer in their strip club and his mission is to take down a white supremacist group. Jeanne-Michelle is David's love interest and we not only see how their relationship begins and evolves but we also see the way David adores Jeanne-Michelle's nephew Toussaint. Beautiful story!
This is the perfect opportunity to try the work of authors that you might not have read in the past and it gives a chance for discover just how diverse they all are. This subject matter is right up my street so when I got the chance to review, I was so excited and having now finished the anthology I have to say that it was a little belter! I have debated how best to review the anthology but decided on a quick gallop around all the books included. So here we go (in no particular order):
Resisting by Chelle Bliss This story was about Izzy and James and I have to say they were more than enough to hold my attention. She was as funny as they came and as for James, well, the man has it all in spades!
Forever Ours by Cassia Leo Told for both points of view this is a story about how far you are prepared to go for the one you love. Claire needed more than Chris thought he was able to give but was it?
Stella and Dane by Deanna Roy This made my heart hurt! There was so much pain in this story that I found it hard to read but I hate judgemental people and was reading with my fingers crossed that Stella and Dane would reward me and them with a future that was truly awesome.
Randomly Ever After by Julia Kent I have download the other books that go with this one as I feel I need to give it the opportunity to engage me fully but I have to say that it while the outset was far from ideal, I appreciated the fact that the characters really were completely devoted to each other, a funny book that I enjoyed.
Cold Fusion an Iron Tornadoes MC Romance by Olivia Rigal This was bloody brilliant!!! I loved it, it was full on and completely worth every minute I spent with it. I mean undercover with white supremacists, not your everyday fodder but dear lord give this one plenty of time- you will need it! Fabulous!!!!
The Storm and the Darkness by Sarah M. Cradit Took me a while to get into this one, again it was from an author that I hadn’t read before but once I got to grips with what was going on and all the characters, I thought the book was really good. The writing was super and the pace was breath-taking towards the end.
Rock Candy by Daizie Draper OMG, I needed hosing down after this one, it was smoking hot!!! A fantastic read, funny and smooth- loved it! Wuther by V. J. Chambers This just wasn’t for me, I can appreciate the author style and craft but the story was not one that I could get into.
Three Nights with a Rock Star by Amber Lin and Shari Slade: I had to take my time with this one because it lost me on a couple of occasions but I loved Locke and took to Hailey straight away. A Great Read!
Revik by JC Andrijeski Well written and eclectic, not, my normal read but an author that I would like to try reading more of.
Wow! Red hot does not even begin to cover this! So far, I've only had the chance to read four of the books in this compilation and already I feel the need to turn down the thermostat several degrees. With best selling authors such as Cassia Leo, Chelle Bliss, Deanna Roy, Blair Babylon, Olivia Rigal, Saral M. Credit, Daizie Draper, V. J. Chambers, Amber Lin and Shari Slade, JC Andrijeski, and my personal favorite Julia Kent... well, the added heat is to be expected.
The four books I've read so far are Julia Kent's "Randomly Ever After", Blair Babylon's "Every Breath You Take", Amber Lin and Shari Slade's "Three Nights With a Rock Star", and Daizie Draper's "Rock Candy" and let me tell you they are all phenomenal! "Randomly Ever After" continues Julia Kent's wildly popular Random Acts of Crazy series and follows drummer Sam as he plans to propose to his girlfriend Amy, but of course nothing ever goes easy or according to plan for our Random guys, but as always it's well worth the ride. I absolutely LOVE this series and Sam and Amy are so sweet I just almost can't stand it... in a good way of course. Julia's characters just jump off the page at you and you just can't help but fall in love with them. "Every Breath You Take" was intriguing, sexy, exciting, dramatic, titillating, and just downright hot and I loved every second of it. I found myself desperate to know the backstory of these characters, and well, let's just say I've already bought the book I need to satisfy that curiosity. I've also purchased the next book in the series as well. Gotta know the future as well as the past to be well rounded, right? "Three Nights With a Rock Star" was just scorching from start to finish! Lock was all alpha male stud bad boy, who did indeed have a good heart that he had buried deep... but not so deep that our sexy little church mouse Hailey couldn't find it. These two are explosive together! The author did a great job exposing Lock as a real person, and not just as a stereotypical rock god. The side story of Chloe and Tim was also very sweet. I really loved this book! "Rock Candy" has two of my favorite genres; rock stars and stepbrother romance. Combine those two giving me a hot rockstar stepbrother and forbidden romance and you've definitely got my attention. This book not only got my attention, but it kept it. Danny and Lex were so hot together I thought my iPad might spontaneously combust! If these first four books are any indication of what's to come, and I'm pretty confident they are, then I can't wait to read the rest of the compilation!
* I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
With eleven books and novellas in this anthology that has over 1600 pages of reading there will no doubt be more author you know and like or will read a story by and want to buy another story from. I have not finished all eleven yet but so far have read:
Revik by J. C. Andrijeski: This book is part of the Allie’s War series. I have read a number of the books in this series and enjoyed each one. Revik is one conflicted but very hot being with a mission in life that he is learning more about. This story is set in Vietnam during 1975 and it is very interesting.
Forever Ours by Cassia Leo: Chris and Claire star in this book that is of a series. Claire is a foster child placed in the home of Chris’s mother. A relationship develops but is not concluded. This story leaves you wondering what will happen in the next book.
Resisiting by Chelle Bliss: A family of four brothers and a sister all partners in a tattoo business. Some of the brothers seem to have met their mates already but this story is part the only sister’s eventual romance. She is a strong person who knows what she wants but may have met her match while at her brother’s wedding. You have to read the next book by this author to find out, though.
Randomly Ever After by Julia Kent: This is not meant to be a stand-alone book but a novella in a series. This novella tells the story of Sam and Amy who are found in the book Random Acts of Trust. There are rock scenes, some misunderstandings and eventually a wedding proposal.
Stella and Dane by Deanna Roy: Small town girl meets bad biker boy in this one. An unfortunate event in a bar leads to a long delayed happily ever after.
I will be reading the rest of the stories in the future but wanted to get my review up since these stories in this anthology won’t be this price forever.
Thank you to C. J. Andrijeski for the copy of this anthology to read and review.
Review for Three Nights with a Rock Star (Half-Life #1): First let me say that based on the few reviews I read about this book, I was all set to be disappointed but boy was I wrong. I don't know what book these people read, but it's not what I read! LOL This was really steamy and sexy read with well developed characters that you wouldn't think would fit, but Shari Slade & Amber Lin made them fit! You have the lead singer of a rock group paired with a responsible 'do the right thing all the time' girl .... how could that possibly work? very carefully and very HOT HOT HOT, i tell ya! SO you know the basis of the story from the blurb so I won't waste your time, but what you don't know is how well it is written. This is a fun, fictional book full of not so every day things happening. But that's why we read, right? To escape reality. Well, this book is one way of doing it and with so much steam, it will come out your ears ;) lol HIGHLY recommend as a quick, fluffy read! loved it!
NOTE: I'm rating the box set 5 stars even though I have not read all the stories yet because I HAVE read most of these authors at-least once and I KNOW they will not disappoint! #TRUST
So far I've only read one story in this boxed set but the price of the set is more than worth it for just this one book.
Every Breath You Take (Billionaires in Disguise: Georgie and Rock Stars in Disguise: Xan, Episode 1) - cliffhanger warning
I love Blair Babylon’s Billionaires/Rock Stars in Disguise series. This book ends with a cliffhanger, which I am usually not a fan of. I’m learning to make an exception to this though, for authors whose work I really love. I have read all of the other stories in the BID/RID series and loved them so I had to have this one as soon as I was offered an ARC to read.
The BID: Rae, BID: Lizzy and BID/RID: Georgie/Xan stories all contain connected characters but each serial can also be read on its own.
The blurb for this book is pretty accurate so I won’t rehash it. What I will say is that both Georgie and Alex/Xan have secrets that aren’t fully revealed in this episode. The story is very compelling and has some good sexy times. I love the way Blair describes things, and I was left with wanting more. I can’t wait for the next episode in Georgie’s story.
Review for Blair Babylon's Rockstars in Disguise: Xan/Billionaires in Disguise: Georgie - Every Breath You Take
I have always been a big fan of Blair Babylon ever since I've read Billionaires in Disguise: Rae, and this new book just cemented her greatness! Who would've thought our sweet, kind Georgie, of the same Billionaires in Disguise series, is hiding an intriguing past. And by attending a wedding in Paris, will bring the past back to her present. On the other hand, Xan Valentine whom we met at the series Rockstars in Disguise, is the workaholic lead singer of the popular rock band Killer Valentine, considers music as his "jealous, bitch mistress". One trying to hide while one of them flourishes in publicity. How will a relationship work between them? Or will there be a relationship to begin with? Must warn you though, this is the beginning of a series. However, like all of Ms. Babylon's works, the rest of the books is sooo worth the wait!! Received an advance copy for an honest review.
Great Boxed Set! This is a great boxed set; with this boxed set we get eleven books and novella’s by some amazing authors. I love boxed sets because it lets me get to read books by some new to me authors. The books in this series kept me reading and I didn’t want to stop reading until the end. If you are looking for some hot bad boys, rockers, and bikers. Then you need to read this boxed set. I am looking forward to reading more books by these authors. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
Nice book set, my favorite is The Storm and the Darkness by Sarah Credit.I can't get enough of this series. So here we get to know more about the characters that will become extremely important in this series. We see how Ana finds in a way what she was looking for and a little bit more. Her interactions with the brothers are entertaining and a very complex threesome that you learn to love and hate. This series is a most read full of supernatural suspense, love and understanding.
WOW, what an awesome boxed set. I love a lot of the authors in this set and that is why I bought it. If you are looking to check out and add authors to your reading list, you can't go wrong with Chelle Bliss, V.J. Chambers, Blair Babylon, Deanna Roy, Julia Kent and Olivia Rigal. I can't wait to read the rest of this set.
I love this series, I can't get enough. James and Izzy is so hot and sexy together I just wanted to read their story all over again (Resist Me). I am glad to read there night together when they meet and was not disappointed. Amazing story as well as an amazing series. Chelle is the best
Four out of 11 of these books were 0's from me because I couldn't read them. My average rating for this boxed set is technically a 2.45. There were some great books in here but not enough for me to give a great review. Thanks!
cassia leo is the main reason I bought this set, it was the first book in her shattered hearts series. this is a great series you need to read the whole lot to get the full story. its well worth it
