Drea has been a hopeless romantic for as long as she can remember. She became an avid romance reader in 2015 when the Fifty Shades of Grey craze broke out, and never looked back since.
Stories written by Jennifer Hartmann and Mia Sheridan are her absolute favorite, inspiring her to give writing a shot in 2022 when she settled down in her career. No, writing is not her full-time job, but a side project for now.
With the relentless support of her husband, Drea found a passion that's been buried for quite some time. Her only wish is to touch people the way romance books have impacted her. Full-circle moments, symbols, love that crawls through the trenches....give her all the high stakes.
But as emotional are her stories may be, Drea will never give up the spicy or smutty bits. NEVER. You'll always find an explosive slow burn in any book she writes.
Do you share the same tastes? We hope you'll follow along on this little journey that hopefully leads to bigger pastures.
I really wanted to like this book. I love a second chance romance and had high hopes for book 2 after finding out book 1 wasn’t actually a second chance romance but part 1 of a 2 part story.
I will say the spicy scenes were very spicy and very frequent. That I enjoyed.
What I didn’t enjoy, was the constant flashbacks to direct scenes in book one, literally copy and pasted into this book to be “reminiscent”. I didn’t like how they kept referring to the child versions of themselves as complete other entities. “I’m doing this for her not me” “That little boy found her again”. It was just annoying because it was so constant. Once or twice okay, ‘I’m doing this for the little girl in the trailer park’, that’s fine. But it was constantly making reference to their 18 year old selves as completely different people.
Also at the end of the book when Callie looks at her child and says he’s not Bryant’s child or her child, he’s her Daddy’s. REALLY pissed me off. I don’t even like the fact that a big chunk of this book was her forgiving her father and romanticizing that he would be a better father if he didn’t die. When in reality, if he didn’t die he would have ended up r***ing her. So to look at her kid with love and say it’s her Daddy’s kid doesn’t sit right with me.
Then there’s all the pointless fights between her and Bryant, where they haven’t seen each other in 10 years and they’re getting mad at each other for petty stuff that happened when they weren’t together. Then near the end of the book Bryant tells Callie he doesn’t trust her, after another pointless fight. Pissed me off even more.
I don’t know there was just a lot I didn’t like about this book unfortunately. But like I said the spice was good, and there was a HEA, but it was just a rough road to get there…but I guess that was the point of this whole Duology..

I hate this because I LOVE Drea, but I ultimately decided to DNF this at 48%.
I started it on the 2nd and finally called it quits on the 10th. The whole time, I just never found myself motivated to pick it up. I was reading a few pages at night solely so I wouldn’t lose my Kindle streak.
I really enjoyed the first book and absolutely ate it up. I think a big part of that was the suspense. I was dying to find out what happened and what ultimately led them to drift apart.
With book two, we’re in the present and they’ve found their way back to each other, but I still didn’t really understand why they “lost” each other in the first place, aside from neither of them really making an effort to reconnect.
For the most part, I felt like I could see where the story was going from there, so I just never felt that urgency to keep reading and find out what happened next.
I also think this was partly just really bad timing. I had been sick the entire week before starting this, and sometimes that completely kills my reading motivation. Usually, the only thing that can pull me out of one of those funks is a book that has the potential to become a 6-star read for me… and unfortunately, this just wasn’t that book.
I still love Drea, and I’m genuinely bummed this one didn’t work for me.
This is the second and conclusion to this impressive duet, and Callie and Brant’s journey continues. These two were childhood sweethearts, who has not seen each other for 10-years, but now circumstances have changed, and they reunite. Neither have has an easy time, and the pain from their pasts was so heartbreaking, but their love never diminished. As Callie and Brant now work through their pasts, they heal each other and individually. This is a well written easy to read, emotional roller coaster, with found family, friendships, unexpected, forced proximity, angst, challenges, tension, obsession, soulmates reuniting, second chances, secrets, redemption, PTSD rep, healing, humour, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and unconditional love, which leads to an entertaining, small-town romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
It’s been ten years since Callie Rae and Brant finally punched their ticket to leave Willow Hart, West Virginia. Physical and mental scars were left beneath those loblolly pine trees—the only evidence of their bond that remains.
Proof that they were unbreakable once upon a time. A pair of doves that promised to find their way back to each other.
Circumstances have drastically changed, but feelings remain frozen in time. Now, Callie and Brant must fly a new journey together with the risk of being torn apart once again.
Things may look a lot different beyond those godforsaken hills, but not everything is always what it seems. Because even some of the prettiest objects have blemishes. Sometimes, those blemishes are ones you’ve seen before. And when you’re finally holding onto the very thing you’ve always wanted, how do you let it go?
For Callie, the answer isn’t so simple. For Brant, the answer lies where it all began.
A destined reunion. A reluctant trip down memory lane. One final decision to see if all patches are truly greener...
when you make it to the other side.

The Other Side is the 2nd book in the Wings of Two Duet by Drea Scott.
The Other Side, the second book in Drea Scott's Wings of Two Duet, does not really invite you to read it; instead, it places your hand right on the beating heart of a love story which refuses to conform to any standard pattern. The world that Drea has created is made up of the worn remnants of Callie Rae and Brant's childhood, a kind of friendship which leaves a lasting impression on your memory long after the door has closed.
Although they are ten years apart, the atmosphere between them still vibrates with the static of all the things that have never been said. This is a romance that does not cover up the cracks; it lets you feel every jagged edge. Drea writing is full of laughter that becomes brittle, heartbreak that takes root in the bones, and hope that still shines even in the very darkest places.
What remains is not only the pain but also the manner in which Callie and Brant move through their current lives, being haunted by the memories of what they have survived; their injuries are not displayed, but can be seen in the way Brant's hand comes within reach of Callie's or in the way she jumps at the echo of a childhood memory.
Healing in this situation is not a straightforward process, but rather a gradual and uneven ascent, with each step bearing the burden of what they have carried. There is a kind of electric chemistry between them, two people who were in love as children, constantly drawn back to one another by the force of gravity and always experiencing that same old pain. Drea’s strength comes from the fleeting glances, the slight touch of a sleeve, and the tension that builds up in the silence. It is the sort of second chance at romance in which the past is never fully gone and every contact raises a question. Of all the characters, Brant's presence is a quiet storm, his deep sense of longing even overshadowing Winston's.
In my view, describing him as a "big cinnamon roll" who is fighting inner demons and has PTSD makes his character far more interesting than if he were merely a romantic interest. It was very moving to see his cautious journey towards redemption and healing. Above all, this effect is strong because Callie is not his saviour and he is not hers either; both of them have to come to terms with their own truths. Brant is not a stereotypical hero; instead, he is a man with soft edges and quiet struggles, and his kindness is bound up with the scars from past wounds.
To see him move slowly towards forgiving himself and the past was like watching a sapling push its way through earth that had been frozen. Callie is not his saviour nor is he hers; they stand together, each surrounded by the shadows of their own ghosts, and come to realise that love does not act as a remedy but rather accompanies pain.
The story does not offer an easy rescue, instead allowing both characters to stumble, fall and rise in their own way. Here, love is not a remedy that wipes out the past but a quiet presence which remains by it, refusing to look away. Their journey is not about forgetting, but about learning to bear the weight together and allowing the past to settle without letting it determine them.
The Other Side is not really an escape but rather a mirror, showing the gradual and tenacious effort involved in the process of healing; it remains a lasting impression for people who long for a romantic view of bruises and beauty and who want to see hope shine in the hands of flawed individuals.
I felt as though I had survived a storm together with them and was grateful for the rough yet beautiful manner in which Callie and Brant managed to make their way back.
The novel does not end by asking if love conquers everything, but rather by posing the question of whether we can learn to get on with the effects it leaves behind. Maybe that is the most courageous type of love story.
Drea Scott really said, “Let me put you through every single possible emotion” and I apparently said YES PLEASE. 😂
Because I was SCREAMING, CRYING AND LAUGHING my way through this entire book. I genuinely went through every emotion with Callie Rae and Brant, and I honestly don’t think I was prepared for just how much this story was going to hit me.
And I think what made this one so incredibly special to me was how much I saw myself in both Callie and Brant.
Coming from a similar upbringing, there were so many parts of their story that felt incredibly familiar. The way they carry the things they’ve been through. The scars that don’t always show. The way your past can shape you, even when you’ve physically left it behind. The feeling of trying to grow into a different version of yourself while still carrying pieces of where you came from.
There were moments where I was reading and thinking, oh… I understand this. 🥹
I understood Callie. I understood Brant. And honestly, I understood why they struggled so much to leave parts of their past behind.
That made their story hit SO much harder for me.
These two were childhood sweethearts who were separated for ten years, but somehow that connection never really disappeared. Life changed them. Circumstances changed them. They both grew and carried their own scars, but underneath everything, those feelings were STILL THERE.
The second chance romance girlies are going to EAT THIS UP.
The childhood sweethearts. The soulmates. The forced proximity. The stolen touches. The tension. The lingering feelings. The “it wasn’t over. It still isn’t over” energy.
I WAS SAT. 👏🏻
And BRANT. Oh my god, Brant. 😭
This man absolutely broke my heart.
He’s this big cinnamon roll carrying so much hurt and so many demons, and underneath all of that is a man who has loved Callie for so damn long. Watching him try to navigate everything he’s been through while still finding his way back to her had me SO deep in my feelings.
And I loved that Callie wasn’t there to magically fix him.
They both had healing to do.
They both had growing to do.
They both had to face the things that happened to them and figure out who they were outside of their past.
And THAT is what made this second chance romance work so well for me.
It wasn’t just about two people finding their way back to each other.
It was about two people who had been through some really hard shit trying to figure out if they could build something better with the pieces they had left.
And honestly? That hit me right in the fucking heart. 😭💜
There were moments where I wanted to scream at them.
Moments where I wanted to shake them.
Moments where I was laughing like an idiot.
Moments where I was crying.
And moments where I just had to sit there and take it all in because I could see pieces of myself in both of them.
The tension between them was also EVERYTHING. The stolen touches, the little looks, the forced proximity and those moments where you can feel how much they still want each other even when they’re trying so damn hard to fight it. 🫠🔥
And the PTSD representation and Brant’s journey made this story feel even more personal. I loved seeing his growth and redemption and watching him slowly start to work through the things that have followed him for so long.
But what I loved most was that their love didn’t erase what happened to them.
They didn’t magically forget their past.
They learned how to move forward with it.
And I think that’s such an important difference.
The Wings of Two Duet has officially taken my heart, stomped all over it, made me scream, cry and laugh, and then somehow handed it back to me in one piece. 😂😭💜
I finished this book feeling completely emotionally wrecked but also incredibly grateful that I got to experience Callie and Brant’s story.
Drea Scott, you really got me with this one. 🥹

PLEASE READ THIS DUET. 🕊️💜
And honestly, start with This Side. You can read The Other Side as a standalone, but I would absolutely recommend experiencing Callie and Brant’s entire journey from the beginning.
Oh. My. Heart. This book was everything I ever hoped for Brant and Callie’s story. The tension, the heartbreak and almost miss. The obsession and longing. The reunion. And the happily ever after. This one picks up 10 years after “this side” ends. We see Brant and Callie in their lives on the other side of their time growing up in Willowhart. Both have chased their dreams and lived their lives, with but one thing missing- each other. A chance job for Brant brings Callie right back into his arms and their connection is undeniable. Callie has achieved security, a job she loves, and the life she always dreamed of- but one moment gives her the stark realization that she has failed that little girl from Willowhart. “For so long, I’ve wanted to make it to the other side. Back then, my dreams were of the physical kind. I imagined the places I would go. The nicer places I would live. All the clothes and accessories I would wear when I got here. All these dreams that were valid but cost me a pretty penny. I’m living out all of those fantasies, but there’s a price I paid for it. I lost a part of me.”
This book tackles the PTSD of Callie’s life with her daddy, and through flashbacks we see just how much that time has continued to haunt both her and Brant. In one pivotal moment, after everything, we see Callie confront the haunting image of her Daddy, and give herself permission to be okay. To never again be hurt and to be denied of the love she deserves. Drea handles some very serious topics in this book and they are done beautifully. This story has a “Notebook” feel to it, in the journey the two MC’s take to find their way back to each other. The only thing I had hoped for was for more conflict between Jesse and Brant, but that’s just my own personal take. Overall this book was incredible and I couldn’t put it down. Those scenes between Brant and Callie… 🥵🌶️ phewwww… but you can feel the love and complete adoration they have for each other. So many amazing and important moments happen for the characters- they get a chance to revisit their past selves, and they give each other a chance to forgive and be at peace. They kept their promises to themselves, and to each other… two doves will always fly back to each other 💜

First of all I want to thank Drea Scott and Luna Literary for the ARC of the The Other Side :)
Y'all... This was a beautiful yet emotional way to end Callie and Brant's story. I read the first book just a few days ago and I'm glad I did that so all the storylines were fresh in my memory. I was very curious to see how the duet was going to end and OMG, this book exceeded my expectations
Callie and Brant reuniting after 10 years was heartbreaking but filled with hope which made their journey that much more rewarding. It was real and raw, which fits the theme perfectly. They both carried a lot of pain from their childhood as well as the years spent apart. The one thing that never wavered was the love that had for each other. Getting to see them work through their past, have slip ups while healing together was one of the things I enjoyed most about this book
Drea Scott did a fantastic job at showcasing how messy healing can be. Love alone can't fix everything and this duet particularly book 2 is a perfect example of that. Callie and Brant had to face their trauma head on, especially if they wanted to be able to move forward with their lives. They also had to learn to trust one another again, which was easier said than done as well. Watching these two find themselves as adults was really cool because in order to go back to each other they had to discover who they are now, not who they were 10 years ago
Brant... Where do I begin? He's patient yet protective while also willing to do any and everything for Callie. The chemistry between these two you can feel it through the pages. Brant's got a DIRTY MOUTH Y'ALL (had to point that out lol). The emotional moments hit just as hard if not harder than the romantic ones because it shows you how real this is for Brant and Callie both. Side Note: Could not stand Jesse, like BYE
Y'all, the flashbacks added so much depth to the story and it gives readers the ability to fall in love with these characters all over again or even more so. The ending was so well done, I thought it was the best way for the story to end. I loved the epilogue! Getting a glimpse into what their lives look like now had me smiling the entire time I was reading it, they got the happy ending they both deserved
If you are a fan of second-chance romance, friends-to-lovers, emotional journey's that will take you on a ride that have healing involved, then this duet is for you. I highly recommend it, as long as y'all read This Side first to get the full effect of Callie and Brant's story
Again, thank you to Luna Literary and Drea Scott for the ARC of The Other Side, this duet will stay with me for a while so I appreciate the opportunity to read this book early :)
The Other Side is book two of a duet and you definitely need to read book 1 first! I really like this authors writing style and Book 1, for me, finished perfectly where Callie and Brant through a series of events went their separate ways and lost touch. There was no big fight they just knew that they each needed to go off and live their lives "on the other side". In this book we meet them 10 years later where Callie is engaged to someone else and Brant somewhat gets around. I get it, they needed to go off and live life, they didn't make any promises to each other so when I went into this book I was expecting it.
Brant and Callie are unexpectedly thrown into each others orbit again (although arguably Brant engineered it to a degree). Their connection is immediate and they can't stay away from each other. They have some hurt and trauma to work through but they do come out the other side together and stronger. There is cheating in this book but not between the main characters. I enjoyed their story but it didn't grab me the way the first book did.
Here's why it didn't quite strike the same chord with me as book 1: In book 1 Brant is obsessed with Callie, in their separating period it's implied he's "gotten around" which I understood but this book kicks off with Brant having made the decision to go after Callie but then we get to read about him someone else and we get to hear all about how nice etc she is and how well he performed - he's even cocky about it. He then spends time with her after Callie returns to his life. The author does try to explain it away and there are some things (and I won't spoil it) but between this and a few other things mentioned in Brants pov it gave a bit of an air of "it was always you but when it wasn't it was everyone else". It diminished their epic love story or me! It would have really struck at the emotions if we had seen his struggle to move on, his reasoning why he needed to, the pining and moments he thought about Callie but we get very little of that and what happened in their time apart.
Callie in the intervening 10 years got stuck with the horrible fiance and a few boyfriends. I would have loved to have seen her struggle to move on and her pining. They also never really have it out as to why it took 10 years to find each other again. That could have been an incredibly emotional moment!
The Other Side was such a beautiful and emotional ending to Callie Rae and Brant's story. After finishing the first book, I couldn't wait to see what happened next, and this book completely topped up my expectations.
Seeing Callie and Brant reunite after ten years apart was heartbreaking, hopeful, and so rewarding (I was low key rooting for them to find each other in every universe). Their journey wasn't perfect or easy, and that's what made it feel real. They both carried so much pain from their childhoods and the years they spent apart, but the love they had for each other never truly disappeared. Watching them work through their past, make mistakes, and slowly heal together was one of my favorite parts of the story.
I loved how emotional and raw this book felt. Drea Scott did an amazing job showing that healing is messy and that love alone doesn't magically fix everything. Callie and Brant had to face their trauma, learn to trust again, and find themselves before they could truly find their way back to each other.
Brant completely stole my heart in this book. He was protective, patient, devoted, and willing to do anything for Callie. Their chemistry was incredible, and the emotional moments hit just as hard as the romantic ones. I laughed, cried, got frustrated, and smiled throughout the entire book. And yes, I definitely couldn't stand Jesse!
The flashbacks added so much depth to the story and reminded me why I fell in love with these characters in the first place. The ending and epilogue had me emotional and left me with the biggest smile.
If you love second-chance romance, childhood friends-to-lovers stories, emotional healing journeys, and a romance that stays with you long after you finish reading, I highly recommend this duet. Just make sure you read This Side first.
Did I just got a +1 in my favorite author list? Yes!!! Drea, I love you!! and I am never going to miss your books.
Thank you for sharing Callie and Brant with me and all of us readers, they will remain with me forever and I am going to re-read these 2 books again and again...💜📖✨
Okay, Drea Scott… you really went there with this one. 😭 I thought I was prepared to jump back into Callie and Brant’s world after This Side, but apparently I was very wrong. Their story took me through every possible emotion, and by the time I reached the end, I felt like I had personally lived through all of it with them.
One of my favorite things about this book was getting to see who Callie and Brant had become after all those years. They weren’t the same people they were before, and their past didn’t just magically disappear because they found their way back to each other. There was hurt, baggage, difficult conversations, and plenty they still needed to work through.
And honestly? That made their love story so much better.
Brant had my whole heart. The way he cared for Callie, gave her space when she needed it, and continued to show up for her had me completely swooning. 🥹 But Callie’s growth was just as important. Watching her face the things she had spent years running from and slowly put the pieces of herself back together was one of the most meaningful parts of the book.
The emotional side of this story was HUGE. The flashbacks, the tension, the little moments between them, and all the things left unsaid had me completely invested. I laughed, I cried, I got frustrated, and yes… I absolutely had some opinions about Jesse. 😂
And then came the ending. My heart was not ready. After everything these two had endured, seeing where they finally landed gave me the kind of happy, emotional ending I was hoping for.
Drea Scott has officially earned herself a spot on my “I’ll read whatever you write” list because this duet gave me characters I cared about, a love story that felt earned, and ALL the feelings.
If second-chance romance, childhood connections, emotional healing, complicated history, and a couple you’re going to obsess over are your thing, you need Callie and Brant’s story on your TBR.
Just don’t skip This Side. Trust me—you’ll want the whole journey. 🤍
5 ⭐️ — and a very emotional one at that!
Thank you Drea and Luna for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!
Thank you to Drea Scott for once again trusting me with an advanced copy. After 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘚𝘪𝘥𝘦, I was genuinely excited to return to these characters and see how their story would conclude.
Unfortunately, I struggled with Brant in this sequel. I expected both characters to still be carrying trauma from everything they had experienced, but some of his behaviour toward Callie went beyond that for me. At times, I found him manipulative, condescending and unnecessarily cruel, particularly when he used physical intimacy as a way to punish or control her. There was a double standard in what he expected from Callie versus what he allowed himself that made me deeply uncomfortable.
What made this especially difficult was how much it seemed to contradict what I loved about their relationship in 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘚𝘪𝘥𝘦. Callie’s first journey was largely about finding her strength and breaking free from a controlling relationship with her father, with Brant being the person she could trust and feel safe with. In 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘖𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘪𝘥𝘦, I sometimes felt as though she had escaped one controlling dynamic only to find herself in another. I wanted to see more of the strong Callie I had come to know and more growth from both of them as they worked through their past.
I also found myself thinking about younger female readers. Personally, I would have liked the story to more clearly challenge some of Brant’s behaviours rather than risk presenting manipulation, possessiveness and unequal expectations as expressions of intense love.
There is still a lot I appreciate about Drea Scott’s storytelling, and I continue to see so much potential in her writing. I just wish this conclusion had taken a different approach to Brant and Callie’s relationship and allowed them to grow together in a way that felt healthier and more consistent with the characters I fell in love with in the first book.
I want to say Thank you to Drea Scott for trusting me to be apart of her ARC team and @lunaliterary.management for the opportunity to get an ARC of this book!
I didn’t think Drea could make me love Callie Rae and Brant more… and then I read The Other Side. 🕊️🤍
This book was everything I hoped it would be after reading “This Side” which is book one of the Wings of Two Duet and somehow so much more. Seeing Callie and Brant years later, carrying the weight of everything they’d survived while trying to find their way back to each other, completely shattered my heart.
What I loved most was that this wasn’t just a reunion romance, it was about healing old wounds, facing the past, and realizing that love isn’t always enough unless you’re willing to fight for it. Every chapter had me hoping these two would finally get the peace they had been searching for.
Drea has such a beautiful way of writing characters that feel incredibly real. There were moments that made me smile, moments that absolutely broke me, and plenty that reminded me why I fell in love with these characters in the first place.
If you love emotional second chance romance, soulmates, small town stories, and books that will have you feeling every emotion right alongside the characters, The Other Side is one you won’t want to miss. Just be prepared to have your heart put through the wringer before Drea puts it back together. 🤍📚🕊️
This story absolutely blew me away. After reading This Side I couldn’t wait for the next half of Callie & Brant’s story. Drea delivered on EVERY emotional aspect. I smiled, swooned, cried and felt like my heart was breaking with them. I am a sucker for first love/childhood friends and this was EVERYTHING. This was a second chance first love done right and this duet will live rent free
Seeing these two reconnect after 10 years apart and I called exactly how it was happening was so emotional and hopeful for them. Their whole love story is messy, and raw and Drea didn’t shy away from making you feel that. They both have so much trauma to work through and learning to trust each other after 10 years. Seeing the flashbacks throughout was perfect to bring the past and present full circle.
Brant was the biggest cinnamon roll who wanted nothing but to protect and save Callie. Their chemistry was undeniable and the mouth on this man was something 😍🔥🫠 literally melting reading it while it was all written so well and could feel all their emotions.
The ending and epilogue were everything and this was such a raw beautiful story
Thank you so much Drea and Luna Literary for the ARC

You can know you’re walking into an emotional book. You can know Callie and Brant’s history. You can think This Side prepared you for what’s coming. It didn’t. You can never prepare for this type of emotion.
Ten years have passed, and somehow the connection between these two still feels just as strong. They’ve grown up, built lives, chased dreams and carried so much of their past with them. Finding their way back to each other isn’t simple, and I loved that it wasn’t.
This felt like so much more than a second-chance romance. It’s about healing, forgiveness, confronting the things you thought you escaped and realizing that making it “to the other side” doesn’t necessarily mean you left everything behind.
Brant absolutely stole my heart. His patience, devotion and love for Callie had me melting. But Callie’s journey was equally powerful. Watching her confront her past and recognize the pieces of herself she’d left behind was heartbreaking and beautiful.
The flashbacks. The longing. The tension. The little stolen moments. THE DOVES. Drea Scott, I have questions about what exactly you were trying to do to my emotional stability here.
I cried. I smiled. My heart hurt. And somehow, by the end, all those pieces were put back together again.
if the first book quietly settled into my heart, this one completely wrecked it and then somehow put all the pieces back together 😭❤️ this book was everything i needed from Callie and Brant's story. after everything they went through, watching them find their way back to each other was so incredibly emotional 🥹🫠 there's something so beautiful about a love that survives years, distance, heartbreak, and everything life throws at it. c Callie and Brant have always felt like two people who were meant to find their way back to each other, and this book made that feeling even stronger 🥹🖐🏼 this book, it's not just about them falling in love again, it's about confronting the past, facing old wounds, forgiving, growing, and finally allowing themselves to have the life they always deserved 🫡 and THE EMOTIONAL PAYOFF??? 😭 the moments i had been waiting for since book one were worth every single page. i genuinely felt like i was experiencing everything alongside them, and by the end i was just sitting there like 🧎🏻♀️❤️ this is such a beautiful, emotional conclusion to Callie and Brant's story. it hurt, it healed, it made me cry, it made me smile, and most importantly, it gave these two the ending they deserved 🥹 some love stories are about finding someone. this one is about finding your way back home to them ❤️ and now im supposed to just move on from Callie and Brant like they didn't just become a permanent part of my brain??? absolutely not 😭
I recieved an advanced reader’s copy and this is my honest review.
My oh my. What can I say about this book. You will need to have read book 1 of this duet, This Side. I love the fact that she split this story into a duet because I don’t think the back and forth between they young childhood and adult life would have been as great and as in depth as it is. There’s no confusion on the back and forth and I’m just so happy we have their young love in book 1 and their adult lives in this book.
We come into this book knowing they’re going to actually meet again of course. I honestly did not see Callie’s story being this way. Her current relationship status and how Drea made them meet for the first time again was twisting my heart. I literally was so sad for the both of them.
This book made me feel all the emotions I knew would come after reading book 1. It was written beautifully again. It was raw, gritty, and stayed true to the heart of it all.
The spicy scenes are high spice and I looooved them all. Brant has a dirty mouth and just like Callie, I was all for it.
Look I don’t know what else to say besides I love this duet so much. It made me cry but also healed a little bit of me. To all the Callie Raes and Brants in this world who think they can’t make it to the other side, as long as you stay true to yourself, you will.
Let me take a moment and say this book blew my expectations out of the water.
Brant and Callie were always meant to find each other again. When they do it's heartbreaking. 💔
Brant waited 10 years to find her and even when he moved closer to her he still doesn't go looking for her. Hear is powerful, it prevents people from taking that leap to get to their dream.
Callie tries her hardest to reconnect with Brant and just stay friends but when your soul calls out to someone it is a call you truly cannot ignore.
The tension and heartache picks up right where it left off from book one. There is a lot of pain these two have to work through but to watch them grow and become who they were truly meant to be was one of the most beautiful things I have ever read in a book. Having book one be about them as teens and seeing their trauma and book two be about them overcoming that trauma - beautiful.
I love how they went back to Willowheart and they both faced their demons and healed their inner child that was so deeply hurt and when they came back home, were finally ready to face their future and be who they were always meant to be.
Two doves who never fly alone.
Thank you Drea Scott, Love Notes PR, and Luna Literary Management for letting me read an early copy of this book for my free and honest review.

This book completely wrecked me in the best possible way.
Callie Rae and Brant’s story made me feel everything, and I loved how deeply I connected with both of them. After ten years apart, their love was still there beneath all the hurt, and watching them find their way back to each other while carrying so much from their past hit me right in the heart.
Brant was everything I wanted him to be: patient, protective, devoted, and completely obsessed with Callie Rae. Their chemistry, tension, stolen touches, and longing were EVERYTHING, but the emotional side was what really stayed with me. I loved that love wasn’t treated as a magical cure. They both had to face their trauma, grow, and figure out how to move forward without losing themselves.
I laughed, cried, swooned, got frustrated, and basically went through the entire emotional spectrum with these two. The flashbacks, PTSD representation, healing, growth, and redemption added so much depth, and that ending left me ridiculously happy. Callie Rae and Brant absolutely stole my heart, and this was such a beautiful, emotional, and satisfying way to finish their journey.
My heart may have been put through it, but honestly, it was worth every second.

Huge thank you to Drea Scott and Love Notes PR for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨
Just devoured The Other Side by @authordreascott in one sitting!
This is part two of a duet. You need to read part one, This Side, which is currently available, first!
This book was definitely spicier than the first as they are older now (28). The only thing that kept this from being 5 stars for me personally is that the cheating trope is a bit triggering for me. I did find it to feel more realistic to the story though and it definitely shows the level of trauma that Callie still lives with.
The Other Side picks up with Brant and Callie finally being reunited 10 years later. They navigate reuniting, continuing to face the trauma of their childhoods, make a lot of mistakes, and eventually heal together. While there are a lot of ups and downs, they finally get their happy ending.
The Other Side will be available August 13. Add to your TBR and go read This Side now to prepare!

I was so excited to finally get the rest of Callie Rae and Brant’s story after the way the first book ended, and it did not disappoint.
After everything they endured to get to this point, they deserved every bit of their happily ever after. One of my favorite parts of this book was watching Brant make it his mission to help Callie Rae rediscover herself and become the strong, confident woman she was always meant to be.
Brant was already one of my favorite book boyfriends after This Side, but seeing the man he grew into in this book made me love him even more. He was protective, patient, fiercely devoted…and let’s just say he definitely knew how to bring the spice. 🌶️🔥
This duet completely stole my heart. It’s emotional, beautifully written, and full of a love that never stopped fighting for its way back. If you haven’t started the Wings of Two Duet yet, I can’t recommend it enough.
Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read and review this ARC! 🤍
Trigger Warnings Cheating(not between MC's) Ill-Parent Past Child Abuse Depictions of Domestic Abuse
Thank you so much for this ARC. This book completely gripped me from start to end and I devoured it. I loved the first part of this duet so much and the second was just as beautiful and heartbreaking. Seeing them 10 years later after living apart, growing up and achieving their goals in life was emotional to read. They reunite when Brant gets offered a job and happens to run into Callie. From there past feelings resurface and they have to navigate their past + present feelings in this second chance they've been given. Brant and Callie didn't have the best role models growing up or the easiest life but seeing them in this second book work through their past, heal from it and be able to create a future that was bigger, better and full peace was moving to read. The 🌶️ scenes With Brant were 🥵🥵🥵 I had every emotion reading this duet and it won't disappoint to read this incredible and captivating story.
It’s been 10 years since Callie Rae walked away from Brant and the trailer of horrors. 10 years since they made promises to each other. “We’re gonna be dancing and laughing in a barn just like that one day. You and me. Understand?” So much can happen in that amount of time. When you think you’re on “the other side” because you’re engaged to a wealthy man. You have all of the diamonds you can want. Your garden is thriving…but then the dark slowly starts to show. History starts repeating itself. One day the architect shows up and the light just shines through. You can see sunflowers and doves. What do you do? I think this quote said it best…”When you don’t try, that’s when it’s impossible”. You revisit the past. You face the fears that haunt you. You forgive. You change the story Willowhart had. You dance. You put on the pink cowboy boots. You have the kids. You have the life that at one point you could only dream of having. Second chances aren’t granted to everyone. Brant and Callie were one of the lucky ones.
My only criticism is that I wish there was more conflict with Jesse and Brant and/or Callie. There’s no way a man like Jesse would have taken her leaving that “easily”. But, the story wasn’t about him.

The Other Side is book two of Drea Scott's Wings of Two duet. You must read book one in order to really connect with Callie Rae and Brant, and fully understand all the baggage they have. And oh boy is there a lot to unpack in both books.
In book two we find both Callie Rae and Brant coasting through life, not really living. They're both going through the motions and what they feel is expected of them. One day that all changes when they both reconnect.
So much sobbing(happy and sad tears) that at one point my husband handed me a box of tissues. Having a front row seat to these two finding each other again had me so giddy! Drea always wrecks me and then puts me back together.
Her playlist for this book is top tier(as always). I like how Drea weaves music into her stories. For me, it really puts me in the mindset of what these characters are thinking and sets the mood. I also like when I hear the songs on her playlist in the wild I instantly think of these characters. Remind Me of Carrie Underwood. I will cry and think of Callie Rae and Brant every time I hear it from now on.
Add This Side and The Other Side to your TBR now! As always, check for trigger warnings before reading.
A second chance romance where fate brings two people together after a decade apart. A good conclusion to Brant and Callie Rae's story. This is part of a duet, so reading the first book will provide the background behind this second chance romance. This story is not just about two souls finding their way back to each other, but about healing from past trauma, finding yourself, and being the person your inner child needed.
While the story is more on the simpler side, you still feel a connection to the characters, and gain a better understanding of how they have navigated adulthood after a traumatic upbringing. Although I was happy to see Brant and Callie Rae reconnect, I wanted more of a slower burn because I felt they just jumped right back into where they were years before. However, I do think this was the author's intent, so this may simply be a me thing, as I prefer a second chance that is more gradual. The spice is spicing in this one, so if you do not like overly spicing this may not be for you.
Overall, I enjoyed this, and felt the author offered their own twist on a second chance romance. If you love soulmates, fated mates, and best friends to lovers to strangers to lovers again the wings of two is a great duet to add to your TBR.
Thank you Lovenotes Pr and Drea Scott for the ARC.
After the cliffhanger in the first book, Other Side finally gives Brent and Callie Rae the conclusion they deserve.
More than ten years later, they are no longer the teenagers we knew. Brent has built the successful life he always dreamed of, while Callie has chosen financial security over love, determined never to experience the poverty and instability of her childhood again. But when they meet again, it becomes clear that neither of them has ever truly moved on.
What I loved most about this book is the constant connection between past and present. Both characters are still trying to keep the promises they made to their younger selves, while also learning how much their childhood wounds continue to influence their adult choices.
Their relationship is intense, painful, and deeply emotional. This is not simply a second-chance romance, but a story about breaking old patterns, healing together, and finally allowing yourself to choose love without being controlled by fear.
After everything Brent and Callie Rae went through, seeing their story come full circle was incredibly satisfying. A beautiful and emotional ending to their journey.
Review of advance copy of The Other Side received from Luna Literary. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tropes: 💜 Second Chance 🕊️ Unexpected Forced Proximity 💜 Soulmates Reunited 🕊️ Childhood/Teenage Sweethearts 💜 Man Obsessed 🕊️ "It wasn't over. It still isn't over..." vibes 💜 Cinnamon Roll MMC with lingering demons 🕊️ Growth + Redemption ARC 💜 Stolen Touches + Tension 🕊️ PTSD Rep
This is book two in the Wings of Two duet and I would definitely recommend that you read part one, which is called This Side first! Because this is the most beautiful conclusion EVER to Brant and Callie’s story.
The Other Side picks up Brant and Callie’s story in their grown years (28) because of this it’s definitely a lot spicier which I LOVED! This novel is a journey of reunification, facing the trauma of their childhoods and ultimately one of healing. It’s not a straightforward path for them which only has you rooting harder for their happily ever after.
Their time apart gave them space to grow, whilst never ever forgetting about one another. This story is real, messy, emotional and full to the brim with love. Drea, thank you for bring us Callie and Brants story and for looking after them so well 🩷
If you have read This Side then you know The Other Side is the conclusion of Callie Rae and Brant's story.
I always love an emotional story with healing and forgiveness. This beautifully raw story is everything I wanted for Callie and Brant.
It's been ten years. Ten years. Since they walked away from each other to find their way on the Other Side. I loved how their past is interwoven into this story reminding me of their history and the love they once shared.
I love the accidental forced proximity and how they navigate the other side. They have had years to heal and bury the ghosts of their past, but they needed each other to truly find healing. This journey is raw, beautiful, emotional, and I loved every minute I spent in their story.
I love Brant's discipline with their new relationship and the way he encourages Callie to stand up for herself. Some things change with maturity and time and some things always stay the same. Will Callie find the peace she seeks on the other side?
The Other Side is a beautiful story and the ending is pure perfection, in my opinion.
I encourage all readers who love an emotional story with healing, friendship, and love to add The Other Side to their TBR.
