Mystery. Romance. Deception.

You know what they say, hate is a strong emotion- so is love. You can only hate someone you place in high esteem since you care about what they think.

When Juliet Greene secures an internship position at the Empire Heights hotel, and things seem to be finally going her way, a brief encounter causes her life to turn upside down. Getting in the way of the hostile, unfeeling, yet wickedly magnetic billionaire Adrian Vandermir, Julie suddenly gets thrown into a situation that's too much for her to handle. Wanting to have little to do with this and the infuriating Vandermir, she nonetheless convinces herself that his decisions would be best for her family's own safety. But when things begin to get out of hand, she discovers that she has more to do with the dangerous situation Adrian is involved in than she or anyone else could ever imagine.

In the hopes of ending the matter, both must endure each other's company as they take a trip together which reveals unbearable past secrets and irresistible desires. Desires that Julie fears would only deepen her wounds, but somehow heal Adrian's.

Excerpt:

"Look, if you're-"

"Shut up."

I was taken back at the sudden manner in which he spoke to me.

"Let's get something straight Miss Greene, I don't appreciate people talking back at me. And quite frankly, you're crossing your limit with me and my patience with you. So from now on, as long as you're with me you'll do as I say. Understood?"

I’m only rating this book because I think some authors on Wattpad do not get enough attention for their hard work.
The author’s writing style is extremely good and I really liked the story.
The main characters did NOT fall in love with each other after the tenth chapter as in other Wattpad stories and that’s what I liked the most about this book.
I enjoyed reading it and would definitely recommend reading it as it is on Wattpad.

My God, if I could gave 0 stars I would do it. it was one of the worst books I have ever read. it's all over the place, every cliche is in this book, one time she is speaking about mafia and next how hard working Adrian is. and all this crying. I am really patient person and I give every author a chance but this was too much for me

By just reading the blurb, the book had 'cliche' written all over it. Though it did have a cliche based story line it was a good read. There were twists and turns that made the book seem like it could turn out any way, made me second guess thinking that it is cliche. Sometimes it kept me on the edge of my seat, other moments I just sat reading it with a huge grin on my face. I was not disappointed by my choice to read this book.

This book is ugghh.

⚠PLEASE DON'T JUDGE ME I AM JUST WATTPAD ADDICT SIMPLY PUBLISHED BOOKS DOESN'T SATISFY ME

I wasn't truly satisfied with the ending, what he did at the end (proposing scene) he could have don't it better something that would suite him and his personality. He could do this in his own vlad style but that's just my opinion *shrugs* which doesn't really matters.

But I still love it!

H approved!

The fact that I had to read the book through Celine's blog wasn't the best. I didn't like that I had to go hunt for the next chapter all the time... or had to go back to the contents page. It messed with the immersion a bit.

The story itself was pretty awesome. Especially how it started and all the twists on the way. I loved the character development and the fact that it wasn't rushed. Once they started having feeling for each other, they still keot their previous personalities. Which is not something that often happens in books, which is why I'm not generally a huge fan of romance in books.

The last few chapters seemed too rushed and all loose ends just made into a knot to end it. I really didn't like that.
And what about her brother?? He went into a coma and we didn't find out what happened after thar.

Overall pretty good book tho.

I absolutely hated this book... It was the writing style amping absolutely hating the characters. Sitting there reading through Juliets POV made me want to stab myself and die. She was unlikable in my opinion. They are both hella bipolar and I’m not sure what the author was trying to accomplish with their random bursts of emotion. Juliet would cry all the time and the say things like “I am not the type to ever cry” like THATS ALL YOUVE BEEN DOING THIS WHOLE BOOK. All the others characters and dialogue where so random and I felt it was so awkward. Like any intense moments were just awkward and weird. I mostly just hated Juliet I felt if her head space where a better place to be in I would have enjoyed it more. The text was so clumped together and it was draining. She was mentally asking questions 26/7 like Jesus woman. Like one moment she’d be like but what if he’s hurt, but like no I hate him, but like he’s so hot, but like what about this , and that and I just what? I had no attachment to any character and didn’t even get her relation to Finneas it was just odd... like why did he cry about her just what? This whole book was a huge question mark and I disliked it. Would not recommend :/

Okay so first i didn’t wanted to read this book at all. But then i really wanted to kill time so I gave it a try. And I was so pleasantly suprised i fell in love. No matter what you say, Adrian is THE IDEAL man. Cold yet caring, kind of playful, and So confident. Say it’s cliché or i don’t know what but im in love. OH AND HOW COULD I FORGET: HE NEVER LIED TO HER!
He’s honest and strong!
I love love love this book, all the characters(even Rollicie had so much class). I enjoyed reading EVERY line of this story. Oh and did you see the the plot twists? This is one of my favorite book.

This. Book. Was. SO FREAKIN GOOD. The characters were amazing, even though Juliet was annoying at times lol. BUT ADRIAN & THE OTHER GUYS WERE SO HOT LIKE WOAH. This is definitely my kind of book & I'm really really hoping you write something like this in the future or at least similar characters because damn Adrian has my heart. The plot was amazing I loved how it was so mysterious and I just loved every bit of this book, every scene. Truly one of the best books on wattpad! 👏🏼👏🏼

Read on Wattpad.

The storyline was not bad. It was hard for me to believe with how awful he treated her that they fell in love. Really? I can’t see with the things he says that she would not hate him. So much goes on in this book that the character development slacks. That being said the mystery and suspense is so well done that I couldn’t tell what was going to happen next. I loved it.

I mean... I kinda like it, only because I like the cold, dark and too-handsome-for-its-own-good type of man, but the girl was way too exasperating, honestly there were moments that I just couldn’t handle her reactions and her whimpers. The story is good, cliché, but also it has very unexpected scenes and cool moments.
But above all that, I did not like it that much, I was expecting something more I guess.

I feel unkind writing this review, but I have to be honest. I am very surprised... this book came recommended and I was eager to read it. But um.. I just found the writing very bad. There's no other way to say it. It was choppy and did not evoke the emotions I think it intended to. The heroine came across as simple minded. There were many cliches. I don't know that I can even mark this read. I got to chapter 2 maybe. I found it hard to follow and unbelievable.

When I first read the book, I loved it. The suspense is too good. It makes you ask questions, keeps you on the edge and wanting to find out what happens next. The whole plot is great as well.
But I could see the flaws on my second read. The characters are all over the place. Specially the female lead, she claims to be a different person and yet wherever Adrian is concerned she acts very differently from what she claims to be. There are scenes that do not naturally fall into the ongoing event, they seemed out of place.
And the male lead, Adrian, could have been more understandable if we could have had his side of story.
Adrian left Juliet in quite a few difficult situations and though he saved her at the end but his leaving without any explanations was not justified. The situations where he could not have spelt the exact words that he would come back for her, he could have at least giver her a hint in some form of secret talk. But he left without any hope abd even after that Juliet was too quick to accept him back.
The story was quite cliché and the ending seemed too easy. It felt like the drama that should have been the highest when she was at her father’s house was too quickly gone without any major drama.
The story is nice for one time read.
