** Top British book reviewer says Kingston Court has best love scenes in a contemporary novel.**

Sometimes you have to fall to learn you can fly. Samantha and Natalie are at a crossroads. Gorgeous, over-the-top Samantha, hides from her past by hanging her status and her happiness on her "perfect" husband. That is until she learns his secret. But she's not the only mother on the block struggling.

Natalie, nurturing and careful, is thrust back into the workforce after her husband barely survives a near-fatal car accident.

This fast-paced novel follows the lives of two dramatically different women who are faced with life-altering experiences. Death and misfortune in the span of a single year force these two women to either sink, or rediscover their inner strength and independence.

Described as a modern day twist between Sex and the City and Desperate Housewives, Kingston Court is full of scandal, temptation, and all of life's juicy little secrets.

Ooh! I love it when a book helps me escape the grind of everyday life and reality and not only that is really well written! Kingston Court was just what the doctor ordered for this reader. What a refreshing change in women's fiction. After comparisons to Sex & The City I was not sure what to expect but really, this book holds it's own without needing to be compared to anything else.

Samantha and Natalie are at a crossroads. Gorgeous, over-the-top Samantha, hangs her status and her happiness on her “perfect” husband. That is until she learns his secret.

But she’s not the only mother on the block struggling. Natalie, nurturing and careful, is thrust back into the workforce after her husband barely survives a horrifying car crash. However, it isn’t just her new job co-hosting a national morning news show that keeps her busy. Alik, the hot young production assistant, does everything in his power to seduce the woman he loves.

The book shares a year in the lives of both of these women. Samantha and Natalie both live in Kingston Court and are neighbours. Each chapter shares an alternating part of the journey of their very different lives and I LOVED both storylines hugely. To reveal too much about their lives would be to drop spoilers in but trust me, the plot is great and very readable, very addictive and you will just want more. At the end of each chapter I was desperate to read the next and loved knowing both the stories were heading towards a super finish!

This was one of those books where I did not always relate to, or agree with choices each of the women made, yet at other times I did relate and totally understood my "sisters". There was not one character that I did not like, including the peripheral characters in the novel and every single person was easy to picture, connect with and believe. On top of all of that this book is a lot of fun!

We watch them juggle difficult decisions, battle emotions, temptations and the often difficult choice between what is right for them and what is just "right". The women both had plenty of character and enough flaws to be really easy to like. I found myself often in the role of the counselling friend as Samantha and Natalie faced different situations, thinking of what I would advise them should they be confiding in me. That made me realise that is what the book was like - a bit like curling up and listening to a couple of friends tell all about their not-so-perfect lives. I loved it!

If you like women's fiction, a good story, some realistic storylines plus a bit of sizzle and scandal, you will really enjoy Kingston Court. I have to give kudos to Holly Kammier as the sex scenes in this book really are hot and sizzling, but so tastefully and realistically done, it doesn't push the book over into erotica like some can, they are quite possibly some of the best sex scenes in the way they were written in any book of this genre I have read. Not too much, not too little. Just right.

A highly recommended read, a good one for a book club read too as the group could discuss the different choices that both women make versus morals, what is right/wrong and what they would choose or do in the same situation. It would be a good giggle of a book to read together too. This one gets an easy 5 stars from me and I am thrilled to have read it. I would eagerly read anything written by Holly Kammier and kind of wish there was a follow up to this so I can see how Samantha and Natalie are getting on now.

This goes on my long list of books competing to be in my Top Ten reads of 2016.

I was enticed to read this book by Holly Kammier and received a copy in exchange for a fair and honest review, many thanks.

I really enjoyed Kingston Court!! The book is told from the perspectives of its two main characters, Samantha and Natalie. Each has their own, distinct personality and set of life changing events, and I found ways to relate to both of them. The reality of their situations made this a roller coaster ride of a read. Ms. Kammier did a great job of creating a "chic lit" book with substance.

I'm looking forward to seeing what this author comes up with next!

4.5* No spoiler review of Kingston Court by Holly Kammier

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found I couldn't put it down and read it in one day. The main characters Natalie and Samantha, two stay at home mums, have their worlds turned upside down by events which are out of their control.

Natalie and her husband Mark are both injured when they are involved in a car accident. Natalie's injuries are not serious, but Mark is left with life threatening injuries.

Samantha's glamorous life is turned upside down when she decides its time for her to do a bit of investigation into her husband, Cameron's fidelity.

The story of how the two women cope with these life changing events is told from Natalie and Samantha's perspectives. Both the main characters felt real and believable. Natalie is instantly likeable but Samantha has an abrasive quality at first. That soon melts away and we see the vulnerable side of Samantha and I ended up really liking her.

Because of Mark's serious injuries he is unable to work and Natalie has to make the difficult decision to return to work after a long period as a stay-at-home mum. She's lucky enough to land herself with her dream job in television. Something which she'd wanted to do since leaving college, before having her children. With her heart and life now split between Los Angeles and San Diego Natalie's priorities are torn. Natalie is losing control of what is most important.

For Samantha, a trip home to stay with her mother through surgery and recovery gives her time to think. A chance encounter with a high school boyfriend makes Samantha explore the feelings of whether she's been dissatisfied with her life and her marriage to Cameron.

Both women have qualities and strength to deal with what lies ahead, but you'll have to read it for yourself to find out if they succeed.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author through THE Book Club on Facebook in exchange for an honest review. I very much appreciate having the opportunity to read this well written, enjoyable book.

While attending WonderCon last weekend, I across Holly Kammier's booth in the small press area and her book, Kingston Court. She told me about her book and while I hadn't see Desperate Housewives, I came off of reading David Coon's book and my presentation on suburbia, so I thought I would give it a shot.

I started reading Kingston Court that first night. Kammier divided her story between two main protagonists, Natalie and Samantha, each who were challenged by life altering events with their respective spouses. Natalie found a career and a deep, passionate bond with a young man, while Samantha eventually found love close to home.

While the story was not altogether original in structure, Kammier excelled with her characters: Natalie and Samantha were well developed, frail characters. Their respective hardships and pains handled with sensitivity; for me, there were times when I could identify with the feelings of each woman, especially during the scenes when Natalie says goodbye to Alik and when Samantha loses Elena. And, since this is also a romance, the love scenes were exciting, but tastefully written by Kammier and was in keeping with the heart and tone of the entire book. Overall, this was an enjoyable story.

This is a story told from the points of view of Natalie and Samantha. Both live on Kingston Court and both experience major changes to their lives due to events beyond their control. We then see through their eyes, how they cope, the changes that happen to them and their families and the emotional ups and downs. I really enjoyed this and felt that the two stories complimented each other very well, keeping my attention throughout. Part Desperate housewives, part romance, wholly readable.Of the two women that are at the heart of this novel, I found Samantha grew on me as the book progressed, and she developed, but Natalie was appealing from the start. Of the men Alik was possible a little too good to be true but appealing nonetheless. The author has produced a book with believable characters, real-to-life situations and emotional impact. It is the sort of story that has you thinking "what would I do?" and yet she has kept the story light and easy to read. I will definitely be looking for this authors next offering.

WOW, Scandalous! I actually really enjoyed this and even though there were scandals (what do you expect from a neighbourhood of gossips though right?), you couldn't help but root for the main characters. They were just so damn lovable and real.

There were a few shocks I didn't see coming, which always makes me smile and whets my appetite for more. I do have one cringe worthy moment though - Samantha's mother folds the corner of her book to keep her place! ARGH! Why do people have to torture books, even if they are a fictional character, folding a fictional page in the fictional book? Broke my heart :(

I was lucky enough to win a copy of this book last year in a giveaway. Kingston Court is a well-heeled area - think Desperate Housewives without quite so much bitchiness and you've got the idea. Samantha and Natalie are our two main characters and although they socialise with the other women in the neighbourhood, they don't have a huge amount in common and in fact, have a fairly major fall-out at the beginning of the book. Both women are stay at home mums, looking after their children, running their homes and both happy with their marriages. However, their comfortable lifestyles are turned on their heads with Natalie and her husband are in a serious car crash and Samantha's husband makes a shocking revelation. The book follows them through the next few months as we hear, in alternating chapters, how they deal with their situations and cope with all the changes in their lives.

Kingston Court was a very entertaining read and there were lots of situations where I wondered not just what would the women do but what would I have done faced with their choices. Both women have to return to the world of work, deal with difficult situations with their children and have the possibility of new romance (and there are a few sizzling love scenes!). I must admit to warming more to Natalie than Samantha who seemed a bit more selfish in her choices. A lot happens to the women over the course of the year and although their stories seems quite separate, a lot of the issues they face are very similar. By the end, the stories come together again with the possibility of renewed and deeper friendship as they both prepare to move on in their lives. A easy, escapist read which I enjoyed. Thanks to the author for being kind enough to donate copies of her book for the giveaway.

“...emotional, love, acceptance and growth, All I can say is “AWESOME”. From start to finish I could not put this book down. I fell in love with “Natalie” and “Alik” right from the start and with "HOLLY KAMMIER'S” captivating writing somewhere along the way “Samantha” worked her way into my heart too. I am excited for her release and for all avid readers like myself to enjoy this book......

Thanks to the author and TBC on Facebook for the preview copy.

I simply loved this story which was told by the viewpoints of two women (Natalie & Samantha) who lived in the same street. They both are dealing with major changes in their lives and we learn how they deal with them and come out the other side! Easy reading and I liked the characters. Would recommend.

Although not what I usually read, I was impressed by Kammier's ability to weave two distinctive women's lives in such a creative way. Filled with drama and heart, Kingston Court will delight readers who enjoy shows like Sex in the City and Desperate Housewives.

Now, this is what I call The Desperate Housewives version 2.0. I had been a big fan of that TV show when it was still airing ten years ago, and I found the girls/wive's stories really entertaining and intriguing. After reading Kingston Court, it felt like it took me back to those times when I eagerly st in front of the TV and revel in the lives of Susan Meyers and the Van De Camps and Gabriella Solis. (Okay, I apologize for the millenials who don't recognize these people I am blabbing about, but this I gotta say, Desperate Housewives was the next best thing to Sex and The City and you're missing out a lot). Okay, that's about it.

Anyway, back to Kingston Court, where the wives and neighbors chatted among themselves and gossiped just about everyone.. This book is really good, full of drama and angst and craziness. I've spent most of the night reading this, stopping at the early whispers of dawn, and I couldn't stop thinking about the characters, Natalie and Samantha, and the lives they had to take after their husbands' unexpected predicament and surprise announcements.

I had my full attention and sympathy for Natalie after what happened to her and her husband, Mark. To take all the sacrifices and bear all the burden was just too much for the sweet little housewife. I couldn't help but cry with her. With Samantha, however, well... she's another story. At first I pitied her for feeling ignored by her husband, Cameron.. But as soon as her insecurities took over her, came the pretensions and anxiety that consumed her home life. The other members or girls of the Kingston Court were all quite personable and each had a story to tell; grit, jealousy, gossips, obsession, acceptance and new beginnings.

I love getting immersed into the world created by Holly Kammier. It was like reading a real episode of a daytime drama unfolding right in front of me, and I couldn't wait until I get to the next episode. This was such a great treat! I love everyone and everything about this book. Spending about 5 hours reading this story was well worth it. Hoping to read more from Kammier real soon!

This novel was very well written and had a great story line.

I loved how part of the theme of this novel focused on middle-age women who are essentially starting over in work and dating. How common that is in real life!

We get to see these characters in many elements of their lives and read about the ups and downs of all of them.

Holly Kammier has created a memorable novel.

Holly Kammier is such an imaginative and descriptive storyteller.

I definitely think if you are looking for something fresh and fun, yet something that will make you think a little deeper in the process of reading, and even after, this one is for you. She does a great job of melding all of these elements to make the novel cohesive.

Love and Emotion and Decisions and how they affect everything. The balance of life in general. It is a great story!

This was by far one of the best books I’ve this year. The minute I think I have a storyline figured out, there is a twist.

I haven’t seen a plot like this in a while. I connected with the characters on a emotionally level. Samantha and Natalie were so relatable. I’m a SAHM and I invest everything into my child so I can relate to them.

Definitely wish there was a sequel so I can check in with them.

I won a kindle copy of this book when Holly very kindly donated ten copies to Joseph over at Relax and Read Book reviews, when he hosted a giveaway event.

In Kingston Court we are introduced to Natalie and Samantha. They are wealthy women, both are wives, Mothers and neighbours, but they fall-out quite early on in the story. This book is a year in their lives. Very separate lives.
I like how each chapter alternates between the two women and each is written from their own perspective.
I found Natalie to be a likeable character. When Natalie and her husband, Mark, are off out on a date night they are involved in a car accident which results in Mark needed a year long stay in a rehab centre. Natalie does her best to hold it together, trying to maintain as normal a life as possible whilst supporting her young children, one of which has struggles of his own. She has the support of her Mother-in-Law, but this has it's own challenges as they don't always see eye to eye. When Natalie starts a new job and Alik catches her eye, she starts to question her marriage. Mark doesn't appear to remember her as his wife and is struggling to bond again with their children, but she can't turn her back on him now can she? Will she manage to resist the temptation of Alik and the obvious chemistry between them?
Samantha is an interesting character, but I didn't warm to her the same. She seems quite insecure despite her bravado. She is married to Cameron, but things haven't been plain sailing for them either. When she attempts to surprise him by turning up at his motel whilst he's away, she is totally unprepared for what she's about to walk in on. She mourns her 'perfect' life and struggles to cope, so decides to take some time out, leaving the children with Cameron for a few weeks whilst she stays with her mother. Her mother has just had a major operation so her need for help was the perfect excuse to get away. It isn't long before she seeks comfort in the arms of another man.
By the end of the year, Natalie's and Samantha's lives are very different. So much happens in such a short time. Is there any chance they could be friends again?

I have enjoyed this book. It has it's share of sadness and happiness. It's also a bit naughty!

With thanks to Holly Kammier for my e-book copy and to Relax and Read Book Reviews for hosting a fab giveaway.

Since this book was described as a cross between "Sex and the City" and "Desperate Housewives," I had certain expectations about it, you know? I expected it to be a lighthearted, fast-reading piece of entertaining fluff. I expected it to be filled with smart sassy dialogue laced with double entendres, to relate amusing anecdotes of outlandish situations and the madcap ways in which the ladies reacted to them, and I expected those ladies to be a bunch of beautiful gossiping neighbors who are one part friends and one part back-stabbing bitches.

But that isn't what I got. This book did not meet those expectations. Nope... it exceeded them.

Sure, it's still a fast-reading, entertaining book, and there's plenty of good-looking ladies living the good life in upscale Kingston Court, but this book doesn't dwell on the way all of their lives intersect. Instead, the group fades into the background to take up supporting roles, so the author can concentrate on the two main stars of the story: Natalie and Samantha. These two beauties are forced to deal with problems that turn their lives upside down and inside out.

For Natalie, the catalyst is an automobile accident that sends her husband to the hospital and rehab center. She squeezes herself dry emotionally supporting his needs and slow recovery from a brain injury, but he gives nothing in return. He responds to his parents, but her? Blank stares and monosyllabic responses. This longtime stay-at-home mom gets a job, where she rediscovers her talents, becomes a well-liked and respected TV journalist, and gets the emotional support she so desperately needs, especially from one very special, very sexy man. Is this to be her new reality, or will her life return to "normal" again? What's more, does she even want it to?

For Samantha, a shocking discovery about her husband derails her marriage. Is it possible for them to work through it and remain friends, in spite of it all? Can she pick up the pieces of her life and get things back on track again?

See? Two very genuine problems that none of us would ever want to face. This book does a fine job following these ladies over the course of one very trying year, during which they admirably rise to the challenge and do what they have to do.

Although the problems are heavy, the book isn't written with a heavy hand. It's still a fast-reading, fairly light book. Even includes a bit of romance, and a few well-done sexual scenes.

I'd give it 4 1/2 stars.

This was my second book by Holly Kammier but it is actually her first. Here she is with another mesmeric story. She has some sort of way of enchanting you with her written words. It’s so gratifying and thrilling and captivating. I love the way her charters just pop to life in my mind. It happens so flawlessly, I become enveloped by her words and let them take me through these charters lives.

This story centers around two women living in a high status and full gossip neighborhood. They both have extreme situations happen with their husbands that alter the fate and future of their family. We go back and forth between Samantha and Natalie and their story of how they have to build themselves and their family foundation back up after a heartbreaking situation uproots it.

I can’t say enough how much Holly can entrance me with her writing. It all just comes to life and beckons to me when I put it down. I love her writing. I look forward to reading more of her work.

This was one of the best books I've read all year! I totally loved it. It showed the stark realities of married life, which is a welcome change from all the happily-ever-after stories floating around. The only issue I had was the large number of spelling mistakes e.g. spelling inhibitions as inhabitations. The book could benefit from another professional edit.
Holly Kammier has joined the ranks of my favourite authors and I'll definitely be buying the spin-off, Chasing Hope.

**SPOILER ALERT**

I loooved Natalie, disliked Samantha and rooted for Alik from day one. I was a bit disappointed when Natalie left her wonderful job- and Alik- and moved away. She'd spent her whole life always putting herself last. And now she finally had a chance to do something amazing just for her, but she still let it go. (Although I am in my early 20s and unmarried with no kids, so chances are my opinion of this will change in time.)

Firstly I would like to thank the author and TBC for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The story follows Natalie and Samantha. They are both regular women who are experiencing life changing events parallel to each other. The book follows the women and how they deal with the events that are thrown at them. It's follows them as they try to hold their families together, but also examines what might happen if their family dynamics alter as a result of these changes in their lives.
I really enjoyed this book. It examines some really serious issues, things that could happen to anyone, but it isn't all doom and gloom. There are some really heartwarming moments in the book and the combination of everything makes it a wonderfully readable book. I totally recommend people give this book a try!

A good debut, 3.5 stars. Definitely a Desperate Housewives kind of read. It was a light, easy read and a change from my usual. I really liked the two main characters, they were well-written and developed. At times I rolled my eyes at the romance - it seemed a bit too intense. For romance book-lovers, I'd recommend Kingston Court.

Engaging read

Kingston Court is a good story well written. It reminds us that what we believe is not always what is true, and that the most popular, socially acceptable course isn’t necessarily the best one to follow. This book is not a genre I typically read. That said, I gulped it down in just a few days.
