This is the first book I’ve read by D. L. Jackson. A search for buried treasure, romance, and time traveling portals; it doesn’t get much better than that! This story was an enjoyable read. I loved Elizabeth! She is a strong heroine and her reaction to modern day was very believable. Often times the time travel element in a story isn’t well explained. That wasn’t the case in this one.

The romance between Elizabeth and the time traveling FBI Agent William Davidson was hot. Elizabeth is not open to wearing short shorts or openly talking about relations, but William warms her up and helps her fit in with the present. As they fall in love will she still want to return to 1905?

I would have liked to learn more about villain. He didn’t get much time in the story. Also, the ending where all the loose ends came together seemed to happen quickly. Elizabeth’s father just appears and after some explanations everything is okay.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
