This was a 25 author collaboration for charity. Some of my favorite authors, plus a few new ones all in one story. 25 authors!? You would expect it to be choppy and disjointed because all authors have their own style of writing right. Well, prepare to be stunned. This book was a great story and flowed seamlessly from chapter to chapter. They really need to do this again I enjoyed it that much!. The story has everything, werewolves, fae, royalty, magic, betrayal, evil minions, family issues, hot mc's, love & devotion, and great sex, all the things that makes a shifter book worth reading.Thank you, Siren authors this was a great surprise, please please do it again.

This book was a gift from the author and Paranormal Romance & Authors That Rock for an honest review.

Quad McDaniel’s life takes a drastic turn when he is bitten and starts turning into a furry creature every month. As he has no idea what has truly happened to him, he tries to hide his inner wolf. This no longer becomes possible one night when his car breaks down in the small town of Trinity Valley. After he walks into the local roadhouse tavern owned by Gypsy Govanivinch, his whole life is significantly changed once again. Read along as we watch Quad and Gypsy’s feelings grow from annoyance to true mates.

While this book is written by 25 different authors, it is still very cohesive. If their names weren’t written at the beginning of each chapter, you would never know. Are you ready for a rollercoaster ride? Don’t think you know what’s going on because just when you think you do, you don’t. To be honest, I was getting kind of dizzy during the last few chapters with all the twists and turns. Believe me when I say there is absolutely no shortage of action whether it is fighting or loving.

If you like HEA books, M/M romance and the paranormal, you’ll like this one. I’d rate this book at 4.5, losing half for making me dizzy, but I’ll round up and give it a 5.

I liked this book. The fact that all these authors came together and wrote a single chapter each was cool and then made it for a charity was even better. The story was solid and the characters were developed. If you like m/m books and shifter books give this one a try it is for charity after all!

What an incredible, think-outside-the-box project this was. A full length novel with each chapter written by a different author? Kudos to everyone involved because they made it work.

Quad is a wolf shifter, changed recently but abandoned by the wolf who bit him and left to figure out what it means to be a shifter at all, let alone one with a wolf beast inside. Quad has an expensive new car that he is quite proud of and takes it for a drive. Unfortunately, it stops working near a small town and what was just weird in his life turns into a full-on nightmare of epic proportions.

The bartender that Quad meets while looking for a phone to call for help turns out not to be human either. Although Gypsy has a bad past with shifters and hates them he tries to explain shifters to Quad to help him cope, and even rents a room to Quad while he waits for a part for his car to be ordered. Although they don’t even like each other, that doesn’t prevent them from heating up the sheets and starting something that they may be powerless to stop.

The timeline for the story is short but the plot flow is smooth, which is astonishing for a book with so many cooks in the kitchen. All of these authors write sizzling sex in their own books so it’s no surprise that aspect of the book would set wallpaper on fire. Even better, and important to me for any book I read, the characters were fun to read about and easy to root for an HEA outcome for them.

There is plenty of angst from some evil doers as Gypsy, Quad, and others try to solve the mystery of what is happening, why, and by whom.
I enjoyed this book and commend the authors, editors, cover artist, and publisher for taking on this unique project and committing themselves to such a worthy cause.

Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts

his was a wacky, crazy, and pretty damn good read. I have never read a book where each chapter is by a different author. But I must say they did a great job.

Quad is changed into a wolf shifter and abandoned by his maker. Now months later Quad is driving in his new car when it decides to die outside a little town called Trinity Valley. From there things just get weirder and weirder.

Gypsy is not human himself and is able to explain to Quad a little about shifters. But Gypsy has been hurt by shifters before and has a pretty big issue with them. But that doesn’t stop these two from mixing it up both in and out of bed. The chemistry is there from the start even when they don’t seem to like each other much.

For a book written by twenty-five different authors, there was a good flow in the story. It was fast paced and gave the needed information without dragging down the story with too much. The sex was steamy and very hot. The main characters were easy to like and personable.

A lot happens in a very short amount of time. There was tons of twist and turns going on throughout as Quad and Gypsy try to figure out what the hell is going on. There was some wicked planning going on by the bad guys.

This was a well written story by some of my favorite authors. It was entertaining, humorous, sexy, and wicked fun to read.

Well.... this is certainly NOT predictable.

To tell the truth there's a lot of WTF moments and a lot of get a handle on what's happening to just have the rug pulled again. It's...confusing. I liked it but there's just a little too much back and forth changing direction to get to a strongly like for me.

one story, 25 authors, infinite possibilities...

Summary:

Quad's story resonated to me as he was thrown into a world that he didn't know exited, the paranormal world. His fear of loosing control was made worse because he had no idea what was happening to him. Quad's found his was to Trinity Valley after his brand new car broke down leading him to Gypsy's tavern and his future. Gypsy's unique and captivating character resonated with me from the very start. It was hysterical that even though he was small in statue he with a bat controlled the rowdy customers without touching anyone. Gypsy had his reasons for disliking shifters, but when he realized that Quad didn't even know he was a shifter he felt compelled to help him. Their halting friendship was just beginning as an ex-lover was determined to get his revenge on Quad. There was more at stake than Gypsy and Quad ever expected in this fast paced and incredible story!

WAY too much detail about a damn bar. Saying, "There were separate areas including a dance floor and D.J., a long bar that took up an entire wall, and a dining area on a mezzanine overlooking the dancing. On the back wall, two doors led out into a deck overlooking a crystal blue lake," is plenty of detail. Instead she took 6 big paragraphs.

How did to they decide who would write the sex scenes?

These books always say they can't catch human diseases implying there are supernatural diseases so wouldn't they still need protection?

Why didn't A. just sleep in Quad's bed since he clearly wouldn't be using it?

Did these authors have a plan or outline or something for this or did they just make it up as they went along?

This is like a soap opera. Now he has a twin. Why does he have a bizarre name like Quad and his twin brother has the completely ordinary name Sam?

This is so awful. It keeps getting worse and worse. There are plot holes after plot holes. The writer of the following chapter often acknowledges and tries to fix a plot hole but often just makes it worse.

I wanted to LOVE this book.  I really did.  The concept is amazing!  25 authors writing a chapter each to create one whole book.  Quite a few of these authors are favorites of mine, so I was really excited to read it.  Also, the idea that 100% of the proceeds from sales are going to charity, focusing on homeless GLBTQ teens, is brilliant.  So what if I didn't LOVE it, then, right?  I LIKED it, so I'm going to recommend that you check it out based on those facts alone.

Here's a quick rundown of the story.  Quad was attacked by a wolf, and now he's a shifter trying not to be agressive because he doesn't want to hurt anyone.  His new car breaks down in Trinity Valley, a town on the edge of nowhere, and he's not happy about it at all.  He makes his way to a roadhouse to use the phone, and there he meets Gypsy...a gorgeous man with the most beautiful hair Quad has ever seen.  Gypsy is the bartender/owner of the place, and he arranges to get some help for Quad, and the story takes off from there.

Gypsy and Quad don't get off to the best of starts, but the attraction is instant, and soon, they're having passionate sex.  Quad instinctively bites Gypsy, thus inadvertently making him his mate.  To say that Gypsy is unhappy about this is an understatement.  From there, the two face so many obstacles and so much danger that it's difficult to imagine that their relationship will turn into the love that every reader wants to see unfold between them.  Their chemistry is palpable, and they seemed like they wanted to make a go of their relationshp...sometimes.

I don't really want to say anymore because there is so much going on, with so much action and mystery, I couldn't possibly sum it all up in just a few paragraphs.  It's for this reason that I couldn't give "Gypsy's Wolf" a higher rating.  At times, the story becomes a little jumbled.  It's occasionally difficult to follow.  Also, with 25 different authors, you get 25 different writing styles.  Some write chapters full of hot sex.  Some write chapters full of humor (which was pretty cool, actually), and some write some great action.  However, that made me a little frustrated on occasion.  I wanted a smooth, continuous book like I would get with one single writer.  Also, I felt like a few things were rehashed a bit too much.  It seemed like they wanted to remind everyone of what's going on over and over again.  I found myself saying, "Just get on with it!".  It's not necessarily a BAD thing, but I would get involved with the story, and to have it be interrupted with the same exposition put me on edge.

I think my favorite part of this whole book was the epilogue.  It gave me the HEA that I wanted, and it did it in some delightful ways.  Everything was tied up neatly in a beautiful red bow, and that redeemed the whole thing.  All of my frustration melted away, and it left me feeling satisfied.  So, as I said at the beginning, I LIKED "Gypsy's Wolf".  It was worth the time that I spent reading it.  I'm recommending it even with the little flaws that I mentioned. I hope that we'll be seeing more books like this in the future because there is so much potential in the multiple author concept.  Enjoy. This book was reviewed by a member of the review staff at Cocktails and Books. A good story but the pacing was off as each author dealt with their own chapter, so some of the story line was quite rushed
