Redeemed Hearts: A Prophetic Love Story

Rate this book
Hannah carries a past she cannot erase. She's convinced it disqualifies her. Caleb has built a future he refuses to compromise. He's always believed his standards would protect him. God has a different plan. When their worlds collide, everything Caleb believes about obedience and everything Hannah believes about grace is put to the test. Because redemption is easy to celebrate until it becomes personal. Grace is easy to receive until it asks you to give it. Surrender feels safe until it costs you control. As truth surfaces, they are forced to confront what they really believe about God, about love, and what it means to be made new. Redeemed Hearts is a prophetic love story about grace that restores, surrender that transforms, and a God who does not see as man does. A story of two hearts learning that redemption doesn't erase the past—it transforms the future. What people called ruin, He redeems.

I had to take my time reading this book because I wanted to soak in every word, every chapter, and every moment.

From the prologue alone, I was already hooked. It had been such a long time since I read a Christian romance that explored this kind of narrative, and I found it incredibly refreshing. I think it’s a beautiful portrayal of what people with painful and broken pasts experience when they encounter redemption and God’s transforming love.

I genuinely loved everything about this book, from the prologue to the very last page. Every chapter drew me in, and every line held my attention.

One thing I especially loved was the theme of vulnerability. It was beautifully portrayed in the way Caleb and Hannah spoke honestly to God about what they were going through and how they truly felt. It reminded me that prayer isn’t about pretending to have it all together but about bringing every part of ourselves before God.

I highlighted so many quotes while reading, but a few stood out to me. One was something Hannah said on page 112: “Maybe this is what transformation looks like. Not a life where the past never surfaced, but one where it surfaces and no longer destroys you.” That was incredibly profound and is a quote I’ll carry with me for a long time.

Another moment that stayed with me was when God told Caleb that regardless of whether he accepted her or not, she was still His. That was such a powerful reminder of God’s unconditional love and identity. I also loved how obedience was portrayed through Caleb. It showed that we don’t obey God because we’re expecting a reward. We obey because we love Him and trust that He knows what is best for us.

The emphasis on purpose was another highlight for me, especially when Caleb reassured Hannah that she was also part of his purpose. There were so many beautiful moments, lessons, and truths woven throughout this story.

I also appreciated the gentle correction the book offered to the Church. We need more stories like this that teach Christians to genuinely love people regardless of their past. Once someone has encountered redemption, that is what should matter. I loved the reconciliation with Hannah’s family as well. It was heartfelt, healing, and a beautiful way to round off her journey.

It was such a beautiful read from beginning to end.

I enjoyed every bit of this book. It was tender, honest, deeply rooted in faith, and beautifully written. Thank you for telling a story that reminds us that redemption is real, grace is available, and no past is beyond the reach of God’s love.

My rating: 4.5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

This has to be my favourite book of the prophetic love series so far. I guess I've never really considered the real cost of choosing to abandon a scandalous past life of sin to follow Jesus, having been born and bred in the church setting. It can be so easy to judge a person who is just coming out of darkness into light, but thank God Jesus never casts away the lost sheep because I wonder what would have been the fate of dear Hannah if not for God's mercy.

The writing style in this novel is absolutely beautiful and easy to follow, and I highlighted so many quotes that spoke to my heart. The spiritual lessons and values embedded in this story are pure gems.
Redeemed Hearts taught me that I should not judge others for their pasts, and that obedience to God doesn't necessarily mean I get exactly what I pictured or expected.

This reminds me of one of my favourite scenes where Caleb, the MMC, literally flips and wrestles with God like Jacob did, because what he ordered from God versus what he got were complete opposites.
I really loved this scene so much because I understood Caleb's react. It showcased the rawness and humanness of his emotions, proving he wasn't just a pious guy who always had everything perfectly straight in his walk with God.

There were scenes that made me laugh and giggle (I love love), scenes that made me want to slap some of the characters to their senses (I'm looking at all those judgemental and hypocritical church folk with a bombastic side eye), scenes that had me praying in my heart, and moments that made me repent for how I've treated certain people in the past.

I highly recommend this book for every Christian (brand new or ancient). It beautifully illustrates that God is the one who is able to redeem and restore absolutely anybody.

Out of the entire series, this is probably my second favorite book. I’m really glad I was given the opportunity as a beta reader to experience this story. I love Hannah and her growth as she walks away from the comforts that she’s so used to and steps into the unknown as she establishes her faith and relationship with God. I love the honesty and authenticity that she displays and unlearning the shame and guilt that she feels because of her past. Although I didn’t initially love Caleb, I was able to emphasize with him and how he wrestled with God in recognizing that obedience doesn’t guarantee the reward you think God should give you. I love that he was able to come to terms with his pride in the midst of all this. Now the church people?! That’s a different conversation, they were out here doing the most and passing around explicit content while trying to shame Hannah. I’m glad in the end, when God labels you redeemed no one else has the right or ability to say otherwise. Can’t wait for this book to officially launch 🩷

First of all, I want to start by explaining what it means to be redeemed because I think that gives you a bit of an understanding of what this book is about. To be redeemed is to be saved from sin, to be forgiven and restored to a place of wholeness, and this book is a beautiful story about salvation, grace, and belief.

The story follows Hannah and Caleb, and I’m not going to tell you who needed redeeming in this book because I need you to read it for yourself🤭. But what I will say is that this book speaks to you as you’re reading it. It gives you answers to questions you didn’t even know you had. There were so many moments where I was reading and things just started clicking for me.

I loved that every chapter began with a Bible verse, and I loved seeing the characters interact with God, speak to God, and experience God speaking to them. I also loved how human every character felt. They weren’t perfect, and their relationship with God wasn’t portrayed as perfect either. Caleb, especially, felt so human in the way he interacted with God. There’s a particular part of his interaction with God that I loved, but I’m not going to tell you because I need you people to read this book🤭.

There were so many quotes that I highlighted in this book because they really resonated with me, and I honestly believe they will resonate with so many other readers too. There were also certain conversations between Caleb and God where God was speaking to Caleb, and the words felt like they were meant for me too.

I also loved Hannah’s willingness to change. I loved seeing her growth and how vulnerable she was before God. And honestly, I believe transformation begins with vulnerability. If you can’t be vulnerable before your Father in Heaven, who else can you be vulnerable before? Hannah was willing to change, willing to learn, and willing to become a better person, and I was genuinely rooting for her.

And as for the church people, honestly, I have no words😭😭😭

Dear believers, just a reminder: “Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!”

This book is wonderfully written. It’s beautiful, easy to read, and I promise that once you start reading it, you won’t want to put it down.

Every book I’ve read from this author has spoken to me in a different way, and Redeemed Hearts was no different. I finished this book feeling blessed and with a deeper understanding of who I am in Christ. And honestly, that is what this book did for me.

You should read this book!

There are books you enjoy, and then there are books that leave you sitting quietly after the last page because you’re trying to process everything you just read.

Redeemed Hearts by Karen Oke is one of those books.

From the title, I already knew redemption would be at the heart of the story, but I wasn’t prepared for everything this book would make me feel. It took me on such an emotional ride.

Hannah’s journey broke my heart. What I loved most was that her healing wasn’t instant. We see the struggle. We see the tears, the fear, the shame, and the moments where her past tries to pull her back. Yet she keeps choosing to return to God, even when everything in her wants to run. That felt so honest and so real.

I was honestly so emotional reading the way people in the church treated Hannah. Instead of finding a place of healing, she was met with judgment and whispers. It hurt because it reflects something that still happens today. We sometimes forget that the Church is meant to be a place where broken people encounter grace, not condemnation. Watching God defend Hannah was one of my favourite parts of the story. Do not call unclean what God has called Clean.

Then there’s Caleb.

I understood where he was coming from, but that didn’t stop me from feeling frustrated with how he treated Hannah after learning about her past. What I appreciated, though, was that his journey wasn’t rushed either. He had to wrestle with his own pride, assumptions, and expectations before fully surrendering to God’s will. Seeing that process made him feel human.

And Layla? 🥹

Everyone deserves a friend like Layla. She wasn’t the loudest person in the room, but she stayed. She prayed. She loved Hannah consistently, even when Hannah struggled to believe in herself.

One thing this book reminded me of is how easy it is for us to run when life doesn’t go the way we planned. But sometimes God does His deepest work in the seasons we’d rather escape.

Redeemed Hearts is one of those books that’s difficult to put into words because it leaves you with so much to think about. It’s a beautiful reminder of grace, redemption, healing, and the kind of love that reflects Christ.

Redeemed hearts, the fourth book in the Prophetic love series, is one that'll entertain you and at the same time challenge, and give you moments of reflections.

This book follows Hannah and Caleb's story, and explore explores redemption, obedience, grace, and God's unfailing love. I loved how it reminded me that no one is beyond God's redemption. No matter how broken or messy someone's past may be, His grace is always available to those who genuinely return to Him.That message really stayed with me.

Hannah was such an admirable character. Her courage to leave her old life behind and boldly embrace a new life in Christ was inspiring. It couldn't have been an easy decision, but her willingness to take that bold step and stand steadfast despite discrimination, judgement and lots from people step spoke volumes about genuine transformation.

Another lesson that resonated with me was the theme of obedience through Caleb's journey. It reminded me that obeying God isn't always comfortable or easy, but true obedience often looks like surrender choosing to trust His plans even when they don't make sense to us.

Karen Oke's writing made me pause and reflect on my own walk with God. I found myself thinking about grace, forgiveness, and what it truly means to trust God's will.

As always, Karen Oke's books always delivers when it comes to beautiful quotes. I found myself highlighting so many beautiful lines that spoke to my heart.
This book was such a wholesome read!

If you enjoy Christian fiction that goes beyond romance and leaves you with meaningful lessons to reflect on, Redeemed hearts is one i highly recommend!
I'm rating it a solid 4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

It's one thing to hope and pray for a person going down a wrong path to repent and turn to God. It's another when their hearts are not hardened and allow themselves to be redeemed by Christ.

One thing the protagonist of this book displayed was the courage it takes for a sinner to take their hands away from a life of sin and put their trust in God's mercy.

Hannah decides to leave the life that has never brought her peace behind. A life that benefited with fame and wealth, but brought loss to her soul. She decides to restart her life in Grace Harbour, a small town, a place where she believes can help her heal, while going on a journey with God.

Hannah deals with guilt, shame, temptation, and a growth that takes more than a day or week to achieve. She has to learn to lean on God's mercy, to put her faith in the restorative blood of Jesus.

Along the line, she meets Caleb, but they're from different worlds. God then brings them together and teaches then what it means to be surrendered.

One thing I admired about this book was the message that no one is irredeemable, not when they come to Jesus. A life lived in sin has more than one chance to be transformed.

Another thing is that Caleb's character really showed me what it truly means to be surrendered to God in obedience, not for what He can give, but for who He is.

This was truly a redemption story, one that almost looks like a Hosea and Gomer retelling, but it's not exactly it😂

Another book in the Prophetic Love series hits again and I'm happy this series is progressing with stories that glorify Jesus.

For real, I'll say this is my favourite from the series so far. It's a beautiful story that reminded me of Hosea and Gomer story in the Bible.
‎
‎One major lesson in this story was that while God despises sin and idolatry, His enduring grace ultimately triumphs over betrayal, promising to restore, redeem and love those who are lost.
‎
‎Hannah past was messy and she later found God while Caleb was so in aligned with God or so he thought. He had to figure out how to handle obedience, pride and his own personal thoughts. One major thing I loved about his journey was the struggles. How the author represented it felt so human because... I mean, if I were in his shoes, I might have done the same.
‎
‎I'll always say it and I'll continue to say it that there's a lot of hypocrisy in the church. The Bible said;
· ‎"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest"
‎And same Bible also said:
· "Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God's."
‎But the church is always where we find judgement. I'm so glad the book reveals that.
‎
‎My prayer is that may God surround us with friends like Nathan and Layla. Amen
‎
‎I'm recommending this book to everyone, the writing style is so easy to follow that you won't even know when you're done with it.

Redeemed Hearts is more than a romance it's a beautiful story about redemption, obedience, healing, and the transforming power of God's grace.

Hannah's journey is one of my favorite parts of the book. Watching her confront the weight of her past while learning to embrace God's grace was both emotional and inspiring.
Also Caleb's journey, his struggle with obedience and surrender felt real and reminded me that following God's will doesn't mean we'll never wrestle with our own expectations.

This book does well is challenge the judgment and hypocrisy that can sometimes exist within the church. It reminds us that the church should be a place where people encounter grace, healing, and restoration not condemnation.

My favorite line from the book is

"Maybe this is what transformation looks like not a life where the past never surfaces, but the part where it surfaces and no longer destroys you”.

That quote stayed with me because it perfectly captures the heart of this story. True transformation isn't about pretending the past never happened; it's about reaching a place where it no longer has the power to define or destroy you.

I love Karen's writing is simple, engaging, and filled with meaningful lessons that point readers back to God's heart. If you enjoy Christian fiction with themes of redemption, second chances, and faith, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a read.

Redeemed Hearts is my second read of author Karen Oke’s prophetic love story series. I had such a unique experience with this book. It was a powerful read, similar to Restored Hearts, and I felt the character's emotions as I read. Hannah's story, the female main character, encouraged me immensely regarding some of my unresolved shame and condemnation. Another aspect of the story I enjoyed was the male main character Caleb’s obedience to God. His struggle to walk in the call God had for him was relatable. These, among other reasons, are why I believe this Christian romance could benefit anyone who needs to truly embrace redemption, obedience, and the joys of freedom in Christ. As each chapter concluded, I was eager to keep reading.

I appreciate how Karen weaves the Word of God into her writing. She truly has an anointed and prophetic delivery. Redeemed Hearts was easy to read and digest. Although the topics of redemption and obedience can be heavy, I believe Karen’s writing style eases a reader's discomfort with condemnation, walking in God’s will, and the belief that, regardless of what you have done, you can be redeemed.

My favorite quote from the book says, “And though Hannah did not know it yet, God was already drawing near to the places shame had convinced her were beyond redemption.”

I recommend this book to readers who enjoy Christian fiction with clean God-centered romance, redemption arcs that point to God’s agape love, and biblically rooted writing that will push you beyond entertainment and help you grow in your faith walk. Also, if you’re an annotator or highlighter, get ready: this novel has so many notable moments!

I received an ARC from the author. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

‎This has got to be my favourite book in the Prophetic Love series (and that's saying something because I genuinely thought nothing could top Waiting Hearts for me).
‎I absolutely loved reading the MMC's internal struggle with accepting the FMC's past. It felt so authentic and refreshingly human. Instead of brushing his fears and doubts aside,I loved that we got to sit with them. It made his eventual decision all the more meaningful.
‎
‎Watching the FMC grow in her faith, embrace God's grace, and walk confidently in her new life was equally beautiful. This book actually made me shed a few tears (and I haven't done that over a book in a really long time). I think it was because of how beautifully God's love was portrayed, especially for those who feel they're too far gone to receive it. Seeing her slowly believe that truth for herself was incredibly moving.
‎This was a heartfelt and hope-filled read that I'll definitely be recommending.

Hannah and Caleb’s story was one truly ordinated by God. Their story is one of forgiveness, healing, faith, redemption and drawing closer to God.

This book strongly shows how our past mistakes shouldn’t shape or define us. No matter what you’ve done in the past or the shame you’ve carried, this book constantly reminded me that there is true and eternal peace in the presence of God.

I loved everything about this book and the detailed message it sent. Reading through Hannah’s journey of faith and transformation was very touching and inspiring. Always remember that you’re worthy of pure and genuine love.

This was such a tender read for me. It gave me a sense of comfort and hope. The romance between Hannah and Caleb was pure and beautiful. I loved how they both always put God first in whatever they do. It was so satisfying.

Thanks to Karen Oke for this ARC. I truly enjoyed this one😍 A solid 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nothing prepared for how emotional this book was going to be for me.
Redeemed Hearts is a representation of how unconditional God's love for us is, regardless of our past.
It reminded me of the story of the Prodigal son in the bible.

I really enjoyed my time with this book. It touched on the topic of GRACE, especially in the place where its meant to be freely given, The House of God. It also touched on forgiveness, no matter the gravity of a person's sins, God is merciful always.

It also confirmed that no matter how pure and graceful we think we are, there's always something or something somewhere to test it.

This author wrote something everyone should read. Especially those that feel they don't deserve second chances because you do, we all do.

I highly recommend this one. A very beautifully written story.

Thank you Karen Oke for the ARC.

Redeemed Hearts is a story of redemption, second chances and the transforming power of God's grace. Who says your past has to determine your future?

Hannah carries the weight of her past but through God, she recognizes her mistakes and begins the difficult journey of making amends. As she soon discovers, moving forward isn't always easy. Even when you've changed, people can still hold your past against you, almost like the saying, "the internet never forgets”.

One thing I really appreciated was the reminder that God accepts us no matter how broken, filthy, or far gone we think we are. His grace is always available to those willing to come to Him.

The book is short, straightforward and doesn't waste time. It stays focused on its central message making it an easy and meaningful read.

Redeemed Hearts...

Love this cover.
An inspiring and encouraging story of love. It speaks about being redeemed by God, our heavenly father. Hannah has done some things in the past that she regrets, she moved to a new neighbourhood and give her life over to God...but the members of the new church isnt letting her past stay behind when they realise who Hannah is, from stares to whispers to not being including in meetings, Hannah is just pushing through and seeking God's face...
Caleb is a single christian man on a journey for Christ. Hes doing well both in church and in his faith..One day, God shows Caleb who his wife will be and he has a hard time accepting who God chooses for him but he refuses to disobey God.
Acceptance, Redemption, Love and Faith...very faith based told story that i truly enjoyed

Nothing prepared me for how in depth this story would go and be told. Caleb and Hannah's story is a proof that no body is a write off in God's calender and that He alone knows what's best for every person.

Karen did justice to the characters, I really liked how realistic the actions and dialogues, it was really thought provoking.

Beyond the romance, Redeemed Hearts gives a whole new perspective to love, learning trust and obey God and what it means to totally surrender to God's divine leading.

I would absolutely recommend this, it's a 4.5 /5 for me.
Thank you Karen for the copy of the ARC.

“Redeemed Hearts” is a christian romance that focuses more on redemption and the redemption process, it explores so many questions and answers about the act of forgiveness, identity, purity and if truly believers believe in the grace they preach.

“Redeemed Hearts” is passing a beautiful message, one that redemption is not particularly forgetting about the past but having a strong believe that you’re covered by the grace of God and should learn to live past the “past”.

If you enjoy prophetic fiction, faith based romance, then you should read this.

Thank you Karen Oke for the ARC.

Redemption doesn't mean that the past will not surface again, but that it will surface and you would not fall but stand strong in the Lord.
Redeemed hearts reminded me about God undying love for me and how he shows his love despite my pasts.
Caleb and Hannah's story is my best story in the prophetic love series ,I needed it at this point where I am.
Thank you Karen oke for such a wonderful book.
I love Caleb vulnerability and the way he talks to God for I believe praying is communication between you and God.

This book reminded me that God's grace is far bigger than the boxes we put people in.

Hannah carries a messy past and years of shame, while Caleb is forced to wrestle with what grace, mercy, and obedience truly look like when they become personal. One quote that stayed with me was, "Mercy from a distance is easy. Mercy with a name and a face is not."

I loved how the author handled redemption and restoration without making the journey feel easy or unrealistic. Hannah's growth was beautiful to watch, and Caleb's struggle felt honest and human.

More than a love story, this is a story about grace, healing, and a God who specializes in restoring what seems beyond repair.

Joel 2:25 came to mind throughout the book: "I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten."

Redeemed Hearts: A Prophetic Love Story reminded me that God's grace is often bigger than our expectations.

Caleb and Hannah's journey challenged me to look beyond someone's past and trust the transforming power of redemption. More than a love story, this is a story about grace, obedience, healing, and believing that no one is beyond what God can redeem.

I hope their story encourages you to trust God's heart, even when His plans look different from your own.
