Wild ride!

First off I just love the world that is being built here. It’s truly immersive from the start you feel as if you are part of it, maybe a fly on the wall as all the events transpire. I loved our bored heiress who breaks the rules and gets far more than she bargained for. Then the broody shadow king swoon lol! Loved the pace of the romance and the spice level is just right. It’s really just a fantastic story!

Marked By the Shadow King is an amazing book. From the first page I was immediately pulled into the story with all sorts of questions and curiosity.

From the moment we meet Morgana she is smart, tough, intelligent, and an extreme adrenaline junkie 🤣 When Azreal walks into the story, or should I say shadows into the story, we get the good-looking, grumpy, brooding, and serious Shadow King (seriously hot to Morgana), and he does not disappoint.

This story started out as a slow burn with an amazing payoff into burn the world for you. By the end, I loved Morgana and Azreal so much! I love their intensity, the jokes, the yearning, the spice (🔥); it is all top tier, and I wasn't disappointed in a single page of the entire book.

I loved the plot; it was constantly moving you forward but not missing any depth. It was twisty and surprising at so many turns. I love when a book comes together with all these strong elements that end up making me so glad I visited the world and the characters in it.

I absolutely loved this book, and if you like strong FMCs with broody shadow kings and a whole lot of tension, this one's for you!

On the outside, you have it all: money, connections, and wealthy friends. But deep down, you are utterly bored. Craving a thrill, you secretly steal for elite clients—until one mission goes terribly wrong, shattering your life and everything you believed in.

Morgana is a beautiful, stubborn, and witty thief who accidentally breaks the magical grid, releasing an ancient evil into her world. Enter Azrael, the commanding Shadow King. He kidnaps her to his realm and forces her to fix what she broke. Though Morgana initially resists and opposes him, she soon finds herself falling for her captor. And honestly, who wouldn’t? For 200 years, Azrael has secretly protected both of their worlds from darkness, carrying the heavy burden entirely alone.

I absolutely loved this book! It truly has it all: brilliant humor, entertaining banter, intense chemistry, unexpected twists, and non-stop action. Watching Morgana’s unwavering love clash with Azrael’s fear of vulnerability—while he secretly hopes he deserves happiness—kept me completely hooked. It is such a beautiful, captivating story that I simply couldn’t put it down from start to finish!

If you love stubborn heroines, protective shadow kings, and high-stakes fantasy, you need to read this!.

What happens when a bored heiress/thief breaks a mirror and opens a rift between worlds?

That’s exactly what we find out in this story. When Morgana is sent to steal a mirror and accidently drops it, it breaks into two pieces. Once that happens, all kinds of monsters start dropping down and the Shadow King shows up, along with some of his muscle and take out the monsters. However, since Morgana opened the rift, the King demands she fix it and binds her to him for a period of five years. This is their story, of how they fought, of how they learned to work together and how they fell in love. Everything about this story is excellent, from the world building to the characters and how they interact. I truly enjoyed reading this and can’t wait for the next release from Lexi Spence!

Shadow daddy energy delivered

Marked By the Shadow King was exactly the kind of magical chaos I was hoping for. A shattered mirror, dangerous shadows, a bargain that was never going to end well, and a man who is basically one giant red flag with magic. Say less.

Azrael brought all the mysterious, powerful, shadowy energy, and I was fully invested in the push and pull between him and the main character. The magical bond, the world building, and all the enemies-to-lovers tension had me happily turning pages.

If you're looking for shadow magic, high stakes, intense chemistry, and a fantasy romance that fully leans into the drama, this one is absolutely worth checking out.

Honestly, I wish it was a little bit longer, but I did really enjoy their story. An heiress bored with her life, choosing to become a hired theif. Rulers across dimensions trying to keep the worlds secure and functioning. And a little slip up that causes rifts to tear across the skies, allowing all sorts of beasts to wreak havoc.

I really loved and devoured this book. It hooks you in from page one and it’s unputdownable. You fall hard for the main two characters. And there are many twists and turns along the journey. Love and I mean love how the world building progresses.
