Charles Degelman is a writer and editor living in Los Angeles. Gates of Eden - a 60s tale of resistance, rebellion, and love - was recently published by Harvard Square Editions. Gates won a Silver Medal from the 2012 Independent Publishers Book Awards.
His second novel, A Bowl Full of Nails was published by Harvard Square Editions, Feb 1, 2015. Nails was finalist in Barbara Kingsolver's Bellwether competition and recently garnered a Bronze Medal from the 2015 Independent Publishers Book Awards.
His most recent novel, Rocked in Time — Confessions of a Radical Theater Artist, completes Degelman's Resistance Trilogy. He sets all three volumes of this trilogy in the resistance movements of the 1960s and '70s. Each novel explores a different world of rebellion, and each novel celebrates those who dare to buck the system.
Impressions of two trips to Cuba have been published in Cuba by Travelers Tales.
A longtime theater artist, Degelman co-founded the Indecent Exposure Theater Company, a Los Angeles - based theater company dedicated to creating original work for the stage.
He teaches writing and media studies at California State University, Los Angeles.
