Ms. Earl delivers another pulse-quickening entry in the realm of MC Romance with Incubus and Stella's Story, a novel that weaves raw emotion, loyalty, and unexpected tenderness into a gritty plot. Known for her evocative storytelling and complex characters, the author once again proves why she is a standout voice in a genre often flooded with clichés. This review highlights the story’s emotional heft, character depth, and the balance of darkness and light that make the novel resonate long after the final page.

One of the greatest strengths of this book is its vivid, multifaceted characters. Incubus, apparently a figure well-established in the author’s universe, surprises readers by revealing a less-seen, softer side through his interactions with his daughter Isabella. The way Isabella brings light into otherwise dark moments creates an emotional anchor throughout the story; she is undeniably a “little heart melter,” whose presence humanizes even the toughest characters. The loyalty and support among the cast enrich the story, providing moments of levity as well as fierce protection that feel authentic and earned. Stella, in particular, shines as a beacon of strength and determination. Her unwavering hope to reunite with loved ones adds a timeless quality of faith and endurance, grounding the plot's more intense, sometimes heavier themes.

The plot itself is an emotional rollercoaster, expertly crafted to evoke a wide range of feelings. It doesn’t shy away from darker themes that might be triggering for some readers, but it handles them with the sensitivity and grit fans might expect from Ms. Earl’s previous works. The plot unfolds with unexpected twists that surprise without feeling contrived, maintaining momentum and deepening intrigue. These twists—notably the lingering questions surrounding characters like Gino—set up eager anticipation for what may come next in the series, hinting at unfinished business that will keep readers hooked.

What truly elevates the novel is the author’s skillful balance of tone. While the storyline tackles serious and sometimes heartbreaking issues, moments of humor and warmth diffuse the tension beautifully. This layered approach ensures the story never feels relentlessly bleak; instead, it pulses with a realistic portrayal of life’s complexities—where laughter and sorrow exist side by side. This balance not only enhances character relatability but also gives the reader emotional reprieve, making the heavier moments hit even harder.

Incubus and Stella's Story is a compelling, emotionally immersive read that will appeal especially to fans of intense, character-driven MC Romance. It is best suited for those who can embrace darker themes alongside strong emotional payoff. Ms. Earl continues to build on her reputation for creating memorable characters that linger in the mind and heart long after the story closes. For readers who appreciate stories that make you both laugh and cry, while delivering surprises that defy expectations, this book is a rewarding journey.

I find myself wondering about the future of Incubus, Stella, and Isabella, and especially about that enigmatic Gino. Will the unresolved tensions find resolution, or will new conflicts arise? Such questions keep the mind turning, a testament to the author’s talent for crafting a plot that stays alive beyond the page.

PROPERTY OF INCUBUS is the second instalment in DM Earl’s contemporary, adult KINGS OF ANARCHY MC: INDIANA dark, MC romance series, a part of the multi-authored Kings of Anarchy MC. This is Cullen aka Incubus, and his ol’ lady Stella’ s story line. PROPERTY OF INCUBUS should not be read as stand alone as Incubus begins in book one PROPERTY OF COBALT.

NOTE: For followers of DM Earl, there is a cross over with the author’s Devil’s Handmaidens MC and Grimm Wolves MC series.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers. If you have not read PROPERTY OF COBALT, there may be spoilers in my review

Told from dual first person perspectives (Stella and Incubus) PROPERTY OF INCUBUS focuses on the search for our story line heroine. Incubus’ ol’ lady Stella is missing, and a prisoner of the mob. Weeks will pass with only brutal images and heart break for our story line hero who is struggling with the possibility of never seeing his wife again but with the help of the Devil’s Handmaidens MC and the Grimm Wolves MC, a hunt for Stella brings more disbelief and betrayal for our story line hero.

The world building follows Incubus’ spiral as he struggles with the reality of what is happening. Each chance at a rescue is met with his wife’s disappearance, and the betrayal continues to send Incubus deeper into the dark. Stella battles with the demons that refuse to let go, demons that are determined to break our story line couple.

The relationship between Incubus and Stella has been previously established. Our couple spend the majority of the story line separated-Stella as a prisoner, Incubus as a man rapidly breaking without the woman he loves. There are no $ex scenes between our story line couple.

There is another large ensemble cast of determined and desperate secondary and supporting characters including many of whom we met in the previous instalment: the KOAMC: Indiana, Devil’s Handmaidens MC, Grimm Wolves MC, the mob; Incubus’ sister Maeve, and Stella and Incubus’ daughter Isabella. The requisite evil has many faces.

PROPERTY OF INCUBUS is a twisted story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, madness and retaliation, family and friendships, relationships and love. The character driven premise is dark, gritty and dramatic; the characters are struggling to survive and move forward; the romance is limited as our couple need time to heal.

Well D.M. brought everything to the table with this book. Grabbing you from the very first chapter and holding you captive, along side Stella with each after that.

When the local Mob boss kidnaps your wife that your brothers don't know about, it's time to share all your secrets. As Incubus' life seems to be imploding, his brothers willing stand by his side and step up for him in any way they can. When he brings his daughter Isabella home so he knows she is safe while they look for Stella, my heart grew. Watching this big bad enforcer brought to his knees but the little firecracker was heartwarming.

Stella has had her share of difficult things in the past. Working for the government she is well trained in all things. Strong and resilient, smart and resourceful, quick thinking and so much more than people expected her to be. The things she endured while captive would make most women break but she never let that though penetrate. She held her love for Incubus and Isabella be her driver. Never once did she waiver on the thoughts he was coming for her. Doing everything she could in secret to keep her strength up, and her wits about her all while being drugged secretly.

There were many unexpected twists along the way that were big shockers. But the reunion and the healing once they got Stella home was hard and beautiful at the same time. I do wish we had gotten a chance to see a little bit more of the Stella and Incubus together. Their love deserves the attention but maybe we will continue to see it as the series unveils.

Very much looking forward to figuring out what comes next after Mauve's visit.

A Wild, Dark, and Thrilling MC Ride You Can't Put Down!

WOW, was this ever a wild ride! Ms. Earl never fails to deliver, but she really outdid herself with Incubus’s story. It’s packed with heat, suspense, secrets, danger, kidnapping, and so much more—I could go on and on about everything I loved in this book. The author rightly warns that the storyline is dark with potential triggers, so do heed those warnings. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart, but I found it to be an outstanding, unputdownable read!

While the synopsis gives you a great overview of the main plot, what this couple endures is intense. Incubus isn’t just dealing with secrets he’s kept from his best friend and MC President; he also has to navigate the nightmare of his wife, Stella, being kidnapped while protecting a secret daughter no one knew existed until she went missing. That precious little girl keeps everyone around her on their toes, and Stella herself is a fierce, strong, independent woman who is truly a force to be reckoned with. Put Stella and Incubus together, and look out!

I can’t recommend this one enough. Grab it up ASAP if you dare!

This book grabbed me from the get go!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
It was straight into darkness, pain and angst and, one started k couldn't stop reading? Food, who needs it, sleep? Overrated. I had to get to the conclusion of this story.
Stella has been kidnapped by mob boss Gino, so it's no pretty road ahead for her. Incubus and his MC brothers are doing everything they can to find her and bring her back. But what a dark journey she has to endure, this book is not not for the feint hearted so check the trigger warnings.. But if you love your romance on the dark side you'll love this book.
I'm excited to read not in this series.

After the fact

Oh my goodness this book is above and beyond what I was thinking it would be. Incubus is nothing like I've ever seen. They way that he changes to the notorious enforcer and back to the man is awesome.
Stella is a cut above the woman that I expected as well. To go through everything that she went through and still be strong in ways that most couldn't be is something else.
This couple has been through so much that its enduring to see them still together. When the mob thinks that using Stella to get their way it just makes Incubus more unstable.
I'm loving this chapter of the KOAMC, I can't wait to read the book from them.

Just when Incubus thinks things can’t get worse, Stella is taken by Gino, who demands that he abandon the Kings and join him. Then, on her way to freedom, she’s kidnapped again by a rogue MC, sending the danger and the stakes, soaring.
I loved seeing a softer side of the usually terrifying Incubus, especially in his interactions with his daughter, Bella

Packed with action, suspense and twists, this story kept me hooked right to the end.
Now I’m desperate to see what happens with Maeve and uncover who’s behind that little cliffhanger DM Earl left us with.

Property of Incubus is book 2 in the Kings of Anarchy MC: Indiana Chapter written by the amazing author D.M. Earl.
This is Cullen 'Incubus" MacDonald and Stella second chance dark romance story. He's the Enforcer for the club and a ruthless killer. She's in danger and fighting for her life. This story had the perfect mix of mob action and dark romance. This book was something else. I couldn't put it down. And with tropes like Forbidden Romance, Loyalty vs Love, Secrets/Hidden truths, Force proximity and more, how can you go wrong? Highly entertaining!

This story definitely had a dark side and plenty of triggers for some. I enjoyed it, following Stella and Incubus/Cullen through some of the worst they could experience. Despite all the dark happening, there were moments of smiles, love, humor, and tears. I did not want to stop reading, needed to see how it all resolved. I loved little Isabella, quite a precocious young girl. The strength to keep going was driven by the love Stella and Incubus had for each other. Definitely looking forward to more.

This is my unsolicited review.

Loved this book! Great continuation to the Indiana Chapter of KOAMC. D. M. Earl has yet again brought to life another world of characters that are wonderful. Incubus has his dark side but getting to see the other side of him is amazing. Incubus and Stella's story is one not to miss. If you haven't read Property of Cobalt go grab that one first, but if you have don't miss out on Property of Incubus.

KOAMC Indiana Chapter – Incubus

This series just keeps getting better and better. First there was Cobalt’s book and with Incubus’s story they have both earned a five-star rating. Incubus is the enforcer for the club and he has plenty of secrets. Stella is a tough lady in her own right and has not had things easy and together these two sure made this book a real page turner that you don’t want to miss.

This book had made from the first page until the last. I’ve waited in one go. I just couldn’t put it down, it was a late night for me but was well worth it.
I would recommend reading the first book in the series so that you can follow along with the storyline.
What amazing storyline characters, it had a lot of dart twist and turns and I just couldn’t put it down.
It was a motorway yet again for me from DML one of my favourite authors

It was ok but it was confusing in some spots 4 me. Incubus is the enforcer and u don't want 2 get on his bad side. His wife is missing and they r trying 2 find her. But who's behind her it is surprising!! After what happened in his past he doesn't want anything 2 do with his family but only his brothers in the kings. Can they save his wife b4 it's 2 late? I wish it was clearer on a few things and answered some questions I had

This was a great but hard read.
The only reason it wasn't a top read is because there were several things relating to this story that were left unanswered.
I'm a nitty gritty reader though so ignore me.
I adored this surprising (in many ways) couple.
But the plot of this book will make their forever happiness even more special/hard fought for.
Like always this author handles tough subjects with dignity and grace.
I look forward to the next book.

I was excited for Incubus's book. Seeing him in Cobalt and Julie's book made me look at him in a new way. I was shocked when he told the club his secrets but excited too see where it went. Stella is a bada*s that lady has been to hell and back and she still kept fighting. I will say Julie, Sparkles and Nickel really showed up and Nickel grew alot. The ending wasn't what I was expecting at all.

Man oh man this one was a page turn. Both our main characters are tough, they can both handle business but between them they are unstoppable. And there's nothing they won't do for each other. That is my first time reading this author and now I am going to see what more I can find by her. Love them motorcycle men!- By Tasha

Well well well, Incubus-what a way to introduce yourself! I appreciate the mask you wear as Enforcer for this KOAMC chapter but gotta love your cinnamon rolly inside! I still want to know what's in the box from Maeve's closet!

This story held me captivated from the very start. I couldn’t read it fast enough. I needed to know what happened next.

Incubus and Stella’s story was an emotional read. It wasn’t all sunshine and roses. So do heed any trigger warnings. But that being said, it was beautifully written.

Now I can’t wait for the next edition in this series.
