This starts with the FMC, Melanie, getting an alert on her credit card. Her husband has used the card to secure a reservation at a restaurant. The trouble with that is that he texted her saying he was getting on a plane. The restaurant is 12 minutes away from her house.
She reports the charge as fraud and shuts down the card. Then she gets in the car…
KU and this was entertaining. I think the new romance happened way too quickly but that’s a me problem. Otherwise this was a nice little story, quick and well written. I enjoyed it.
“He looks away, and for the first time I see it: fear. Not of losing me. Not yet. Fear of losing the version of himself that had always required me to stand slightly behind him with a lint roller and a spreadsheet.” Love this quote!
Nothing the FMC did constituted revenge, it was simply correcting the record of her husband's lies.
After one mention of his daughter nothing else explains her or her mother. Okay book . The plot is a little lame. I felt confused about the credit card I have had fraud changes to mine and the process was just the card cancelled without calls from credit card . Not sure USA writer trying to write for USA audience but some of it feels off and not fully USA actions.
But just confused It says Holden had a daughter yet never mentioned marriage/divorce/widowed. Not even a question about it? Why was daughter not brought again?
