You can't accurately rate a test book. I'd give it a zero because standardized testing is a pox on the world but this book is helpful in preparing for that nasty beast.

Anyone prepping for the GRE should have this book. It is structured well and contains helpful information. Each new topic/section is followed with examples, hints, and practice problems. The answers and explanations to the problems are also provided after each section. There is a full practice test included in the end. The back of the book contains multiple sections such as a word root list, glossary, and mathematical resources. It also explains the way the GRE is set up and provides the ideal amount of time to spend on the problems.

This was a very stressful time in my life. I didn't really use this book to actually prepare for the GRE exam but being in proximity to me made me feel better.

I definitely recommend this to anyone interested in taking the GRE (although make sure to get the most current one). The book includes tips and strategies which I can't imagine I would do well without. I haven't taken it yet, but based on practice tests (included with the book) I expect I will do better than I would have on my own. There were a few mistakes/errors in the book though so read carefully. These errors were limited to examples mostly and it's really the strategies and tips that I think are helpful anyway.
