In New London, a sanctuary city of elites and scientists who have hidden away from the zombie infection, an epidemiologist races to create the vaccine in time - not to save the world, but to beat his fellow scientists to the Nobel prize. The epistolary form of the story - narrated in the good doctor's journal entries - is always one I enjoy immensely, because I get an immediate connection with the character. I didn't enjoy the ending, however, as it felt rushed to a conclusion. Otherwise, well done.
