I really enjoyed it!
Potential spoilers ahead (nothing major).
It isn’t awfully long like most Dramione fanfics, where the story can start to drag in the middle, but it isn’t too short either like a novella. The pacing felt just right.
This was quite a different fanfiction, in my opinion. Even though there was plenty of romance and several couples, that wasn’t the main focus of the story. Instead, the plot centred around a serial killer, with a group of Aurors tasked with catching him/her. It gave the story a mystery/thriller vibe that kept things interesting throughout.
We had so many cute couples too—Draco/Hermione, Harry/Luna, Theo/Elizabeth, Pansy/James, and more. I felt like every couple was given enough space to grow and explore their own storyline without taking away from the overall plot.
The found family trope was a huge part of this fic, so if that’s your thing, I definitely recommend giving it a read. I haven’t read loads of fics, but the Pansy and Hermione friendship in this one is honestly top tier. They’re complete opposites, but somehow it just works. One of my favourite parts was how protective Pansy—and really everyone—was of Hermione. 🥺
After the big reveal, when everyone found out what Hermione had been hiding, each of them went out of their way to make sure she was okay. It was so wholesome. Even towards the end, when Hermione was distraught over Draco, everyone stepped in to support her and make sure she wasn’t dealing with everything alone. Moments like that really sold the found family aspect for me and made me love the characters even more.

Hermione is still trapped in a toxic relationship with Ron when a string of ritual murders forces her to work with Draco and his terrifyingly competent Slytherin Auror unit.
This Draco felt much closer to canon. He was sarcastic, arrogant, emotionally constipated, and constantly trying to irritate Hermione. Their relationship starts with genuine hostility, but as the investigation forces them together, he becomes increasingly jealous, protective, and completely down bad.
I really liked that Hermione did not immediately recognize how unhealthy her relationship was or instantly recover once she left. She had to slowly rebuild her confidence and learn to trust herself again.
The Slytherin friendships were one of my favourite parts. Theo was chaotic and desperately needed therapy, Pansy was sharp and surprisingly supportive, and the entire group was basically a lethal found family.

August 15, 2026Hermione and Harry are assigned to work a serial killer case along with the Slytherin Unit consisting of Draco, Theo, Blaise, and Pansy. Hermione is also dealing with her toxic, abusive relationship with Ron that she has kept hidden from her friends. At first, Draco is extremely hostile towards Hermione and is his usual obnoxious self. But as they work together and Hermione’s secret is revealed, Draco’s feelings start to change. As the killer starts ramping up the attacks and starts to target the team personally, Draco realizes his true feelings and how far he will go to protect her.

Enjoyed!! First dramione fic (don't judge me pls) in a while. Not as good as the OGs BUT still really liked the storyline and serial killer vibes 🔪. Didn't love how Hermione was crying all the time, felt like she was made out to be a bit of a damsel. And how Draco randomly just fell in love lol
