Tessa Dawn grew up in Colorado, where she developed a deep affinity for the Rocky Mountains. After graduating with a degree in psychology, she worked for several years in criminal justice and mental health before returning to get her master’s degree in nonprofit management.
Tessa began writing as a child and composed her first full-length novel at the age of eleven. By the time she graduated high-school, she had a banker’s box full of short-stories and novels. Since then, she has published works as diverse as poetry, greeting cards, workbooks for kids with autism, and academic curricula. Her Dark Fantasy/Gothic Romance novels represent her long-desired return to her creative-writing roots and her passionate flair for storytelling.
Tessa currently splits her time between the Colorado suburbs and mountains with her two children and “one very crazy cat.” She hopes to one day move to the country where she can own horses and what she considers “the most beautiful creature ever created” -- a German Shepherd.
Hey Tessa Dawn? Dante called. He said your version of hell was a little too creepy for him. He's been having nightmares.
terrifying!
So, in this book we have Ramsey and Tiffany. We know them both from previous books, but would never have imagined them together. Tiffany is terrified of Ramsey because he is giant, brutal, and scary. But, he's also hot, so she should give him a chance. We all know that in book-world if a guy is hot he can get away with a helluva lot.
Thank goodness we are more sensible in real life!
While their story is playing out, we have another, much darker and bloodier "love story" going on. Salvatore - one of the bad guys who is a complete sadist AND masochist - has found himself a little girlfriend. This idiotic girl wants to dabble in evil so badly that she is trying to bargain away her soul in return for power and immortality. Salvatore is intrigued. Should he take her and use her as a nanny? Because, they just can't seem to keep the nannies alive in the dark fortress of evil.
...could certainly use another full-time nanny, considering what had happened to the last one: such an unpleasant business involving chains, a test tube, and a dull knife.
It is hard finding good help these days! What are they supposed to do with all of their little demon babies when the mothers all die bloody brutal deaths and the men keep raping, torturing, and killing all of the nannies?
But, Salvatore decides that he will let his evil girlfriend give up her soul to become a vampire IF she can pass a few tests. She's all too happy to agree - until she finds out that a good part of her testing will be torture, torturous rape, torturous submission, and killing a vampire prince. This evil club is not easy to get in to!
Cuz girls are yucky!
So, Salvatore's torture girlfriend is supposed to get friendly with Tiffany to get close to the vampire prince. But, Tiffany's new man is the vampire Hulk, so this may not go exactly as planned...
Is that all you got? Cuz this is netflix and chill compared to being Salvatore's girlfriend.
This book was fun, dark, and had a lot of humor. It also, like all of the past books, gives us a taste of who the next vampire to find his mate will be, and this should be interesting. If I were going to guess and make a comparison, I would say that the next book will be Phury's story.
Now that we are kind of done with the Silivasi Brothers, we are starting to see more about the sentinels. Ramsey has been in pretty much all the books up until this point and it was nice seeing his strong and abrupt personality in more depth. But I felt like this couple did not fit, it is the first couple that felt this way. Well, if you also count Marquis and Kristina in the 2nd book.
You know, now that I am reading this series for the second time I can clearly see that I didn't like the heroine from when she first appeared in the 3rd book. You know that person that is just too much, reacts too fast and too strongly, uses humor in absolutely every situation? That's this heroine. And in her own book I liked her even less. A lot of suspicion things were going on and just because she "didn't have a good relationship with the hero" she didn't talk to him about the things she was seeing. But that's not why I didnt like her, she just irritated the heck out of me.
This book was very meh borderibg on bad and boring in the beginning. Only after some action took place that the book picked up and the plot turned out great. Not very reliable, as who would go to a park after dark to meet someone suspicious with a child in tow? Hello-o? But okay, it is fiction.
The hero was nothing special, maybe because of the heroine, idk, but one thing he did with enormous frequency that I cringed every time was that he kept calling her "baby girl". Uuuugh, creepy much?
My rate was purely for the very funny parts. I feel so morbid for laughing about some things that happened here. But well.
And what about what happened to Salvatore? Ugh. Tough guy to kill! But we can always hope. Lol
As an avid reader of fantasy and romance series, usually by book 7, the plots get kinda eh. The characters aren't as exciting. This is not the case with Blood Vengeance. Wow. I'm still in a bit of shock. This tale took me on an unexpected roller coaster of emotions. Plot twists I never saw coming. I'm beyond blown away by this installment in this series. If you are out there reading reviews, trying to decide whether or not to read this book, heck, this series, do it. Vampires have been reinvented, love interests aren't weak sauce, and the writing is stellar. I don't have enough words to describe how well written, and well thought out this book is.
This is Ramsey Olaru's story. The bad a@@ Sentinel, who carries a Pitch Fork to kill the bad guys, (joking) it is called a Trident!! He has finally met his match with his destiny but first he has to chase her and a horse off a steep cliff! Tiffany is no whimpering female she is strong willed and stubborn. Now they must fight for their very lives and others before they can even get on with fulfilling the Blood Curse. I have been reading this series since the beginning and never once has any of the books let me down. In fact this was my 5th re-read, before writing this review. I can not come up with the words to express how much this book touched me so deeply. One part has me crying even tho I knew it was coming all 4 times of the re-read! Each read through I tried to write a great review, I never felt like I did this book the justice. Time for me to stop procrastinating and just put this review out there. While I had numerous questions why, what, how etc..... This book answered so many of them. Thank You Tessa Dawn! I Highly Recommend this book, but please read in order. I do not like to give a lot away about the story when I write a review. What I will tell you is that Tessa Dawn brought Ramsey and Tiffany's story to life in the most amazing way. You know how when you watch sports on TV and yell and cheer for your favorite team? Well thats how I felt reading this book. There was a lot of sitting on the edge of my seat and nail biting. Maybe even a little crying. I'm not kidding this book was an awesome hair raising ride to be on and Tessa Dawn is an amazing story teller. If you are not reading this series you are missing out.
Each time I open a Blood Curse Series book I know that I am about to be transported into another world. Blood Vengeance was no different. This story had every emotion racing to the surface. Fear,Anger, Despair, Joy, Pride and so many more. All the hallmarks we have come to love from Tessa Dawn’s amazing story telling skills are woven into this book. Her ability to bring to life all the characters as well as the connection to the world of Dark Moon Vale are all here waiting to be experienced. We get to see the House of Jadon in action when events transpire that transform everything they thought they knew. We are shown what brotherhood and sacrifice is, along with love and loyalty. Ramsey is a harsh, loyal, fierce, bad ass Sentinel. But, that is only the tip of the ice burg of who this Warrior is. And Tiffany is strong and independent, she definitely gives Ramsey a run for his money. The push and pull between them had me laughing out loud as well as cringing.
As the tale unfolds we see two worlds collide in a way that will leave you gasping for air and grabbing for your Kleenex while possibly throwing your E-reader/book across the room. It’s THAT intense and moving. There are some stories so hard to take however, in the end they are the most beautiful. It’s brilliantly written and exceptionally profound. Bravo Tessa Dawn on another wonderful installment of the Blood Curse Series
Fantastic story and series! Excellent Narration by Eric G. Dove (audible review)
Oh my I love this series. It is so good! Every book is wonderful. I loved Ramsey and was so looking forward to his story. It did not disappoint either. Ramsey is such an awesome character, hot, sexy, smart, strong and just great! Tiffany was a great character as well. I liked her wit and sarcasm it was just the right amount not over the top. They had some great chemistry together too. It was real no forced.
There is some wonderful dialogue throughout the entire book. I love lots of dialogue. These vampires are truly awesome! Everyone of them, and now I am so looking forward to Lucian's book. OMG the epilogue was amazing! Eric G. Dove singing "the house of the rising sun" was fan freakingtastic!
Eric Dove is truly one of the best narrators ever! He is so good. If you haven't listened to him you should. Everyone get's their own distinct voice, the women sound like women. He reads with emotion and the man can sing!
I highly recommend this entire series! Just give it a try and say yes! Don't give up after the first book, They get better and better!
This is the 7th book of the Blood Curse series. Love this series , love the authors writing, and love the population of Blood moon vale. I know when I dive in to read the book I will get a great dark story that has my full attention. This one follows Ramsey and Tiffany. Ramsey in the previous books always struck me as that hard ass, alpha, no nonsense type of guy, so i was super excited to read this one. Now Tiffany meh she was OK I suppose.
The first 50 percent of the book really only focused on Tiffany's POV, we didn't get hardly anything from Ramsey. During that 50 percent we get her insight on how she feels, her fears etc. which were pretty believable, I felt for her. Ramsey struck me as pretty confident, he really didn't Woo her, seemed to give me the "She'll come around eventually" vibe lol. Which I think stayed in line with who he is. At this point in the story I really didn't see this relationship getting anywhere. I wasn't feeling any draw to them as a couple. More like they had to be together because of the curse.
Now after the 50 percent mark and shit gets crazy we get Ramsey's pov. I did get emotional during this. (glad no one was watching me when I was at this part!) We get to know Ramsey a little more, his brothers, and Julien. I do have to say though Tiffany is not as smart as she lead us to believe in the beginning. I was on edge thinking NOOOOOOO don't do it! Pfft.
After the craziness resolves I stared to feel the relationship come alive. He was more assertive, he let his feeling for her show. And this part was HOT. The complaint I have though is that was really the only scene/glimpse you get with the heart to heart with them. (The beginning to their relationship) The story was fast forwarded to shes a vamp (we didn't get to feel that monumental moment in their relationship of her transition to becoming a vampire, I felt with how adverse she was in the beginning of the story with it, we should of got to experience it with them) - Then it was fast forwarded again to Tiffany giving birth - Then to their happy relationship. I kinda felt left out. Seriously I was bummed. Everything else was good.
Ok with that said... And after that Epilogue...I NEED the next book!

OMG!! There is one question that kept surfacing throughout this helacious installment and that is, "What the Hell just happened?" Miss Dawn has delivered again. BLOOD VENGEANCE does not disappoint.
In this installment we get to know Ramsey Olaru in a most intriguing and spellbinding way. Not only is Ramsey one Bodaciously sexy vampire, he is also strong willed and loyal. A sentinel guard for the house of Jadon, he takes his position very seriously. He will do whatever it takes to fulfill the demands of the Blood Curse, making Tiffany his.
Tiffany cracked me up with her witty one-liners as she deals with becoming Ramsey's destiny. Oh yes! There were times when I wanted to throw my tablet across the room or had to walk away. This is one series that will test the boundaries of emotional fortitude for sure. So keep the tissues handy... You just may need them, I sure did.
I highly highly recommend this series to the vampire lovers who like steam and action, as well a strong plot and solid characters.

This latest book in The Blood Curse Series is KFC and Maxwell House! Of course, Tessa has to rip your heart out and leave you crying so much that you have to walk away from the book for a little while! But WOW! What a book!! I'm in love with Ramsey! He reminds me so much of my Alpha, sorry Marquis but I think you have been replaced as my favorite. Tessa, how fast can you write Julien's story? Can not wait!!!
OMG! Why do authors have to find one endearing name for the hero to call the heroine. “Baby girl” was used about 20 times in this book and “baby” (in one form or another: baby or baby doll) was used 54 times and “blondie was used about 22 times. It was like Ramsey completely forgot Tiffany’s name. From the time his sign showed up on her wrist he never said her name. That was crazy.
Oh, and BTW, if you’re queasy about blood and torture this book is really not for you. What Salvatore does to Tawni was absolutely horrible. I just can’t wait for him to die. He’s one disgusting and terrible character. One you just love to HATE!
I did think it was kind of stupid that she agreed to meet Tawni at a park, with Phoenix, Napolean and Brooke’s 13 month old son and a prince, whom Tiffany borrowed, at midnight! Who the hell takes a baby to a park at midnight? That just made Tiffany TSTL, and the author was just silly to come up with that scenario. HOWEVER, the battle in the park was awesome. The best battle than in all the other books.
Oh, and that ceremony to bring Saber into the House of Jadon? THAT was truly brutal. It’s a really good thing these vampires are so tough. Whew! That even made me cringe in pain just reading all he went through.
Overall, this was a terrific book, the stories going on around each other. The awesome characters. Everyone one is just so magical, BUT it’s not for everyone. There was sex but it wasn’t until the end of the book and there wasn’t any really bad swear words. But there was blood, gore and torture.
All of those old sayings about books serving as the conduit to lands where anything is possible are spot on accurate. A good book can take away your pain, your worries and transport you to a magical place filled with wonder, adventure, love and constant excitement. If you’re lucky, you’ll find a series that does that very thing with each new installment. You look forward to re-entering a world that you love and you’re ready to sit down with your favorite characters and join them on their newest crusade.
This is what the Blood Curse Series does.
The latest installment, Blood Vengeance, continues a tradition of great storytelling that began long ago and centers on the very powerful and very deadly sentinel, Ramsey Olaru. I’ve felt for years that the beauty of this series is Tessa Dawn’s ability to humanize these legendary, larger than life creatures. Blood Vengeance not only takes us on Ramsey’s journey to discover his destiny, Tiffany Matthews, we also get to follow the journey he takes as he discovers himself.
Blood Vengeance is an engaging mixture of humor, tenderness, love, passion, adventure and danger with some supernatural flavoring. I encourage all lovers of dark fantasy to hop on board and take a ride with Ramsey and Tiffany as they embark on the dangerous path to answer the call of the Blood Curse.
What a great book! I don't know how but Tessa Dawn actually has you sitting on the edge of your seat when you read her books and Ramsey and Tiffany's Story is no different if anything she draws you in more and more to the world of Dark Moon Vale and you actually learn a bit more of the history of the House of Jadon I love that you meet old friends and enemies from the series and how you can laugh , cry, hate , love and smile even snicker at some of the antics of the Warriors, woman and everyone in this awesome series......do yourself a favor and put these books on your MUST BE READ list, you will not be disappointed .....you will be addicted.....thank you Tessa you rocked it off the charts again!
I loved the series but this book made me dnfr for a minute. Ramsey denied Kristina and called her a child in previous books but it's ok for Tiffany to be so freaking stupid and childish, being a destiny is basically a trump card for any kind of stupidity. I never met a person my life who would be so removed reality and common sense. I wish author wouldn't take her readers for granted and invested a bit more in her characters. Tiffany is weak, dumb and scared of her own shade and I can't imagine a bad ass like Ramsey being interested or happy to be destined to such misery. Ms Dawn, please give your heroines more common sense.
My first swoon moment hot Damn I would have been putty in his hands
The first time I really saw you was several months later, at Napolean’s mansion. You were sitting on the sofa in the front room in a pair of killer stilettos. You had half a dozen toys wrapped up in your arms, a ballpoint pen tucked behind your ear, and your makeup was smeared along the corner of your left eye. And I said to myself, Holy shit, Ramsey; now that’s one fine-as-hell woman. If I hadn’t been bound by this Curse, and you hadn’t been the queen’s best friend, I would have been all kinds of all over you.”He chuckled deep in his throat. “Point is: I want you, Tiffany. And I always have.”Tiffany’s stomach did a tiny little flip, and she lifted her chin to gaze up at him—she couldn’t help it, and she couldn’t avoid it. She felt like a moth drawn to an infernal flame, and her heart literally fluttered “Just answer one question.”He spoke with confidence just say his piece and let her go. Gods help her, but she felt like a mouse shivering in the paws of a lion. “All the bullshit aside: Are you attracted to me, baby girl?”Tiffany nearly swooned, and she wasn’t the type to swoon. What kind of question was that? Any woman who had eyes, ears, or warm blood coursing through her veins couldn’t help but be attracted to Ramsey Olaru. On a scale from one to ten, with regard to physical perfection, he was a five hundred, a demi-god. “Yes,”
Ramsey Olaru I think I'm in love. I have decided that the Olaru brothers are my faves and I'm in love with them all
This is an awesome series. Tessa Dawn has a way of bringing her characters, and surroundings to life. Both of these characters have been in other books. Ramsey is one of the Kings sentinels, and although very handsome, his personality is very strong. Tiffany is Queen Brook' s, human best friend. They came to the Dark Vale for a vacation together, last year. This book has lots of funny , and snarky comments. There are lots to things to consider, but since not mating can lead to death, even Tiffany could not do that. The more time they share, the more they find that is perfect in their future. There is a huge twist, that is shocking, and adds to the book. I will not ruin the plot, but to say I really liked both characters, and the story really kept my interest, until late in the night. 5 star rating.
Prepare for an oncoming train, you just don’t see this one coming. Tessa Dawn is brilliant, once again sucking her readers into massive chaos the no one could’ve expected. A combination of love, heartbreak, and a lot of sarcasm, going through Ramsey’s journey with his newfound destiny is nothing like we’ve ever seen before. Tessa Dawn adds snarky comments with real honest emotion to give us readers a story that is so real you’ll find yourself terrified, infuriated, elated, and laughing till your side hurts over and over again through each chapter. The talented Tessa Dawn continues to reel in her readers with characters you love, villains you hate, and excitement that keeps you turning page after page, not being able to put the book down. A wonderful addition to the Blood Curse Series, Blood Vengeance is full of tough decisions, raw emotion, and of course, vampires.
I think for me this story just doesn't have the pull, I was looking forward to reading this book too.
The chemistry of these two is boring, I lost more interest as the chapters went on. I'm not ready to give up on this series yet, because I loved the first ones. I think because I was not feeling the characters of this book for me there was pages that just was not moving the story along.
I think the male role in this book didn't have the alpha maleness like the others. He was bland compared to the first few books.
But do not base the other books on this review because I loved the first ones.
Read: May 5th 2015 I'm pretty stumped on how to rate this book. Like really stumped. Kind of like I had been with KMM's newest release Burned. There were a lot of things I loved about this book and some I did not. *sigh* This dark-fantasy series is still my favorite and probably always will be. To me it's not a three star book (it was better than that) but it is not a four either. I wish goodreads would get with the program and add the half stars already.
Holy freaking crap what a ride! Tessa has written another gem with Blood Vengeance. It's a roller coaster ride of emotions that are absolutely heart wrenching at one point. It takes a hell of a book to make me cry and I was a crying hot mess when I hit around 47%. I literally felt like my heart was being shredded. Now don't get me wrong, it wasn't all like that. There were also times I laughed and got ticked off as well. And that ending? Wth, omg woman. lol. Can not wait to read the next one. Loved this so much and love Tessa too. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful series.
The female characters are beginning to become predictable and some of the phases and a couple of the characters are the same. If someone says "Sweetie" one more time I'll scream..:) A easy read for this genera, don't have to think too much about the characters and the one dimensional personalities. What I miss is some of the characters which had a greater depth of the character and were quickly forgotten (i.e. Nachari Siivasi (Wizard) and Saber Alexiares (DarkOne) in books 4 & 5).
I was excited to read Ramsey’s story, however I hated this entire experience. I was surprised because I am a fan of the series. The story was lacking plus I did not like the lets turn back time and fix everything part of the book. Hoping this was just one of those books in the series you just dont like. I will be continuing the series, I do really enjoy most of the characters and storylines.
P.S. Tiffanys character was the worst thing about this book for me.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This series is absolutely amazing. Quickly becoming a favorite for me in this genre. What I love most about Tessa Dawn is no 2 books are the same and none of her characters are the same. Each story in the series is completely unique.
Like each of the other books in this series, Tessa Dawn does not disappoint her fans! Love the character development and the story line!!! Highly recommend!
The latest book blood vengeance, was both exciting and very emotional read as always it brought back all the series main players and introduced new ones
Blood Vengeance is book #7 of the Blood Curse series. Forget the cleaning, the laundry, the dishes, your job! This book needs your full attention! This Vampire says what he means, and he does not mix words. Ruggedly handsome, fierce, and will destroy anything or anyone who tries to harm or touch what belongs to him, his destiny, his woman, which in turn is a force of her own to be reckoned with and most certainly can rattle his cage. He is chosen as a protector of his kind and will die if he has too. Emotions are raw and deep, sensual, domineering and oh so eager to please. Your heart will race and you mind will be blown by the turn of events. Be prepared to take a double take as Author Tessa Dawn takes you deep into their world of underlying plots, twists, and turns at every corner. Happy reading
I was so excited for Ramsay's book but it was such a disappointment. The fl irritated me so much throughout the book with her idiocy. Ramsay's character was not as described in the previous books. I found him to be totally different and don't get me started on that babygirl bullsh*t. Ugh!
