Secrets of Malfoy Manor
Lucius Malfoy has died, and Draco has inherited the Malfoy estate. For the next six months it is under Ministry review.
Draco Malfoy's problems now include: (i) a vast network of assets he cannot name, let alone manage properly; (ii) a one-night stand who won't go away; (iii) a different one-night stand he's wanted to find for years; and (iv) his mother's insistence that he start courting, preferably before Pansy Parkinson does.
Meanwhile, Hermione heads out on a field assignment where she makes an unexpected friend. Upon her return she’s given a new assignment from the Ministry that should be a curse-breaker's dream: find Lucius Malfoy's dark objects and decommission them.
If only the Manor would be more cooperative.

This might be my favorite 8th year fic! Wonderful blend of friendship, romance and plot.
It starts off with Hermione and Draco returning to Hogwarts after the war. Without Harry and Ron, it was refreshing to read Hermione relishing in independence and female companionship with Ginny and Luna. She could truly shine without the-boy-who-needs-help-all-the-time. Displays of non-verbal spell work and pure magic power made “the brightest witch of her age”title much more convincing.
This version of Draco is the epitome of Granger-worshipper but plays it cool, still sarcastic, funny, gives no fucks, pragmatic, self-serving, but he gives off of a huge “wow my gf is the most powerful witch ever and I’m so proud” energy. Just a little bit possessive without overdoing it. The way the author writes makes me feel like they are actual people who lived.
The build up of the relationship tho - CHEFS KISS. She initiating interhouse unity by sitting the Slytherin table with Ginny and Luna and perplexing the hell out of Draco and Theo. The girls showing off in class with their advance mastery of patronus - Hermione with every spell really. Draco stalking her reading progress to read the books she was reading. He waits at the back of the class with her coffee and breakfast when she skips them. He picks up her magic signature and finds her when she’s lonely/sad. Meet-ups in empty classrooms to drink and vent. Miss uses of the invisibility cloak. Draco teaching Hermione occlumency during her panic attack. The flirty mail-chain and salacious postscripts. Holy shit the tension.
Can I say the best Ginny characterization ever? Invoking Section 9.2 of the Weasley Sibling Code for grievance committee to slam Ron is hilarious.
Even after the relationship is established the book was captivating. There was plenty of plot to go on - brewing healing potion for Longbottoms, controlling Fiendfyre to restore Room of Requirements, Lucius’s trial etc. I was not bored for one second.
Just a wonderful Dramione fanfic for lovers of the OG Harry Potter series. The fic doesn’t introduce many new machinations but it cleverly drills into the original story and magic of Hogwarts and enriches the characters I’ve loved.
P.S. the curse of never going to Yule Ball with your crush continues… at least Draco is strategic this time 😏

I LOVE a great Dramoine Fic, this was an amazing read, kind of a slow burn but I did love how everyone came together and were friends! Godbless Theo for that. However I felt it was rather wrapped up very shortly. I wanted to see their wedding and how many children they had! There was so much detail that I felt like we missed out on. Maybe ene had just included a 2 chapter epilogue to cover these!
