Sarah/Katherine was born and raised in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, one of the three secret cities of the Manhattan Project.

She got her B.A. from Case Western Reserve University, her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Despite being summa cum laude, none of her degrees is of the slightest use to her in either her day job or her writing, which she feels is an object lesson for us all.

She currently lives near Madison, Wisconsin.

Maia is likable. That’s really the only thing I liked. The book would have been 3/4 shorter if not for all the names, mostly ending in “Var” and a minimum of 3 syllables each. Even with all the naming I still had no idea who anyone was. Whenever there was potential for an exciting moment it was over before I could exhale. Maybe it’s just not my kind of story but I was incredibly bored the whole way through. I feel as if I need an award for getting through this one🤣.
