A Heartfelt Story About Finding Your Way Home

Sutton’s Home is an emotional and beautifully engaging story about choices, loss, friendship, and the search for a place where you truly belong. Lis Blanchard creates a protagonist in Sutton who feels wonderfully human—someone whose mistakes and struggles make you want to keep turning the pages to discover whether she can finally find her way to happiness.

I was especially drawn to Sutton’s relationship with Jonah. His quiet loyalty and willingness to keep offering her a way forward adds an emotional layer to the story, particularly as Sutton repeatedly makes choices that lead her deeper into difficult circumstances. The key becomes a powerful symbol of the possibilities she keeps overlooking.

I was warned this book was heartbreaking, and it was. But it is also full of love and friendship getting us through the toughest places. I was absolutely invested in the main character, Sutton. I wanted her life to be good and happy. I wanted everything for her.

I am so grateful to have read Sutton’s Home. I know people who have been through hell as children and adults. Pain seems to follow them wherever they go. Sutton brought all of them to mind. She was a warrior who was burdened down with unbearable suffering.

Sutton’s Home is a moving and poignant read that will stay with me for a long time. I purchased my copy directly from the author, and I’m so glad I did. It's a heartfelt story that makes the world a little richer for having been told.
