⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As someone who usually lives in the fantasy section, I wasn’t sure what to expect going into Nothing Serious… I was immediately obsessed with the cover (which the author designed herself! Yes, I absolutely judged a book by its cover, but can you blame me? It’s gorgeous. 🫣😂), so I figured I’d give it a shot. What I didn’t expect was such a feel-good read that I devoured in just two days.

The characters and their relationships felt incredibly relatable, and one of my favorite parts was the friendship between Liv and Viv. It was such a refreshing, genuine female friendship that felt real, supportive, and effortless. I’m also a sucker for an animal companion, and Sunny the cat absolutely stole my heart along with everyone he met. 🐈 Of course the MMC was a special guy but I’ll let you enjoy getting to know that “coffee shop hottie” when you read the book!😉

Side note…I also couldn’t help but laugh at the fantasy-loving Fran, who appreciated characters with… let’s just say impressive wingspans. As a fantasy reader myself, I felt very seen. 😂

This story has everything I personally look for in a romance…chemistry, humor, emotional depth, and heavier topics woven in thoughtfully, all while reminding you that trusting your heart is worth the risk, even when it’s scary.

Fair warning: this book will absolutely have you craving a cozy coffee shop, a latte, and a buttery croissant by the time you’re done. ☕️🥐

Listen, there might be spoilers in here. I really don’t think so but there’s just things I don’t consider spoilers that other people do (like hello, we all know if they end up together or not, right?)

Nothing Serious is about Liv, who, after a terrible date (Bad Date Bradley 🤬🤬🤬) and an even worse day at work, unexpectedly finds herself on vacation in the sweetest small town, when she comes face to face with the hottie she fell for (literally) in a coffee shop (that’s only 4 or 7 hours away) a few days prior.

The first thing I NEED to say is everyone needs a best friend like Viv. Yes, I know, I thought the same thing at first: Liv and Viv?! But then I remembered that I literally grew up with a best friend with my exact name and my oldest son’s name also rhymes with his best friends name. So it does happens in real life, friends.

Liv herself is a vibe. What she did with that wine in the beginning? 👏👏👏 She’s hard working, fiercely loyal (even I don’t go to the same coffee shop 10 days in a row), incredibly smart and relatably insecure (probably more so for me than you for the specific reason she’s so insecure but she’s pretty relatable nonetheless).

Luke is handsome (duh. We love a man in a henley 😍), charming, funny, a good son, handsome, apparently has really good taste in how he decorates his house, did I mention handsome? He cares deeply for his family and the B&B, but maybe just a little too much. I’m dying to say something here but I think it crosses dangerously close to spoiler territory so let’s just say our man isn’t necessarily the greatest communicator and I was constantly screaming “just tell her!” But you know what, that’s why he got diarrhea and frankly, he deserved it for not being honest in the first place.

I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I fell in love… not just with Luke and Liv but with Viv and Josh and Reg (especially Reg), Fran, Rachel.. the whole dang town.

4.5 stars! If you’re looking for summer vibes, cute nicknames, girls who support girls, small town, forced proximity, open door spice, add this to your TBR!

I was given an ARC of this by the author, in exchange for my honest review.

This book gets a solid 4.5 star rating from me!

I was sold from the opening coffee shop scene, and before I was even 10% into the book, the MMC had already given the FMC a nickname—which is basically an instant win for me. Add in fresh croissants, a cozy bed and breakfast, and the charm of a small town, and I was completely invested.

There were so many little details that made this story feel warm and comforting. An adorable orange cat? Yes, please. A black Henley with the sleeves rolled up? Yes, please!!!!

One of my favorite parts, though, was the friendships. The female friendships felt genuine, supportive, and refreshing. I love a true girls' girl, and the FMC's best friend was the kind of wing-woman everyone deserves. Their bond added so much heart to the story.

If you're looking for a cozy small-town romance with plenty of charm, memorable characters, and all the little details that make you smile while reading, Nothing Serious is definitely worth adding to your TBR.

I was sent this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review and I'm so glad I had the chance to read it early! This should be on everyone's summer reading list.

Things I loved:
☕ Coffee shop setting
🥐 Croissants
💕 Nicknames
🏡 Cozy bed and breakfast
🌿 Small-town vibes
🐈 An orange cat
👯‍♀️ Incredible female friendships

4.9 stars! This is a feel-good, heartwarming love story that hit all the right buttons. As someone who is a hopeless romantic for both city life and small town life, this book spoke to me.

I immediately fell in love with besties Liv & Viv. Their drive and support of each other had me rooting for them from the beginning.

As the girls headed off on a much needed vacation to unwind, I was swept away by the charm of the small town and everyone they met along the way. The banter was spot on and I loved the subtle pop culture references, not to mention the very enjoyable slow burn romance that came along. 🌶️ (The cat, Sunny, couldn’t just stay in his room!)

The chapters are short, which made the book that much more binge-worthy. I kept wanting to read “just one more” chapter until before I knew it, I had tears in my eyes and no more pages to read.

In the end, there were a few characters’ stories that weren’t wrapped up completely, and honestly, that’s my only reason for not giving it a full 5 stars. It also left me hoping this isn’t the last we’ve seen of them. 🤞

Thank you to the author for the advanced reader copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review.

I could not put this book down!

Nothing Serious is a great contemporary romance novel following Luke and Liv on their journey of healing and finding a love that they deserve.

From the moment I started this book (literally, the dedication alone had me wanting to read more), I was hooked. The story wasn't overly cheesy, had the right amount of spice, and wasn't over complicated. The slow burn was truly the perfect pace and the characters were liekable and relatable. I felt like I could have been reading about my own friends.

I do have a few unanswered questions lingering, but am hoping maybe it is leaving the door open for a sequel or two. I want to know more of Viv's story as well as more about Luke's family; his military brother, what about sister Zoe and niece Piper? And what happens with Josh and Fancy Suit Guy?

I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review and I truly will be recommending this book to my friends and family (I may have already started recommending).

Nothing Serious by Britt Blossom is a binge-worthy love story that uses an alternating first-person point of view. It's also a story that shows what true friendship really should look like. It shows the major differences between living in a big city versus a small town. It really made me want to move to a small town. This book made me laugh, cry, and feel heartbroken at moments. There were many unpredictable moments. Parts of the book were extra spicy too.

After a bad date and horrible day at work, Liv, her best friend, Viv, and her cat, Sunny, are taking a well deserved vacation away from Manhattan to a bed and breakfast in a small town. What Liv didn't expect was to run into a man she never thought she would see again. A gorgeous man that she had an embarrassing encounter with not too long ago. A man she wanted to hate. He's also a man that works at the bed and breakfast.

Throughout her ten-day stay, she has to learn to slow down, relax, and enjoy each moment rather than constantly be thinking about work. With forced proximity, she learns how to coexist with the man she despises and starts to get to know him better. She has moments to reflect and even discovers information about one of her family members while staying there. As time passes, she gets to know more people and has new experiences which helps her grow as a person in the best way possible.

I’ve read a LOT of romance and, quite frankly, was jaded by the whole genre and so many cookie-cutter stories, which all too often neglect any real emotional depth and character development. NOT this book!
This is a delight to read. Grab your tea / coffee / wine and settle in for a fun small-town romance. The author has done a great job creating a believable and relatable cast of characters. The friendship between Viv and Liv is fun, supportive, and Viv is everything you need in a best friend. Stressed out from work and having had yet another dud date—Bad Date Bradley. The friends go on holidays…
You can see that the adventure starts here, when Liv meets Luke. The romance that follows is excellent. Blossum ticks all the boxes you could possibly want in this genre and she does it exceptionally well. The hot sex scenes are there, BUT the author hasn’t forgotten the emotional depth of the story and the relationship, and this is one of the strongest elements that I enjoyed in this romance—because it creates a greater impact on readers.
The cast of characters are quirky and delightful to read. You will find yourself laughing, feeling teary, your heart will beat faster and you’ll definitely swoon.
Five stars because I haven’t read a romance that I’ve enjoyed as much in a while.

This book was a solid 4.5 stars for me! It immediately grabbed my attention and I found myself thinking about the characters even when I wasn’t reading. Liv and Viv are the sweetest best friends, and their relationship was what initially hooked me. A story with strong female characters who love and support each other AND run a business together is refreshing.
Liv meets Luke in a very unconventional (and hilarious) way, and later finds herself at his family’s B&B when she goes on vacation with Viv. They have both been hurt by past relationships and try to keep things light between them, but find it more difficult with each day that passes. The slow burn love story is beautiful, but know that there are some spicy scenes. I found myself smiling and laughing while watching the love story play out.
In addition to the main love story there is a whole cast of characters who are absolutely delightful. I’m hoping there are plans for more books with Josh, Mae, Holly, Rachel, Pops and more. There are so many more stories to tell and I can’t wait to go back to Maple Cove and hear them all!

I was sent this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my honest review. I had so much fun reading this book. It had my emotions all over the place. One page my heart was breaking; the next I was giggling. And the banter and slow burn *chef's kiss *. I will say that there's a bit of insta-lust, which is not my favorite thing to read, but it wasn't cringy and was done in a way that set up the whole story line. While I understand why the author included the chapters about Liv's mom, I felt that it really detracted from the story. I understand wanting to give context to why Liv was the way she was about relationships and her self-confidence, but I felt that giving it that many chapters was unnecessary. I still loved the plot overall though.
I know that you're "supposed" to love the main characters more than the side characters but Viv and Josh stole my heart. I enjoyed the parts with them a little more than those without them. They were hilarious and had such exuberant personalities. I honestly hope that there are two books about those two coming next! I would definitely read those! I did like Liv and Luke, but for me, Viv and Josh brought more life to the story. I did love the character growth that Liv and Luke experienced; Luke's was backstory, while there, didn't overshadow the main story line, which I felt Liv's backstory did to a certain degree.
The spice was appropriate and did not border on erotica. The lead up to the spice was well paced and I didn't think it happened too quickly. It also did not overtake the plotline once the initial scene took place.
Overall, it was a well-written, fast-paced summer read, and the cover is GORGEOUS!! If she write another book, especially about Viv or Josh, I will be picking it up.

✨ ARC Review ✨

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Stars

I absolutely adored Nothing Serious by Britt Blossom.

This is a contemporary slow-burn romance with just enough spice, but what really made it stand out for me was the heart. Alongside the romance, it tackles heavier themes like drug use and abandonment with care, giving the story so much emotional depth.

I flew through this book. I kept finding myself smiling at the little moments—the lingering glances, the accidental touches, the whispered conversations. As a hopeless romantic, I was completely sold.

One of my favorite parts was Liv and Viv's friendship. Their relationship felt so genuine that I forgot I was reading fiction at times. Their banter, honesty, and unwavering support for each other reminded me so much of my own friendships, and I loved every scene they shared.

This was one of those books that leaves you with a full heart after you turn the last page.

⭐️ 5 stars from me. I'd happily read it again and won't hesitate to recommend it to every romance reader in my life.

“Luke’s eyes roam my body like I’m the only thing worth looking at on this earth.” In this slow burn, small town romance two best friends help their counterparts realize that if they are vulnerable with each other it may just lead to something pretty great! Once Liv discovers something about her past (yes, there were tears), she is able to truly understand that there is beauty in new beginnings and make a decision about her future. At times, I found myself screaming in my head “ what are you waiting for?”

Being an avid reader I was excited to get my hands on an advanced copy of this book. This book definitely had slow burn spiciness but was multi-faceted in it’s plots and storylines. I already have ideas for sequels :). After reading this book I not only fell in love with the quirky and often relatable characters but wanted to visit Maple Cove myself. I laughed, I cried, I fist bumped some characters and wanted to swap books with ofhers. I Can’t wait for you all to feel all the feels.

Thank you to the author for the advance readers copy

Really enjoyed reading “Nothing Serious” because of course nothing serious can happen to two individuals that have been hurt by people that are supposed to love them. Liv would rather work her bottom off than to find herself in a serious relationship and finding herself abandoned again. Luke does everything to protect his family and their business but he will not give himself a chance to love again and be told he’s not enough. Yet they can’t seem to get each other off their minds. When things at work go haywire Liv and her bestie Viv decide it’s time for a vacation and end up in Luke’s family’s bed and breakfast. It starts with glances, then some flirting, progreses to making out, and then they have what’s suppose to be a one night stand. Can they get over their past abandonment issues and start a life or will they be too scared to give it a try? The story naturally progresses with its plot. There is “mild” spice but nothing scandalous.

For a debut book, this book was great! There was a nice small town charm in the heart of a busy New York life that just made you want to take a break and pause. For Liv, she has always wanted to be noticed by her mom. Having abandonment issues has cause her a great deal of issues that she uses to make her business with her best friend and business partner Viv thrive. Meeting Luke the way that Liv did set the tone for their story and I was a goner. Both of them had a rough time with past relationships, but they both used communication and when Liv saw Luke again during her vacation at his families B&B it seemed like fate took a hand in their story as well. This book makes you take a look at things, and makes you take a step back and pause. I loved the banter between all of the characters and laughed non stop through this book!! Thank you Britt Blossom for letting me ARC read this book for my honest review!. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I genuinely fell in love with Liv and Viv’s friendship since that is ABSOLUTELY me and my friends. Perfect pacing for the whole book and I could NOT put it down. Luke and Liv’s journey was so satisfying to read because they were both so relatable and believable. Overall I absolutely adore this book and love a good small town and forced proximity romance, and especially love that Luke was described with a nose and teeth that weren’t ‘perfect’. So refreshing in a sea of MMCs with everything straight out a magazine.

Of course, MASSIVE thank you to Britt for blessing me with the opportunity to read this book as an ARC reader and building a community of incredible people who also adore this book. If you love the vibes of a small town lake area and characters that all have their own personality and quirks, this is the book for you. I will be waiting on the edge of my seat for her next project.

I couldn’t put this book down!! I’m not typically a contemporary romance reader but when I saw the title, the cover (yes I judge a book by its cover!), and read the blurb I REALLY wanted to read it!! Finished it in just a few days!

The MMC, Luke, had green flag energy the entire book which I loved! He was sweet, always there to catch the FMC, Liv, when she inevitably tripped, all while being sexy as hell and saying things that would give any girl butterflies!

The book was a slow burn romance with dual point of views. The small town charm was super cute and made a bed and breakfast spot on Lovers Lake sound like a dream vacation! Adding a pushy and ride or die best friend and a gay brother who all the women love really helped me fall in love with the story!

Falling stars and whispering “Make a wish”, had this reader falling for the book! Very cute read!

This is the perfect summer romance book! Before I fell in love with our leading couple Liv and Luke, I fell in love with the friendship between Liv + Viv! They are lifetime best friends and business partners. This book follows ambitious, caring and hard working Liv who has created a full life and needs a little break to reset. So enter the girls trip away for some much need R & R in the idyllic Maple Cove! The heat is felt as soon as Liv and Luke connect. This book gave me all the great feels a romance cozy book should! The banter & heat had me giggling and blushing! While considered a slow burn… it had a good pace to keep me engaged and wanting more. The small town community made me fall in love with Maple Cove. I want to go back to Maple Cove again one day!

I absolutely loved this book.

I don’t know where to start: Luke and Liv, Liv and Viv, Sunny the cat….

Liv our FMC sees Luke our MMC at a coffee shop in NYC. They literally have a falling meet cute that ends up creating the cutest nickname for Liv.

Serendipitously, Liv, Viv her BFF, and Sunny end up at Luke’s bed and breakfast 7 hours away in Maple Cove.

Here we meet the town and the town’s people. The supporting characters are kind, sweet and genuine. Josh, Luke’s cousin, had me laughing and wanting to hug him throughout the book.

We follow Liv while she slowly rebuilds her self and her self esteem. She’s vulnerable in a way that many people can relate to and understand.

Luke also has his own journey with self doubts and his family loyalty.

This book has everything: banter, witty one liners, excellent side characters and a beautiful love story.

I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of Nothing Serious, and I'm so glad I did. This was one of those books that had me saying, "Just one more chapter," until I realized I'd finished the whole thing.

I laughed, I teared up, and I was completely rooting for Liv the entire time. She felt like someone you could actually know, which made it easy to get wrapped up in her story. The mix of humor, emotion, and romance was just right, and it left me feeling happy when I turned the last page.

Without giving anything away, I'll just say this book was exactly the kind of read I needed. It was sweet, funny, emotional, and left me feeling good at the end. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance, and I'll be looking for more books by this author.

4.5 - 4.75 stars!

Nothing Serious is a fun and flirty contemporary romance that dives into fear of abandonment from both FMC and MMC.

The story follows Liv and her BFF Viv to a small lake town outside of NYC. They go looking to decompress from their busy lives of owning a business, but what Liv finds might just be a bit more...

I thoroughly enjoyed this read. It felt fresh and new and unlike any other romance I've read lately. It was fun to have both POVs throughout the story. Both main characters BFFs really added value throughout.

I do wish there was more to the romance toward the end of the book. It felt almost cliff-hanger-ish - which makes me hopeful she's writing more of this story. Overall, it was a great read that I couldn't put down!

The story starts with a chance encounter in a coffee shop with a handsome stranger, only for her to later end up at his family’s bed and breakfast completely by coincidence. From there, the sparks start flying.

There were a lot of promising elements in this story, and I really liked the setup, the cozy atmosphere, and the chemistry between the characters. I did find myself wanting a little more detail in certain parts, especially as the story progressed. I also would have loved to feel a stronger emotional connection between the characters toward the end.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read with a sweet premise and plenty of potential. Thank you to the author for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Hands down my fav rom com of all time. These characters were SO relatable, I felt like I was truly experiencing everything alongside them! I miss them! Is that weird???

Apart from the fact that this was a fantastic, realistic and NOT CHEESY love story, what impressed me most was the creativity for which it was written. Font selections were intentional, long conversations flowed in a way that created an incredible visual of the budding of deep relationships (think movie montage but written form, like how??) and the depictions of a mother-daughter bond was a wonderful reminder to be present and LOVE the ones you care for most.

Could. Not. Get. Enough. And. Want. More. This will be a forever rec from me.

The fun banter between friends, the building tension between new lovers, the seriousness of family issues. Every emotion was felt while reading. I laughed, cried, and felt pure joy like Liv and Luke were my longtime friends.

Short chapters made this an easy read and hard to put down! The different point of views between the main characters also made you want to just keep reading to find out what happens next.

🌸**Sharing an honest review in exchange for an ARC—many thanks to Britt Blossom & team!**🌸

This sweet, swoony romcom was just what I needed this summer! Britt B knocked it out of the park with relatable characters, fun dialogue, and a setting that really takes you there. I was picturing Maple Cove as somewhere similar to Stars Hollow, with cast of quirky side characters, and a feeling of warmth and comfort. Descriptions of places and people were vivid enough without being overwritten. And there was a great balance of laugh-out-loud moments and real, raw emotional outpouring. So although parts of this felt perhaps a touch “Hallmarky,” this little world has so much potential for an interconnected series experience, and I am so here for it!!
I can’t wait to see where Liv & Viv go next!

This was the perfect rainy day read!

This book follows Liv and Luke. Liv is a city girl who goes on vacation with her best friend and Luke is the small town guy that helps his family run the bed & breakfast they are staying at.

The romance between the two was perfect! Nothing happened out of nowhere that left you wondering if that would actually really happen. I loved the friendships the two main characters developed not only with each other, but with side characters as well. The pace of the book kept me engaged the entire time. I finished this book in a little over 24 hours easily!

I received an advanced copy of Nothing Serious by the author. Nothing Serious by Britt Blossom ended up being the perfect end of summer romance. First off, the cover is gorgeous, and the colors grabbed my attention immediately and set the tone for the book!
The story is sweet and funny, with just the right touch of emotion woven in. Britt Blossom has such a talent for creating characters who feel like real people. The kind you could easily be friends with or run into at your local coffee shop or grocery store. The chemistry between the leads is playful and believable, with just enough tension to keep you turning the pages.
There is so much heart in this book, but the banter is what really made it shine for me. She truly delivered with this one.

If you’re a fan of casual relationships that slowly turn into something much deeper, Nothing Serious is a fun, flirty romance with plenty of chemistry and heart.

The banter between the main characters kept me smiling, and I loved watching their emotional walls come down as “nothing serious” became impossible to ignore. While the romance delivers the tension and swoony moments you’d expect, it’s the character growth and vulnerability that made this story stand out for me.

The pacing was easy to settle into, making it the perfect weekend read. There were moments that had me laughing, moments that tugged at my heart, and an ending that left me with a smile.
Drink Pairing: A French 75—light, bubbly, and a little sophisticated, just like the playful chemistry between the characters.

Thank you for letting me be an ARC reader 💗

“It’s like being struck by lightning for a second time”✨

Nothing Serious follows Liv, an aspiring entrepreneur, and city girl, who is focused on getting ahead in her business while her love life sits in neutral. Spinning her wheels and being looked over for a big client that could really bring her marketing business to the next level has her feeling imposter syndrome and shame creep in. Her bestie and business partner, Viv, stake an intervention and forces Liv to take a much needed break staying at a quaint and cozy Airbnb in small town, Maple Cove.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Britt Blossom’s debut novel, Nothing Serious, and experiencing Maple Cove firsthand in all its small town charm. This story gave me big city marketing girl meets small town, hard working heartthrob vibes. Reading this felt like settling in for the perfect summer read or wrapping up in a cozy blanket and sitting by a window or on a dock 😅 IYKYK

What I wasn’t expecting was to full out sob at the final chapters. Not only is this story funny and heartwarming, it’s also heartbreakingly beautiful and healed me in a way I can’t explain. So, thank you, Britt, for writing what was on your heart and this story with these characters we now know and love and root
