This series is great!
It has many twists and turns. The way Melissa and Logan met is fraught with anticipation. (Spoiler alert!). I couldn't understand why Logan, and even Melissa, so readily accepted the lie that Delilah James told about the baby. Why weren't they suspicious? Why didn't they question her story? Why didn't they ask for a DNA test? It is only when you know more about Logan's story that you begin to know why. I figured it out as soon as I read it. Fortunately, events happen before the relationship between Logan and Melissa is derailed.
There are some sub-stories that I would have been completed, mainly that of Melissa's best friend, Stacia. That could be a book in itself.

Dear Ava,
Ah, Ava. I (typically) love your writing. Why did you have to make the characters of The Beautiful Surrender so lackluster? Your characters usually jump out of the page into my bedroom; but Melissa and Logan refused to budge from their pages, leaving me dragging from page to page. I think the only character I even came close to picturing in my mind was Jason. And he so wasn't a main character.
I could have maybe given the book a B rating, but I found the plot pretty dull as well. I hate to say it, because I know writing a book takes a lot of time and energy; but this one just didn't do much of anything for me. Maybe my problem was that I read your "Billionaire" series with Leila and Jacob before I read The Beautiful Surrender. Those guys and their stories are a pretty hard act to follow. I did like that you wrote from each of the main characters' perspectives. It helped me to understand them a little bit more than it would have, had you not written them as such.
One thing about the book did make me happy. It came to me complete, not in parts to be read over a few weeks. I was able to read the whole thing at my leisure, thus making it easy to follow. This book really only had one cliffhanger, unlike most of your other books. I was very happy to be able to continue reading when I read it, without being stranded waiting for the next part to be published.
I'd also like to say that one thing I really like about your writing is that your female characters aren't made to fit society's standards, yet their men still love them. Their body's don't fit a certain mold; their characters have flaws; but the men in their lives find them attractive and desirable. What woman doesn't want her man to love her just the way she is?!
I'm really sorry I was unable to give The Beautiful Surrender five stars. I really wanted to. Maybe I will be able to next time. Keep writing, Ava! I look forward to your next one.

This was such a great read for me. Ava Claire has woven a spellbinding world for her characters to live and grow in. When this story starts, Melissa Foster has just been dumped by the man she thought she would share her life with,,,,Jason. She takes the getaway she had planned for them by herself and runs smack into the most gorgeous man she has ever laid eyes on....Logan Mason....who happens to be the owner of her rental property. Logan is the quintessential dominant male..and lets her know from the very first that she will beg him to take her. Melissa is both fascinated and put off by Logan...making you wonder if these two are really ever going to get together...Logan reveals things to Melissa about herself that she doesn't truly understand but comes to believe are true . As the attraction grows between these two, so do the secrets and problems that plague their everyday lives....their exes and their pasts...all come forth to add to the drama. The real question is...are they strong enough, will they trust each other enough to be the couple they both seem to want or will they let the past dictate their future happiness??

This is Melissa's and Logan's story. Her initial sighting of Logan was in the private outdoor shower of the cottage she was renting...
"this man was over 6 feet of tight golden muscle...lust pooling in my panties... If his backside was this delicious, I could only imagine how-"
And that was only on chapter 2. Phew! This is going to be a scorcher.
This is a beautifully written love story with some tragedies mixed in. Logan is damaged from life with his biological mother but healed a little from the love of Rose, his amazing foster mother. He and Melissa travel some rocky roads. In the bedroom it's always smooth sailing with plenty of sizzling HOT sex. Melissa acknowledges his damaged soul and is always there to soothe the savage beast. I really had my doubts as to whether she would return after the few times she left him. And Delilah, well you're just going to have to read what that poor excuse for a woman does to Logan.
The emotions are real and strong and I loved every moment spent in the Beautiful Surrender series. I can't wait to see what's next for this extremely talented author.

Melissa wants something more in her sex life but her boyfriend Jason doesn't feel comfortable giving her what she needs so she adjusts for him. Just as she makes a big romantic gesture, he dumps her. She wisely goes away for the weekend, the weekend she planned for the two of them. I need to say that I love Melissa and her ability to just say what is in her head without a filter … hilarious! When she arrives at her destination she gets the best greeting possible from the landlord Logan Mason. From here the sparks begin and we get pulled into a new and exciting relationship. As Melissa and Logan move forward, all kinds of twists and turns are thrown in their way. Can Melissa accept that she is a submissive? Will Logan's past relationships ruin any chance at a future? Will Logan truly let Melissa in or keep his walls up? Ava Claire delivers again with a new duo that pulls you in and leaves you wanting more.

Author Ava Claire has brought forth these two amazing characters Melissa and Logan in the most awesome of ways. The sweet and sultry, dynamic duo are far better together than apart when meeting for the first time looks as they say can be deceiving but the sultriness of the unspoken words are the hottest of hot.
The sex between Melissa and Logan goes beyond steaminess.
You have to pick up this series if not only to get to know Melissa and Logan but for the pureness of wanting to get the ice-cream out on a cool day cause this couple will bring you a hotness within yourself that goes beyond.

I loved Logan and Melissa. She wasn't a pushover, or whiny like some heroines. She was strong and didn't have a problem saying what she wanted. In return, Logan was a hot alpha male. He was domineering and caring all at the same time. They had a few ups and downs but managed to stand by each other in the end. I would love a follow-up to their story like with Jacob and Leila.

Hott characters... hott plot... and the writing was awesome. I loved being sucked into their lives. I loved that they didn't play games with what they wanted and it was very good. I am glad the author allowed me to read and review this series for her. I love this writers style of writing. Amazing
