Thomas Kozlowski, the not-so-easily impressed acting professor, can’t get his hot new college freshman Justin Brady out of his head. Sexy bod, killer smile and a taste for taking charge, this cocky nineteen-year-old is Thom’s forbidden fantasy.
The professor wants a lesson in getting owned, and the strapping young freshman is all too eager to give it.

Really loved this one. Daryl has such a gift at/with character development it feels as if you've known them all a long. Freshman, Justin Brady, has to be my favorite so far.
As with the rest of the Brazen Boys novellas if you aren't in to reading m/m romances you should instead read Beautiful Dead by Daryl Banner.
Daryl always manages to make me laugh and with a line like this "Even his hair's cocky, swept up into a proud little tuft in the front" within the book its no surprising that he makes me laugh out loud.
It centers around Thomas Kozlowski, an acting professor and his 100 level course. Hes bitter, cynical and refuses to let anyone get an easy A. Naturally the cocky easy going, good looking boy who always sits in the back row spends, as much time getting on his nerves as much as Thomas fantasizes about him. Thomas is a control freak and is given many chances to just let go, will he ever take advantage of these opportunities? Will he allow himself to get owned?
I thoroughly enjoy his writing style, its easy going and a great way to spend my time. These books are as always too short for my liking but I'll take what I can get.
I like the way the story concluded, I wont spoiler, but I will say it wasn't how I thought things would play out but I'm kinda glad they did. Now of course I just want to know what happen next in the story. Most likely I'll just have to make do with the next Brazen Boy story when I get my hands on it.
The thing I love most about these is Daryl’s ability to have you cracking up while getting you all hot and bothered at the same time. Fun, witty, sexy as hell - it’s all those things along with the thing that makes Daryl’s romances a cut above the rest: depth. I can’t wait for the next!
Daryl Banner should always write books about dominance. I love his alpha male characters. It works so well in this story of the dominant 18 year old college student who controls his acting professor. He also has a way of bringing a sweetness to the story that I like.
Owed By The Freshman is a standalone m/m novella told from the POV of Professor Thomas Kozlowski.
Thom, the youngest professor, is teaching the basic freshman acting class. He has a student name Justin Brady. He’s muscular and beautiful and he knows it. Thom considers him “a cocky sh!t.” Thom is kind of a control freak, everything in its place with a part for everything/one. Justin makes a play of dominance towards Thom. It might just be what this control freak needs.
Without giving the story away, I enjoyed Thom’s realization on what he really needed in his life. The scenes with Thom and Justin were hot. I thought the scene with Thom and _____ was hotter. While I really enjoyed and like the story, my own baggage came with me giving a déjà vu feeling. While my situation was slightly different, it didn’t give me an overall negative feeling of the book. 4 sexy stars
Book #3 in the Brazen Boys series is more college hotness with a lot of humor. A theater class...a cocky sex-god...a lonely, horny professor...dynamite combination for some classroom antics that will spill out of the campus and into dangerous territory. Loved it as much as the first books and can't wait to see what else is on the horizon from this writer.
Cocky freshman. Intimidating acting professor. Degradingly good time. Poor 'Teach' doesn't know what to do when cocky (hot) freshman Justin starts invading his fantasies. Unbeknownst to him, Justin has some private lessons of his own to teach. Great ending!
In my opinion, this is the farthest this author has went into the direction of depraved erotica. It isn't taboo by my definition, but it deals with the idea of being dominated and even shamed somewhat for sexual pleasure. Also it has the student/teacher element.
Thom is an angry, bitter, hateful, controlling college professor. He finds fault in everything and can't seem to feel happiness or fulfillment in anything. All it takes is one sexy, confident student taking charge of him to change his entire outlook. I love everything this author writes. He has the best way with words; although, this plot was not my favorite by him. I do think it will be a favorite for many.
Although, the book is about the act of following through with a sexual fantasy, I believe the point is to not dwell on the negative, but rather to take a chance when opportunities arise in life.
The Brazen Boys Series is a M/M novella series. Each story is self contained. I read the three novellas in order. Books 1 and 2 I really liked. They were hot. There was tension, but it wasn't overpowering. Book 1 was very entertaining because the "jock" was a very in control and the "nerd" was so into him he couldn't stop, but the revelation at the end made it worthwhile. Book 2 was just as good as book 1 and I find myself hoping if Daryl decides to revisit and expand the Brazen Boys' stories, he'll choose book 2.Book 3 was okay, not my favorite, but not bad either. It just wasn't a particular theme I cared for with this type of story and I was left confused as to if the freshman was really someone else pretending to be a freshman. All 3 books are a quick, hot read and leave you satisfied, for the most part. They aren't heavy on plot, but there is enough to make the characters come to life as more than just something to titillate your fantasies. I'll be reading more as the series continues.
As usual, I'm impressed and inspired by author Daryl Banner's creative use of metaphors. This is probably one of my favorites that he's written. Page after page, I found myself highlighting clever descriptions and dialogue on my Kindle so I could read them again later.
In this story, our protagonist Professor Kozlowski says he's not an easy A. I'm not an easy A either, and I rarely give a book 5 stars. But I am an easy B, and I liberally hand out 4 star ratings if the author seems to genuinely believe in the characters, which I felt Mr. Banner did.
The characters were vivid, which I've come to expect from Brazen Boys books. There's a strong sense of metamorphosis, of power struggles and learning to let go, which is a common theme in the Brazen world.
Mr. Banner is one of my favorite discoveries in the M/M genre and I want to support his talent. His work always feels polished, and even when he's describing something downright kinky and obscene, he manages to deliver it in a way that feels thoughtful and mature.
As anticipated Daryl Banner has released another fun, sexy, original story.
In this third book in the Brazen Boys series Thomas Kozlowski is a tough drama professor who has been lusting after Justin Brady, his very young, attractive and cocky nineteen year old freshman student. When Justin fails an assignment he requests private lessons to which the Professor is hesitant to agree to but unable to deny the very dominant Justin. As you can imagine the private lesson leads to a very steamy encounter. Daryl Banner isn't done there however, he surprises us with an unexpected twist at the end and saves the best for last.
I can't get enough of Daryl books and can't wait for more. You should definitely check out this series!
Thom is hoping that hot young Justin Brady is going to be his star student (in more ways than 1) but sadly his hopes are not met.
Thom is a strict and uncaring teacher but its not until Justin asks for private lessons that you see Thom let go a bit. During the private lessons, the roles are reversed....Justin becomes the master!!! I loved that Justin taught Thom a very good life lesson enabling him to grow in his personal life.
I laughed at the (self molesting!!) bit where Thom was thinking on Justin saying 'I own you'...a hot moment!!
Dog Tags is the next Brazen Boys to be released, and I cannot wait!
I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review.
The how not simple Daryl's books are always amazes me... Its never a quick story with hot sex scenes and something to pass your time...no no he can never make simple books and i am so damn glad about that. His writing is complex and it always gives you food for thought. Yes the sex scenes are damn hot and the writing is excellent and the characters well developed but always there is something left for you to think in the end.
I love Daryl Banner and his outside the box thinking
What an awesome story of discovery and enlightenment. Finding yourself after you've lost your spark. Daryl always thinks outside the box with his Brazen Boys books. Hot, sexy and full of discovery, I loved this book the best.
I love Daryl's Brazen Boys so much that I can't wait to read Dog Tags, #4 in the series. In Owned By The Freshman we witness the explosive encounter between a horny theater teacher and a cocky dominant freshman...
Slightly uncomfortable for me. I didn't love being in the professor's head for this one. It's kinky though. Primarily humiliation kink. Recommend if that's your thing.
Eh, this was just ok for me, compared to the previous few I had read.
Thom was an alright character, and its like the usual character studies in some of the previous books : uptight, always needing control and not knowing how to let loose. And Justin is the cocky fodder than teachers Thom how to. I did't really connect to either of them, especially not the cocky asshole Justin. Unlike the other opposite characters in the previous ones I read, Justin just came across as a spoilt, cocky asshole who just wants a one-up on Thom, and not really teaching him how to let loose his control.
And that sudden unexpected scene with Jeff came totally out of left field for me, and I cannot say for sure whether I was pleasantly or unpleasantly surprised by it.
All in all this one kinda missed the mark for me, in an otherwise pretty good series. Maybe I need a break from it before coming back to it.
This is, so far, the best in the series. It is also the most wanton and feels like it could be the first section in a longer work chronicling the sexual escapades of an increasingly libertine professor. The fact that short run time is broken up between two encounters, each with a different lover, prevents either from becoming stale or overbearing and by the end I wanted to see what would happen next.
If your not into M/M books then you may not want to read the Brazen Boys.
Like always with Daryls words, you will get the funny and the hot all wrapped up in one. This is no exception. You will laugh and you will most likely get hot and bothered. Daryl has a way with his words that pull you in no matter the length of his story. Another great quick read.
Thom and Justin Bailey. Cranky, angry professor learns to lighten up, look around him, and enjoy life. It amazes me that Banner is able to write emotional depth, life lessons, and relatable characters into a taboo erotica novella. This is not a romance, but a coming of age story about a college professor. Well done. A, maybe re-read
A 114-page novella about a grumpy theatre professor with a mean reputation gets a lesson of letting go and being owned by someone else. A 19 year old student takes control to get what he wants, not knowing he learned a lesson of being owned as well. MVP to the coworker and the scene in the office near the end... damn!
