Re-Read: I LOVE THIS SERIES WITH ALL OF MY HEART. This is definitely a stand out in the series for me! We finally get to see more from different students & the sports festival is just so fun to read about.

First time reading thoughts: I left volume 2 of this series unsure if I should keep reading this series, but THIS CHANGED MY MIND. I loved this so much more than the last volume and I'm back to being trash for this series. DEKU DESERVES THE WORLD. That's all.

This is the volume where things get interesting - for those who have watched season 1 of the anime that is - since here we reach the point where the anime stopped and get to know how to story goes on. I was super excited to know how things will turn out, how the members of class 1-A are developing. To my surprise lots of declaration of rivalry happened but at the same time it makes me happy since this will create the opportunity to get to know them better, in deeper depth.
I won't say more, not wanting to spoil anything. But if you liked the previous two volumes you will like this one too.

The story and the characters continue to grow and evolve, and I’m really enjoying the ride even though the book follows all the typical shonen manga tropes — this time, there’s a strength tournament! How original. And yet the action is fun, the characters are likable (mostly), and so I really don’t mind the book playing in the familiar territory for now.

First big battle with the League and then right into the Sports Festival. This is easily the strongest, most exciting storyline to come out of the mangas yet. The intro was good, of course, but when it comes right down to it, the meat is in the battles.

Of course, the next volume will have the round-robin matches and I already know what happens THERE. Oh lordy, it's gonna be GOOD. :)

Finally...finally back into this manga!
I left myself on such a cliffhanger with volume 2 (I had to reread the last couple chapters just to catch myself up).

I am so interested in the League of Villains. What is their true purpose? Is it really just to kill All Might?

And then the story becomes all about this U.A. Sports Festival. Every event was able to spotlight more characters, which I liked.
I was very impressed that Midoriya didn’t even need to use his Quirk at all in the first event (granted that may have been the only event he participated in if he had).

I am definitely not waiting as long as I did before to read the next volume!

Well, I've nothing against Shonen, but a story based only on fights isn't really interesting in my opinion. The strong point of manga for me is character development, leading me to be involved in the stories and caring about each hero. The 1st volume had enough potential, but the characterization is still very flat at vol 3. I don't care about the characters and about what is happening to them. There are other good manga out there so I'll stop this one here.

So here is why this story is so well put together in my opinion.

1. the story is significantly more complex that it emerged in the first 2 volumes. Volume 1 really presented our main characters and their interactions; and the power of sheer will. Volume 2 already conveyed a super complicated dynamic between the heroes and the villains in which the youngsters are thrown into. Sure, there are still conflicts and interesting relationships in the classroom yet the powerful aspect is that young heroes are stretched to their limits since the very beginning. And they are not expected to win alone - so much that they do not unlike many other manga stories - yet they provide extremely valuable support and skills to the adult heroes.

2. The comics are FULL of details. I was casually reading One Piece (and I will be delighting myself with that story as well) which is an absolute deserved success in terms of characters, story, world building, yet the comics are much simpler. Instead in My Hero Academia every single page delivers a lot of content that goes well beyond the average of my (limited) manga experience.

I cannot wait to delve into #4 - if the volume will be delivered to me in the next days. Yet, I bought the all the published volumes available so far (10).

Ako citas da ubijes vreme onda je dosta zabavno. Ako pokusas da sve stavis u celinu onda nekako propada.
Ali opet je nekako interesantno, ima originalnih momentata pa drzi paznju.

I'm actually really enjoying the pace of the manga! The anime, which I love with my whole heart, brings the manga and its action sequences to life (hello! the All Might fight scene in the USJ stadium was so cool in the anime!) but the anime can drag sometimes.

Really looking forward to reading more so I'm up to date. 👀

These villains are freaking scary, but I gotta say these teens have guts to stand up to and fight them toe to toe—I’m not sure I’d be so brave if I was in their shoes! I’m also a huge sucker for the trope of “unlikely team-ups to avoid dying and we become friends through it all” and this situation had that in spades it was so good! (though not everyone is friends yet but they’re getting there and that’s what counts, heehee)

Then we move to the beginning of the sports festival and, yikes, are they trying to kill these teens before the villains can get to them?!?! Because it sure seems like it! And Deku using his brains to get ahead was super clever and shows how no one should underestimate him. There’s also a new spotlight character Todoroki who is giving off serious Zuko vibes and I’m so here for it and to learn more about him because I have a feeling he’s going to become a favorite character for me.

This series is really intense but also has funny moments and great characters (at least so far) and I’m really looking forward to continuing!

This series never disappoints!! I love this story and the characters so much. It’s so fast paced and just fun while also having so much heart. My inner love for all things superheroes just can’t get enough of this. The sports festival was one of my fave arcs in the show so I’m excited to read more of that in the next volume!

Another wonderful volume. I don't really know what else to say until I get to a volume that's not covered in the anime. Just pick up this series. It's fantastic.

Better than the last volume. Kohei Horikoshi knows how to draw, considering this is just the third volume I'm sure he drew even better in later volumes.
