***This sizzling bear shifter paranormal romance is the newest serial from Ivy Sinclair. Installments are serial (not novel) length and contain swoonworthy cliffhangers.****
When the alpha claim of the Greyelf bear shifters goes up for grabs, news reporter Maren Lene is ready to capture what is sure to be the story of the decade. She’s confident she can maintain a professional distance from the man with the solidest claim to be the new alpha, who once also happened to break her heart.
Lukas Kasper thought he escaped his troubled youth in Greyelf, although the scars remain. When his older brother, the alpha of the Greyelf Bear Clan, dies unexpectedly everyone expects that he will rescind his alpha claim. But what Lukas wants is to find out the truth about his brother’s death.
Lukas arrives home he finds himself the center of town gossip and front page news for the Greyelf Gazette. All the attention and hostility directed at him seems to be originating from a single source: Maren Lene, the girl he let get away. Soon sparks fly between Lukas and Maren, but Lukas needs Maren’s help to find the truth. Along the way, he begins to realize there might be more than one reason to stay in Greyelf and lay claim to what has always rightfully belonged to him.

I really enjoyed this short story. The writing is well done and engaging. The characters are realistic and enjoyable. It was a little info dump heavy in places to start. My biggest issue is that this ends in a huge cliffhanger. There is no complete story arch, no end.
I liked this novella so much, I'm wondering why there any more like it. 76 pages is perfect, with enough time to tell a good story and it's ok to leave it with more to come, because 75 isn't a big commitment. It's more episodic, more tune in next time to lean more about Maren and Lukas and what makes next.
This is the start of the story between the characters. This is a well written story with great characters. This part of the story has a happy ending but as I have said it is only the start of this love story. I think you will enjoy this one.
This is a very interesting story, I really enjoy reading shifter stories and Marin and Lukas’s story is something else, they had to deal with with his brother’s death and he has to dealing with a challenge from the sheriff as well as the community!
A BEAR OF A REPUTATION is the birth of a captivating series that promises the reader an exceptional reading experience. Ivy's writing talent lures the reader into the story leaving you wanting more.
Characters are unique and engaging: Lukas; gorgeous, charismatic, sexy, powerful, intelligent; underestimating him is very dangerous. Maren; journalist, sexy, audacious, and beautiful. Sheriff Monroe; a power hungry pompous fool. The story is filled with suspense, banter, tension, hot romance, and mystery.
Markus Kasper, Alpha of Greyelf Grizzly Clan is dead- the week before the Summit Meeting. Accident or Murder?? time will tell.
Lukas Kasper, brother of the deceased Alpha returns to town after 10 years to attend his funeral. Lukas asks his x-girlfriend Maren a journalist, to help him prove that his brother was murdered. He broke her heart by leaving town the day after he took her virginity. Lukas always had a short fuse, was always disobedient and when Markus saw Lukas sneaking back into his room the night of his escapade with Maren-he sent him packing. Sheriff Monroe challenges Lukas for the ALPHA position the clan way. Lukas may have left home as a boy but he returned as an ALPHA prepared to claim EVERYTHING that belongs to him-Lukas requests that Maren watch the fight only as an quiet observer, but he does not verbalize that the fight could end in a DEATH. Huge Surprise. Great Story! Can't wait for the next book. {I received an arc for First Bite for an honest review}.
I really enjoyed the first part of this series. Poor Meren. She loved Lukas so much as a child and teenager. She was always there for him and he disappeared with no explanation after she had sex with him. When his brother dies, he comes back to town after ten years. He wants her to fall back into that earlier role but Meren is not interested in all that pain. She is trying to build her life and is working as a reporter on her dad's newspaper that covers all things about the shifter community. Lukas is hard to resist and makes it difficult for her to keep her promise to stay away. The ending is quite a cliffhanger and I will be back to check it out. I like Meren a lot for wanting to be strong and not repeat her mistakes. Lukas is harder to figure out at this point. I read the story as part of the First Bite Anthology. I was sent a free copy in return for a honest review.
In A Bear of a Reputation we meet Maren. A woman who was brought to Greyelf as a child when the shifters first were revealed and ultimately as an adult has returned after college to work with her father on the paper.
Lukas is a Grizzly shifter who back in school was Maren's closest friend. However he was a bad boy and a player. But for the two of them there are a lot of things unresolved. When his brother's death brings him back to Greyelf after 10 years. Things have changed and there is a lot more going on than anyone knows.
This is the first in a four part series on how Lukas and Maren handle everything including each other.
Kindle unlimited series. Not a standalone book. He returns after 10 year because of his brother's death. He was her best friend and the boy she loved. He left her after graduation and taking her virginity....Now he wants her help. Can she put the past behind them to get the story of a lifetime?
Part 1 in the series. A prominent shifter is dead, but his brother doesn't believe it was an accident. He'll do anything to find out exactly what happened.
