Billionaires in Bondage #2

The Billionaire's Ink Mistress

Rate this book
His desire for her pierces deeper than skin.

Billionaires in Bondage, Book 2

The Lawyer

Jackson Montgomery Warring never lets opposing counsel see him sweat. Juggling a dozen billionaire clients on a daily basis, he’s always perfectly prepared, calm, cool and collected. Until he meets his best friend’s fiancée, the luscious Mistress L.

Now he wants a Mistress for himself. Badly. Except the one who’s caught his eye is his complete opposite—a Goth-booted, tatted and pierced priestess of the local tattoo scene.

The Inker

For over a year, Diana Temple has been too busy at her up-and-coming tattoo shop to throw one of her legendary BDSM parties. But for Jackson, she’ll make the time, especially since the slick, fancy lawyer admits he likes to watch.

The Secret

If she thought her edgy style might turn him off, she’s happy to discover she’s wrong. But when she learns his secret addiction, she might refuse to teach him a thing or two about submission.

Or maybe she’ll just punish him harder…

Warning: A rich, successful attorney in a downward spiral, a tattoo artist who happens to be a Mistress, a secret addiction and a peek at exhibitionism/voyeurism.

This book was simply brilliant. It's not often the second in a series outshines the first, this one did just that!

In my experience, it is extremely difficult to find well written femdom 'erotic' stories. Well what I call erotic. They tend to be short hardcore stories, catering to a certain fetish, or books toted as femdom but before you know it the guy is topping. This story didn't do that.

The plot wonderfully interwoven, not once did I become bored. The characters were well fleshed out, the plot well balanced, a mixture of suspense, work and play. Oh the play, be still my beating heart. These two were electric together. Diane and Jackson were electric together, I felt honoured to be taken on their journey of discovery.

I was worried around the 60% mark that conflict was going to be thrown in for the sake of conflict, which would have pissed me off, but the way it played out was a pleasant surprise. I found myself going take that Geoffrey!!

***Whips the men into shape, while bowing to Mrs Burkhart!

Though this is second in a series, I feel this story can be read as a standalone.

SUPER FAST REVIEW:
The interesting thing about this series is when you look at the covers, titles, blurbs and fact that the publisher is named Insatiable Press you probably just expect porn. However, while there are erotic elements, there’s actually a fairly decent drama story that isn’t just nothing but sex.
That all being said, I didn’t like this as much as the first book in the series. Can’t really figure out why since it mixed plot and sexiness pretty well but my feelings on this book as a whole are kinda just “eh, it’s alright”. I think maybe this one seemed a bit slower to me?
Anyway, not bad but nothing special.

I was reluctant to read this one since the first book was not my favorite thing ever, but this one was a marked improvement and a pleasant surprise. I liked this couple waaaaay more than Lilly and Donovan. The way Diana gently pushes Jackson in his kink exploration was very winsome. I’m a fan of exhibitionism/voyeurism and Jackson is a closet exhibitionist wrapped up in an angelic package complete with golden hair and eyes as blue as… Daniel Craig’s. I couldn’t get Daniel Craig out of my head, though I don’t think Jackson’s as beefy as Daniel, but whatever sometimes you just have go with the flow, y’know?

description
His flow is yummy, ammiright?

Anyhoo, Jackson is a novice who’s introduced to Diana who’s known as Priestess on the kink scene. They come from vastly different backgrounds. Diana has fought for everything she’s got including her tattoo shop, Dreaming in Ink. Jackson is a straight laced attorney from a fairly wealthy family and about as boy next door as you can get, so the chances of him forming a connection with Diana in all her tatted, cherry red haired glory should be slim to none, but he’s immediately drawn to her.

Jackson is kind of a hot mess. He’s got an amphetamine addiction so he can keep up with his brutal and somewhat self-imposed work schedule. He has no life outside of work. He’s the epitome of a drone stuck in the fast lane of the rat race until Diana enters his life and shines a light on the harsh reality of his lifestyle choices and where they will lead if he doesn’t change. I do think the addiction was miraculously cured by the magic vag, but I don’t want to read Leaving Las Vegas. I got enough depressing shit to deal with in my office on the regular so thanks for sparing me that.

 photo 18204802_zps3ptjzncg.jpg

The kink is mostly power dynamics with some spanking and exhibitionism; nothing too heavy. I wouldn't have minded a bit heavier but it was hot nonetheless. JSB puts a lot of emphasis on their connection by using dual perspectives which in turn enriched the romance.

My one quibble is completely subjective and may or may not be a problem for others and that is the decorating. I’m not sure if it’s a writing style thing because I don’t remember this in the Lady Jane series, but all the outfit descriptions, room layouts and details on the meals, I just don’t need. It doesn’t advance the story for me. I like it when it’s describing the logistics of kinky scenes, etc. but when I have to read how much the characters love or hate champagne, scotch and cherry pie a bunch of times my cup of care begins to dry out and crack.

Overall a nice femdom read with some good feels.

Get your tissue box out. I cried reading this story. Knowing that this would be a femdom story, I went in completely prepared. Or so I thought. Yes, once again I didn't read the blurb because it's Ms. Burkhart. Why read the blurb when I know I'm going to enjoy it? I did think it was going to be the next book about Donovan and Lilly. Whilst they are in this book, they are not the main characters. It is Diana Temple and Jackson Warring who are the main characters.

I loved both Diana and Jackson. Diana is a strong woman who knows what she wants. She can still be nervous because of her occupation as a tattoo artist. As we learn more about Diana, I admire her more. Her humble childhood and how she "owned" being the Queen just killed me. I cried and couldn't stop as I learned Jackson's history too. Good lord, just slit my wrists. How do these two people function? Diana is a survivor. Jackson is barely. He doesn't have mommy issues despite what it initially seems. The lawyers Ms. Burkhart builds into these two characters is truly beautiful. They may be damaged but they are still fabulous and desirable.

The BDSM is lovely. The femdom aspect has me over the moon. The D/s part has me quivering in anticipation. I like seeing an alpha male who finally finds what he has been looking for. The BDSM scenes in here may not be many but boy are they so good. There are no fancy tools. It is intimate, sensual and arousing. I'm almost put into subspace just reading it vicariously. I would sub to Diana any day if she were bisexual. This is another lovely addition to the series. I highly recommend it to femdom lovers.

I absolutely adored this spicy, sweet, emotionally charged, and a bit kinky adventure! The Billionaire’s Ink Mistress is the second book in the Billionaires in Bondage series, but do not hesitate to read it as a standalone.

Jackson is a successful lawyer, but he lives life in his office, going from client to client, file to file, day after day. He has virtually no life outside of work. He drives himself so hard he has developed an addiction to speed to stay on top of everything that needs to be completed-every single day. He’s been pushing his body’s limits. Who needs sleep or food?? It’s always one more thing that he needs to do and the pills are what gets him through.

During a business meeting with his best friend, Donovan, he meets his fiancée who he finds out also is his Mistress. He is taken aback by the strong feelings she evokes from his friend, and even more surprised by his reaction to her himself! Lilly is sharp and sees that Jackson is in need of some serious help. She calls a friend whom she believes may be able to help him.

When Jackson meets Diana everything gray in his life turns to Technicolor! Their connection is off the charts hot and you can feel the chemistry. I think that scene when they first meet was flat out my favorite in the book! Joely Sue Burkhart wrote that scene so well I was holding my breath while reading it! The attitudes, the breathing, the nuances, were just awesome!

Diana is a bit wary of Jackson but she feels the connection too. She is no stranger to addiction and knows how it can rip someone apart, so she is inclined to help her Angel. But first, she has some rules that are non-negotiable. Diana is a strong and feisty dominatrix-a tattoo artist by trade. She is very confident with what she is and what she likes. She believes she tattoos peoples’ dreams and parts of her are represented in every creation. She is covered in tats and each one has a special meaning in her life. As she begins to help Jackson with his journey to being a submissive, she confesses some of her own insecurities and painful past. That’s when she realizes Jackson is different for her. I really enjoyed her and her fresh outlook on life!

There were some super sexy beginner bdsm scenes throughout this book. The scenes are very well written and gets you feeling all tingly! They are not hard-core so don’t be afraid if this isn’t your normal cup of tea. Diana is helping Jackson realize there is more to life than just work, and you must leave some time for play too! He is so dedicated to her-and he really can’t say why-we don’t question him wanting and embracing something different than he has ever known. He is tired of the old Jackson. He just knows Diana is what he wants. I found the story to be very invigorating having a female in charge and the billionaire the submissive. I was instantly in love with Diana and Jackson and couldn’t help but root for them! The Billionaire’s Ink Mistress was a 5 star read for me. It’s the first book I've read by Joely Sue Burkhart, but I most certainly will be reading more.

This book was provided to me by The Jeep Diva for the express purpose of an honest review. The opinions and rating in this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.

If you are interested in fem/dom, really interested, not in the cheesy porn stories- but into the psychology of who gets off doing what and why. And you want it in a sexy story, not in a textbook kind of way… this is this series for you. This is a great series.
And to be honest I didn’t jump right from book 1 to book 2 immediately because … well I really liked book one but thought it covered everything there was to cover. I figured book 2 would just be a rehash of book 1. But now I see how silly that was and how little I know! In book 2 I learned that there are many different types of fem/dom relationships and kinks. And now that I get that, I am interested in jumping into book 3.
These books have been some of the best of the best in the genre.

3.5 stars Femdom h - H is workaholic and uses drugs to get manage and we learn that he has a history of poor behaviour, learned from his parents. He was a bit too weak, the h was too perfect and I didn't believe his mother's turn around at the end. The story sort of fell short somehow. I enjoyed it, just would better with more depth? Perhaps I just missed it.

This one just didn't do it for me. I couldn't connect with Jackson, his motivations were all weird and his character was inconsistent. He's meant to be a billionaire and yet he's nowhere near the top of his firm? Lawyers make crazy money but come on, non-partners wouldn't be billionaires I'm sorry, that bit made no sense. Then that whole thing with his mother: I didn't understand the weird dynamic between them at all. He made it sound as if Ellen needed him badly but once you read the story you realise she doesn't need him at all. The crisis situation, the vote or whatever, isn't even a real crisis at all, and by the end, Jackson severs ties with the firm and those people really easily.

Even weirder is that he had a fairly serious drug problem, potential depression and a terrible work-life balance - but these issues are resolved without any major effort or sacrifice on his part. One brief D/s punishment early on and then he basically changes his lifestyle overnight.

I was impressed with Diana though. Even though I did feel a bit sorry for her. Jackson had a ton of issues. It felt like a little too much for poor Diana to be dealing with when the two of them had only just met. And honestly, I didn't feel the attraction between them. It all moved too fast. They have two weekends together where she's trying him out as a potential sub then the next thing we know she's going to his work party, and then suddenly it's about love and moving cities and marriage? These two did not even go on any dates aside from the kinky stuff! Aside from kink, they had nothing in common. The relationship - if one can call it that - hardly developed at all.

The kinky scenes were well-written, if pretty tame and lacking in steam. The Priestess thing was interesting but I never really got a handle on what Diana's sexual limits and turn-ons were either. She never quite seemed to lose herself in pleasure at all, which sort of lessened the overall sense of passion.

I dunno, I think something was missing with this book. I may not continue on with Bk 3.

Joely Sue Burkhart has done it! Her books will be an automatic buy for me. As someone who isn't into the cliche type of romance but is also a femdom, her book gives me hope and the type of representation I yearn for.
The accuracy of how dommes are portrayed is beautiful. She lets you see the rawness, the soft side of dommes as opposed to what media shows about dominant women.

I tried, I tried so hard to ignore the lack of chemistry, the poor understanding of how addiction works, even the MMCs confusing introduction into BDSM.

But the gross racist stereotypes and how nonsensical the story is written was just too much. I’m so mad I spent any money on this.

There are so many better femdom options out there, leave this one alone.

Did nothing for me. I finished this as a personal mission.
The premise/setup is just dumb— yes, of course people who hate drugs & drug users and have lost a parent to addiction totally love to hang out with addicts. They know aaalll about that roller-coaster, which is why they volunteer to get on it for total strangers all the time. Very believable motivations on heroine’s part. Oh yeah.

Why does it matter that he's short, how/why is he a billionaire, how is it that I can tell you did some research yet still came up with all this fantasy bdsm shenanicrap.

Yet another pound-me-hard fdom. The saddest, ickiest, just… saddest Domme Origin story. All the secondary characters are kind of annoying. Writing quality hovers around C grade. Just, UGH2THIS.

Oh yeah, heroine’s mom was Mexican and h is described as “dusky” once. That’s it for that. Her also-fdom roommate is apparently Asian, and the extent of that is a deeply cringeworthy Author Polemic monologue re: race fetish. Awesome, thanks. Thanks for that.

What a mess. Did not enjoy.

1.0 stars— and that’s with me pretending that unbelievable roommate speech never happened.

Previously reviewed on The Good, The Bad, and The Unread:

April seems to have been a month for me to jump into series at book two. This time I had no excuse, as the first in the series has been sitting on my e-reader since the book’s release week. Being short of time, however, I decided to read the latest instalment first and go back to the previous one at a point when I have more reading time. While the books do follow on from each other, I had no problem picking up on who the characters were and how they fitted into the plot.

Jackson is an immensely successful lawyer and the best friend of the hero from the first book in the series (are lawyers in the US billionaires? Those in the UK are sometimes rich, but not to that extent as far as I know, but I digress…). All that wealth has come at a price however; Jackson has next to no social life, sleeps at his office more often than he goes home, and takes amphetamines to keep himself going far beyond when he really ought to take a break. All that and he’s not even particularly high up in the firm he works for: his mother is a senior partner, and hoping to be made controlling partner when the current incumbent retires, but Jackson wants promotion based on his own successes, not because of who he’s related to.

On a rare out-of-town visit to his old friend, Jackson is struck by how settled the man is with his new fiancé, Mistress L, and instantly blurts out ‘I want one’. At this point I seriously went off the guy. Women aren’t property, for whomever’s sake. Jackson’s friends overlook his rudeness and set out to find a suitable Mistress for him.

The prime candidate for the role, Diana, has elevated herself to a fair amount of fame on both the tattooing and BDSM scenes, although she’s taken time off from the latter to concentrate on the former. While she’s certainly tattooed and rocks the goth clothing pretty well, the synopsis also promised piercings, and there’s very little treatment of that side of her personality in this story, much to my disappointment.

Fortunately for the characters, Diana and Jackson seem well matched and she starts to introduce him to the delights of submission and spanking. Finding out that he enjoyed watching his friend have sex when the pair of them were at college and suspecting that he was as turned on by the thought of getting caught as by the voyeuristic experience, she also encourages his repressed exhibitionist side. So far, so good, but Jackson is very much rooted in his mother’s law firm, and Diana can’t move across the country to be with him because her own mother is in a care home, from which she can’t be moved. Diana can’t reduce the frequency of visits to her mother (I’d have liked to see the interaction between them to find out why, especially when Diana’s descriptions of her childhood don’t really endear her mother to me). This being a romance, the characters find a compromise that works for everyone in the end, but I really couldn’t get excited about it.

All in all, not my favourite story by this author, nor my kind of female dominant/male submissive story, but then I’m very picky about romances that include BDSM aspects, and was disappointed by the absence of piercings. I’m still going to go back and read the previous book in the series, though.

I absolutely loved this emotional femdom novel that was a sweet, love story spiced up with some deliciously kinky sex. Mix a strong, feisty tattooed mistress with a gorgeous, workaholic billionaire who keeps himself going with amphetamines and you have the perfect recipe for a fun, sexy book that you won't want to put down. The Billionaire's Ink Mistress is the second book in the Billionaires in Bondage series, but it can be read as a standalone. This is the first book I've read by this author, but I look forward to reading more.

Jackson is a successful lawyer, but for him it's all work and no play - and no sleep or food either. He relies on pills to stop himself from crashing, but he's pushing his body to the limit. When he meets his friend's Mistress, he realises there is something missing in his life. She introduces Jackson to Diana and the connection is instant. Diana is initially wary of Jackson's addiction as her father was a drug addict, but she wants to help her fallen 'Angel'.

I loved Jackson's journey into the world of submission and how Diana helped him try to beat his demons and to show him that there's more to life than work. Diana is a fabulous character - I absolutely loved her! She's strong on the outside but has her own painful history and insecurities. They were both really likable characters, and I found myself hoping they would succeed in life and love.

There were some really hot sex and spanking scenes. I liked how Diana would adopt her Priestess persona, complete with chanting and meditation, to prepare herself for a scene. Jackson was endearingly sweet, yet he managed to be super sexy at the same time. I loved this couple, and found it a refreshing change that the gorgeous billionaire was the sub in the relationship, as in BDSM novels they are usually the Dom.

Femdom novels are hit and miss for me, I rarely find one I really like, but The Billionaire's Ink Mistress was a big hit and gets five stars from me.

Although I didn't think this book was as good as Donovan/Lilly's story, it was still a great read.

This book follows Jackson, a wealthy Chicago laywer, and Diana, a tattoo artist who just happens to also be a Mistress. Jackson visits Donovan on business, meets Lilly, then decides he wants someone just like Mistress L. That's how he comes to meet Diana and they are complete opposites visually, yet they compliment each other where it counts. They begin a long-distance relationship, but it's tense.

Jackson also had an issue with taking amphetamines to keep up his energy at his high-stress law firm. He rarely sleeps, doesn't eat and hardly ever stays at his own house. Diana picks up on this pretty quickly though and she issues an ultimatum to get him off the drugs. I have to say, I respect Diana a lot. She may not be as 'classy' as Jackson and his family, but she has a big heart and cares about people.

Of course, this series is all about BDSM and Mistresses who take on submissive billionaires, so you get those elements throughout the book. But you also get the sweet side of a relationship since that's not all the book is about. I like that it all worked out in the end and that Jackson was able to reestablish a relationship with is mother, while also realizing his priorities and that his job was killing him. I wish there would have been more 'dating' that went on so that this seemed a little more realistic, like what we had in the first book. It's almost hard to believe that love developed from their limited contact and not just lust or a dependence. Regardless, I'd still recommend the book.

Though this second book in the series didn't surpass the first I think it held up pretty good. One thing that didn't entirely work for me was the instant attraction and dare I say; love between Diane and Jackson. It went to fast from complete strangers to a very strong emotional bond and I kept feeling I'd missed something.

Then just as I was starting to think things were going wonderfully well and quick for them and they were smooth-sailing towards their HEA, Burkhart throws in a plotline that had me both in emotional trepidation and cautious excitement. I feared where the plotline was going to take me and yet couldn't wait to see how this was all going to play out. I must say Iliked the way it played out and I loved that the author didn't go the "keeping secret that leads to big misunderstanding"-route.

I love this series! For me it stands out in a sea of BDSM erotic romance. Not only because it's the heroines who are the Dommes but also because of the heavily emotional storylines and the amazing writing of Joely Sue Burkhart, writing I've been a fan of since I read my first book by her.

3.5 out of 5

I need to start saying that I loved Jackson. He was the perfect combination of submissive and alpha male. On the other hand, I'm not too fond of Diana. I think she needed to have a firmer hand with him. Perhaps I was expecting a deeper exploration of the lifestyle based on the way the book started.

I had trouble with the constant changes on the POV, but in the end, it worked for the story. The book is well-written and the characters from the previous book (which I had not read) were an integral part of this installment.

I'd rate the narrator a 3 out of 5. She did a better job with the male voices than the female ones.

I hate the title but love the story. Even though the theme is BDSM, it's a sweet love story about a driven, unhappy, rich lawyer who discovers at 39 what's missing from his life. He didn't understand that in the bedroom he was submissive. He was introduced to a dominatrix who helped him explore that side of himself and in doing so began to change his life and find love. This is a quick read and the second book in a series. I found this book because I had read the first book and will probably look for the next one by this author.

I LOVED the first book.
This book ... I so much wanted to love but just ... :\ I don't know.
I don't remember too much about it - some scenes that were hot but just - a lot of it seemed so uncomfortable and with the hero using and his mom who loves him but geez does she not show it well ...

I'll probably just re-read book 1.
