This book is a technical and philosophical guide on how to achieve excellence in criminal investigations. The book is not intended to be a step by step “how-to” guide, but rather an overview of practices that have worked, and is a good source of information for new detectives and an important review for those already involved in the exciting world of criminal investigations. If one case is solved because of something learned from this book, my mission has been accomplished.
We did many things the right way. We had very talented, well-trained and experienced people. We learned to work together as a team, partnered with others and had our fair share of old fashioned good luck. In the end, we often were able to say, “CASE CLOSED!”
