I was not at all surprised that I loved this story, I love the genre. What did surprise me however was that I could not put this book down. Which was a massive problem given that I was reading during school and should have been paying attention in my classes. But oh well.
I loved both couples, the difference in their relationships was startling, and I did like that definition. If they were too similar, I would have felt like I was reading about one couple rather than two.

Amanda and Mathis had a sweet story about old flames reconnecting. I do like that even after Mathis left her, Amanda did try to get on with her life. I've seen in a few books were the heroine weeps and moans about how the love of her life left her, but none of that for Amanda! She appeared to be quite a strong character. She soldiers on despite the circumstances, and takes on new information in stride. I was saddened that she gave up her dream of writing, but it did make her seem more realistic, in that often we do have to put aside our dreams for something more important. However with her new inheritance, I'm excited to see what she will do. Mathis on the other hand, I do like him, alot. More than I should, I feel. But he does seem like underneath it all, he is a good person. Despite getting Amanda shot at. However he is trying to overcome his past, and that is something I love to see in my heroes. I'm a sucker for a redemption story.

Now, Jennifer and Philip... I wasn't as happy with this story, and yet I still loved it. Philip was quite domineering toward Jennifer, though it appeared as if that was only in the "bedroom". Jennifer almost seemed a little bit weaker than Amanda, but I do think that after a rather abrupt ending to her story, she will grow in confidence toward Philip, and hopefully not seem as meek. However. I did like their romance, it was the typical unknown identity, and oh shit I accidentally slept with the big boss, story. Only it didn't end in heartbreak before it began - Philip still wanted her. I suspect because he was intrigued by her, totally understandable.

Why not five stars? The way the stories entwined somewhat annoyed me, I was always tempted to just read one and then the other, but there was always this niggling thought in the back of my head 'what if they interact?' So I didn't, but the suspense killed me. I also wondered why Amanda's chapters were done in first person and Jennifer's were done in third. Maybe this was another way to make a distinction between the stories, but I felt it was unnecessary. Both could have been done in first or third, mainly so I wouldn't go crazy! But I digress.

5 Amazingly beautiful and equally delicious stars.

This book was given to me for my honest review by the author.

Just who is Evelyn Harper? It was a questioned that I thought about as I began reading"Engage." Evelyn Harper is an author who has a skill of crafting and combing words together in such an enchanting way that she has manged to whet my appetite.

Amanda & Mathis
In Amanda we see a woman who has abandoned her dreams of becoming a writer in order to follow the more practical path in life. With the death of Uncle Andy and the inheritance "everything she had dreamed of – which had all been pushed to one side – was suddenly within her grasp, if she was brave enough to reach out and take it."

I loved the way that the author choose to let Amanda & Mathis'story build up. The background gave more insight into both of the characters. I loved how easy and carefree their relationship seemed.

While reading though I came up with two questions which will hopefully be answered in the later books. Did Uncle Andy forbid Mathis from seeing Amanda? Why was he so scared of their relationship? While I appreciate that at 15 she might not have been able to notice this. I wanted to strangle her and ask why didn't she try harder to find out what really happened.

As much as I loved the slow build of their story in the back of my mind while reading I kept wondering what the chemistry would be like when they got together. I was not disappointed."My heart fluttered like a frightened bird being pinned down by a cat..." I felt like saying your heart and mines. "I could barely reason, my mind a blank, the only emotion I could register: blind ecstasy." OMYFREAKINGOSH!!! I thought that Jennifer & Philip's story was a bit of a scorcher but as I went along I saw how easily Amanda & Mathis could turn up the heat.

Jennifer & Philip
Loved, loved, loved their story. From the onset I could almost hear Jennifer playing at the piano getting lost in the music….seeing it wash over her as a tide washing always all the past disappointments.

At this point I realized both ladies had dreams that they had given up on. "All she knew was that the only time she felt like she understood her life, why she was there and what it all meant, was when she was playing. She didn’t have to worry that she wasn’t good enough or pretty enough or what anyone else thought about her. It was just her and the music."

Loved the chemistry between Jennifer & Philip from their first meeting. The conversation seemed to flow easily although she was lying through her teeth and he could tell. When he invited her upstairs my mouth dropped open…quick one. Still how Jennifer processed what it could have meant and threw caution to the wind…I loved that in her. She seems to be a bit of a risk taker...or rather, Philip brings out this side in her. "When you meet the right person anything is possible."

What the hell was going through her mind when Brad apologized? Totally wanted to strangle her for good measure. Here’s a guy who used to verbally and emotionally abuse you and you’re willing to just take his sappy apology without truly seeing how he is. Yes it’s new with Philip it just started and granted she doesn’t know where things stand between them but it’s better than going back to an abuser…she should have kicked Brad out right away. Still with the way things ended and left me wondering what the hell just happened with Philip...very conflicting thoughts. Did he find out Brad's her ex and that he wants her back?

At the end of it I felt as if both stories did an excellent job of whetting the appetite and scratching the surface. Can't wait to see where both stories will flow as I take a deeper dive.

Thank you to Evelyn who provided me with a copy. You have me intrigued and I can hardly wait to see how the rest of the story plays out. At first I honestly thought you were crazy for trying to merge two stories into one but it has worked. It has worked exceptionally well. Looking forward to reading your other work.

Mathis & Amanda's Story.

Amanda and Mathis meet when they were teenagers Amanda went to visit her uncle for the summer and Mathis was his apprentice . When Mathis isn't with Amanda's uncle learning his investments he is with Amanda playing in the woods. Then one day Mathis is gone and Amanda never sees him again.

Years later Amanda is an accountant and her uncle died and she has been asked to come to the will reading. After the will reading Mathis has to teach Amanda how to run the investments . that is when all the feelings come back.
Jennifer & Philip's Story.

Jennifer had a really bad past she was in an abusive relationship with her now ex Brad. she had promising future but then she turned to a lonely broken soul due to all the mental comments brad said to her . But now She is trying so hard to put the past behind her and all the negative things her ex Brad had put in her head.

Jennifer is a desk clerk at a hotel she works the night shift and she watches all the early birds and Nightingales check in. until one night she got depressed so she deiced to play the piano and she thought she was alone until after she stopped playing and someone started clapping that's is where she meets Phillip Haas.

There were some twists and turns that you don't see coming. But they go along with the plot of the story or stories I might add. In this book we will be meeting two couples that will take you to a wild journey.

We will learn how two different couples have the same issues when it comes to matters of the heart. There are so many emotions flowing throughout the stories, you will be consumed by it. The stories have a beautiful meaning, that will have you not able to put it down until you read the last page.

A beautiful book I can't wait to read the 2nd and 3rd book I'm on edge and I'm wanting to know what is going to happen next .

I would recommend this series to all my book friends and family.

This book came up as recommendation as I had previously read something similar and the lovely author Evelyn kindly offered me a free copy of the first book to read, but after reading the synopsis I just couldn't wait to read the book so download it from Amazon.

The writing style of the author was very clever, I have never read a book where their was two different story's going on in the same book that was alternating between the two stories each chapter. Each story is so gripping that you don't want skip the next chapter just continue on with the same story you want to read both.

Amanda and Mathis met when they were younger at her uncle's house, Mathis was the apprentice that the uncle was training and she was the uncle's loving niece, they spent the summer together both having there first loves, then for some reason without explanation Mathis has to go away and doesn't return. Then Amanda's uncle dies leaving her his investment portfolio with the condition she learns how to run it with Mathis as her teacher. Can they overcome their past and present and finally be together.

Jennifer and Phillip

She was working the late shift on the check in desk of the hotel, when during a quite time she decides to play the piano, in walks in Phillip who was later the normal to check in. There seems to be instant attraction between the two and Jennifer doing something so out of character agrees to accompany Phillip upstairs to carry on their conversation and things get hot and sexy between the two. Jennifer sneaks out in the morning as her shift is due to start, when she runs into one of her managers she discovers that the man who she had just spent the night with is the owner of the hotel. Phillip awakes to discover her gone but he is not willing to let her go and offers her a job as his assistant so they could carry on with what they started. They both must deal with their past before they can have a future.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book is set out a bit different than most. It was about two different couples and each chapter had a chapter regarding each couple, if you understand what I mean.
So chapter One had a chapter one for both Amanda and Mathis, and Jennifer and Philip. And it goes like this through the whole book. Both couples are totally unrelated. I quite enjoyed it though as it was like reading two books at once.
Anyway, let's start off with Amanda and Mathis. Amanda's favourite Great Uncle has died and it has thrown her into the life of her first crush and boyfriend, Mathis. Amanda still remembers her time with Mathis with fondness but when she meets him again, she finds that he seems to have changed drastically.
Jennifer and Phillip. Jennifer is working the front desk of a hotel and happens to meet Philip, a late night check in. Little does she know but Philip is about to bring a whole new change to Jennifer's personal and professional life.
Warning; there is a cliffhanger

Ok so here we have two different stories. You read them almost together to help break up the stories. Which I think works great. It's kinda like have multiple mini books grouped together. I liked it.

Ok so we have Jennifer and Phillip. There story I interesting to say the least. She had an abusive relationship where she had to ask permission before doing anything. He was very controlling. I can relate to that. My ex was like that. And now I'm happy with some one else for the last 9 years. But it was a hard thing to get away from. So I like this story.

Amanda and Mathis there story is good. They knew each other when they were young-ish. But one day he just up and left with out as much as a good bye. When her uncle passes he says in the will that Mathis will be the one to train her to run his empire. I like it. Cause it's a lost love story. But it doesn't happen with out the drama and suspense. Looking forward to reading the next part

My reading challenge for 2016 start with this book. I need to search my reading mood for 10 days? Bravo Yuni.

From my e-book reader, it wrote as 'Billionaire series'. I wonder about it. Since my very first page until the last page of the third book, I didn't see any word that share the same meaning of Billionaire. So how it starts with? But then when I saw the series in GR, I prefer this. The Engage series.

When I saw the table of content, I thought it is about two friends with their own love stories. BUT the main characters are not related at all. Why not put it into two different series?

This is an unusual read in the fact that it features two different couples, who don’t appear to be connected, with their individual stories being told in alternating chapters. I wasn’t sure about this at first but it strangely works quite well and I really enjoyed the different dynamics both stories brought.

So firstly Amanda & Mathis’ story. Amanda is just a normal accountant trying to pay her bills and make it through each day. When a close family member dies she’s devastated but is touched when she hears she’s been included in his will. Going along to the reading of the will the last thing she’s expecting to hear is that she’s been left her uncle’s life’s work and the large sum of money that accompanies it. Stunned she starts dreaming of the life she could now have – pursue the dream she’s always had but never been able to do. But there’s a catch – she has to learn how to manage what her uncle left her.

Enter Mathis, her uncle’s apprentice and the man she fell for when they were just teenagers. She hasn’t seen him in years but now she faces weeks of after hours meetings with him. But he isn’t the man she remembers – he’s cold towards her, unfeeling and acts as if their past doesn’t exist. Amanda knows that somewhere beneath the arrogant billionaire façade there’s the boy she used to know but Mathis is hiding something, something which could be fatal for both of them. Will she get through to him before it’s too late?

Now for Jennifer & Philip. Jennifer has had an abusive past but is now working in a well known hotel behind the desk. Late one night she sneaks out from behind the desk to play the piano, not knowing she has an audience. When she’s caught by a handsome stranger she couldn’t be more mortified, that was until he propositioned her. Having never done something like this before she decides to follow him upstairs, not seeing the harm in one night of passion.

The next day she sneaks out hoping to put the night behind her. But her handsome stranger has other plans. Jennifer’s life changed overnight, now spending her days flying across the globe and making a name for herself. But she can’t help but wonder – has Philip done this because of her professional skills or the ones she holds in the bedroom?

I really enjoyed both couples’ stories – each with their separate dramas and passionate tales. Both Philip and Mathis are the typical arrogant billionaire types with a tonne of secrets about their pasts. We’ve only been given a hint as what these may be and I’m intrigued to see what these boys have to hide. As for Amanda & Jennifer they’re both great leading ladies and I can’t wait to read the rest of their stories!

Evelyn HarperEvelyn HarperI was contacted by the author to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
I was a little confused when I first started reading the two different story lines, each chapter kept changing characters and stories. At times I thought it would be hard to follow and confusing but it worked, it flowed easily and it was like getting two for the price of one.
I loved the storyline and character development. While it took me a little while to enjoy Amanda and Mathias’ story, I loved it and have to know what happens next. I instantly loved Jennifer and Philip’s story until the cliff hanger at the end.

I didn’t think I would enjoy this book when I started it, I am now hooked and have to know what happens next.
It was extremely well written and both stories came together and were told beautifully.

Thanks again to Evelyn Harper for contacting me and giving me the opportunity to read this story.
Can’t wait to read more from you.

I have mixed feelings about this book, I liked it but it felt strange to have two stories in one book, I would have understood it more if there was some tie in from one book to the other but I did not find one. At first I liked Philip but as the story went on I thought he was mean and demeaning to Jennifer, especially at the end of their story. I really liked Jennifer at first except I thought it was strange she went to the hotel room so quickly with a stranger and then she was actually contemplating getting back with her ex that abused her, how quickly she could forgive and forget. It hurt my heart that it seems she always ends up with men that treat her badly.
I liked Amanda but I do not feel any real connection with her character and I don't feel I even know Mathis. This story is a little confusing I don't understand why Mathis acts like a jerk with Amanda, why is he angry with her and then he wants her and makes love to her. I also don't understand why she did not ask him about what happened all of those years ago. I have not wrapped my mind around what this story is about yet, hopefully in the nest installment we will learn more.

5 Amazing Sensual Stars

This book was given to me for my honest review by the author.

This amazing story of two different couples by far is one that is compelling and sensual that will tug at your heartstrings amongst the pages. You will be rooting for each couple to find their center within the confines of each. The sex between each couple is hotter than concrete on a hot day. The binds that each couple will have you wanting to continue to their amazing journey of each but at the same time wanting to bring out your screaming towel and wrap it around each man’s head at times but in the end the towel will be the one of holding your tears at bay and hope for an everlasting ending for each. I for one can’t wait till the next of readings between these couples.

Simply amazing and hot

Happy Reading

I quite liked how the book was written. Having two separate stories going on at once makes sure that the book will never get boring. I enjoyed Jennifer and Philip's story a bit more than I did Amanda and Mathis' story, just because I found Jennifer and Philip's story more interesting to me.
I like this kind of millionaire romance and I just have to get my hands on the next two books because of the ending in the book and especially because of how Jennifer and Philip's story ended with such a cliffhanger.
And I have to say that the only thing that made me rather pissed of was the ending just because I was so into the story and then all of a sudden it was over. But now I just to purchase the next book and I can continue reading.

All in all, this was an amazing book and totally worth the read. I loved it!

I received this free of charge by Evelyn Harper to give my True and Honest Review (thanks Evelyn)
The 'Couples' are Amanda, Mathis and Jennifer and Philip.
We see and hear the story on the female sides of what happens between them, how they meet and gotten to know and start these 2 different and amazing stories.
You're either being told about the amazing sex, the 'not knowing' where it is you stood or how they truly feel about you.
The jumping from each couple at each chapter 1st confused me but by the 2nd chapter of Jennifer and Philip you can't wait to see what's going to happen between Amanda and Mathis, vice versa and that's the way it went through the 12/24 chapters,
Which I found exciting and apprehensive.

The author introduced herself to me on Goodread and told me that I may like her books. So I was like why not, let's give it a go.

This book is two stories rolled into one book. I wasn't sure at first but I did enjoy the stories. Two completely different stories but they go together so well.

I wasn't sure about Amanda and Mathis story at first, it just took me a little while to get into the story.

Jennifer and Philips story, I loved from the start and is the reason I have brought the next 2 books in the series.

All the characters are from different backgrounds. Both stories are different but relationships is the main focus, which I love.

I would recommend this book.

Here we have Amanda and Mathias and also Jennifer and Philip. Two separate stories yet they come together in one book by switching back and forth every other chapter. It's like reading two books at once. Amanda knew Mathias for a short time when she was young. Now she needs his help with her Uncles estate. He starts off being a bit of a jerk but he warms up to her then gets shot at! Now Jennifer and Philip are quite the power couple. Philip owns hotels and Jennifer works for him. She gets promoted to be his personal assistant. Philip seams to run hot then cold and you never know what he is planning. He keeps you guessing. I enjoyed these stories and could not put this down!

"I recieved an ARC in exchange for am honest review." There's nothing like a good book full of romance, suspense & hot sex! This was a great read, I'm glad I was given the chance to read this wonderful book. I'm intrigued by Amanda & Mathis, their history makes their storyline that much juicer. Jennifer seems like shes caught between a rock & a hard place, however, if she goes back to her past I think it will back fire. On the other hand, Phillip seems like he's hiding something that could be trouble & it kinda feels like he's using her right now. I'm anxious to read the rest of their stories, it seems like its gonna be a great ride!

The book has two separate stories of girl meeting boy.
The story of Mathis and Amanda started when they met as teenagers. Now as adults will they reconnect.
The story of Jennifer and Phillip starts off as a one-night stand that turns into a boss/employee relationship with a twist.
Both stories are really good. This is part one of three. It gives you the beginning of both these relationships. Each story has its own twist leaving you wanting more. This is an excellent read. I'm looking forward to more books by Evelyn Harper.

I received a message on Goodreads from the author to try her book. After reading the synopsis I was intrigued. I so enjoy stories of love and this is a really good one. It has two different stories in it and I found it somewhat difficult going back and forth between them at first but it eventually started to flow and then I didn't mind at all. I am very excited to continue the stories and any other books she has written or will write. This was a very well written book, very detailed and it flowed very nicely. If you want a wonderful story of finding love, this is the book for you.

This is my first book I read from Evelyn. I didn't know how I would have liked reading both stories at the same time but it worked. There are so many questions with both couples. Mathis you think was an #ass at first but then you see a kinder side and Phillip was exactly how I thought he would have been until the end. I can't wait to read what will happen next

I was contacted by this author and asked to read this book because I have read some similar stories and I loved it! At first I didn't understand why one chapter was Amanda and the next was Jennifer. I thought it would be confusing trying to read about both couples but it really wasn't. I was sucked in from the very goes few pages and didnt want to stop reading! I wanted to find out what happened so bad but was left with a cliffhanger. I will definitely be reading on to find out what happens!

The author of Engage, Evelyn Harper, asked me to read her book and write a review of it. I was very impressed with how she wrote the two separate storylines and how detailed she created the back stories for all four characters. I loved both storylines and look forward to the sequel so we readers can continue to follow the lives of Jennifer, Phillip, Amanda, and Mathis. I absolutely loved this book and am looking forward to reading the next in the series. I am definitely also going to. Read many more books from this author. Her way of writing is smooth, clear and concise. Once you begin reading, you cannot put it down. It was so easy to follow both sties in the book and it actually felt like being in the story.. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good book to read. You won't be disappointed!! Happy Reading! :-)

I am so glad I got the chance to read and review this book!!! I have to say it Is one of my favorites. To completely different stories and couples but they go together so well. Both stories flow so well they just keep you wanting more. Both men are strong intense men with wealth. Both women are strong but don't realize just how strong. I absolutely can't wait to read the rest of the series!

A most! I loved the characters. They are complex and have so many layers you can't help but feel close to them. Be sure to have the whole series before you start reading or you will go crazy with the cliffhangers at the ending of book 1 and 2. I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read some of the other books Evelyn has written.

I've just finished Evelyn's debut romance and I loved it! I couldn't put it down, and when I did have to put it down, I found myself constantly thinking about the characters and extremely eager to dive back in! This book is without a doubt a compulsive read and a constant page turner, and I can't wait to read the next instalment!

The author offered me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review so here it is...
At first I was confused about the 2 completely different story lines and was expecting them to intersect at some point to support why the book was formatted that way, but that never happened. However, despite the format, I enjoyed both stories and can't wait to read what happens next.

I just finished this book and while at first the 2 different stories threw me off after chapter 2 I was hooked I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between the characters had my heart racing and the ways the two stories progressed kept me on my toes eager to see what happened next. Very steamy and exciting stories I CANT wait to read the next two books.
