When Willow Barton let her guard down one night, she never thought the sensual encounter would result in an unplanned pregnancy. But she’s an intelligent and resilient woman who’s experienced in getting through the worst of times. Still she knows that Chase Ackers, the father of her child deserves to know about the baby that their night of passion created. What she doesn’t expect is for him to want to be a part of her and their baby’s life. Major Chase Ackers is a career military man. He’s intentionally avoided any entanglements that would lead to marriage or children. Years in the Army had allowed him to witness just how hard it was to keep a family together. So he’d vowed to avoid attachments. Then he met Willow Barton. When she told him that their heated encounter had resulted in her being pregnant, his well laid out strategy went out the window. Yet, the panic he’d expected to feel never came. Instead he found himself wanting to make a relationship between him and Willow work—and not just for the sake of their baby.
This was a bland unfulfilling read, much like drinking tepid water in sweltering heat, yeah, its wet; but it doesn't quench your thirst. This is the story of a baby making one night stand between Willow Barton, an educated working class woman, and Major Chase Ackers, a career military man. There are three positive elements to the storyline of this book; 1) Willow didn't hind her pregnancy from Chase, she informed him immediately; 2) there is no ex-boyfriend, ex-girlfriend or third party drama; 3) Chase is all in and supportive of Willow and he did not question the fraternity of the baby. The long tiring chapters recalling Willow's childhood and the chapters used for Willow to exhibit and conclude that she is pregnant were a drag on the storyline. There was not enough together time between Chase and Willow to establish the loving devoted couple that the author told us existed. Did not feel the love between these characters one night of sex was follow by six months of his being in Afghanistan with the occasional video chat or text.
This Is a great first book of the series, it's emotional with sizzling passion and romance. Oh my the characters are heartwarming and their relationship is absolutely steamy hot. I enjoyed every moment of reading this story it's a delightful and entertaining first book.If you enjoy a great military romance then you will absolutely enjoy reading this book.
Athen Soldier’s Baby Surprise (For Baby’s Sake, Book 1)
What a wonderful read. The story moved with a great romantic pace with warmth and desire and true connection for the couple. I liked how the entire story all came together with parents and friends all being included in their lives.
Chase and Willow’s story is what every couple should have. The love and caring that made their relationship one of beauty. From the moment they met to the day he placed the ring on her finger will keep you reading until the last page.
This was delightful read. The book started out strong and I was a little disappointed with how the author did not allow the heroine to fully resolve her fear of abandonment and not resolving issues of her adoption even to the point of getting information about in medical issues . The heroine also had a problem with expressing her feelings and assumed a lot about what and how the hero was feeling without talking to him. I gave the book 4 stars based on her best friend who was her champion his parents and her adoptive parents who had minor roles.
I have only read a couple of books by this author and have enjoyed them. This book was no exception. As the start of a new series I enjoyed how the book set everything up and allowed for us as readers to grow with their relationship. I do feel that Chase was a little too quick to accept that the baby was his, without question. That just seems a little unrealistic.
I loved this book. Even though you know how it as going to turn out the author kept you right she want you to be. I would recommend this bok to anyone who is interested in reading an interracial romAnce book.
I love where she took this book and being the first I have read by her I was very impressed. While I did find a few errors they didn't take from the wonderful storyline or this couple's HEA. I will define reading more from Mrs Morris
