Few people know twenty-one year old Ada Fletcher is actually from another universe. After a devastating magical war tore apart her homeworld, she and her family were forced to defy the Inter-World Alliance and hide on the low-magic Earth. Stuck in a dead-end job in London, Ada has spent her life hiding her real identity and risking her safety to help others from her homeworld. Until she loses her job, is chased by a rampaging monster, and is arrested by the Alliance as a prime suspect for a murder she had nothing to do with. It really isn't Ada's day.
Kay Walker, grandson of the Alliance's late founder, expects to spend his first week as an Alliance employee chasing monsters out of the Passages between worlds, not solving his supervisor's murder or questioning a strange, fierce young woman he arrested in the Passages. Killer or not, she's hiding something, and the closer he gets to the truth, the higher the body count rises.
The last thing Ada wants is to help the infuriating Alliance guard who arrested her, but it soon becomes clear that the Alliance knows too much about Ada's magic. More, in fact, than she knows herself. Now she has to choose between loyalty to her family, and helping the Alliance save the Earth -- and the Multiverse -- from a deadly enemy.

INITIAL THOUGHTS I joined the Emma L. Adams street team, and I have promoted some of Emma's other titles on my blog too, so I thought it was about I read at least one of her books! What do I expect from the book? Well the blurb makes me really interested in reading this one, I like a strong lead kick-butt female and that description seems to fit Ada well.
MY REVIEW I received this book directly from the author as I am part of her street team "Emma's Alliance" in exchange for my honest review. The cover features a skyline view through clouds, which I think could be a scene from within the book. I won't name the specific place but when you read the book, there's a little hover boot action! So would the book cover make me want to pick the book up from a store shelf? Though the cover wouldn't immediately sell the book to me, it would make me pick it up to read the blurb, so I'd say yes the cover is doing it's job well enough. The main character and one of the points of views that the book is told from is called Ada, though that is short for a rather longer and highly significant one (once you have read the book you will know what I mean). Ada came from a planet called Enzar, her now "guardian"/mother figure Nell Fletcher, smuggled her through. Enzar is still at war and The Alliance has closed it's "doors" and will not allow anyone in or out of Enzar. The Alliance refuse to help end the war or offer help or protection to either side of it. Ada was not quite one year old when Nell smuggled her through. Ada still lives with Nell, and her "adopted" borthers Jeth, (a tech wizard and) Alber. They make up their own little family and find it hard to trust anyone outside of this inner circle. Nell and Ada run a shelter were they hide the people they smuggle through the passages that the Alliance guard. The other point of view voice is Kay, now I admit to at first thinking Kay was a female too but as I read on it became clear that Kay was in fact a male character and a newly qualified member of the Alliance guard. Kay has quite a well known and somewhat infamous surname, Walker. It is Kay's father that made the controversial and callous/cruel decision to basically cut off Enzar from the rest of the multi-verse. As I said earlier Ada doesn't trust easily, it is something that Nell has instilled in her from an early age. So the only other additional people Ada works with are Delta and Skyla. Delta helps Ada ferry people through the passages and Skyla works at the Alliance giving the people smugglers the necessary intelligence on the guard patrols of the Alliance. The people that Ada & Nell rescue often need disguises, people from different areas needed different things to give them a disguise. For example, Ada has to disguise her true eye colour with contact lenses and hair colour too. Other "refugee's" need the stronger help of more magical substances. Nell is expecting more refugee's soon and they need more "Blood Rock" to use in a special formula to disguise them Ada need's to break into the Alliance Head Quarters to steal some blood rock, which has been done before so should go really well, except that whilst Ada is stealing what she desperately needs to help people. So I do not go on and on about the plot and give away too much . . . Ada ends up being being caught by the Alliance. There has also been a murder in the Alliance Head Quarters so Ada ends up being the prime suspect. I found the book to be well written, in a pace that kept me really interested all the way through the book. I loved the kick-butt character of Ada and the almost instant chemistry between her and Kay even though they are on opposing sides when it comes to the policy about Enzar. Ada reminded me of Riley in "The Demon Trapper's" series by Jana Oliver. I also loved the character of Kay, he is newly qualified and trying to prove himself worthy as a guard in the Alliance. Which is hard going as everyone presumes he will be like his father. The setting the scene’s and place’s of the book is done really well and I think there may be many more adventures within the multi verse for Ada and Kay. So did I enjoy the book? I did really enjoy the book a lot. Would I recommend the book? Yes, I think this book is a great read, the beginning of a potentially brilliant and addictive series. Would I like to read another book in this series? Definitely yes! Would I read other books by this author? I intend to, so yes!

Once I read the blurb from Adamant I knew I had to read this. Adamant is easily my favourite book by this author, even though her other two books are also really good, Adamant is even better. It has magic, some almost sci-fi elements and an interesting story. It also has a rich world and it had me captivated from the start of the book.
Adamant has a fast paced story, with lots of build-up to the big event towards the end of the book when everything falls on it's place and makes sense. There's even some murder mystery part going on, with related murders and at the end we find out who the murderer is. There is a plot for this book and most gets resolved at the end, but there are also storylines that are set up for the whole series. Some issues where resolved a bit too easy at times, but the story went smooth and the easy solved things didn't bother me too much.
This book is told from two different point of view,s there's Kay and Ada. I was a bit confused which gender Kay was at first, but I guessed a boy, which turned out to be right. I liked how the author choose for the dual perspective of telling the story and it worked quite well, at the beginning of each chapter it is announced who's point of view it is, so I was never confused. Both are great characters, Ada was a bit too confrontational for my liking, but she had a reason to be. There was also some character development over the course of the book. Both characters have a past which continues to interfere with their current lives in a certain way. While I liked both main character there was also a nice cast of side character, I liked Ada her brothers and Markos, but there where also some less likeable characters.
The world building is magical. Even though we only get a hint of what's out there, I am already in love with this world. There is a multiverse, but while I expected this to be very sci-fi ish with portals and such, it was very down to earth with a passage system connected with tunnels. It's a rich an interesting world or should I say worlds. The main characters can't visit a lot of other worlds, so we mostly hear about those, but I am sure we'll see more of the other world in future books. The world was so interesting and I liked how the author handled the multiverse thing. Oh and the magic thing is great, magic is like a force on it's own and while some people can do magic it's not like you control it entirely. And there is a backlash, which I liked, magic use has consequences and costs and they could be seen and felt.
To conclude: I really liked Adamant, the story was fast paced and smooth. Some things where solved a bit too easy, but I enjoyed the story and wanted to keep reading. It is told from two point of views and it really worked and I liked both main characters. The world was rich and interesting and I can't wait to learn more. The world building and magic system was original and fascinating. An exciting start of a new series and I am looking forward to the future books in this series!
Right, so, I tried to do my own synopsis, but the one on GoodReads and Amazon pretty much says all that can be said and if I tried to do my own it'd be full of spoilers and would leave you with no point in reading the book!
Fair warning, at this point I'm slightly sleep deprived and really tired, so sorry if there's excessive spelling mistakes, my Mac's autocorrect is driving me nuts, and I might ramble and make no sense!
So, I'm a bit of a fan of Emma's, I got to review Darkness Watching from NetGalley a while ago, and I loved it, it was unique and so when Emma asked me if I wanted to review this, I fangirled quietly, and calmly said yes! I had expectations from this book based from her other work, and I was not disappointed!
I feel I should mention the cover by the way, it's too pretty! I want it as a poster or something! But yes...back to the review!
I started to read it as soon as I could, and I settled down and prepared to be there for a while. I knew for a fact I would have to read this book in one sitting and I wasn't wrong! As soon as I started reading, I was sucked into this alternative timeline, and this totally awesome world that the author had created! I wanted to know more about this Earth, the Multiverse and other planets, not to mention the mysterious Enzar. I'd say more about that but spoilers!
The world was vivid, and imaginative. Most of all, it's what I love best, original, unique, I love things that are a little bit different and so I immediately fell in love with this world, especially as it was so well written and so well crafted, you got a lot of information on the world historically without bogging down the narrative, and you were left satisfied, but still wanting to know more, which we hopefully will in the next few books!
I was totally absorbed into the world, not just because of the excellent world building but because of the well written, and intriguing characters. Ada....she was a mystery, I was trying to work out what she is, or more accurately where she came from. I couldn't, I ended up being pretty surprised by that plot twist, which is why I'm not going to spoil it by going on about it! Anyways, Ada, I connected to her instantly, she made me laugh, she was written larger than life, or at least she seemed that way to me. She had depth, she was intriguing, you wanted to know more about her, and it's going to be interesting to see how she gets on with her magic in the next book and where she goes with this.
Kay was another well written character, he clearly had a bad past, and you where constantly trying to take guesses at it and you wanted to know more about him and what happened, he add a nice level of intrigue, especially as little tidbits where mentioned and to be honest, the mystery nearly drove me crazy, I suck at mysteries and this book is full of them, they all get answered, and they always shock you! I did like Kay though, bless him.
I enjoyed Kay and Ada's relationship, I liked how the romance developed slowly and naturally, and it was very well done, I think they're great together, and they have a chemistry that leaps off the page. Ada doesn't trust easily at all, and you can't really blame her, she's also a total badass, and Kay is trying to do his job, while working out why people are being killed and what for.....as well as facing the truth about his father and what he did, because guys....his dad is shaaaaaadddyyyy as fudge. I liked watching her open up to him slowly, and start to trust him, and it was 50 shades of cute!
Because of these two excellently written characters, the narrative was incredibly engaging, and as it was a dual point of view from both Ada and Kay, you got a real feel for both characters, their motives and so on, and you also got to see what was going on while the other was busy rather than hearing about it second hand, not to mention see how they see each other. I loved the multi POV because it was done right. The changes where at the right moment, and most importantly we didn't get the same scene from both POV's, there may have been a little overlap, but mostly it filled in what would have been gaps and just added a great level to the story.
The plot was fascinating and intriguing, I was pretty much along for the ride because I gave up trying to work out what was going to happen next, I'm beginning to learn I'm always wrong. ALWAYS. The plot was action packed, honestly the book was like a rollercoaster, it picks you up and sweeps you along for the ride, and it's thrills and spills the entire way through, I loved it, especially as the pace fit perfectly with the book and wasn't rushed, neither was it bogged down by the information we learn. There was a perfect balance. The fight scenes where hella awesome though!
Adamant is a fantastic start to what's going to be a fun, adventurous and super cool series, it's different, it's original, it's got cool creatures, cool magic, mystery, rich background and history to the world, colourful characters, both supporting and main (I totally loved Alber and Jeth not to mention the centaur and I'm itching to know more about all 3 as well as nell), it's imaginative and it stretches your imagination out too, it's got a world so well written and brought to life you can totally lose yourself in it, and it's utterly fantastic. A strong start to the series, perfectly setting up the rest of the series but not without sacrificing the plot of this book! Can't praise it enough!
I was gifted an ARC of Adamant from the author, in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first book I've EVER read by Emma, & holly cow what an introduction!! I was qucikly thrown into a different time, an Earth where magic is a known concept & so is people from other worlds, but instead of spaceships for contact, you have a doorway into a passage of doorways... I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Ada's dreams & life, although it never seems to go as she'd planned, secrets come out & then all hell breaks lose. What can I say about Kay... he comes across at first like an absolute prick, but then you learn things about him, his kindness starts shinning through & he becomes one of those characters you can never forget. Then you put Ada & Kay together & things start to get really interesting, not in the steamy kind, although I must admit I was telling them tojust get it over with & kiss, just minutes into the book.
I enjoyed the history & magic lore told throughout the book, each planet is different, people, laws, ect.. so this changed as the planet did. The personal growth both Ada & Kay went through in this book was tremendous, learning shocking things about their pasts & about themselves in the now... learning the hard way that not all friends are trust worthy... Once I picked it up & got drawn into the story, it was all I could to do not to forget about life, unfortunately I had to work, otherwise I would have read this quicker.
The magic Emma weaved when writing 'Adament' had me transfixed to this amazingly detailed story, I can't wait to be able to read what is next for the "Alliance" series.
I've been looking forward to this ever since I saw the cover (yes, I'm superficial in that way). I wasn't disappointed.
Adamant dives into a multi-verse, magical version of Earth, one where an Alliance is in charge of keeping some sort of balance despite the passages which lead not only to other 'worlds' but plenty of monsters. I had no trouble diving into this fantastical realm and immediately sympathized with the main character, Ada. She's got a good heart and tries to do what's right. She has magic and fights well, but is not all-powerful and needs some practice. And she gets herself into tons of trouble - a great mixture of strengths and wonderful weaknesses.
In general, the world is well described and no trouble to dive into. The other characters are easy to like or hate, and the main ones are well done. What I especially enjoyed about Adamant is that unlike many books of this genre, it felt like an easy read. Although I do love stories like this, they often are heavy with descriptions, plots and way down in depth (which is usually totally fine!). But Adamant has all the necessary elements without adding the same massive load...perhaps it's due to the nice touch of humor...or perhaps it simply has more of a YA feel. Either way, I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
This book was an easy read. Just when you thought it was going one way it turns and goes another.Would love to give you more information but it would spoil the book. So yes I would recommend this book to my friends.
Sadly, DNF @56% I just lost interest and haven't gone back to it. I don't even remember the story I read so far. Way too slow. These days, I just don't have time to dwell on books now. I am moving on....
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian I Dig Good Books.
The last thing Ada needs is to be caught in the Passages. Unfortunately, thats what happened and she is now being investigated for a murder she did not commit. Kay is her arresting officier. He is fairly certain she is innocent of the murder of his supervisior, but she WAS in the Passages, and she DID steal a highly volatile product.
Interesting! Verrrra verrra interesting!
Ada is a refugee on Earth, which has a low magic field. Along with her brothers, and their guardian, they help other refugees through the Passges and settle them into life on Earth. But using the Passages between other worlds in the Multivers is illegal, says the Alliance, and its also where Ada's magic is strongest. Ada discovers along the way of the book her true heritage, her true ability and her true, deadly, potential.
Kay knows where he is from, both his home planet and his family. He works hard to distance himself from the family name and does not like to be called by Walker. His family history crosses over with Ada's, in the most dramatic way!
I really REALLY enjoyed this! Lots of magic and mayhem. Travelling between worlds. Double crossing all over the place!
The plot moves at a pace of slow, slow, fast fast slow! Just enough speed to keep you following, but the slow bits aren't bad either. It is written in the first person, from both Ada and Kay's POV. This is why it doesn't get 5 stars, I noticed it here.
It is clean, just some kissing, but it does get a bit messy fighting the wyvern and other off world creatures that are set loose in London! Ada does meet with a fist or two, as well, so I'd put if Upper Young Adult, 16+
I would like to read book two, Nemesis, to see what happens next for Ada and Kay, to see how their relationship develops, and to see what their magic can really do!
4.5 stars
**same worded review will appear on Goodreads, Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk**
I had the pleasure of beta-reading this book, and I fell in love from page 1. Emma has created a fantastic, brilliant world in ADAMANT. The world is filled with raw and authentic characters, whether they're human or centaur or something else entirely. I loved the mystery and action aspects, but I think what I loved the most was how truly unique the magic system is in this book, and how tied together magic is with the multiverse as a whole. And for what it's worth, a multiverse story can be hard to pull off. Emma does it perfectly, and jumping around between worlds is easy.
I can't wait to read the rest of the series. This book is a unique, fun read, and I'd recommend it to everyone who enjoys sci-fi and fantasy.
I'm so happy to be able to publicly review my critique partner's book! Adamant is a wildly imaginative sci-fi/fantasy mashup, but it is written in a way that feels realistic. The main characters have a rich backstory, and, since this is the first in a series, I was left interested to find out where that backstory will lead. There are some really cool elements—hover boots, magic as a weapon, other worlds connected by passages. I also enjoyed the side characters, especially Markos, Simon, Nell, Jeth and Alber. I'd recommend this book to anyone who likes sci-fi/fantasy.
This was gym reading for me, so free or cheap on the Kindle. I ONLY read it at the gym, but even taking that into account, it took me forever to finish. I read it consistently when I was at the gym, but I felt my attention constantly wandering to anything but this. The story idea was good, but it didn't feel fleshed out well enough. I freely admit that the last 25% I skimmed quite a bit because I just wanted to be done.
Actual Rating: 3.5 Stars! Same Review Also Posted In My Blog: Dreamy Addictions
This is a very interesting read! I've read books with alternate universe but I've never read books with multiple universe. So when I first read the blurb, I knew I had to read this book. Like Emma's other works, I enjoyed reading this book but to be honest, it's really not one of my favorites. I'm currently loving her Legacy of flames trilogy and I already fell in love with the first two books in it. Nevertheless, Adamant is a great start for a series. The concept of this book is very intriguing. I loved the action, the world building and also the main characters.
Twenty-one Year Old Ada Fletcher is kind of an illegal immigrant from another universe. After the war between non-magical and magical race in their homeland Enzar, Ada and her guardian Nell Fletcher escapes from there and hides in the low magic Earth even though it's against alliance rules. They currently live in London and helps refugees from their homeland by giving them safe passage, new identities and providing shelter while avoiding the alliance guards. The Inter world Alliance don't want to interfere with their war so they restricted their people from entering Earth. In order to disguise their otherworldly appearance, Ada needs bloodrock and when they finally runs out of it, she plans to break into the Alliance Headquarters to steal from them. During her mission, she gets discovered while escaping and her situation gets more complicated when she later learns that there's a murder of an Alliance employee. When she gets caught by one of the alliance guard named Kay Walker, grandson of the Alliance's late founder, she's taken to the Alliance central for interrogation. Kay believes that Ada isn't really a murderer and when the body counts of his fellow employees rises, Kay wants to know the truth and decides to help Ada despite knowing that it will jeopardize his dreams of becoming an Alliance ambassador.
Ada Fletcher is a stubborn, fiesty and Kickass character. Even though she's a likable character, sometimes she makes some stupid decisions like a silly teenager which really annoyed me a bit. I loved Kay Walker! He's caring, sweet and fun character with a good heart. I expected him to be quiet arrogant but he totally proved me wrong. The relationship between Ada and Kay is pretty interesting. Ada doesn't trust anyone easily especially people from Alliance because of her upbringing under Nell who told her since she was young that never to trust Alliance and when Kay tries to help her she doesn't believe him but eventually she starts to trust him. The Romance isn't really the major focus of this book but the story does end with a kiss which shows a beginning of their romance. The other characters like Ada's friends Skyla and Delta are okay-ish but they didn't intrigued me much. I liked Nell Fletcher! She is a motherly/sisterly figure to Ada. She is the only family Ada has left who has raised her after their escape from Enzar but she also seems to be hiding some secrets that we don't know yet.
The Plot of this book is very intriguing! It is fast paced and action packed. At the beginning, I was a bit struggled to get into the story but eventually I immersed into it. Though it is a fast paced read, some scenes felt a bit dragged. There are some surprising twists in the plot. Some were easy to predict but some were not. I pretty much enjoyed the monster killing action. There are different kinds of monsters introduced in this world like wyverns, cethrax, dreyverns etc.. I'm not really familiar with some of them and how they look like but the way the author described them I can imagine they're pretty ugly looking creatures. I liked the writing and enjoyed the dual POV[first-person] of this book. The world building is amazing! The passages are kind of doorways to different universes. My favorite is definitely Valeria. It's one hell of a huge tech world where they use hover boots to travel around and also not to forget hover cars and bikes. I would definitely love to explore more of this world.
Overall, I liked it! This book is a perfect mix of Magic, fantasy and sci-fi. Despite few issues, I enjoyed reading this book and I might pick up the next book.
Adamant is the first story in the Alliance series by Emma Adams. It serves as an introduction to what I assume will be the key characters for the series, Ada and Kay. The story is set mostly on earth but features creative worldbuilding where other worlds are connected to each other through a series of levels and doors. The Alliance is starts off being vilified, but is that the truth?
The story was somewhat predictable; Two opposites, but who seem to have a kindred spirit in their pasts. The reader knows they are going to get together at some point, but the journey is where the fun is. The story moves along quickly, perhaps too fast. Some of the side characters have hasty introductions, participate in the story from time to time, but don’t get a lot of attention, other than they are needed for some piece of information or another. The same holds true for some of the worldbuilding, like the magic system. It’s out there, but no one seems to know what it does, how powerful is it, or how it can be controlled. I appreciate that it’s a magic system, but it still needs to have boundaries and rules.
I thought the idea behind the worlds was very good. I can see where there would be an infinite number of places to explore and set stories by being able the multiverse. I would have like a better description of what the in-between looked like and maybe some variations in the doors. It seems to me that anyone could just enter the area, open a door, and travel into another world, as long as they avoided the sparse patrols and the odd monster.
I guess the lack of detail is my main gripe with this book. I think that it is foundationally strong, but there is a lack of detail when it comes to many of the elements of the story. The villains are good example. They don’t show up really until the second half, and they kind of pop up. There are some cousins and traitors, but none of these characters have been developed in any way, which is too bad.
Overall, I liked the story, but there are a few rough edges. Most of the effort has gone into the two main characters, while the others tend to be just names on a page. The central “opposites attract” plot is reasonably well done, but the overall plot could have used some spit and polish. Three of five stars on Goodreads.
I can't remember how I came across this book but I read it on the mobile Kindle app.
It alternates between two narrative voices: Ada and Kay. At first, their two narratives seem completely disconnected but they soon merge together in one single plot.
In this multiverse, there is a sort of political agreement amongst the dozens of different worlds. Ada helps smuggle runaways from other planets onto Earth, while Kay has only just graduated from the Academy and got himself a job at the Alliance. When Ada and her friends break in to the Alliance to steal some bloodrock - an important ingredient for their magic disguise formula - Kay happens to be on duty. He arrests Ada while the others escape. But there are murders happening within the Aliance, and Kay and Ada both realise that they don't know their friends as well as they thought.
I wasn't all that keen on Ada as a character, personally, but Kay was okay. (Haha.) Their "budding romance" was a bit strained, I think, and forced into the story too much. The sort of negative connotations around magic was quite interesting, though.
It was quite a good book, with a ton of plot twists and deception. Ada's trust issues are really not going to be any better after all this! 3 stars.
Ada Fletcher is a smuggler; so far, she has not been caught. She has studied the Alliance and their patrol routes and times, so when she smuggles people and families from her magical war-torn universe to this one, she knows she can do it without being caught. Stealing blood-rock from the alliance storerooms is just as easy, or so she thought. Now she is wanted for murder.
A very interesting story that I enjoyed. The world-building of an alternate universe was done well. The space in between, the passages, reminded me of a popular movie, but what else is the crossroads to look like? Then there is the character development which was well done, and the main characters grew slowly with their own doubts. I was glad to see the characters were not in a rush to hook up like in so many romance novels.
I give this alternate world read five stars out of five stars.
Ada Fletcher is from the planet Enzar. Ada and her guardian Nell Fletcher flee to low magic earth after escaping war with the Inter-World Alliance. Ada and Nell provide safe passage and shelter to refugees from their homeland to avoid the Alliance guards. When the blood rock runs out Ada needs the blood rock to disguise her alien-like appearance. Ada breaks into Alliance HQ to steal what she needs and is captured for the murder of an Alliance employee. While under interrogation she meets Kay Walker the grandson of the Alliance founder. Kay believes that Ada is innocent and decides to help her in her quest. I really enjoyed this paranormal urban sci-fi fantasy novel.
This series is about multiverses and the magic they contain. It's not your typical witches, mages etc although mages are mentioned but the magic is different not something you can control and use at will. Definitely a different type of fantasy/ magic book but still well worth reading
I about to read book four. I am thoroughly enjoying this series. It has a very creative concept. And even with the "girl gets boy, girls goes crazy at boy, etc(!)" It explores the history of the characters this enriching the stories. Each time I wonder now what , u get a big surprise!
I am not usually drawn to sci-fi or fantasy, but this book pulled me in & didn't let go. The heroine undergoes a voyage of self discovery, finding and accepting her talents. The hero does as well, accepting his role as the son of a powerful man who used him for experimentation before abandoning him. Can't wait to obtain the next volume.
I love the cover! It took me just a little bit to adjust to the world building, but then I couldn’t put it down. The two main characters reminded me so much of Sunshine, by Robin McKinley, one of my favorite books. So yeah, I really liked this, and I’m eager to read the next one. My one disappointment was the characters’ language.
The story was creative and the characters well built, but the emotions of the two leading protagonists was a little immature. I do not like this dual perspective of each chapter being one or the other protagonist and their emotions about each other was a little too superficial....I am being critical because all in all, I liked the story.
Interesting and fun characters plus the multiverse
What could go wrong if you mix interesting characters with a multiverse story, if it is this book, nothing at all. This was a fun book, the characters were interesting, there was a mix of magic, high tech, whodunit, and non human monsters mixed in. Very fun read, glad it is a series. I definitely recommend this book.
I can't believe TV producers has not taken notice of this amazing piece of multiverse! They're trying to get better shows up, this novel series should be at the top of their list!
Having the story based on earth with all types of secrets kept this story interesting. Some of those “people” and creatures from other worlds were down right scary. Fun book.
Magic exists but it's strictly monitored. Other worlds exist but transit to Earth is strictly controlled. EXCEPT there's an underground group helping people between worlds.
Magic and anti-magic make life complicated for everyone.
A nice take on the multiverse myth. Great characters and a snappy action-packed plot peppered with enough twists to keep the pages turning. Technology, magic, war, conspiracies and the plight of refugees. Interesting mix.
This was a book I had on kindle for a while and finally got around to reading sure glad I did! Great story with two very likeable protagonists lots of action and a all round good read! Getting the rest definitely. 🙂
This was a better book than I anticipated. I'm not into sci-fi but I got hooked into the story and that helped. This was a free book I got off of Amazon thru a daily email of books that I can get. I might just have to find the second book in the series.
